It's been 11 months since we've stepped into the Dojo but we're back...for just this episode lol. Seven years ago we recorded an episode dedicated to women's history month and in 2025 we're coming back to show the ladies in combat sports some more love. This time we both highlight 15 fights each to check out that span across MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Boxing and more. And it wouldn't be an DTP episode if we didn't have some random ramblings. Elsewhere we briefly talk Leon Edwards Vs Sean Brady, ONE 172, and we shout out U-God of Wu-Tang because why not. Thank you guys for still rocking with us after all these years. We hope you enjoy! NEW EPISODE!!! This week I sit down with Raven Hunter & Kane to talk about one of the most infamous groups in not only Hip-Hop history, but music history period. With 9 MC's, all with different styles, dark gritty beats & kung fu samples, the Wu-Tang Clan came out of nowhere in 1993 and took Hip-Hop by storm. We discuss the top songs from Wu-Tang Clan albums only (we will eventually do episodes on each members solo catalog). From the classic debut all the way to the "million dollar album", we hit their whole career. The Mighty Wu-Tang ClanThe Wu-tang Clan formed in late 1992 and has proven to be the most revolutionary Hip-Hop group through their music produced in the mid-90s, which wasn't their most valuable aspect. The clan consisted of nine emcees, “The RZA,” “GZA,” “Ol' Dirty Bastard,” “Method Man,” “Raekwon,” “Ghostface Killa,” “Inspectah Deck,” “U-God,” and “Masta Killa.” Their obligation was furtherance to engulf the record industry in a profitable manner for their winning. So their plan was to release a strong group debut album, then collaborate with one another to release invaluable solo albums. The Wu-tang Clan received their title through the martial arts film, "Shaolin and Wu Tang," which portrayed multiple disciples of the temple to be disciplined in the Wu-tang form. The origin of the word "Wu-tang" derives from Wu Dang, the Taoist holy mountain located in the Central China in the Hubei Province. The word also is the name of the Emperor Yong Le's Ming Purple Imperial City, which was constructed during the time period of 1404-1420. Their debut album, "Enter the Wu-tang (36 Chambers)," was designed to contain a Shaolin vs. Wu-tang theme, and dialogue from the Wu-Tang films were used as skits. An emcee of the Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, also notes that a sword cutting through air molecules results in a "Wu" sound effect and the "Tang" sound effect is the result of contact made with a shield. The Mighty Wu-Tang Clan MixPresented by: DJ Mike Nick's ... Is Hy betrokke? Support the showEnjoying The Content? For the price of a cup of coffee each month, you can enable Christianityworks to reach 10,000+ people with a message about the love of Jesus!DONATE R50 MONTHLY
In this episode of People's Party, Talib Kweli sits down with U-God of the Wu-Tang Clan to discuss the formation of the group and making "36 Chambers," RZA's genius, Method Man's talent, memories of ODB, and much more.
Today, we're delving into the gritty and groundbreaking world of hip-hop with the seminal album "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" by the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. Released in 1993, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" is not just an album; it's a cultural phenomenon that forever changed the landscape of hip-hop. This album was the brainchild of a rap collective like no other, the Wu-Tang Clan, hailing from the gritty streets of Staten Island, New York. "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" is a hip-hop masterpiece that's as raw as it is poetic, as aggressive as it is introspective. The Clan, composed of RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, unleashed their lyrical prowess over RZA's rugged yet masterful production. The album is a lyrical and sonic martial arts masterpiece, where each member brings their unique style and perspective to the forefront. Tracks like "C.R.E.A.M.," "Protect Ya Neck," and "Shame on a N***a" are like verbal barrages, showcasing the Clan's intricate wordplay, vivid storytelling, and innovative flow. "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" is more than an album; it's a movement. The Clan's lyrics and style are steeped in kung-fu imagery and street tales, creating a universe that's both otherworldly and deeply grounded in reality. Their influence extends far beyond music, shaping fashion, language, and the very essence of hip-hop culture. Upon its release, the album was met with critical acclaim and garnered a dedicated following. It's now widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. The Clan's use of martial arts samples, gritty production, and their sheer lyrical prowess redefined what hip-hop could be. As we drop the needle on this vinyl gem, we invite you to join us on a lyrical journey through the rugged and innovative sounds of "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)." We'll explore the Wu-Tang Clan's impact on hip-hop culture, the album's enduring influence, and its well-deserved place in the pantheon of rap classics. So, turn up the volume and let the lyrical genius of the Wu-Tang Clan penetrate your soul on this episode of "Dem Vinyl Boyz"!

U-God was raised by the streets of Staten Island, where getting beaten up was a rite of passage that made you stronger. He was busted for driving a stolen car and assaulting a police officer. He dealt crack, and narrowly avoided a police raid on the apartment building he dealt from. He also dealt vengeance – he once came within seconds of killing a rival dope peddler. And when he finally put the violent life behind him and found freedom and joy in the music he made with Wu-Tang Clan, the ghosts of his past returned and placed his two-year old son in the crosshairs. The Wu Lead-off Hitter. INS - Inspectah Deck - has some of the most iconic bars in the Wu-Tang discography, but as much as we all love to "bomb atomically", Deck's solo work contains the least amount of Wu involvement out of all solo Wu discographies. God was jou God. God is jou skuilplek, die plek van uiteindelike veiligheid en sekuriteit. My vriend, laat Hy jou basiese menslike behoeftes bevredig wanneer hulle aangetas word. Gaan rus by Hom. Hy is groter as die berge, groter as die aarde, groter as die heelal. Dit is wie jou God is. En sy hart is oop vir jou. Sy Hart het ‘n plek net vir jou. 'n Plek vir jou waar jy altyd sekuriteit en veiligheid sal hê.God is jou God. Hy was dit altyd, Hy sal altyd jou God wees.Dit is sy Woord. Vars ... vir jou ... vandag.Enjoying The Content? For the price of a cup of coffee each month, you can enable Christianityworks to reach 10,000+ people with a message about the love of Jesus!DONATE R50 MONTHLY

Supreme Clientele is the second studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah, released on February 8, 2000 by Epic Records. The album showcases Ghostface's signature up-tempo, stream-of-consciousness rhyme style, and features guest appearances from Cappadonna, GZA, Masta Killa, Method Man, Raekwon, Redman, RZA, U-God, and others. It features affiliates of what would become members of Theodore Unit and T.M.F. Supreme Clientele contains a large amount of production from group member RZA, who also re-worked and remixed beats from other producers involved, as a means to create a unified and cohesive sound for the album.[1]Upon its release, Supreme Clientele debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 chart and number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, while selling 134,000 copies in its first week.[2] On March 8, 2000, it was certified Gold in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[3] The album featured the singles "Apollo Kids" and "Cherchez La Ghost", which, despite receiving limited airplay, went on to achieve notable chart success.Supreme Clientele was met with mostly strong reviews from music critics, despite its contrasting sound and style to that of his previous album, Ironman (1996). It was praised and noted for Ghostface Killah's obscure and creative lyricism, and for the cohesive format of production.[1] Supreme Clientele was the most acclaimed of all the second generation Wu-Tang projects, and featured the most contributions from RZA during this era.[4] Along with Ironman and Fishscale (2006), it is often ranked as Ghostface Killah's best work. It has also been regarded as one of the best solo Wu-Tang albums,[5] and has received accolades for being one of the best albums of the 2000s.[6]

We had the pleasure of interviewing iNTeLL over Zoom video! iNTeLL, mastermind behind 2ND GENERATION WU, son of Wu-Tang Clan's U-God, and carrier of the legendary hip hop collective's creative torch, ponders an important philosophical and theoretical question with producer DLP on his new album Computers For The Hood. The record aims to unite old-school with new school, featuring guest spots from hip-hop legends Method Man, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, R.A. The Rugged Man, among others. The journey to Computers For The Hood was a long and arduous one for iNTeLL, as he was having creative burnout, in addition to ongoing stresses caused by the COVID pandemic. However, this road has led to the best work of his career so far. Computers For The Hood is a tight 11 track showcase of creative partner DLP's raw old school-influenced production that still has a modern flair perfect for 2021. The beatwork serves as the perfect canvas for iNTeLL to confidently lay down memorable bars, hooks, and stories that serve as a perfect homage to his home turf of Staten Island."A few years back, when I was still earning the respect of my peers, Young Dirty Bastard had reached out to me to appear with him for several shows. At one of the shows, I met my future wife Prema777 (who is featured on the track "Django Hardware") and at another, I met DLP," explains iNTeLL about the road that led him to Computers For The Hood."Shortly after that, DLP approached me about producing a collaboration record between myself and Young Dirty Bastard. I saw this as an opportunity to also include some of the other sons of Wu-Tang, so I reached out to a Method Man's son PXWER. We ended up laying down what would later become the track 'We Here Now.' At the beginning of 2021, DLP reached back out to me and wanted to record a possible EP together. However, I was at a point of exhaustion from creating and building the 2nd Generation WU brand in addition to being burnt out from 2020.""Suddenly though, an opportunity to work with Del tha Funkee Homosapien came up," iNTeLL recalls excitedly. "He is not only one of my lyrical mentors but one of the dopest emcees to exist, so I quickly signed on for that collab." Inspired by this initial pairing, he explored the possibility of gathering a veritable collection of features and collaborators that helped solidify Computers For The Hood."We ended up being able to secure verses from Method Man, Del, the Team Backpack champion Denzil Porter, Tahmell (son of Rakim), my second collaboration with Mickey Factz, Ruste Juxx, and the king of lyrical Horrorcore R.A. The Rugged Man. This little EP turned into a full-fledged studio album with notable features, incredible production and a message that resonates."Computers For The Hood by 2nd Generation WU's iNTeLL x DLP is out now! "From the slums of Shaolin, Wu-Tang Clan strikes again The RZA, the GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killah and the Method Man..." (and also Masta Killa...) That's right. Today we're talking about the greatest rap album of all time made by the greatest rap collective of all time. It's time to enter the 36 chambers of death... "Enter the Wu-Tang" is explosive, rugged and raw, and filled with verse after verse of the nastiest bars on top of some of the greatest hip hop production ever. With RZA's beats masterfully combining the grime of gangsta rap with the gritty and violent confrontations in kung fu films, they were unstoppable. By the end of this album, you know exactly who Wu-Tang was, what they're capable of, and an incredible look at the world they were creating with their own 'Shaolin'.
