You may think you do… You may feel like the smartest person in the room Trust me, you’re not! Keep your mouth closed more often and your eyes and ears open a lot more. Watch, listen and learn… That way you’ll learn and grow a lot more! Gain what extra qualifications you can along the way. Your personal education is one of the most important things you can focus on. Always be looking for ways you can grow and expand your knowledge and never stop learning. Be willing to study, read and learn from everybody no matter who they are.     Today I am discussing the ONE thing made a massive difference in my online business Using this, I was able to generate $43,750.10 on ONE platform. I have made more in other accounts and in other platforms. I just wanted to let that sink in for a second… That’s just shy of $44,000! So it’s that POWERFUL… What is even better is that the part that made the difference now only take me 20 minutes to do. Now I am NOT saying it is 20 minutes to generating that style of income. No, I am saying the part that made the difference, and the part I attribute to driving my business now only take me 20 minutes.     After spending time in one of the many sessions within the marketing event in Portugal I was left with an aha moment... You have to entice the readers in with an intriguing title. Then your content has to flow in a manner that keeps them reading. If you then have a call to action (and you should), then you have to persuade your readers to take action. This is basically using simple (but effective) copywriting techniques. If you next consider a simple squeeze page. You have limited elements. Typically a pre-headline, headline and sub-headline and an optin box…. That’s it… So you must have enticing copy within the headlines on order for the prospects to enter their details.

So with that in mind I set out to list the 5 most basic steps you need to take in order to get yourself setup online. In the following steps I also recommend you go the premium route rather than the free services. I feel it is always best to go with the paid route as with the free services, you never actually own or fully control them. Whereas with paying for the services gives you more flexibility, customisation and additional options. Plus you do not have the threat of someone closing or banning your account. So where you can, use premium options. They are not as expensive as you might think!

Today I discuss facing overwhelm when you have a large project to complete or item that you need to complete. you are lost, you are struggling to see all of the steps We ALL face this... ...there is only one thing you can do... Only work on your next step and keep moving forward step-by-step. Imagine the task ahead of the construction workers when they set out to build the Empire State building. They had a HUGE task ahead. However they built it one brick at a time. They set a stable base, then built brick upon brick. Steel upon steel... Day-after-day, week-after-week to they finally finished it. How long did it take them? (interesting fact) One year and 45 days... Think of a rock climber. They know they want to climb to the top, they also know where they are starting. They might also have a plan, but when they begin climbing, they must only focus on the next step (with a direction in mind). That one next step is what takes them higher. I have faced this as I am building out my core members area. I have set out on creating a mammoth members area with many modules that I wish to create training around.

To Make Money Why else? Let me stop you there... I say that, yes, money is a factor! ...but is this what makes you tick? I mean, really tick within your online business? I ask, is it REALLY your motivation? You see if you are purely motivated by money and nothing else, then you most likely will not see the results or amount of money you're after. However, if you actually care about your customers, or if you actually care about making a difference or if you get a buzz out of helping others... Is this what really motivates you online? It took for me to realise that whilst making money in my business is essential for the business to continue, I would rather conduct business from a place where I can genuinely help people. It is also the reason why I have not brought any of my older digital products back online for sale... It is the reason why I have been deep in the labs creating brand new products.

    Today I want to ask you a question… How have things been going for you with your online business? Good… Or not as good as you would like it to be? If it is the second answer, then I want you to look at your mentality when it comes to your online business. Do you have the long term view or the quick buck mentality? What do I mean here… When I started out online I had the quick buck (money) mentality. Basically I wanted to earn money, but doing it the easy way. We all get sucked in by these promises. Making money online is easy… Making money whilst you sleep… I could go on. How has this worked out for you? I bet not too well… It was the same for me! My early mentality was the quick money Back in the day I was building auto blogs that pulled in content from Amazon and sprinkled in my affiliate links. I DID make sales, but my conversions sucked. I was making sales by accident. It wasn’t like my site was engaging, interesting or anything special. It wasn’t until I changed my mentality and built solid sites with real helpful content that my income started to increase. I went from a few dollars per month to over $2,000 per month consistently … The same is true for my current business model. I am not seeking to make money at all costs. No, my core values are to help others first. I want to teach and transform from the heart. If I can successfully do this, then my business has a whole different meaning for me. I am building my business with a long term view and goal. Why the long term view is a good mentality to have By building your business with the long term view, you are not going to be taking shortcuts. You will do things right and even do things that in the long term can increase your brand awareness, even if they do not directly bring you in sales or income. You know that this brand awareness and helping others is what will motivate and drive people to get to know, like and trust you and your business. Instead of people feeling that you are only in it for the money, they will feel like you actually have their best interests at heart. And you should! I am now six months into my journey and as of yet, I haven’t had any products at all for sale here within Broadcast Geeks. I have been building this platform (Broadcast Geeks) as I wanted a solid hub and place where people can come and find me, get to know me and access my content. I can and will help people, but I am also building a business. That means I will be releasing products for sale that genuinely help people. It means my products will have my heart and soul put into them, and it means I will build my business with my customers in mind. If you haven’t been gaining the traction you desire online, then I urge you to step back and take a long hard look at what your mentality has been up to now. Is it the quick buck (easy money) mentality? …and if it is look to make that change today!

    I recently had a call with a business coach where we were looking into my business and developing systems for myself moving forward. Within the call I was asked some very challenging questions, and some outright awkward ones to answer. …But i did answer them all! One such question posed to me was: How much of Chris Cole are you bringing to your business? and your blog posts, products and videos within Broadcast Geeks? Now, I am normally good at being myself within my videos, but when I thought (honestly) about this, I found that I am still a little reserved on some elements. I still hold back on opinions, being fully honest of my feelings and more keeping myself reserved. I realised that this HAS to change! You MUST do the same… You may be thinking that it might not be good business sense to bare all and be opinionated, speak out, be yourself. You could potentialy drive away people from you and your business. …I totally agree you CAN! However, you will also act like a magnet for others. They will be drawn to you. YOU will find that your personality is actually the hidden magnetic force that people are attracted to and if you feel you need to suppress this or be a different person for your business, people will subliminally pick up on this. They won’t maybe know why, but they will know that they are not seeing ALL of you. This in turn may leave them not just as drawn to you or moving on to someone who does attract them. If you think about many of the known celebrtities online, people are drawn to them because they are themselves. There is nobody like them, yet there are many who try to be like them, and it is these wannabes that are not being true to themselves. So with that end, I and going to be brining more of my personality into Broadcast Geeks and my online business. I understand it may not be for everyone but that’s their promlemo and not mine

But let me pose this question to you. How do you gain the necessary experience if you only read up on things? if you only digest and learn the information..? but never actually going out and doing things... You see - we learn more by doing! In today's post and podcast episode, I posed this question to myself; Chris - why are you doing your Podcast when you're no expert? and I decided (after I had battled with the inner voices) that I was going to make my mistakes as I move forward. it is in the doing where I will make the mistakes, and learn how to overcome obstacles that I may face. So I urge you, if you are reading this post and there is one thing you have put off die to listening to the peer pressure or inner voice telling you 'you can do this' or 'you need to learn and understand more before you can take action' Then start taking action! Just begin. Look at this website, and my Podcast. I only got back online 11th February 2017 and as of today 30 July 2017 I have built this website, published 42 posts and this is my 22nd Podcast Episode! So to answer the WHY I publish my Podcast I have broken this down into the reasons for me and also the reasons for you my listeners and readers. The reasons for ME: I have a calling to do this I enjoy it I love to give and help where possible I love the technical side of things I am growing an asset of digital content building a solid foundation branding me along the way It is another skill I want to learn I need to get better at my delivery of content It adds another dimension to my content and website I may gain a new or different audience I get to explore and try new things The reasons for YOU: You get to know me You also get to know what I stand for You will get training, advice and guidance from my podcast and posts By following along you will find I have a lot of experience that will help you I have a BIG heart and love to help people I have a calling to do this... You get to ask your questions I CAN help you I can teach you new things I am self taught To inspire you To tell you that you CAN do it no matter what There are of course a lot more reasons for me doing this, and I am sure as I grow in experience and knowledge I will move onto other things.     Problem: Immediately Starting out with fancy logos or intros FIX: Start out with a cold open, something that grabs the attention of the viewer and hooks them. You will know when you listen back Problem: Poor audio or unable to be hear FIX: Ensure you have a good microphone and gain set your levels so that you can be heard within the video Problem: Breathing over the microphone a lot FIX: This is classic from people with integrated headsets and microphones. Lower or raise the microphone away from your breathing zone and stop this annoying breathing into the microphone. Problem: Video recording beside a window FIX: if you do this, then you may be hard to see and the white balance will be off. Problem: messy background FIX: Look at your recording area if it is a talking head and tidy it up. Nobody wants to see your messy room or even worse, your dirty laundry Problem: messy desktop FIX: This is a classic for many people recording their screens. You can hide desktop icons in your computers and make it appear clean. Problem: making people sit and watch you type urls etc FIX: People do not need to sit and watch you typing out urls. either have them already typed or if you are recording, then edit it so that people don't have to watch the full thing. Trust me, they WILL Get it if you start typing and it jumps to it typed and the page is loading Problem: not having your tabs prepared in advance FIX: Plan ahead and open all necessary tabs and accounts as this will also save you from having to log into sites if you have already done so in your tabes you prepared before hitting record. Problem: having Skype on whilst recording FIX: I see this all of the time, you either can see overtime a friend logs onto SKYPE or messages them one recent video even had someone trying to call them whilst they were recording. LOG OUT of this and others when recording Problem: Mobile phone ringing or texting in the background FIX: I have also watched many videos where text messages or even phone calls happen during the training. I have even had one where they didn't edit out the call! Problem: not being able to see smaller details when explaining something FIX: sometimes it is harder to see smaller details on a page when recording your screen. Learn to zoom in on these details as some people need to see this and it saves them from struggling or having to rewatch the same portion of the video repeatedly. Simply learn to zoom when needed. Problem: poor lighting FIX: it a talking head video you need to be seen. If you do not have enough natural light, then look at turning on lights or even investing in purpose built lighting for your videos recording. This is also true for some people with webcams.     In what niche are you seeking new leads? Before we begin you need to know what niche you are looking to grow your leads in. This sounds like an obvious choice, but whenever I ask people what niche they are in, they tell me the top level market and they have not niched right down into he sub markets, or they do not understand there is a difference and this is a critical distinction to make. For example; Weight loss is a market and NOT a niche… …You’re probably thinking – What the heck Chris? Weight loss is a niche… I will tell you this… No. It is NOT! A niche would be something like; ‘The Ketogenic (Keto) Diet’. This is within the weight loss market, but niched down to a specific area within a general overall market like weight loss. Weight Loss > Dieting > ‘The Ketogenic (Keto) Diet’ Fitness and aerobic workouts is another niche, still within weightloss (or fitness), but niched down. To further sub niche, it could be ‘aerobic workouts for over 40 year olds’ Take Online Marketing – That is a Market – NOT a niche! Now if you sub niche down to you come to a deep level niche like – ‘Facebook advertising for ecommerce stores’, if you can get right down to this level, then THIS is a niche! I hope you now know what I mean by know what niche you wish to build your list within! You can always go for a general market and in most cases you will not have the same passionate people and will not have the same results from your lead magnets as they are too general.     The Essential Equipment You Need To Start Your Own Podcast Are you dreaming of starting your very own Podcast, but don’t know where to start? Maybe you’re thinking it is really complicated, you don’t know where to start, and that is why you are reading this page. I can understand, it does sound super technical to get setup, there are a million and one things you have to get done you have to get extra equipment to enable you to begin Podcasting. Or do you..? I often get asked, Chris… What equipment do I really need to start a Podcast? My answer quite often surprises them… (My Answer…) – Not very much to be honest! In short, you may only need a simple headset ($20/£15) with Microphone, a computer and somewhere to host your audio files, and that’s it. If you have a smartphone and a simple set of headphones with in-built microphone you have pretty much what you need right there. Now don’t get me wrong here, you can add a lot more bells and whistles to make your show better, the audio cleaner, better hosting with more details or basic stats so you can check and keep an eye on your essential numbers… …but to get started do you really need all of the equipment? That’s up to you to decide, but remember you can create and run your very own Podcast on a very limited budget with limited resources.     Do you get nervous or even freeze up at the thought of recording a video or stepping in front of your webcam? Would you believe I used to be the exact same… You might not, but in fact I froze up, stammered, stuttered and tripped over my words. I would get knots in my stomach when I hit the record button. I knew what I wanted to say, but as soon as I hit that record button, I would get nervous, make mistakes and never get anything done in the first take (or first five for that matter) Then once I had finished recording, I would fuss and edit for HOURS! Yet today that is different for me. People now say to me: ‘Chris, you sound confident in front of the camera’ ‘Chris, your videos sound and look good quality’ ‘Chris, can you help me with my videos?’ So what changed for my videos? I guess I didn’t give up, I worked through all of the barriers I faced (and still face) to get to the point where I am today. …and this got me thinking. Are YOU Camera Shy? Maybe you have put off or outright refused to get in front of the camera due to this fear. The thing is, if you are here reading this blog post, then you would like to get better at recording and creating videos. Now I do understand there are issues others may have that may be a bigger problem (for them) than I faced (think speech impediments…) …and this may take a lot more than my top tips, but again you may still have that desire to start recording and my advice is to keep going on your journey. Today I want to try and help you by revealing my top tips for getting over Camera Shyness or Fear of the Camera Before we set out my top tips I want to say that this is a skill you can learn over time.     Welcome to Podcast episode 13: Why You MUST Be Consistent and Persistent With Your Business and Marketing If you have been following my journey, then you may know of the turmoil that is happening in my personal life. This goes a long way to explain why I am currently struggling with my online business's focus and getting back to my online business in full. In the main, I have a lot of other stuff going on that I have to deal with, plus I also struggle to focus or spend the required time in order for me to gain proper momentum. That left me struggling with being persistent and consistent in my promise of releasing a new Podcast episode every week. This is something I do want to do, for both myself and for my subscribers and listeners. On the inside of todays episode I discuss why it is important that you must be consistent and persistent with your efforts. I also reference someone why now has celebrity status, but it only took him 25 years of hard work and effort to get there. The main takeaway I wish to get across in this episode is look to be consistent with your efforts and never give up when you are thinking things are not going your way. Whilst you are being dedicated and focused to your consistency, you are also getting better at what it is you do. Meaning that when it is your time to shine you are prepared, ready and have put in the ground work up front. Just like in the case of this very Podcast, by being consistent and focusing on delivering an episode every week, I am growing my podcasting skills, presentation skills, content library, and subscriber base one episode and subscriber at a time.

My problem was I own (and use) Audello and while I love this player, if I used this I would or could also use it for my Podcast RSS Feed.     Why You Should NOT be scared to make a change in your business I have been there too many times… I know there needs to be a change, but I ignore it or I simply walk away and never do it. I had the same feeling with my business. But the thing is, I have only been back online 7 weeks. How could I possibly need a change after a mere 7 weeks back online. You see, I simply was not happy with something. I felt it in my heart, my bones, you know , the feeling you have when you just KNOW you have to take notice of. Well that was how I felt. So I could not ignore it. What was it I needed to change? Fo me, it was the layout of this site, the blog. I had a magazine theme installed and whilst it did look nice on my PC I felt the layout of the theme and the marketing message I was conveying did not match up. I was teaching that you have to have a CLEAR marketing goal, yet when i looked at my marketing message that did not say that to me.
