This week, Jason and Jill tackle a list of songs that were most closely associated with a particular 1980s movie.
The wondrous Ruapehu region never ceases to amaze me at its capacity to stir all senses, from its expansive platter of leisurely outdoorsy pursuits. It easily ranks as one of my all-time favourite playgrounds in New Zealand and I have revelled in its glories via a multitude of modes in recent years. I have savoured exceptional mountain bike trails, jet boating, quad biking and world-class hiking. Not to mention skiing. But in the autumn months, why not head to the heart of Tongariro National Park and take a ride to the summit of Ruapehu from Whakapapa village? The radiant Sky Waka, New Zealand's longest gondola ride, fully warrants the stature as a signature Kiwi experience. I've always been in awe of the alpine engineering audacity of the Swiss – and the Sky Waka absolutely projects that same sense of spine-tingling prowess. Spanning 1.8km from the base station and zipping you up 390m, Whakapapa's dramatically serrated volcanic landscape sweeps you up, as you gawp in wonder out of the glasshouse-like cabin, luxuriously appointed with heated leather seating! Situated at 2,020m above sea level, the cherry on top is Whakapapa Ski Area's Knoll Ridge Chalet which is New Zealand's highest café. As you gush superlatives over the horizon-searching views, it's a novel perch to enjoy coffee from Pātaka, drinks in The Back Bar, or nosh in style while marvelling at the skyline from Knoll Ridge's giant floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking The Pinnacles. I highly recommend “Tea at 2020m”, Whakapapa's stirring take on traditional high tea. It's actually considered the highest high tea on the planet, with a delectable tiered stand of sandwiches, savouries and cakes to work your way through. It's currently available until the end of April, prior to the mountain's seasonal switch to winter activities. After feasting on far too many tasty morsels, the mountain trails were calling. There are over 10km of marked trails to strike out on, ranging from 20 minute strolls to 3 hours return alpine hikes. Without its snow-coat, it's a compelling way to admire the dramatic terrain and its mash-up of volcanic rock, pumice, scoria and sand. Close to Chateau Tongariro, there's a stack of tasty wee tracks. The Tawhai Falls walk is a heart-stealer, leading you through mountain toatoa and beech forest to a waterfall tumbling over the edge of an ancient lava flow. It's one of two waterfalls used in Lord of the Rings that depicted Gollum fishing, hence its nickname is Gollum's Pool. (Mangawhero Falls, very close to Waitonga Falls, is the other location that was cast as Gollum's Pool.) It was sad to see the sorry sight of the moth-balled Chateau Tongariro, although the local rumour mill suggests a wealthy Irish businessman is a hot prospect to breathe new life into the grand lady. Just behind the Chateau, Taranaki Falls is a return walk for even grander waterworks. Passing through a mix of tussock, alpine shrublands and beech forest, the track wraps around the lower slopes of Ruapehu, with vintage views of Ngauruhoe's symmetrical cone. A flock of native birds, including whiteheads and grey warblers, serenaded my stroll all the way to Taranaki Falls, tumbling 20 metres over the edge of a large andesite lava flow which erupted from Ruapehu 15,000 years ago. If you're up for a half-day advanced hike, I definitely recommend the Tupapakura Falls walk. It starts just out of National Park village, on Fishers Road. The track has been upgraded by the local community in partnership with the Department of Conservation. It begins with an easy 20 minute walk to the Taranaki Lookout, serving up panoramic wide-range perspectives of Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu. Beyond this point, the trail becomes a back country adventure track, which will test your stamina in the Erua Forest. The track follows a ridge and then descends steeply to a stream. There are good stands of tawa, mature rimu, miro and totara to see along the way. Climbing from the stream, the track winds its way around bluffs to a sparkling lookout point with views of the long-drop falls. You'll need at least four hours to knock off this 11km long track. Refuel? Reward yourself with a thirst-quencher at Schnapps Bar & Restaurant in National Park Village. Heading south? Synonymous with Ohakune as much as carrots, the famed main-street Chocolate Éclair Shop is worth the trip alone. Sinking your teeth into one of their celebrated giant cream-filled, chocolate-topped pastries is one of life's great pleasures. Just north of town, a curious diversion is Horopito Motors. It's featured in two classic Kiwi flicks, Smash Palace and Goodbye Pork Pie. Nicknamed Smash Palace, for a gold coin donation, you can see some film memorabilia and have a look around the yard. It's quite a yard – more like a vast car graveyard because Smash Palace are the biggest vintage car dismantlers in Australasia. It's like an enormous op-shop for old cars. They sell parts around the world for cars made between the 1920s-1970s and also for some early models that were built before WW1. The on-site museum also includes owner Colin Fredricksen's favourite car restorations on display. Back in my Ezi Car Rental vehicle, I was bound for Taumarunui, but I also enjoyed a short layover in the pint-sized village of Owhango, to reacquaint myself with Ohinetonga Scenic Reserve. Just over a decade ago a group of passionate local residents banded together to bring the birdlife back to this unlogged native podocarp forest, mercifully spared from the ravages of historic milling. This glorious slice of wilderness is on the boundary of Tongariro Forest Park and is now one of our national kiwi sanctuaries. It's also home to a vast flock native bird species including the whio (blue duck), dabchick, whitehead, North Island robin and kereru. Take a stroll on the 3.8km loop track around the reserve for some seriously soothing forest-bathing. I gave a massive 600 year old totara tree a fresh hug, after first marvelling over this mighty specimen four years ago. Yes, I'm still a happy little tree-hugger. I romped my way around the Ruapehu region in a trusty hybrid Ford Puma, courtesy of Ezi Car Rental. I thoroughly enjoyed the Ezi experience, where excellent vehicles, super sharp prices and fast & friendly service are all part of the package. Ezi Car Rental operates an extensive network from 24 locations across the country. They're everywhere you want to be with vehicles to suit your specific needs. Head to www.ezicarrental.co.nz The drama and grandeur of Ruapehu is power-packed as a year-round wonderland for outdoorsy adventure. Crowned by the triple volcanoes of the central plateau and the majestic Tongariro National Park, make tracks to the wide open spaces and hospitality charms of Ruapehu. www.visitruapehu.com Mike Yardley is our Travel Correspondent on Jack Tame Saturday Mornings.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bob Short :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, December 8, 2024 "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! ... What is man that You are mindful of him?..." For the 2nd Sunday of Advent, Bob Short explores Psalm chapter 8, the contrast between the majesty of God and the smallness of man, and the connection to Christmas. Bob's message follows and Advent reading by Bruce and Jill Cameron. The helpful resources Bob included in his sermon notes are included below. Worship music permitted under CCLI License #264436. RESOURCES: Chronological Reading Plan: https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets-v3/pdf/dbrp/1Yr_ChronologicalPlan.pdf Psalms Helps (source: Moody Bible Commentary, © 2014) Characteristics of Hebrew poetry: 1) Poetic language: Rich, concise word choice, powerful word pictures, e.g. "as the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God" (42:1) 2) Inclusio: "Book ending" or "bracketing" of ideas with identical or parallel phrases to create a poetic unit of thought, e.g. "hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence"/ "Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God" (42:5, 11) 3) Parallelism: One idea presented in relation to another through parallel thoughts. Generally, parallelism is of three types: a) Synonymous parallelism: consecutive lines present the same or similar idea in different words, e.g “He raises the poor from the dust, and he lifts the needy from the ash heap.” (Ps 113:7) b) Antithetical parallelism: in which consecutive lines present contrasting or opposite ideas, e.g. The LORD keeps all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy. (Ps 145:20) c) Synthetic parallelism: in which consecutive lines present different, yet complementary ideas, e.g. “He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. (Ps 18:34) 4) Acrostic Structure: Each verse in the psalm begins with a consecutive letter of the Hebrew alphabet (e.g. Psalm 119, the longest psalm, is an acrostic praise to the Lord and His Word. It has 22 stanzas of eight verses; each stanza begins with the same letter. Acrostic structure is a helpful memory device, and reflects God's truth from A to Z. 5) Musical Instruction: Written to be sung, identified as "song," "psalm," or mentioning musical instruments or the choir director in the heading Types of Psalms: 1) Psalms of Praise and Thanksgiving: Often related to specific incidences of personal deliverance. They include a proclamation of praise to God, a report of deliverance, a renewed determination to praise, and often instruction for corporate praise. 2) Hymnic Psalms: More specifically hymns, rather than related to personal deliverance. These have the common elements of: (1) call to praise; (2) cause for praise; and (3) concluding exhortation to praise. Often include a note regarding the choir or a musical notation. 3) Songs: To be sung, often including additional musical directions. 4) Laments: Cries or prayers of help in times of distress. Include (1) an introductory plea to the Lord, (2) the specific lament describing the issue, (4) petition for help, and (5) a vow to praise the Lord despite circumstances and regardless of deliverance. 5) Imprecatory Psalms: Calling for specific judgments to fall on the enemy - the plea of God's people for justice.

7093. That they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness. That this signifies that from a glad mind they may worship the Lord in the obscurity of faith in which they are, is evident from the signification of “holding a feast,” as being worship from a glad mind (of which presently), that it is the Lord to whom they were to hold the feast, and who is here meant by “Me,” or by “Jehovah,” may be seen above, n. 7091; and from the signification of a “wilderness,” as being the obscurity of faith (n. 2708, 7055). (That they who are of the spiritual church are relatively in obscurity of faith, see n. 2708, 2715, 2716, 2718, 2831, 2849, 2935, 2937, 3241, 3246, 3833, 6289, 6500, 6945) Heaven and Hell 498. This first state of man after death continues with some for days, with some for months, and with some for a year; but seldom with any one beyond a year; for a shorter or longer time with each one according to the agreement or disagreement of his interiors with his exteriors. For with everyone the exteriors and interior must make one and correspond. In the spiritual world no one is permitted to think and will in one way and speak and act in another. Everyone there must be an image of his own affection or his own love, and therefore such as he is inwardly such he must be outwardly... and for this reason a spirit's exteriors are first disclosed and reduced to order that they may serve the interiors as a corresponding plane. This is the third in the series of Grape Miniseries Refreshes to complete the trifecta of Cabernet Sauvignon and parents – Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. The short of it: Sauvignon blanc has character!! Love it or hate it, you know what you're getting when you have a wine made from this grape. Whether it be citrusy, acidic, and minerally from Loire, fruitier and sometimes oak aged from Bordeaux, or pungent, spicy, and grapefruit-noted from New Zealand, this grape makes and impact wherever it goes. Photo: Sauvignon Blanc. Credit: Austrian Wine Grown in more than 30 countries, Sauvignon blanc is the 11th most planted wine grape in the world. (OIV, 2017). One third of Sauvignon blanc is in France, with New Zealand a close second. As with every grape, Sauvignon blanc has its quirks, but the grape is all about purity, rather than winemaking magic. With specific soils and sites this grape's beauty shines through in its crystal-clear flavors. Sauvignon is appreciated for its simplicity, its ease of drinking and its versatility – the grape makes dry whites, oaky whites, simple whites, more complex ones, Sauternes and other botrytis affected wines. Whatever it's used it, it makes a mark with great acidity and strong flavor. In this show I cover: The origins and DNA of the grape Sauvignon Blanc in the vineyard Aromas and flavors Main Regions: France: Loire (Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé), Bordeaux Spain, especially Rueda Italy: Piedmont, Friuli, Alto Adige Austria, especially Styria New Zealand!!! Sex and its definition are powerful, literally bringing life to individuals, marriages, and families. Meanwhile, false definitions of sex abound and lead individuals and society into incredible confusion and pain. Let's look at popular definitions today and compare them with a definition of sex founded on biblical principles and consider why the difference matters. The world says SEX is (1) Synonymous with gender, a social construct; a person's subjective sense of their sexual identity, without regard to biology or anatomy. (2) The ultimate source of personal identity and meaning. (3) Any form of recreational sexual activity done to give pleasure.Biblical principles teach us that SEX is (1) The God-created male-female division. (2) Sexual intercourse between a man and a woman; a comprehensive one-flesh union of heart, mind, spirit, and body, often bringing the gift of children. Sexual intercourse is a gift from God exclusively for the uniting of husband and wife in marriage.Words and definitions matter because they shape the way we think and feel. These, in turn, determine our choices and actions, which shape the cultures we live in, for better or worse. One of the primary desires of the Sexual Revolution of the 1950s and '60s was to radically redefine the word sex. The Sexual Revolution has accomplished its goal of turning the word sex on its head. But ideas have consequences, and as we have seen over the last 60-plus years, everything these new definitions of sex touch has eventually led to despair and destruction. Why has this happened? Because once again, whenever humans try to take a God-given word and twist it to mean anything besides its original definition, we're simultaneously twisting ourselves away from God's perfect design for us. It's a shame someone has to go last in these mini series. But, we have saved a big hitter and one of our favourites for you.In today's concluding episode we talk to Marie Davies of Stopham fame. Synonymous with this excellent producer, you may think that Marie has been there from the start. Marie talks us through her journey into wine and the industry, and how she became so innately connected and vital to Stopham (and English wine generally) Then by exploring the story of Stopham, and their approach to the vineyard and wine, we cover topics such as sustainabilityand wider communication with existing and potential English wine consumers. Again, a lot of ground is covered today, but Marie has agreed (as if there was a choice) to come back on in future and dig into the subjects in greater detail. For me, I do equate silence with calm. But I do know that not everyone is the same. The important thing is to be thoughtful in choosing whichever suits you best. In order to experience calm, we have to be intentional in our decisions, and that includes welcoming silence or not. Let's talk about it. CCA CPaaSAA CPaaS Special Podcast, Cloud Connections 2024 “AI is synonymous with CPaaS in how it gets deployed in the organization when it comes to anything communications related", Kevin Nethercott of the CPaaS Acceleration Alliance. This week, the Cloud Connections 2024 Conference will offer a panel labeled "Unlocking Revenue Streams: Seizing the CPaaS Advantage" and a second panel called "UCaaS, CCaaS, CPaaS, Security: Crafting the Ultimate Collaboration Suite for Revenue Growth". CPaaS will be a major topic at the event. According to Nethercott, AI and CPaaS, go together. “They're absolutely kind of kindred spirits of a sort. It's hard to do one without the other. And we're seeing global deployments of it in front of contact centers, in front of CCAS. And so, it really is converging everything down to the user. And that's why we really like to focus on the user experience as the critical element of what this technology can be used for.” Last year, CPaaS and AI had a kind of wonder appeal. This year, we are seeing practical applications, what Nethercott describes as commercialization. In this short podcast we learn how those dots are linking up: CPaaS can be deployed to solve customer challenges, and to create revenue. Looking into these opportunities will be a big part of this week's event. Visit www.cpaasaa.com

I recently had a parent contact me who was confused about RtI Tier 2 language used in a meeting. (And rightfully so!) It's not uncommon to feel like your head is spinning after an education meeting where different acronyms are thrown around. This is what I refer to as “edu speak.” In this episode, I detail the three tiers of RtI and explain how dyslexia intervention fits into the process. RtI stands for Response to Intervention. It is the first step toward receiving Special Education services in reading, and should only last 8–12 weeks. The RtI framework consists of three tiers divided like a triangle: Tier 1: The bottom part of the triangle is Tier 1 general education, where students can work in small groups. Work is given at students' skill level, though not necessarily individualized. Their progress is monitored and tracked. Tier 2: Tier 2 students receive small group interventions for individualized and special teaching, but still take part in Tier 1 lessons and tasks. Students can move back to Tier 1 or into Tier 3 depending on their progress. Tier 3: is synonymous with Special Education (though not a replacement). Tier 3 students take part in small group instruction, individual instruction, or both. Tier 3 students spend most of the day with Tier 1 students, but spend portions of it in a resource or Special Education room. Universal screening scores can help identify those who need strategic or intensive support. Based on these scores, a dyslexic student may be moved into Tier 2 small group work, or Tier 3 — this is where reading intervention programs show up. While RtI cannot be used to excuse, delay, or deny Special Education services, it is a tool to support the process. Have a question or want a certain topic covered? The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3: Republicans and Democrats continue to negotiate over enhanced border security policies designed to crack down on the thousands of migrants crossing the U.S. Southern border unlawfully each day. Speaking from outside of the U.S. Capitol, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) bizarrely claimed that discouraging illegal migration is similar to “racial quota laws” enacted during the 1920s. While speaking with NBC News, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) said, “I'm not a progressive…I just think I'm a Democrat that is very committed to choice and other things. But with Israel, I'm going to be on the right side of that. And immigration is something near and dear to me, and I think we do have to effectively address it as well.” You can read a recap of his interview with NBC News here: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/-not-progressive-fetterman-breaks-left-israel-immigration-rcna129747 New York Times columnist David Brooks suggested Chris Christie should drop out of the Republican presidential race in order to clear a path for Nikki Haley to directly challenge Donald Trump in the New Hampshire presidential primary. Reporting from the U.S. Southern border, Fox News journalist Bill Melugin revealed that authorities in Eagle Pass, Texas are “suspending railway operations…they're shutting down international commerce in order to help speed up processing of migrants.” While appearing on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, Sen. Lindsey Graham said Republicans and Democrats are “not anywhere close to a deal” on legislation that tethers Ukraine aid, Israel aid, and funds for additional security at the U.S. Southern border. On this weekend's episode of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, journalist Walter Kirn said that the flood of students going directly from Ivy League universities to become writers at The New York Times is creating a progressive bubble and, consequently, damaging journalism. Has baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani figured out an ingenious way to avoid California's outlandish state income? Lindsey Adler and Richard Rubin write: “Ohtani will take home just $2 million per season over the 10-year span of his contract, which was made official Monday night. In an unprecedented structure, Ohtani will defer $68 million per season until the end of his contract, meaning the Dodgers will pay him $680 million between 2034 and 2043…But by the time he starts receiving the $68 million payments, he may be able to avoid state income taxes by living someplace like Florida without an income tax, or by moving back to Japan.” You can read the full article here: https://www.wsj.com/sports/baseball/shohei-ohtani-700-million-contract-deferral-067a345f Adam Sabes of Fox News writes: “An alleged congressional staffer who filmed an explicit sex tape inside a Senate hearing room could face criminal charges, one lawyer argues. The U.S. Capitol Police told Fox News they were aware of an amateur pornographic video published by the Daily Caller on Friday, which shows someone identified as a congressional staffer, engaging in sex with another man in Hart Senate Office Building room 216… Posts on social media claimed the alleged staffer worked for Sen. Ben Cardin's office. Hours after the story broke, Cardin's office announced that a legislative aide had been dismissed but did not address reports linking a member of his staff to the sex tape.” You can read more here: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-sex-tape-congressional-staffer-allegedly-seen-leaked-video-could-face-charges-lawyer-says

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for April 28, 2023 is: arboreal ahr-BOR-ee-ul adjective Arboreal is a literary term that means “of or relating to trees.” It can also mean “living in or often found in trees,” as in “arboreal monkeys.” // Despite taking weekly hikes on the same trail, she never ceases to be amazed by the forest's arboreal beauty. See the entry > Examples: “[The satanic leaf-tailed gecko's] mottled brown skin, replete with mossy splotches and vein-like ridges, makes it the perfect imitation of a decaying leaf. Any predator clever enough to see through its arboreal disguise and mount an attack will be in for a fright. The leafy gecko opens its mouth, sticking out a blood-red tongue and unleashing a chilling scream that will frighten off the boldest of predators.” — Holly Barker, Discover Magazine, 7 Oct. 2022 Did you know? Arboreal took root in English in the 17th century, at a time when language influencers were eager to see English take on words from Latin and Greek. Apparently unsatisfied with the now-obsolete word treen (“of, relating to, or derived from trees”), they plucked arboreal from the Latin arboreus, meaning “of a tree”; its ultimate root is arbor, meaning “tree.” That root arborized—that is, branched freely (to use the term figuratively): English abounds with largely obscure words that trace back to arbor, meaning “tree.” Generally synonymous with arboreal are arboraceous, arborary, arboreous, and arborous. Synonymous with arboreal specifically in the sense of “relating to or resembling a tree” are arborescent, arboresque, arborical, and arboriform. Arboricole is a synonym of arboreal in its “inhabiting trees” sense. (The influencers may have overdone it a bit.) Arboreal is far more common than any of these, but other arbor words also have a firm hold in the language: arborvitae refers to a shrub whose name translates as “tree of life”; arboretum refers to a place where trees are cultivated; and arboriculture is the cultivation of trees. And of course we can't forget Arbor Day, which since 1872 has named a day set aside for planting trees. Despite its spelling, however, the English word arbor, which refers to a garden shelter of tree boughs or vines twined together, has a different source: it came by way of Anglo-French from the Latin herba, meaning “herb” or “grass.”
Ahead of the opening of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” exhibition, the Costume Institute's head curator discusses the legendary designer's work and lasting impact. Background:Andrew Bolton, the head curator of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, first dreamed up the idea for a Karl Lagerfeld-centric show at Lagerfeld's 2019 memorial service.Next month, that vision will be realised with a new exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” focussed on the late Chanel and Fendi designer. With the exhibit, set to run from May 5 to July 18, Bolton's goal was to focus on the designer's prolific career rather than the man behind it.“We wanted to focus on the work rather than the words or the man because he was problematic,” said Bolton. “There were those things he said that were difficult … the one thing that was authentic, real and tangible was his creative output.”This week on The BoF Podcast, BoF editor-at-large Tim Blanks sits down with Bolton to discuss the upcoming show and Lagerfeld's legacy in fashion and beyond. Key Insights:Lagerfeld was a trailblazer in fashion, helping to inspire countless designers who followed him, according to Bolton. “One of Karl's greatest legacies was creating the blueprint for the modern day fashion designer impresario,” said Bolton. His influence transcended fashion, too. “He was somebody who didn't restrict his creativity down to one outlet. He was an interior designer. He was a photographer, he was a writer, he was a theatrical designer as well as a designer,” said Bolton.Bolton said that Lagerfeld was “nostalgic and sentimental,” going as far to recreate his childhood bedroom in his home. That was often reflected in his work, and is examined in the exhibition. “For somebody who loved history so much and consumed history, he could not not look back, and you see those recurring motifs in his work.”Synonymous with Lagerfeld was his signature suit, which featured a severely tailored black jacket and crisp white shirt. Bolton saw that outfit as a simple ensemble not designed to draw attention. “To me, his greatest disguise was a black and white uniform; he created it because it deflected away from anything,” he said. While the exhibition focuses on his work, more of Lagerfeld's personal life and relationships with collaborators like Amanda Harlech and Patrick Hourcade are detailed in the book that accompanies the show. “I wanted that to be their relationship, their voice,” said Bolton. “They had very specific relationships with Karl, and they're illuminating, but I didn't want that to be infiltrating the thesis of the exhibition.”Additional Resources:Met Curator Andrew Bolton, Quiet Defender of Fashion as ArtKarl Lagerfeld: A Line of BeautyHere's Why People Are Angry About 2023's Met Gala Theme, Karl Lagerfeld: When the 2023 Met Gala theme was announced, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” the museum received some backlash due to Lagerfeld's problematic past. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for April 15, 2023 is: contraption kun-TRAP-shun noun A contraption is a usually mechanical or electronic device or gadget. // The students worked as a team to create a Rube Goldberg contraption that can fill a pet food bowl at the press of a lever. See the entry > Examples: “In October of last year, an enormous new creature appeared on the seabed of the Pacific Ocean, about 1,400 miles southwest of San Diego. It was a remote-controlled, 90-ton machine the size of a small house, lowered from an industrial ship on a cable nearly 3 miles long. Once it was settled on the ocean floor, the black, white, and Tonka-truck-yellow contraption began grinding its way forward, its lights lancing through the darkness, steel treads biting into the silt.” — Vince Beister, WIRED, 28 Feb. 2023 Did you know? In the words of one Little Mermaid, “I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty.” It would have been on-theme (though perhaps a bit clunky) for the aquatic princess to include in her siren song the word contraption. Synonymous with both gadget and gizmo, and widget too, in referring to mechanical and electronic devices, contraption is also one of a raft of terms people reach for when talking about various human-made bits and bobs, whether mechanical or not. (It's thought to have possibly been formed as a blend of contrivance, trap, and invention.) Want more thingamabob words? Try doohickey, thingamajig, dingus, or doodad.

Later, the crew remembers a moment from Season 3 ranking the Top 5 pettiest people with 50 cent at the top of that list. #Jadakiss #AllenIverson #TakeOff SUBSCRIBE ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/c/IAMATHLETE?sub_confirmation=1 WATCH MORE ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/c/IAMATHLETE CELSIUS is I Am Athlete's essential energy drink of choice on set and before our work outs!⚡️ CELSIUS is Made with premium ingredients, zero sugar, 7 essential vitamins and none of the bad stuff from traditional energy drinks that give you jitters.
