Simon Chan is a consistency coach and author of “The Consistency Pill: The 7 Step System to Increase Sales and Transform Your Business.” Siimon is best known for his successful podcast MLM Nation, the number one network marketing podcast with over 700 interviews in the bank. Simon lives by what he says. He credits the discipline of consistency for his success. Today Simon spends his day working one-on-one with network marketers, teaching them strategies to earn over $1,000 a month or more in their online business. In this One Big Tip podcast episode, Simon shares actionable strategies to help you become more disciplined in your life. Simon started his career as a young college graduate with a sense of traditionalism. Shortly after being in the workforce, he realized life was full of options and opportunities. After reading a few books on generating wealth, he took his future into his hands and stepped into entrepreneurial waters. The shift was difficult for Simon as it is for many first-time entrepreneurs. Changing your mindset from employee to boss has many benefits, including financial freedom; however, if you don't develop consistency and discipline, two skills many people have not honed, success will be elusive. In 2013, Simon realized that he had found the key to success and turned his attention to coaching other entrepreneurs so they could do the same and scale their businesses. Simon believes consistency is a learned skill that, through practice, everyone can master. It is the only skill proven to move you to the next level in everything you do. The beauty of consistency is that you don't need perfection. There are days when you will show up and only have 20% energy and focus, but the fact that you showed up creates habits, and our habits create our lives. When you look at the big picture, you realize that where we are today is a collective of our past habits and choices. To make it easy for his coaching clients, Simon created seven modules of consistency that, when followed, the only outcome is goal realization. Module one: Create a checklist. Write down the specific steps you need to take to reach your goals. They need to be clear, concise, and actionable. Module two: Adopt a schedule for your time and stick to it. You need to schedule everything and understand that it is your commitment to yourself and your future. Module three: Create a strategy. What are the actionable steps you will take to reach your goals? Are you going to post on social media? Will you publish more? What will you do in the scheduled time to further your goals? Module four: Choose your environment. Put yourself in the space where you do the best work. Some people are only creative when out in nature. If that's you, then schedule outdoor time every day where you will focus on coming up with new ideas. Module five: It's essential to track your progress. If you don't use a metric to measure progress, how can you know where to improve? Module six: Find the tools you need to stay consistent. There are so many tools available. Many are free. One tool most people have that is great for scheduling is a calendar. Once something is on your calendar, make it non-negotiable. If you follow this rule, your consistency will increase, and everything else will follow. Module seven: Accountability. You need to hold yourself accountable. If you can't do it on your own, get a coach, join a group or ask a friend. Have someone there to check in with you and ensure you keep your commitment to yourself and your future. The trick with accountability is they don't need to be long check-ins. As a matter of fact, quick short communication will keep you more consistent overall as it won't take time away from your day. Before taking on new clients, one thing Simon does is ensure they are coachable. That means you need to be open and willing to change. If someone isn't open-minded and willing to...

Recorded 23rd May 2021 Currently Apple's Podcast app doesn't seem to render links properly so if you are listening in the Podcasts app go to www.essentialapple.com (http://www.essentialapple.com/) for full shownotes and links. This week the Apple v Epic trial came to the end o the grilling stage and ended with the judge putting Tim Cook on the spot and he was surprisingly frank about Apple's position. Rumours of a new iPod Touch surfaced, and Apple put out an ad promoting its App Tracking Transparency in an amusing (if fairly hard hitting) manner. Apple Music will get lossless audio and spatial audio (but it wont work with your AirPods (Max or not). Siimon, Nick and Steve from Geeks Corner get together to mull over all of this and more. NOTE: In the section where we talking about spatial audio and AirPods I was not 100% correct - seems the messaging is somewhat confused and Apple seem to use “spatial audio” and Dolby Atmos almost interchangeably - however basically not all of the new features work with Bluetooth headphones. On today's show, Siimon shares his ‘Life Changing Question’. A question that allowed him to successfully grow one of the largest marketing services companies in the world, sell it for multiple millions - against all expectations. Siimon also covers Why trusting your intuition is important and why the top hedge fund managers are studying intuition The question that he didn’t ask that would have saved him millions if he did ask it Why its important to ‘Dream Positively, plan negatively, Act Positively’ per Kazuo Inamori The importance of actively reading and taking notes Genetic sequencing, expanding life span and medical breakthroughs that are coming Top habits to keep you intellectually and mentally sharp Powerful technique to dispel the negative build up from the day Why focusing on gratitude is a life changing habit Morning ritual to get your day off to the best start Why it is important to optimize how we feel about ourselves Why you should drop the stigma surrounding failure – since success is temporary and failure is constant How to ‘win the day’ Resources Mentioned in this show: http://siimonreynolds.com/ http://www.thefortuneinstitute.com/
Back by very popular demand we have Siimon Reynolds for his third stint on the BBF podcast. Siimon will be talking to us about all things marketing, and there really is no one better qualified for the task. Siimon is still famous for being the brains behind the legendary “Grim Reaper” anti-AIDS campaign in Australia in 1987. From there he cofounded the Photon Group, which grew into a global empire containing 6,000 employees in 52 different locations across 14 different countries. Siimon then left the Photon Group and set up the Fortune Institute which is dedicated to helping SMEs fulfill their potential. See below for some of the great marketing advice that Siimon gave, and a snapshot of the subjects he covered with Ben during the show: ** Sometimes market leaders are not the companies with the best product – they are the companies with the best marketing. ** Anyone can learn marketing, but it is such a long process to become an expert that it basically isn’t worth it for most people. The best thing is to learn the basics with a view to using that knowledge to effectively manage an external marketing expert. ** Before any marketing campaign, it’s a good idea to work in the following order: 1. Think about your target audience. 2. Tailor the message. 3. Define how to deliver the message. ** Remember that it’s a lot easier to get customers who have already said ‘yes’ to you to say ‘yes’ again, than it is to attract new customers. ** If you aren’t sure an advert is working then it probably isn’t – it’s time to stop. But don’t stop an advert and reject the medium of advertising. It’s more likely to be your ad rather than the medium that is the problem. In this episode of Business Brain Food you will learn: ** What makes an effective marketing campaign ** How Dominoes revolutionized their entire marketplace with a simple marketing ploy ** The power of surveys ** Digital marketing target methods ** The importance of message V audience ** Split testing ** How long you should spend on social media Resources mentioned in this episode: ** Ben’s free business plan template: http://www.maxmyprofit.com.au ** Siimon’s own site: http://www.siimonreynolds.com ** Ben’s Daily Business Tips: http://www.dbtpodcast.com ** Facebook: facebook.com/businessbrainfood ** Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/businessbrainfood ** Twitter: https://twitter.com/bfewtrell ** ActionCOACH: http://actioncoachanz.com/itunes ** ActionCOACH: http://actioncoachanz.com/stitcher Siimon is a shining example of what can be achieved with good marketing. If you follow his simple strategies you will give your business every chance to flourish. I'm really excited to be sharing and talking with Siimon Reynolds today but before we introduce Siimon, hey Barb how are you going? Barbara: I'm great Matt, thank you very much. Delighted and excited about this show to hear Siimon's great insights into virtual teams. Matt: Fantastic, and so welcome, Siimon, to today's show! Siimon: It's great to be here! Matt: Fantastic! Siimon and I, we work closely together at The Fortune Institute and I met Siimon back in 2008 and I think at that time you just moved from Australia to United States, Siimon is that correct? Siimon: Yeah absolutely! I'm there now, here in almost always sunny, Los Angeles. Matt: Fantastic! What amazed me at the time when we met – that time when we met you were coaching me – was that you were running your coaching business, you were living in the US and yet you had a team here in Australia doing a lot of the coordinating and the like for you. So, I guess what we want to share with everybody today was your experiences with virtual teams and using virtual staff for many functions within your businesses and your experiences with that. So if we could start with just sharing who you've got on your team, or your virtual team, and what sort of key roles that they play or task that they do for you. Key team players Siimon: Yes sure! Well, look I have a virtual assistant and have had for many years in Australia and she's responsible for doing a whole lot of stuff, she sets meetings for me, she actually handles a lot of my finances, you know so she pays bills that are needed, all that kind of stuff. I use her also for research, so that could be work research or ‘Can you search for a company that does XY and Z?', or I even use her for things like holidays, so if I want to go to Italy, I don't search through for the best hotels in Milan, I say I want a hotel like this within these parameters in Milan, can you present me three good examples of that.' So that's incredibly useful and an amazing way to slice off time and I'll even use her to slice off a minute, numerous times a week, so for instance, if I have or someone wants an appointment with me,
