There are more than three million vessels on the world's sea beds, and plenty of explorers looking for them. But if they find something valuable, do they get to keep it? We talk to an arbitration lawyer about the laws governing the sea, and hear from maritime archaeologists about the perils of rummaging around on the ocean floor, disturbing long-sunken wrecks that offer a priceless glimpse into history. Some say we should leave these ships be, especially when they're graveyards. Others say we should bring them to the surface, put them in museums to educate people, make money from them and perhaps even sell off some of their treasure.Produced and presented by Gideon Long(Image: A diver looks at a shipwreck. In the Florida Keys, the ocean isn't just part of the scenery. Because beneath those shimmering teal waters, there are adventures and discoveries just waiting to be found. And in today's episode, we'll explore two very different - yet equally captivating - gems of the Keys, with excerpts from two different episodes of the 30-part Florida Keys Traveler podcast. First, join host Elizabeth Harryman Lasley as she visits Marathon's Dolphin Research Center. Mandy Rodriguez co-founded DRC in 1984 as a research facility where dolphins are cared for and nurtured in a forever home. The results are something you'll have to hear to believe. (Hint: It really is possible to speak with them - and doing so has saved many lives). Then, Elizabeth speaks with Kim Fisher. In 1985, Kim's father Mel Fisher finally found the object of a deep-sea search spanning nearly 17 years. The Atocha shipwreck was named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most valuable shipwreck treasure ever recovered, then worth an estimated $400 million. Norah Jones Is Playing Along

Jeff Tweedy is a musician, songwriter, author and frontman of the prolific band, Wilco. Norah joins Jeff in the studio to chat and play duo versions of 5 of her favorites songs of his, including ‘Jesus, Etc.,' ‘Muzzle of Bees' and ‘Sunken Treasure'. They dive into how he's made music a family pastime and writing the perfect set list. Norah & Jeff laugh about the time she got the words wrong to one of his most beloved songs in front of him, and they tackle the age-old question of ‘who's career would you like to have?' They revisit recent history and discuss how the pandemic impacted songwriting. In the end, the answer is simple: Love is the king! Recorded on 10/1/2021 Learn more about your ad choices. Last time, Pearl was on a righteous rampage as she hunted for clues to the whereabouts of BIG, the shiny Octillery currently missing from the Bolete Aquarium. Even though he had supposedly been taken to a research institute for study, something seemed fishy. Now, with the help of Jeff the Security Guard, Pearl and Luca are busting into Aquamarine's office to search for answers. Will they be able to execute this stealth mission? Will Aquamarine remain unaware of their intrusion? And how many more days will Pearl have to add to Jeff's all-expense-paid cruise to keep him cooperating?? GM: Jonah M. Once they made it back to Bolete City, a trip to the aquarium revealed that BIG the Octillery was missing! Our heroes may have had a different plan coming into the city, but now Pearl has a singular focus: find BIG. Who will stand in her way? Ahoy listeners! This week strap in for a 4-hour tour to the bottom of the sea of completely self-indulgent noodling… nah, just kidding! We have raided the Prog Rock crypt, yet we've prepared a bite-size slab of the genre that pushes the boundaries of rock music with a diverse mix of, well… everything! Kevin's prog-rock cruise that was postponed in 2020 is finally setting sail this week, so we thought we'd feature several of the artists that will be featured on the ship. What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. Prog rock in the 60s and 70s initially had mostly classical music and jazz influences, but over the last 40-years, it has come to include other fusions of music styles including metal, punk, funk, folk, and electronic. From Zappa and Sgt. Pepper to today's Djent and Post-Prog movements… This is Prog Rock! Get yer nerd on!Songs this week include:Riverside – “Rainbow Box” from Rapid Eye Movement (2007)Transatlantic – “Rainbow Sky” from The Absolute Universe: Forevermore (2021)Wishbone Ash – “The King Will Come” from Argus (1972) District 97 – “Stay For The Ending” from Many New Things (2022)Pain Of Salvation – “Angel Of Broken Things” from In The Passing Light Of Day (2017)Marillion – “Murder Machines” from An Hour Before It's Dark (2022)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/InObscuria?asc=uCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/
