🎬🎬🎬🎬 Música utilizada en el episodio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JQCdGVt3s8&list=PL5sg7iBaGpy6dh5ftQQSSsgf2exe3d0YS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EArSUVarCWg&list=PL5sg7iBaGpy6dh5ftQQSSsgf2exe3d0YS&index=4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxSJq6sEdro&list=PL5sg7iBaGpy6dh5ftQQSSsgf2exe3d0YS&index=2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkrYqknp7k8&list=PL5sg7iBaGpy6dh5ftQQSSsgf2exe3d0YS&index=3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-8nBPNWBTU&list=PL5sg7iBaGpy6dh5ftQQSSsgf2exe3d0YS&index=5 Contacta con nosotros: elclaquetazo.podcast@gmail.com Otras plataformas donde también puedes encontrarnos: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/el.claquetazo/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ElClaquetazo_ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNSPBhgnR3f3JMBDxRHV5cg ****************************************************************************** Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. The Top 100 Project

Some film shoots (like the one for Apocalypse Now) seem to last 12 years, but here's a movie with a production schedule that was DELIBERATELY that long. Although gimmick aside, Boyhood is Richard Linklater's lauded attempt to show the slow growth of a fractured family, with the focus on Ellar Coltrane going from 6 to 18. Linklater's daughter Lorelei plays Coltrane's older sister and their divorced parents are Ethan Hawke & Patricia Arquette. The adults are terrific---Arquette won an Oscar for her work as the put-upon mom who keeps finding romance with bad men---but the kids just aren't the actors that she and Hawke are. In any case, it's fascinating to see this arc in a family's life and the (mostly white) people they meet along the way. Our impressions of the exploits of the Evans clan down in Texas is the 609th chat on the Have You Ever Seen podcast channel, so snap some pictures and see what we thought of Boyhood. Well, Actually: Jean-Pierre Leaud repeatedly played "Antoine Doinel" in Francois Truffaut movies. Also, Mason Senior becomes an "insurance actuary", not an "insurance actuarial". "Here lies poor Antoine Doinel, unjustly punished by Sourpuss for a pinup fallen from the sky..."For the final episode of our “Teenage Riot” theme, The Movie Newbie is revisiting one of the defining texts in 20th century cinema… Francois Truffaut's timeless coming-of-age tale THE 400 BLOWS. Studied in every Intro to Film Class, this 1959 masterpiece of the French New Wave distils the excitement and loneliness of the disobedient child unlike any other. Based on Truffaut's own rebellious and tragic childhood, the story follows a young Parisian by the name of Antoine Doinel as he skips school, steals from his parents, and eventually runs away from his parents. It's a timeless classic — and one that we uniformly loved on the podcast — so we were thrilled to meet in the studio to pick apart the acting, music, cinematography and more. *** JABRIEL ALSUHAIMI is a multi-disciplinary creative, working on a multitude of various projects in the audiovisual sphere.

This week we have a little truffle of a Truffaut film, romantic comedy-drama STOLEN KISSES. Third in Truffaut’s series of films about Antoine Doinel, this film concerns the misadventures of Antoine in his early 20s as he tries to figure out work and love, largely failing at both. With a cast of delightful side characters and involving the strange goings-on at a Paris detective agency, Stolen Kisses feels like something of a mix between Peter Seller’s Pink Panther films and The Graduate. A perfect cinematic treat to go with the beautiful spring weather we’re having in Texas. Subscribe in iTunes, Android, or Spotify. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Comedian and Podcaster Lorcan Mullan joins us to discuss the French New Wave classic The 400 Blows starring Jean-Pierre Léaud, Albert Rémy, and Claire Maurier. The film was directed by former critic and ‘Gravedigger of Cinema' François Truffaut who directed the film in 1959 after he was banned from Cannes festival for his overly harsh reviews of current French cinema and as a reaction was encouraged to put his theory of the auteur into practice. The result was a sensation which was not only an international success but also set the tone and ushered in the arrival of the French New Wave, which would change world cinema. The film tells the story of Antoine Doinel, a misunderstood adolescent in Paris who struggles with his parents and teachers due to his rebellious behaviour, a wonderful coming of age story which still resonates today. In an episode that acts as an introduction to one of the most exciting and influential periods of cinematic history, Welcome To The Party Pal hosts Mitch Lucas and Michael Shields explore the French New Wave, an art film movement which emerged in the late 1950s. The movement was characterized by its rejection of traditional filmmaking conventions in favor of experimentation and a spirit of iconoclasm. New Wave filmmakers explored new approaches to editing, visual style, and narrative, as well as engagement with the social and political upheavals of the era, often making use of irony or exploring existential themes. In that respect, the French New Wave is often considered one of the most influential movements in the history of cinema. To fully expound upon this incredibly influential period of filmmaking, Mitch and Michael focus their sights on two of the era’s most celebrated films, François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows and Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless. The 400 Blows (in French: Les Quatre Cents Coups) is a 1959 drama, and the directorial debut of François Truffaut, centering on Antoine Doinel, a misunderstood adolescent in Paris who struggles with his parents and teachers due to his rebellious behavior. Breathless (in French: À Bout de Souffle; "out of breath") is a 1960 French crime and drama film written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard about a wandering criminal (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and his American girlfriend (Jean Seberg). This episode is not one to miss as it shines a light on a bold, and revolutionary movement in filmmaking that forever changed the aesthetic and possibilities of cinema, and inspired some of today’s most gifted directors and storytellers. Jean-Pierre Léaud's familiar face graces the cover of the new March/April issue of Film Comment, waiting out his final days in Albert Serra's new film The Death of Louis XIV. As Yonca Talu observes in her feature on the film, "The film relies heavily on Jean-Pierre Léaud's vulnerable acting. Famous for his vibrant, unrestrained body language as the enfant terrible of the French New Wave, the legendary actor exists in a state of complete paralysis here, dependent on others to meet his basic needs." In some ways, she continues, the film serves as a symbolic conclusion to the Antoine Doinel cycle—Jean-Pierre Léaud's mere presence adds a layer of film-historical context to the film that might not otherwise be there. This week's episode of the Film Comment podcast explores the nuances of legacy, persona, and presence when it comes to acting. As with Léaud, we watch actors with enduring careers mature onscreen, developing their crafts and playing off of already formed associations that viewers might have with their earlier work. The panel—Shonni Enelow, English professor at Fordham and author of Method Acting and Its Discontents; Nick Pinkerton of the New York Film Critics Circle; Michael Koresky, Director of Editorial and Creative Strategy at the Film Society of Lincoln Center; and Violet Lucca, Film Comment Digital Producer—muses on the shifting modes of expression and physicality of performers like Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Gerard Depardieu, and Sissy Spacek.

And remember, you can be a part of the show any time you wild like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. If you live in the US, or any place that makes calling the US easy, just dial 512-666-RANT and leave us a voicemail. We will read the Google Voice transcript and play your message. It's both funny AND informative. If you live outside the US you can call us on Skype at The_Film_Thugs. You can leave a message, or someone might actually answer. E-mail us at thefilmthugs@gmail.com and we will read/play whatever you send us, or you can e-mail thugquestions@gmail.com to be part of  an upcoming "Ask the Film Thugs" show, where we answer questions on any subject without having heard them first. Also, we are on twitter @thefilmthugs and on Facebook and Vine. You can also click on one of our sponsor links below and THEY will pay us. That's right. You won't have to pay a PENNY extra, and Amazon/Onnit/Teefury will give us a little taste. Also, be sure to check back often for our new endeavor The Life Masters, where we answer questions to other advice columnists. Thanks for listening, and until next week... Jim out.

These are well produced, fancy pants editions of important and interesting films for the discerning film lover. We continue our journey through Jim's collection of movies with... Week 4: The 400 Blows Spine Number: 5 Director: Francois Truffaut Genre: French New Wave Some movies change the world. At least... they change the world of film. Francois Truffaut was a respected and feared film critic in France when he decided to take a shot at making a movie. It was a personal, emotionally raw, and thoroughly engrossing portrait of child with no map, no guideposts, and no mooring trying to find himself. The 400 Blows was one of the foundation films of the French New Wave movement and has gone on to be one of the most influential and respected films of all time. So... join us as we discuss the beginnings of the Antoine Doinel series with the landmark "The 400 Blows." Next week: Spine Number 8: John Woo's "The Killer" Also, check this out. http://fantasymovieleague.com/ Looks like Summer Movie League has officially become Fantasy Movie League. It looks quite fun.
