It is once again time for THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! The climactic month of the holiday season that encompasses that yuletide feeling and Angela has picked (most) of the month's selections once again and we kick it off with a rom-com starring the king of rom-coms for much of the 90s and early 2000s. In 2001 you could put out a random John Cusack movie and make $77 million. Oh, how the movie going scene has changed and Mr. Cusack has been through his own changes as well. This 2001 flick is left to the fates as a chance romantic, if ill-timed, encounter goes amazingly well but when it ends it's left to the universe to decide if Jonathan and Sara are meant to be together. It takes a bit but the universe comes around. We're talking the 2001 Christmas rom-com directed by Peter Chelsom called “SERENDIPITY” and Bob struggles a bit with that word. It also stars Kate Beckinsdale, Jeremy Piven, Molly Shannon and John Corbett. Do our hosts get swayed into some holiday charm? Are the hosts forever doomed to suffer under the weight of their “realness”? WTF is Louis Armstrong saying in that song? Do you remember that show “Northern Exposure”? Imagine getting oral from Santa. Just imagine it. CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE (Costume Designer) drew inspiration for his design career while putting together looks for he and his dance partner on the beloved “American Bandstand.” He then started working at the trendy boutique Camp Beverly Hills where he began cultivating a clientele of actors, directors and, most importantly, Costume Designers. Christopher caught his first break in the wardrobe department on two iconic television series, “Moonlighting” and “Pee Wee's Playhouse.” He then decided that designing feature films was his true passion, and he quickly developed relationships with some of the world's most celebrated Designers such as Ellen Mirojnick and Albert Wolsky. Before he knew it, Christopher had created his path in features, working on such films as “City Slickers,” “Beaches” and “Bugsy,” the latter of which garnered the Academy Award® for Best Costume Design. Christopher came up through the ranks in the wardrobe department and quickly became one of the industry's top Costume Supervisors. In 1999, Michael Mann recognized Christopher's talent and promoted him to Associate Costume Designer on “The Insider” (Al Pacino, Russell Crowe), and Christopher has been designing films ever since. Some of the credits that followed were “The Anniversary Party” (Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Kline), “Showtime” (Robert De Niro, Eddie Murphy) and “S.W.A.T.” (Colin Farrell, Samuel L. Jackson). Christopher has become a favorite of Jason Statham, having designed “The Mechanic,” “Cellular” and “Crank” and is a longtime collaborator with film director Simon West, most notably on the Capital One “What's In Your Wallet?” Viking campaign, which won the Costume Designers Guild Award - Best Commercial Costume Design. Christopher teamed up yet again with Michael Mann on two additional projects, including the feature film “Texas Killing Fields” (starring Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain and Chloe Grace Moretz). Christopher served as costume designer on the Jennifer Aniston film, “Management,” and from sketch to fabric he designed all of Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana costumes for “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” from which dolls, Halloween costumes and sportswear were created for the tween market. “The Space Between Us” reunites Christopher with director Peter Chelsom who directed the Hannah Montana movie. Christopher was the costume designer for the first three seasons of the popular Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” for which he was twice nominated for a Costume Designers Guild award. It was his fifth nomination, having won twice for his commercial work. Recently, he was the Costume Designer for Bill Burr's OLD DADS.

Mark and Niall (@elniallo on Twitter) discuss the 2001 romantic comedy Serendipity. Directed by Peter Chelsom, and starring Kate Beckinsale, John Cusack, Jeremy Piven, and an absurd amount of fate, the movie focuses on what happens when two people really don't want to be with their significant others. In this episode, they also talk about romantic comedy rules, fake snow, and really nice gifts. Enjoy!

What if you could be an absolute monster to your Fiancée by secretly spending years hunting for someone else you barely remember and having zero guilt about doing so coz "fate". Join us as we drunkenly (and thus arguably quite poorly) discus 2001's Serendipity, an incredibly vaguely Xmas themed movie about 2 mad buggers spending an unspecified amount of years searching for each other after 1 brief late afternoon together. What is Jeremy Piven really most famous for? Who was almost very nearly cast to play Sara instead? How many times did John pleasure himself wearing that cashmere glove? All this and more in our post Xmas/post New Years ruckus! Starring John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven, Molly Shannon, Eugene Levy, John Corbett and, Introducing, 'Fate'. Directed by Peter Chelsom.

Episode 258: The Crew's watching Peter Chelson's Hector and the Search for Happiness. This film was a box office bomb, grossing only $6 million worldwide on a $13 million budget. The cast will surprise you, and of course the performances are great. The cinematography is also amazing, but the film doesn't deliver the feels.
