Hey gang! It's time to pay tribute to one of the greatest cartoons of all time, so pack some Scooby Snacks, check your flashlight batteries and hop in the Mystery Machine, because this is our tribute to Scooby Doo! For our penultimate episode of Season 6, Justin Cooper leads us through abandoned amusement parks, haunted mansions and old defunct coal mines, in search of ghouls, ghosts and other phoney baloney creeps that we guarantee with turn out to be dudes in masks. Also, wires and holograms are probably involved. For part one, we each pick an episode from the original SCOOBY DOO WHERE ARE YOU! (1969). Then, after a monster-filled Octoponder, we'll finish things off in the second half by each spotlighting a different Scooby show that we personally dig. Like, jinkies! It's gonna be wild, man! ----------------------------------------Retro Ridoctopus is:• Parasite Steve (read)• 8-Bit Alchemy (listen) • Coopster Gold (join) • Nintenjoe (subscribe)----------------------------------------All original heavy metal music by Enchanted Exile

This week, we go way back to revisit the original Scooby-Doo! Scooby-Doo Where Are You debuted in 1969 to answer a call for Saturday morning cartoons with less violence and more humor. The Hanna-Barbera production spawned dozens of TV shows and movies. This week in all age comic books has lots of our go-to comic books, some cool teen releases, as well as a couple great board books for those pre-k through kindergarten geeklings. Our favorite, and our 11-year-old son’s are Scooby Doo Where Are You! #106 and The Amazing Spider-Man #50. The former is a classic comic book that’s at home in any elementary school library (or home setting!) and the latter is great for mid-elementary school readers and up (way up!).
In the tenth episode of the Unmasked History of Scooby Doo, Alexa speaks with Scott Jeralds, who has worked on numerous Scooby projects over the years, from A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, to directing early direct to video movies Scooby-Doo! Highlights of this episode include: 1- The very first time Scott heard about Scooby-Doo Where Are You? when he was about nine years-old, and how he fell in love with the show, and other Hanna-Barbera cartoons. 2- What it was like to work with Bill Hanna, Joe Barbera, and Iwao Takamoto. 3- The story of Scott’s determination to get the original voice cast back for the direct to video movies he directed. Hey Gang, it looks like we've got another mystery on our hands, so let's split up. Velma, you go with Shaggy and Scooby, I'll go with...Nico?! Aw, shucks I wanted to go with Daphne but this isn't Scooby-Doo Where Are You?, it's ATA so I'm going to have to settle for the next best thing, Nico returning from Africa to help me record a podcast episode reviewing the new Cartoon Network shows, ThunderCats and Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. Highlights from this episode include Nico giving all of you listeners the 411 on his adventure in Africa and us using our own brand of sight beyond sight to compare the new ThunderCats Series to the 1984 Version in a discussion that will make you proudly cry, Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats HO! Plus this is followed up by an in-depth look at Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated that pays tribute to all the Scooby incarnations from Where Are You? to the Live-Action Films with the help of soundbites from the Mystery Inc. Gang and the creepy characters that they've met while mystery solving over the years. Yes, if you're an old-school animation junkie this is the episode for you, so with that I leave you with this question will you listen to this podcast for a Scooby Snack?
