The TikTok-ification of Self-Care (And How to Fix It) with Dr. Pooja LakshminIn this episode of The WorkWell Podcast™, Jen Fisher speaks with Dr. Pooja Lakshmin, psychiatrist, mental health advocate, and author of "Real Self Care." Together they unpack the commercialization of wellness and explore why so many women feel caught between achieving everything and finding time for authentic self-care. They navigate the complexities of caregiving, adult friendships, and finding hope in challenging times.Episode Highlights:The four principles of real self-care: boundaries, compassion, values, and powerWhy the "pause" is the true boundary - not simply saying noThe invisible burden of elder caregiving and why it's so difficult to discuss at workHow to maintain meaningful adult friendships when life gets overwhelmingUnderstanding hope as an active practice rather than wishful thinkingThe importance of finding small moments of joy and connection in daily lifeQuotable Moment:"Real self-care is an internal process. Boundaries, compassion, values, and power - those four internal principles, that's the work of real self-care. And then once you've done that, then you go to yoga, then you do your meditation. But if you're not using those internal principles and not doing that internal work first, then the external tools will be empty." - Dr. Pooja LakshminLyra Lens:In this edition, Dr. Kendall Browne, Clinical Psychologist and Director at Lyra Health, unpacks the concept of "the pause" that Dr. Lakshmin identified as crucial for boundary-setting. She explains that while pausing seems simple, implementing it proves challenging—especially for women who feel pressure to respond instantly. Dr. Browne offers practical strategies for habitualizing this pause and distinguishes between different boundary types: porous (saying yes too often), inflexible (saying no reflexively), and purposefully permeable (thoughtful decisions about when to engage).Resources:This episode of The WorkWell Podcast™ is made possible by Lyra Health, a premier global workforce mental health solution. There's something that feels almost criminal about saying no to a good opportunity, right? It looks great on paper, it's in alignment with your goals, the money is forecasted, the deliverables are clear, and you've even mentally committed to it… but something inside you says, “This isn't it.”That happened to me recently, and in this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on the decision I made to walk away from a highly aligned opportunity—and why.Let me be clear: this wasn't just any opportunity. It was one we'd already factored into our 2025 revenue plan. It was a perfect fit on paper, and I'd been expecting (and prepping for) the call for months. But here's the thing… when it came time to sign the dotted line, I couldn't do it.It made no logical sense. And my COO? She was stunned. But as I explain in this episode, I believe our bodies are pattern-spotting machines. And sometimes what we call “intuition” is actually our brain detecting something off—even when we can't articulate why.So here's what I did: I sat with that feeling, but I didn't stop there. I forced myself to go find the facts to justify the feelings.Because while I don't believe in building a business on emotion, I do believe in using intuition as a prompt—and then using data to make a final decision.Inside this episode, I'll walk you through:The opportunity I turned down and why it was so hard to say noThe process I use to reverse-engineer my intuition into factsHow I define “productive vs. busy” in my daily work lifeWhy trusting yourself is the best business strategy you'll ever invest inIf you've ever felt torn between logic and gut instinct—or wondered how to tell when an opportunity is right—this episode is for you.Your goals don't require you to say yes to everything.Sometimes the most strategic move is walking away.Click >>PLAY

Today's summer rewind is a re-release of one of our favourites that we keep coming back to. We'll be back in September with brand new interviews! This might come as a surprise, but telling people “no” isn't actually one of the seven deadly sins. Here's what actually happens when you say “no” to things you don't align with that consistently drain you: You open up all of the doors for the “HELL YES” opportunities to come flooding in!But if you're anything like us and tend towards people pleasing, creating boundaries can feel foreign. And that inherent desire to avoid conflict and keep the peace can often do more harm than good. That's why we've committed to learning how, and when, to prioritize our own needs, so we can show up as our best selves for all the wonderful things we say yes to. Because we can't do it all, and our time and energy are finite resources. There's a lot of talk, and a lot to be said, for the power of Yes, but No hasn't gotten the same star treatment and we think it's time to change that. From increasing productivity and preventing burnout to building healthy relationships, this week we're giving “No” the rebrand it deserves!Join us as we chat about:Overcoming the need to people-pleaseHow to rewire your brain to make different decisionsOur one exception for avoiding “no”The ways no has changed our lives and opened new doorsHow to set healthy boundaries and communicate effectivelyTips for getting better at saying noThe importance of honesty and vulnerabilityThe 3 questions to help you make any decisionWe hope this helps you harness the power of doing less shit that you don't enjoy, so you can make space for all the stuff that's worth it.For show notes and more adulting tips, visit: teachmehowtoadult.caSign up for our monthly adulting newsletter:teachmehowtoadult.ca/newsletter Follow us on the ‘gram:@teachmehowtoadultpodcast @yunggillianaire@cailynmichaanFollow us on TikTok:@teachmehowtoadult Sign up for our monthly adulting newsletter:teachmehowtoadult.ca/newsletter Follow us on the ‘gram:@teachmehowtoadultmedia@gillian.bernerFollow on TikTok: @teachmehowtoadult
What if you weren't what people expected you to be?Today I want to introduce you to Daniel, Daniel is someone that at first glance you notice a tall strong man, maybe one that you can't read right away, maybe you even have an idea of what he is like…I want to invite you to listen to this, to listen to Daniel as he shares life and how it has impacted him Speaking to Daniel gave me in so many ways, permission to slow down, to be present myself, to not rush through something but to listen in whatever time passed Daniel is one of the most genuine and gentle souls I've ever met, someone that sees intentionally and values deeply not just human life as a whole; but in what you will hear, human life in a single soulThere are people I meet from time to time that remind me to simply be in a single moment, not just to “not worry and focus on the present” but to truly, in that conversation, be fully presentWe chat about his journey as he is biking across Italy, about working in healthcare with a post war generation, about what is said at the end of life and what is notHe shares why saying goodbye well, and giving a heartfelt thank you can be the difference of valuing someone, seeing someone, and giving them peace as life comes to an endDaniel has this presence about him, not overbearing, not timid, but present; and in a way I am truly grateful for, he gave me space to do the sameSo tune in today and meet Daniel, hear what has excited him, and even what chased him while on his bike in Tuscany, learn what life has taught him, and if you will, allow it to impact you as it has for meAnd to you Daniel thank you, thank you for seeing me and valuing this conversation, for the heart in which you are so intentionally impacting humanity, for your sincerity and trust in allowing me to share a part of you with others in this conversation. You are a beautiful human and it is an honor to know you

Nothe Fort in Weymouth, on the Dorset coast. An old sea fort that celebrated its 150th birthday in 2022. For most of these years, it has been able to stand, looking out to the sea around Portland, amidst pristine clear night silence. Against the velvety quiet, tidal water ebbs and flows, rises and falls, swells and recedes, softly, around semi-submerged rocks. It's water that has a slow motion, sleepy sound. It's a soundscape that will have been heard by many a night watchman. And perhaps also the odd soul, curious enough to be awake at this time. But did the sea sound the same here 150 years ago as it does now? It isn't possible to say. We can't ask the people who knew. The sea, the rocks, the currents do change over long spans of time. So perhaps they did hear something slightly different, back then. Or maybe not. What we can hear in this recording, that we made by leaving the Lento box overnight in a tree beside Nothe Fort, capturing and witnessing the night hours, is from April 2023. We hope to get back to Nothe Fort before too long, to explore the museum again, and make another overnight recording that future generations will be able to listen to, and compare, with how it sounds to them, in 150 years time.

The soundscene is of a smooth, sunrise sea, heard from a tree, growing up out of a bundle of boulders, close to the water's edge. It's early April, and just after daybreak. The Lento kit is in the tree, capturing the wide spatial quiet of this place with nobody about, right beside Nothe Fort in Weymouth on the south coast of England. Ahead, looking south, the sea. West is Portland. East is Weymouth, then Durdle Door, near to Lulworth Cove. Here, in this little settled spot, and from far left of scene, the sea seems to be breathing, softly, as it sweeps the shingle at the foot of the fort's huge parapet wall. Perhaps it's still asleep. Has it not heard the blackbird? Has it not heard the wren? Or the garden warbler? Maybe. In a dream. From right of scene, where the swell's near and breaking over the boulders, the sea's very much awake. Awake, and moving. Rising, falling. Gently washing the sunlit sharp rocks, in slow, circling motions. High above, in wide circles, are the seagulls. Calling brightly to each other in the first light air. And some stray crows. And ducks. And something else. Something deep. Something that hums. It is, almost musical. Not animal. Or geomorphological. Too powerful, too omnipotent, for that. It's the kind of sound that isn't in the air. But is the air. A ship. The low humming engine, of a daybreak ship. Moving, very gradually across the horizon, like a far drifting cloud.

Peering out from atop the high seawall of Nothe Fort. Two o'clock in the morning. High tide, and the sea below feels so near. Overhead the sky is faintly luminous. But is dense black, out over the sea. Even blacker out over the invisible presence of Portland, somewhere over to the right. Hearing the night's velvet silence, rippled by slow moving, crisp edged waves. Crisp edged, watery waves, that sound like shapes. Ocean swells, that fill the spaces between the submerged rocks. Sway the empty moored boats. Are these waves just normal waves? Or have they come here, to Nothe Fort, for a reason? Notice how they hang around, at the foot of the fort's huge parapet wall. How, in graceful arching circles, they seem to come, but not really go. Come, and join other waves already arrived, to combine, and elaborate, and form new, even more graceful watery shapes. Watery shapes, that swirl in the dead of night around the ancient stone footings of Nothe Fort. ------------------ This is the third episode from our night recording from the Fort. Listen to episode 124 and episode 118 for more from this wonderfully peaceful place. ------------------ Big Lento thanks to Exploration Project on Twitter who kindly found a perfect photo of sea at night we could use in this episode to illustrate it. Thank you!

It's the dead of night. Everything still. A panoramic stillness, stretching for miles, across this coastal Dorset landscape. The tide's in, and without the chivvying warmth of day to energise it, the sea has calmed. Calmed, and reduced, into gentle, lullaby rhythms. You can feel it ten yards to the left, the sound mirroring presence of the fort. And sense the drop, just a few steps in front, sixty sheer feet or more, down into the water below. With your elbows wedged onto the top stones, peer out. Not with your eyes, with your ears. Peer into the blackness and imagine yourself as night watch. How long can you go before these slow rocking waves rock you to sleep? Don't fight it though. Let yourself instead drift into a state of wakeful rest. An uncluttered form of vigilance, with all attention focused onto the rippling surface of the water. This slowly rocking, lullaby sea is filling and emptying, filling and emptying, in perfect aural detail, along the immense stone footings of this old, long-standing south coast sea fort. ------------------------------------------------------ Nothe Fort was built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour and is well worth a visit. With its ramparts, gun decks and underground maze of tunnels the fort is perched at the edge of open tidal water at Weymouth, on the south coast of England. Our warm and special thanks go to Radio Lento supporters Caz and Tymn for the creation of this episode. They suggested this location for an all-night record, and helped us set up and take down the kit. We're looking forward to returning to this area to capture more as soon as we can.

Are you letting the things life has taught you define you or refine you? This is a big week. I'm turning 50. Can you even believe that? I remember looking at 50 as being so old. Now I know age is just a number. There is a lot of trauma around my birthday and I'm still doing the work around that pain. But I've learned I can hold space for both grief and gratitude. I'm here for it all. I've found no other education for experience and wisdom other than through the Ph.D. degree called life. I've learned, mostly the hard way, to be refined by the things I have been through, instead of letting them define me. That is what this episode is all about. On this episode of The Leadership Formula, I'm going to walk you through the top 10 things I have learned in 50 years. Including what has challenged me as Enneagram 8 and a few lessons that might challenge the other Enneagram types. Listen in to learn about the soul-honoring practices I live by and what I lean into to feed my passion and mission to pay it forward and leave a legacy. I'm forever grateful and I can't wait to share this special episode with you today. What You Will Learn Why finding happiness and balance in life begins with saying no Why 2s and 9s have a strong need to soften the blow of the word noThe 2 reasons why not every battle is yours to fightHow embracing season, reason, lifetime can help you discern the value of the relationships in your lifeWhy adopting a less is more lifestyle leaves you with more for what really mattersWhy W.I.F.T. [what's in it for them] is both the art of communication and the gift of the EnneagramHow to emulate the playful side of 7s to tap into the fountain of creativity, connection, and moneyThe secret to an even energy exchange in your relationshipsThe key to putting what you've learned through the Ph.D. degree called life into practice The real reason why ‘the work' is not done until you take your last breathConnect with Tracytracyomalley.comwww.instagram.com/tracy_omalleywww.facebook.com/tracy.omalleytwitter.com/TracyOMallwww.linkedin.com/in/tracy-o-malley/Resources Book an Enneagram Kickstart Session:http://tracyomalley.com/workwithme/Email info@tracyomalley.com

Welcome back to the newest installment of Power 180- 3 minutes of Housing Literacy that can change your life (sponsored by Powerful Homes). Today's question: What is your answer to HOW? What comes up when you think about the impossible task or something that scares you? Since this is a podcast about home ownership…what stops you from taking the leap to buy a home? Most likely, it's all the things related to how: money, down payment, maintenance…and all of the unknowns. Here at Powerful Homes, we always say that the answer to how is YES. What do we mean by that and how can we prove that it really works? It is all about: -Committing to the long game and going ALL IN on something -Believing and trusting that you have what it takes -Putting your foot down and rejecting the idea of NOThe average person hears the word NO over 150,000 times before they turn 18. We are programmed to believe that we cannot do things or have things. We have to make a very intentional decision to stop that trend. We are BRAVER than we know. And STRONGER than we think.
In this GYDA Talks, Robert talks to Mark Wilkinson. Mark is a multiple business owner, coach, speaker and published author. Originally, music was Mark’s life as an international house music DJ and record producer. He was resident DJ at the famed Ministry of Sound in London, played music in 65 different countries, and achieved a UK Top 10 hit!At 33 years of age, Mark collapsed with an incurable disease. It was the start of a hellish experience as his body froze up over the next 18 months resulting in him being unable to walk. He was in constant agony and lived on painkillers. His loss of health and financial setbacks eventually led to bankruptcy, depression, loneliness, and suicidal thoughts. On a detox in Scotland, Mark was given a DVD of The Secret. In it, he learned from Bob Proctor that disease is two words: dis-ease. This brand-new information completely opened Mark’s mind to new ways of thinking, feeling, and being. He began to study philosophy and personal development to detoxify and cure his body, eventually completing four marathons. After hitting rock bottom, Mark took positive action, overcame his health issues, and re-educated himself in a new career in construction health and safety. He worked at the London Olympic Stadium for the 2012 Games and then at London Heathrow Airport as HSE Manager overseeing their entire commercial construction portfolio. He next became Head of HSE at a division of a residential home developer having overall HSE responsibility on a 90-acre, £1 billion project.During this time, Mark Wilkinson was introduced to the UK’s largest landlord and self-made millionaire, Kevin Green, and completed his Kevin Green Wealth (KGW) property wealth coaching programme. As a result, Mark was asked to join the KGW coaching team to share his knowledge of business, property investing, and wealth management. In 2018, Mark set up his own Health and Safety consultancy, which meant he could also focus on his various property businesses and develop as a coach and speaker. Mark Wilkinson’s debut book Life Remixed™ launched in February 2021. The book tells the story of his roller coaster life as a DJ, how he lost everything, and how he remixed his life. Mark is now a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management (FInstLM) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Safety and Health (CMIOSH). He holds an NVQ7 Master’s in Strategic Management and Leadership (MPhil) and plans to study next for a PhD in Directional Leadership. He is also an E-Colors practitioner and coach. If you are big on the self-education world, there would be no way you won’t recognize our today’s amazing guest. He is a multiple New York Times best selling author, serial entrepreneur, and investor, and for 20+ years has been dedicated to delivering self-education to those seeking transformation and success. Recently, he partnered with Tony Robbins and Russell Brunson in their KBB (Knowledge Broker Blueprint) Method to teach people how to build a knowledge business. Did you get his name now? Yes, our esteemed guest is no other than Mr. Dean Graziosi. One of the reasons why people were really drawn to him is because of his vulnerability. He shared a depth of his failures, his highs and lows, and even his personal marriage life to teach us the lesson of the beauty of being vulnerable. People of all sorts of walks of life can relate to Dean, because as what he says, whatever level we are at our life today, he’d been there. He started or has been involved in 13+ companies, some have failed but surely have changed lives all around the world. But his life is always beautiful. He grew up in a dysfunctional family, where his parents divorced. He learned how to keep his mouth shut, just so his parents won’t argue. He barely graduated high school and did not have any college degree. He even went through his own divorce, which at first he felt was a failure and that he is following his parents’ bad example. But the day that he realize he needed to be honest and vulnerable, things change for the best. Dean is big on the “impostor syndrome” topic. Most, if not all of us, have something to share with the world to make it a better place. However, this impostor syndrome shuts us. Listen to Dean and understand that you have a voice and the world needs to hear it. Step up now, more than ever, because the world needs you! Be ready to be geared up to become your best self by listening to the powerful wisdom of our guest today. To those seeking transformation and success, here’s your perfect podcast! Here’s What You Missed The power of being vulnerableThe power of saying noThe power of finding your right tribe and mentor to condense decades of learning into daysRiches is in the niches- Is that true?Great tips on how to share/teach your truth and story to the worldThe world needs you- how can you step up? Knowledge Nuggets [2:26] No matter where you are in your journey, I promise you I've been there. I've been at the lowest of lows and I've been blessed to be at the highest of highs and everywhere in between my personal life, my business life… [8:20] I just realized I was doing the world a disservice by holding any of the crap back. So I let my self be vulnerable and share my story. [9:11] Nobody can deny another level of us if we identify, if we use that journey as our fuel, not our anchor. Something about being vulnerable. Really just helps you self identify, who you really are and what your values are. [11:34] That is what I wish for every single person watching that you have the success, the strength and the depth of wisdom to say no, to say no more than you've ever said in your life. [13:50] We can condense decades into days. Find somebody who's already done what you've done and do everything in your power to have them mentor. Find a way to cut the learning curve. And, I think today our access to self-education to learning from others is, is so readily available. [16:15] My perfect avatar, someone that knows they can't settle for half of what their potential is. I believe that there are ways more people that have a desire for more that just don't invoke it or don't wake it up. And if I can wake it up. Then I did my job. [17:45] Dale Carnegie: "The biggest plight of our world is knowing you have more potential and not using it." [21:43] The riches are in the niches. Cause that's how you get momentum. That's how you start. So the riches are in the niches only cause it's a starting point. As you see, I didn't settle for the niches. [24:03] when I say burn the boats in my eyes, it's even if it's an hour a day, commit, go deep, shut off the phone, obsess on it. Like your life depends on it. Just remember, it's easier to live hard now and easier later than easy now and hard for the rest of your life. [28:10] In every teaching moment, we all had the three S's. We had a struggle, we searched for the answer, and then we found a solution. Struggle search solution. Understanding that framework and then putting the right people in the room and all of a sudden, the one thing that you were missing goes up your confidence [30:02] I believe your tribe should be a group of people that are doing as well as you and a little better. Napoleon Hill in 1937 said a mastermind is just two. It can be two people. When two people come together, collectively share their wisdom and there's a third mind created. [39:04] Be vulnerable, be transparent, say it like it is because it's the, it's the quickest way to healing. [43:45] The world has gone through a major shift and it's still in the midst of it. And there's lots of craziness going on around the world. And I would say if there was ever a time for you to be a role model, to be a leader, to step up, is now. The world needs you. If The Foundations Be Destroyed..Guest contributor: Randy Pritts1 “I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! 2 The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. 3 The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?"4 But the Lord is in his holy Temple; the Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. 5 The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. 6 He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds. 7 For the righteous Lord loves justice. The virtuous will see his face.”-Psalm 11 (NLT)Allow me to rephrase this for our current consideration: If the foundations of civil society be destroyed, what can the righteous do? I will explain why.Religion and PoliticsThe old adage "religion and politics don't mix" no longer fits. At one time, it may have been polite for the saints to bite their tongues and not ruffle anyone's feathers. However, in the current social climate, politics is exactly where the ungodly is making his most ardent and divisive attack. The foundations of civil society are being destroyed, and being nearly destroyed, what is left that the righteous can do? In this psalm (kjv@Psalm:11 ) we see the wicked "bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart". Let there be no mistake that it is at the upright he is pointing his bow. So frequent are these attacks, and uncomfortable, that the saint's soul might be tempted to say "Flee as a bird to your mountain". This psalm is not about what the wicked are doing however, no it is about the saint on which this psalm focuses. Under pressure and ensuing wickedness, what is the response of the righteous? The mountain is a tempting place for us to flee. After all, what matter is it of ours what this society chooses for itself to become? What matters is that "the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright". Therefore, "The LORD trieth the righteous". Like as with precious metals, HE puts them to the test in a foundry to separate us from the dross and prove to us HIS righteousness's worth. This separation and purification is not to be sought from atop some distant mountain top away from it all. It comes only from being in the boil and tumult of the cauldron's hottest flames. For us, no doubt, these are dangerous and unfamiliar grounds. So much so, that it must be said to us as a reminder that "In the LORD,” the saint must put his or her trust. Before we run out onto the political and social battlefield shooting at whatever target seen fit, let's better consider verse four at the heart of this psalm:“The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord's throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.”- Psalm 11:4"The LORD is in his holy temple” (Gods Holiness)Our LORD is much different from the lords of the rest of this world. This LORD alone is holy. It is not for this LORD to rule as we see fit. Who are we? Are we holy in the same sense? Not unless we allow HIS reign to have its effect upon us to such an extent that we reflect nothing but HIS holiness. Sadly, this is something that in our haste, we often neglect to maintain. There have been plenty of similar occasions when we have raced onto the battlefield with our thoughts and bias, our beliefs, our strict legalism, our own insistence and our way of fixing things - only to shoot ourselves or our brothers in the foot. And by our inept misrepresentations of Christ, the person and purposes of Christ have been ill presented and represented. "the LORD'S throne is in heaven” (Gods Reign And Judgement)The view of the battlefield that this LORD has from above is much different from ours here in the trenches. What is right in our own eye, so often is not the correct place from which strategic judgments should be made. Countless times we have foolishly played right into our enemy's stronger hand. No, this is a different kind of war, fought with different kinds of weapons - not the weapons we bring in from home on our own. Our fleshly weapons do not suffice. "his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men” (The Inescapable Watching of Gods Eye)As saints, we should never think that this LORD's critical eye is not upon us as well. HIS eye beholds all the children of men. If anything certain can be said of the scriptures, it is that this LORD's eye is more upon HIS saints - more than any other. "The wicked and him that loveth violence,” this righteous LORD may "hateth" but, "the LORD trieth" with a keen loving interest those whom HE has chosen and imputed HIS righteous covering over - desiring from them a willing and constant improving compliance. The Search for AnswersIt is quite natural for the world at large to neglect these crucial political and social foundations: God's holiness.God's reign and judgment. The inescapable watching of God's eye. This is how they end up with this unruly and divisive climate that they have trapped us into. Neglect. The wicked neglect the holy things. They also ask, "What can be done?” “What can the wicked do?” and answer it with, "radicalize what we've been doing and cram it down the peaceable and law-abiding citizen's moral conscience". These citizens, these masses, have become easy prey for the wicked to take full advantage of for much more wicked and hidden purposes. They have been made to feel disenfranchised, victimized, systematically oppressed, made to covet what they do not have for themselves, and become inflamed - led by the snoot of social compassion by the wicked to a place upside-down, where upright and civil society would rather not go - forsaking God and holy things. It is quite inexcusable however when the congregation of saints also personally neglect these pillars of sanity. That is how the saints end up in the unenviable and indefensible position of having allowed these societal ills to fester unattended and undressed for far too long. Instead of becoming influencers of society, we saints are labeled the neanderthal - we are the archaic, we are the racist and insensitive and bigot. We ponder, “how did it all came to this?” What is left that we might do? Well there is not much of anything left to do when we've already allowed the foundations to collapse in all around us. That is unless the LORD Himself is willing to do something about it through us.Some saints might ask, "What is it that is different about this particular age?”Lets observe:Today, there is the talk of "cutting the tree down at the trunk.” Marxism exists in this country like it has never existed before. In Marxism there will be no space afforded for this LORD we freely today speak of here, nor will there be a place for these foundations - not even the thought of HIM or them. What do we do then? The Marxist doctrine plans to use Socialism as the blowtorch to clear and level the field for this “inevitable", they say, "stateless society". No one is served by this wicked ideology in the end - not the disenfranchised, nor the victim, nor the impoverished, not even those foot soldiers fighting for it - nor the elite, nor intellectual, not even the socially compassionate. By that time, these all will have been proven to have been "useful idiots” - as will have, the saint. This truth has been proven numerous times in the previous century. Is it time now for this to be proven again? For Country? Yes and NoThe psalmist nearly pleads for us, the church - saints! - to sing forth in unison: "In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?" A good many of us, I believe, are being guided by the scripture such as the Psalms and by the Holy Spirit to replenish the “front-line” as a test of this generation's metal. It is not that this country is morally superior and worth the extra fight. It is not that this country does not have massive problems needing to be addressed. It is that the "righteous LORD loveth righteousness” and so should we, and that the LORD is our foundation bedrock no matter what the country. If the godless have made it close to impossible socially and politically for the upright to operate in, and attack us politically and socially and ever increasingly, then it is time for the foundations to be upheld and boldly defended, Not for us to once again flee! If, in a society, the foundations have been destroyed, now they must be rebuilt. If they are on the brink of collapse, then the righteous must hold them together, Not sit back and watch them crumble - reinforce them!We have only to make sure that we are upholding the foundations of our LORD's righteousness in fact and not just what we see as right in our own eye!"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”[END]About Randy: Randy Pritts is the author of the “Back to the Psalms Series” audio project and the upcoming 2020 book “Foundations Of The Like Precious Faith Series”. If you have listened to part I and II you should have a pretty clear understanding of what boundaries look like and why they are important to have in your life. Boundaries will, in essence, help you gain control. Steven Covey, the author of the 7 habits of highly effective people, once said that we must always start with the end in mind and so if the end goal is to gain control of your life then it's crucial you start by setting boundaries. Now let me be clear, you are not trying to gain control of other people, your circumstance, or even your outcomes. Those things will fall into their proper place as long as you are willing to gain control over yourself. See the issue is that most people get caught up in trying to gain control over the things that they can’t control and in doing so end up losing control over themselves. Now here is the true paradox: it’s only when you take control of yourself that you will begin to have significant influence on the other things meaning people, circumstances, and outcomes.People with effective boundaries have ownership of their feelings, thoughts, choices, desires, opinions, behaviors - in a nutshell they have ownership over their hearts, minds and souls. They don’t give that right away to anyone because they understand how detrimental it can become for them morally, spiritually, physically, mentally, and even sexually. No one can snatch that ownership away from you unless you position yourself to give it away. This is what healthy boundaries sound like:“I am not okay with you yelling at me. I will discuss this when we can speak to one another calmly and respectfully.”“I can’t work overtime this weekend. Since I wasn’t on the schedule, I already made plans.”“I can give you a ride home, but I absolutely need to leave by seven. If you’re any later than that I’m going to have to leave without you.” “Your friend has a drug problem, and I’m not comfortable being around him. Please don’t invite him over to our house again.”“I’ve been doing much more than my fair share of the chores. From now on, I’m only washing my own dishes. I’ll expect you to wash your own.”Your boundaries are defined by your vision and your values. Your vision is your direction. Your end goal. The destination you want to arrive at. Solomon penned “people without a vision, perish” In other words if you have no definite destination in your life you will end up like the Israelites, walking around the desert in circles while perishing in the process. Ultimately boundaries express how much you value you, how much you care for you, and how much you love you. In other words the lack of boundaries is a true sign of a lack of self-esteem.The holes in your fence could be due to:The need for securityThe need for approvalThe need to be perfectThe need to rescueThe fear of being alone or isolatedThe fear of conflictThe fear of disagreementThe fear of angerThe fear of feeling inferior The inability to say noThe inability to hear noThe lack of structureBoundary Blueprint - Know your most important values - Knowing your values is the first step for setting boundaries because they help determine what you are not willing to compromise on. When you have people in your space that don’t align with or respect what you value, you can get caught up in managing that drama instead of on what’s best for you. Use your values to determine your boundaries - ask yourself what you will and won’t allow. Whatever your values are, converting them into boundaries gives you a basis for setting boundaries in relationships, setting boundaries at work, or anywhere else.Self-awareness - find time to reflect and ask yourself in which areas of your life you are feeling the most threatened, exhausted, abused, taken advantage of, and ultimately hurtSet your boundaries - communicate them assertively, be clear, keep it simple don’t feel the need to justify them Keep your boundaries - have someone hold you accountable, keep a clear list of your boundaries in other words write them down so that you can revisit, re-evaluate, and ultimately continue rehearsing them otherwise they may be easily forgotten. Figure out where you will compromise and where you won’t - flexibility is the key to excellence and you will find times to major on the majors and not on the minors. Adjust your expectation as long as it doesn’t create an opportunity for you to be hurt.

Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset, southern England. Its sandy beach is dotted with colorful beach huts and backed by Georgian houses. Jurassic Skyline, a revolving viewing tower, and Victorian Nothe Fort offer harbour views. Nothe Gardens is a public garden, located in Weymouth, Dorset, England.
