The Recalibrate with Milton podcast is truly a gem that I stumbled upon and it has been a source of inspiration and guidance for me. Milton's messages are beautiful and touching, and they really hit home for me. I have found myself listening to his episodes multiple times because they resonate so deeply with me. I have even shared the podcast with my family, as I believe everyone can benefit from the messages he shares. It is evident that Milton puts a lot of effort into his work and his passion shines through in every episode.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the diverse range of topics that Milton covers. From personal growth and self-reflection to relationships and spirituality, there is something for everyone in this podcast. The way Milton combines psychology and spirituality is truly unique and it allows for a holistic approach to personal development. His words are not only informative, but they also inspire action and growth.

Another great aspect of this podcast is Milton's ability to connect with his audience. His speaking style is engaging and relatable, making it easy to listen to his episodes. He has a way of making you feel like he is speaking directly to you, addressing your struggles and offering guidance in a compassionate manner.

As much as I love this podcast, one potential drawback could be that some episodes may not resonate with everyone. Personal growth is a subjective journey, so not every topic or message will necessarily speak to every listener. However, I believe that there are enough varied topics covered in the podcast that everyone can find something valuable in it.

Overall, the Recalibrate with Milton podcast is an exceptional resource for personal growth and spiritual development. Milton's messages are inspiring, thought-provoking, and practical. Whether you're seeking guidance in relationships or looking to gain a better understanding of yourself, this podcast has something to offer. I highly recommend giving it a listen – you won't be disappointed.

In conclusion, thank you, Milton, for the incredible work you do through your podcast. Your messages have touched my heart and have helped me grow in ways I never thought possible. Keep up the excellent work and continue to bless us with your wisdom.

In this impactful Father's Day sermon titled "Sharpening Arrows: A Father's Call to Equip His Children for God's Kingdom," the speaker emphasizes the vital role of fathers in raising their children to follow God's path. The sermon begins with personal anecdotes, highlighting fathers' profound influence on their children's lives. Gratitude and thankfulness are emphasized as essential attributes for believers, reminding fathers to approach their role with a thankful heart and recognize the blessings their children are. The message urges fathers to prioritize their children's salvation above all else, seeking God's guidance and interceding on their behalf. The sermon draws from scriptural references to outline the responsibilities of fathers: teaching, exemplifying Christ's love, providing for the family, spending quality time, showing compassion, and praying ceaselessly for their children. The speaker emphasizes that children are precious blessings from God, regardless of their ease of upbringing or challenges they may present. The significant impact of a father's love and presence is explored, surpassing even the influence of a mother. The sermon underscores the unique emotional connection a father's embrace brings, shaping a child's identity and emotional landscape. Furthermore, it highlights the unparalleled role of fathers in shaping their children's future destiny. Addressing the distinction between fathers and mothers, the sermon asserts that men and women are equal in Christ but have different roles and capabilities. Three core responsibilities of fathers—presiding, protecting, and providing—are highlighted, stressing their importance in maintaining family security and well-being. The sermon raises awareness about the growing issue of fatherlessness, citing alarming statistics and its profound impact on children. It discusses the increased risks children face in areas such as poverty, substance abuse, mental health disorders, crime, and teen pregnancy when they lack a father figure. Drawing from the priestly blessing in Numbers 6:24-26, the sermon encourages fathers to bless their children and choose a path of life, offering guidance and nurturing their potential. The speaker emphasizes the need for fathers to prioritize their families and lead by example, as their influence shapes their children's perception of God the Father. The sermon underscores the importance of connecting with children's hearts, earning their trust, and providing a safe and loving environment. It urges fathers to speak words of affirmation, offer physical touch, and demonstrate active love to their children. The impact of a father's relationship with God is highlighted as a frame of reference for children's perception of their Heavenly Father. The speaker challenges fathers to become skilled warriors, equipping their children for their God-given destinies. They are urged to be authentic, knowledgeable, and willing to guide their children to places they have never been. The power of words and the prophetic nature of a father's affirmation are emphasized, encouraging fathers to speak life and potential over their children. Four ways of parenting are discussed: rules without a relationship lead to rebellion, relationship without rules lead to aggression, absence leads to desperation, and the combination of rules and relationship brings blessings. The sermon stresses that fathers should embody qualities such as faithfulness, affection, teaching, humility, empathy, and resilience. Addressing fathers who may have experienced their own traumas, the sermon encourages them to seek healing and restoration, preventing their pain from negatively affecting their children's lives. It concludes by challenging fathers to repent, seek God's healing, and commit to their most important ministry—being a father.

One of the most powerful examples of enduring the process in order to receive the blessing can be found in the biblical story of Job. Despite being a righteous man, Job faced numerous trials and tribulations, including the loss of his wealth, his children, and his health. But even in the midst of his suffering, Job held fast to his faith in God, refusing to curse Him despite the urging of his friends. In Job 42:10, we see how God ultimately turned what the enemy meant for evil into good for Job. It reads, "And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before." Through his unwavering faith and endurance, Job was not only restored to health and wealth but was also blessed with double what he had lost. The story of Job serves as a powerful reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is hope for restoration and blessings if we trust in God and endure the process.

Prov 29:18 “Where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keeps that law happy is he” My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) Vision is a powerful God-given gift that many have forsaken. Sight is of the eyes but vision is of the heart. (Helen Keller - the only thing worse than being blind is having sight yet no vision) Vision is not a “name it and claim type thing- vision goes hand in hand with God's promise for you and your family.  People of great faith are able to envision God's promises coming to fruition in their lives (affirmation and declaration without action is the beginning of insanity) A vision that comes into alignment (vertical) with God's word will produce a blessed outcome, however, a skewed vision will produce undesirable results. Dysfunction creates a distorted perception of who God is and who we are in Him.   Amos 3:3: how can two walk together if they don't come into an agreement (breakthrough won't come for an undecided mind) Indecision is closely related to doubt and fear   Paul told the people of Corinth “for we walk by faith and not by sight” Our life is a matter of faith and not sight. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1)… Corrie Ten Boom "Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.”

Unforgiveness is the act of not letting go of an offense. Holding on to hurt. Holding on to a grievance. Holding a grudge in an effort to punish the offender but at the end the only person that suffers the most is the individual that is unwilling to forgive.  To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.- C.S. Lewis Forgiveness is an act of the will and not something that is birthed out of our emotions. Unforgiveness is Rooted in PRIDE  It's narcissistic  opens the door to the enemy Grieves the HS Proof of a hardened heart Puts a stronghold on our lives Becomes bitterness and eventually affects our health Immobilizes the hand of God Brings destruction into our lives IT IS FUELED BY HATE You know you have issues with unforgiveness when: You are easily angered You are impulsive You want to air your grievances You are compulsive You don't take responsibility for your feelings You are constantly sick You gossip about that individual You feel righteous and entitled Jesus told his disciples (Luke 17:1) ”its impossible for no offenses to come your way” (NKJV) you can't avoid them, they are not selective its not “if they come” its when they come OFFENSES WILL COME its impossible to hide from it you can't dodge it the longer you live the more you will have to face them   Your capacity to process and manage offenses will determine your overall outcome.   If you are not able to confront and overcome an offense what makes you think that God is going to entrust you with a greater task   God's not looking for perfection just disposition. He's not looking for talent, he's in search of hearts that are meek and gentle.    If you get bent out of shape over the most minute situations you can forget about being commissioned by Him for something that's bigger than you.

While this narrative is a good start, it does not explain why Smith would perform such a socially unacceptable and inappropriate behavior—notwithstanding a form of physical violence—in such a public forum. Words are not simply sounds caused by our mouths shaping air passing through our larynx. Words have real power. God spoke the world into being by the power of His words (Hebrews 11:3). Humans are made in God's image, and our words also have power. To be clear, human words do not have the power to manifest reality. But our words do more than convey information; they have an impact on people. The power of our words can burden one's spirit, even stir up hatred and violence. Words can exacerbate wounds and inflict them directly. Alternately, words can build up and be life-giving (Proverbs 18:21; Ephesians 4:29; Romans 10:14–15). Of all the creatures on this planet, only humans have the ability to communicate through the spoken word. The power to use words is a unique and powerful gift from God. Our words have the power to destroy and the power to build up (Proverbs 12:6). The writer of Proverbs tells us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21). Are we using words to build up people or destroy them? Are they being filled with hate or love, bitterness or blessing, complaining or compliments, lust or love, victory or defeat? Words are tools that can make life better, but any tool can be misused. Words are so important that we are going to give an account of what we say when we stand before the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36–37).

"So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." - FDR (1933 Inaugural address)  Fear's Impact:    Physical health.  Fear weakens our immune system and can cause cardiovascular damage, gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome and decreased fertility.  It can lead to accelerated aging and even premature death. Memory.  Fear can impair formation of long-term memories and cause damage to certain parts of the brain, such as the hippocampus. This can make it even more difficult to regulate fear and can leave a person anxious most of the time. To someone in chronic fear, the world looks scary and their memories confirm that. Brain processing and reactivity.  Fear can interrupt processes in our brains that allow us to regulate emotions, read non-verbal cues and other information presented to us, reflect before acting, and act ethically. This impacts our thinking and decision-making in negative ways, leaving us susceptible to intense emotions and impulsive reactions. All of these effects can leave us unable to act appropriately. Mental health.  Other consequences of long-term fear include fatigue, clinical depression, and PSTD.

People ask me… what should I focus on in 2022 “Get Your House in Order” A house without order is a dysfunctional one and “dysfunction breeds distorted vision" Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision the people perish. For our homes to be in order we must first make sure that we are vertically aligned with the true God. He should have no rivals - there should be no idolatry in our homes. At times prosperity becomes the greatest impediment (obstruction). Because if the enemy can't make you bad he will make you busy. I am often asked by parents, how can we raise solid and emotionally intelligent children that will thrive in life? The answer is simple “allow the child to witness dad loving mom, mom honoring dad consistently. This is the key. Properly functioning marriages, as described by the Apostle Paul in Eph 5, help the world to see God and his love for them. They help us relate to God, giving us an image — a metaphor, a picture — to look at and glimpse the divine. Good marriages give us a tangible picture of Jesus and his love for the church.  Love is an act of the will, accompanied by an emotion that leads to action on behalf of its object. - The maximum expression of this type of love happened at Calvary on a cross.  Satan's goal is to divide and destroy and his target is the family nucleus. His three greatest weapons: DECEPTION / TEMPTATION / ACCUSATIONS. This is how he establishes strongholds in your life that keep you from God's best for your life.  A spiritual stronghold is a faulty, erroneous thinking pattern that robs you from God's best and subsequently affected your children and future generations.  The four R's to getting your home in order Reveal (Psalm 139:23) Search my heart of God and put my thoughts to the test and show me if there is any iniquity within me.  Repent (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  Renew (Rom 12:2) Don't conform to the way of the world but be transformed by the renewing of gourmand so that you may test and approve God's perfect, pleasing and good will for your life. Resist (James 4:7) Submit to the Lord, resist the enemy and he shall flee)

Today's culture is very quietly but yet forcefully inducting the next generation into a state of identity confusion. This is not relegated to the non-believing generation, Christian men and women are also the target and they are getting hit hard. The Apostle Paul wrote "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ".  The current educational system and trends on social media are trying to change the next generation's identity. Through propaganda they are repeating the same message which over time, no matter big the lie, can become someone's truth. Repetition is key. Ideas, philosophies, and deceptions repeated over time and never refuted are accepted in the subconscious mind as truth. Over time these ideas form strongholds. A stronghold is a faulty thinking pattern based on lies and deception. Deception is the primary weapon of the devil. The enemy builds to build brick by brick, a wall of lies, with inaccurate ideas about God, self, and others.  The three greatest weapons the enemy uses against individuals are: deception, temptation, and accusations.  Spiritual strongholds begin with a thought, it then becomes a consideration which develops into an attitude. An attitude leads into action, which repeated over time becomes a habit. And a habit establishes a power base for the enemy.

At times our foundations are shaken by certain situations and circumstances that hit us out of the blue. Unknowingly we are confronted with pain coming from all directions and we question how a Good God could ever allow something like that in our lives. It seems like everything is coming apart and beneath us. But I want to remind you that those who put their faith in God will not be swallowed up by such events. We have a firm foundation in God! Even in the midst of affliction God is at work doing a new thing in us. When the waters roar and the mountains shake we can stand firm. As Charles Spurgeon wrote: “Faith rests on a firmer basis, and is not to be moved by swelling seas. Evil may ferment, wrath may boil, and pride may foam, but the brave heart of holy confidence trembles not.” Even when everything seems to be against us, Christians can remain at peace. This doesn't mean we will never go through storms for we do. It means Christ is with us in the storm and he brings peace in the midst of that storm.

The "Spiritual Kintsugi" episode a few weeks ago was inspired by a conversation that I had with Maria Bridwell. And today she is my guest on Recalibrate. I hope that her journey and testimony inspire you to break free from toxic thought patterns and to see yourself healed and moving forward. Maria shared from her heart and there are a lot of take-aways in her story.  Every moment of every day you are changing your brain with your thoughts in a positive or negative direction. Every time you think and choose, you cause structural change in your brain. Your thoughts impact your spirit, soul and body. Dr. Caroline Leaf's 21 Day Detox - 5 daily steps Step 1: Gather 2 Corinthians 10:5 - “we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (What is the word or phrase that continually runs through your mind. Example: Could have, should have, would have, if only statements or if I wouldn't have done this...then that would have/haven't happened) Step 2: Focused Reflection Philippians 4:8-9 - “Finally brothers, whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” (Now, ask, answer and discuss your thoughts with yourself using lots of why questions. Example: Why do I have this thought repeat through my mind? Where or when did this thought originate? How does it affect me physically?) Step 3: Write Journaling your thoughts, as specifically as you can will help you add clarity to what thoughts are affecting you the most. Tear down the walls that may be blocking the progress and get to the root. When you can see it before your eyes, Holy Spirit can begin to bring revelation and healing for these different areas. Step 4: Revisit Time to revisit what you wrote. Look now at how to make change happen. You were not designed to carry these thoughts and burdens by yourself, invite Holy Spirit to reveal to you what you need to change. It's time we rewire our thoughts with His thoughts. Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.  Step 5: Active Reach Now put action behind it! This stage is where you begin to change your toxic thought into a positive thought. To reach out and say, “I choose to believe what God says about me!” This is where you reach beyond where you are. Example: It's not just the decision to forgive, it's the actual forgiving. It's not just the decision to stop dwelling on the past, but the actual removal of that thought and change to focus on the future. Time to line it up! I will not say this...I will say this.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400-year-old technique actually highlights the "scars" as a part of the design. Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful and resilient. God is the Potter and we are the clay. He places us on the Potter's wheel and spins us while fashioning us with a purpose. Potter's apply heat to the vessel in order to create a more resilient and beautiful one. In life we go through a similar process while becoming a vessel fo God to use. It is a process. Trials (heat) and tests are like the heat of the potter's oven which over time cause us to become stronger and more resilient.  When we are broken, He takes the pieces and puts us back together with grace and love all while adding more value to us and making us more beautiful.  Emotional and Spiritual brokenness can mean a lot of things. It may imply a messy life full of imperfection. It may mean being heartbroken from a past relationship. It may mean emotional scarring from the deep wounds of the past. Sometimes, brokenness makes us a victim; for others, it motivates us to be strong. Brokenness will either make us better or bitter, we decide.

Unforgiveness is a sin that will destroy its own container. Unforgiveness is a sin that will destroy you like an incurable cancer. Unforgiveness is a sin that causes bitterness in our life. The Bible warns about bitterness: “Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled” (Hebrews 12:15). The word “bitterness” comes from the Greek word “pikria.” It's used in Acts 8:23 of a condition of extreme wickedness, “gall of bitterness” or “bitter gall.” Romans 3:14 says it's a mouth full of cursing and bitterness. Ephesians 4:31 says its “bitter” hatred; and in Hebrews 12:15 it's a root of “bitterness,” producing “bitter” fruit. Education is by far the easiest way to capture and influence the minds of the next generation. Between the ages of 5-18 a child will spend a total of 16,000 hours in a school exposing his/her mind to the philosophies and ideologies of the teacher. The same child will spend no more than 750 hours at church however they will expose their minds to social media an average of 15,000 hours during the same period of time. So the question is, who has the greatest power to mold and shape the minds of children based on the length of exposure?  We are in the middle of a cultural war - a war of philosophies and ideas. The war is subtle yet consistent. It is fashioned in such a way that you don't feel the heat increasing and before you know it you have been burned. You can no longer just allow you child to have access to channels like Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network or even Disney without first reading the reviews regarding that particular movie or show. The agenda is quite obvious. I recall allowing my son back in the 90's to watch a ver innocent/educational show called Blues Clues. I didn't feel back then that I needed to monitor him while watching the little blue dog, however now if you turn to Blues Clues on the same channel you might find a drag queen singing songs about families composed of two daddies or two mommies in an effort to normalizing such idea in the minds of the children. The Bible says above all else guard your heart for it determines the course of your life. Guarding your heart requires guarding the doorway to the heart which is the mind. Children have no filter, understanding, or training to equip them to guard their hearts and therefore as parents/grandparents it is our responsibility to do so.
