Great moody, almost electroclash esque analog gems. It's been interesting to see Rebotini's music come back around from the rave days through film scores to now without really changing much. No one does the nexus point of French House and EBM quite like him. 9 DJ Plant Texture - Life - Tresor RecordsThe first of two Tresor releases in my top 10, not sure what has been happening over there lately, but I'm here for it. A great weirdo techno 12 inch where opening track Repetitivo (Stretch Mix) sounding like Jeff Mills having eaten too many haribo, before mutating into scattered hats across the dancefloor, perhaps to trip up Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern who have broken into your house for some reason. 8 Autechre - Untilted - Warp Records Now to the first of two reissues in my list, and despite my somewhat negative thoughts as to their quote unquote live show I saw this year, I still love the music and this one in particular stuck out. Approachable but still properly mad. Proof that extreme computer music can be fun. 7 Clark - Steep Stims - Throttle Records I remember when Chris Clark came out with his first record and thinking that it too warp for warp records. I'm pretty sure we never met when I was in Berlin, unless I got him confused with Kid 606, in which case I apologize to you both. Anyway, Steep Stims is great, playful, emotional, one foot in the past and another in the future, really great work that I think will age really well. Solid work Mr Clark. 6 Emptyset - Dissever - Thrill Jockey Records Amazing new record from Emptyset, feels like they took all the lessons from all the later records and applied it to the earlier ones. Beautiful intense grinding drones, like someone built an installation of Sheer Hellish Miasma and I'm somehow in the room with it. 5 Merzbow, Iggor Cavalera, Eraldo Bernocchi - Nocturnal Rainforest - PAN Full disclosure, Iggor sent this to me, but it's been on my repeated listens ever since. Zen-like terror but incredibly dynamic. One of the best noise releases of the year and I'd go as far as to say a career highlight for each of the members. 4 Various Artists - 30 Years Sonic Groove - Sonic Groove Has it really been 30 years of Sonic Groove? Adam X compiles a collection of outstanding producers for this excellent collection of tracks. Highlights include the mutant acid of Bryan Zentz, the incomparable genius of Mike Parker and the industrial brutality of Statiqbloom. 3 Dopplereffekt - Metasymmetry - Tresor The second Tresor release on my list is the mighty Dopplereffekt. Beautiful, futuristic and unmistakably Detroit. Top 3 don't disagree! 2 Maria Somerville - Luster - 4AD Genuinely shocking to hear an artist on 4AD in 2025 that sounds like what an artist on 4AD sounds like in my head and it's great. Melancholic Ambient shoegaze for a new generation. 1 Coil - Black Antlers - Dais Records Black Antlers is not my favorite Coil album, but it is the one I least expected to be reissued as it was originally a tour only CDR that then got expanded. You could argue that it might not count as a proper Coil album, but who has time for these discussions. Some of the best music ever created. Nick (Disfigure; the one on the right in the pic) Favorites: Kommodus - A Foetal Wolf in Stained Glass - Probably my favorite release from Kommodus. Really awesome auxiliary instruments incorporated here and I like the unhinged melodic leads thrown in on a lot of the songs. It has a punkier tinge to it with the guitar tones and the vocals are equally as heavy Fellwinter - Dark Mediaeval Art - Pure riff-centric Judas Iscariot worship Magus Lord - In The Company of Champions - Epic in every way. I liked this better than the Lamp record this year but M has been writing fantastic black metal for a while and this side project is really refreshing to follow Ultimate Disaster - For Progress . . . - Perfectly written D-Beat in my opinion. Very tight songwriting and the riffs and solos are so well executed Valen - Viarum - I'm a huge Thangorodrim fan and this project has reminded me most of that. This was my go-to Dungeon Synth for some epic game nights this year Enceladus - Demo II - Another great release from this project. I love the half time parts, the more death metal sounding vocals, and just the ferocity of the songs while still being melodic Iron Firmament - Arcane Overspill - Amazing black metal from Washington, a state known for churning out amazing black metal for over two decades. I really love the production on this release, especially the interludes. This band writes amazing riffs and this has been a standout for me in their already exceptional discography Sharp Pins - Balloon Balloon Balloon - I love Power pop, I love Guided By Voices and Sharp Pins delivers on all fronts Occult Blood/Carrion Bloom - Battle Cries of Endless Night - Both sides of this split are fantastic. Put out by Wergild who can't miss lately with their bands/releases Utility - S/T - The hometown heroes! The whole release but especially the first song reminds me so much of Fired Up, one of my favorite CT hardcore bands of all time. Great songwriting and also absolutely on point with the energy and vocals. The demo before this is fantastic as well     The Redscroll Podcast is a monthly show (first of the month going forward) that works as a companion to what we do at Redscroll Records in Wallingford, CT USA. We are a record store that has a heavy emphasis on the left of center / underground music of the world. Since 2020, he made releases on some of the greatest labels of the scene: Kompakt, Mobilee, Exploited, Permanent Vacation, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder, and an album on John Digweed's Bedrock Records, with a constant support from the best DJ's in the world. As a true electronic music lover, he worked with some electro idols (Dave Clarke, Arnaud Rebotini, Chicks on Speed, The Advent, Keith Tucker from AUX88...) to bring an extra vocal dimension to his music. H.L.M (Haute Lévitation Mutée), the project of Guillaume Laidain & Andrew Claristidge, are next up on artist duo, agency and label Milk Me's release schedule. Titled 'Grenoble', the single is a homage in name to the Southwestern city where H.L.M. met and is coincidentally also the home of one of the release remixers, French electro luminary The Hacker. He's joined on remix duties by an equally strong French cast of Arnaud Rebotini and Pablo Bozzi, who together put their own spins on the moody, chugging EBM of the original, which is laced with hypnotic spoken word and haunting synth lines.

Passeur de sons, de culture et de traditions, Denez Prigent est loin d'être le défenseur d'un folklore figé ou mort, bien au contraire. Pedro Winter (born Pierre Winter; 21 April 1975), also known by the stage name Busy P, is a French record producer, DJ, record label owner, and former artist manager. After being the manager of Daft Punk from 1996 to 2008, he founded the electronic music label Ed Banger Records, in which he signed artists like Justice, Breakbot, SebastiAn, Cassius, Mr. Oizo, DJ Mehdi and Myd among others. Ce n'était pas forcément le cas au début du siècle, mais il semblerait que le cinéma français en pince aujourd'hui pour les musiciennes et les musiciens issu.e.s de la scène électronique hexagonale : Chloé, Para One, Arnaud Rebotini, Laurent Garnier, Agoria, Rone... pour n'en citer que quelques-uns. Et pour tout vous dire ça fait bien plaisir car malgré plus de 30 ans d'existence, un musée à Détroit, des récompenses, un engouement public et j'en passe, c'est comme si les musiques électroniques devaient encore démontrer leur légitimité, si l'on en juge par la répression dont elles font parfois toujours l'objet dans certains pays. Ce qui fait plaisir aussi c'est de voir aussi comment la musique à l'image permet à des artistes aux univers parfois singuliers, qui ne caracolent pas en tête des streams, de continuer à vivre de leur passion. Au-delà de ces considérations, c'est vrai que dans sa nature aussi la musique électronique est un formidable outil d'expression pour une nouvelle garde de cinéastes, comme par exemple le duo FGKO, qui dont le dernier film vient de sortir en salles. Un film dont le titre est déjà tout un univers sonore en soi qui a sans doute inspiré mon invité du jour quand il s'est attaqué à la bande originale. Ce film il s'appelle, Du crépitement sous les néons, et celui qui signe cette BO, c'est le musicien parisien, Saycet. Place des Fêtes épisode 180, en direct sur tsugiradio.fr.

Troisième épisode, Saison 2! Yann et Pascal dévoilent l'âme metallique du grand Arnaud Rebotini, artiste unique hors norme à la culture musicale incroyable, chantre de l'électro dark aujourd'hui mais aussi fan absolu de Metal de longue date...  Ce grand Dandy toujours apprêté, coiffé au millimètre, gominé et fier de l'être, c'est Arnaud Rebotini. De l'animal scènique déchainé au compositeur Césarisé, il n'y a qu'un pas. Et quand on apprend qu'Arnaud est un fan de Metal le plus sombre, on est curieux de comprendre le parcours singulier de cet artiste impressionnant et talentueux ! Le producteur français Arnaud Rebotini, qui vient de signer la BO d'« Occhiali Neri », le dernier film de Dario Argento, maitre du cinéma d'horreur 

“Palais d'Argile” c'est le troisième album de Feu! Chatterton. Le quintet parisien fait sensation sur la scène rock depuis le début des années 2010. Feu! Chatterton glisse dans cette nouvelle production une pointe d'electro dans son rock, un twist qui galvanise un peu plus leur style si singulier. Pour ajuster ce cap electro, le groupe a demandé à Arnaud Rebotini d'assurer la réalisation et la production. Arnaud est un musicien et compositeur de musique electro. Il est l'un des fondateurs du groupe Blake Strobe. Il y a 3 ans, il a reçu le César de la Meilleure Musique Originale pour le film “120 battements par minute”. Cette rencontre entre le rock et l'electro sonne comme une rencontre entre du vintage et du moderne. Chaque style trouve sa place et l'ensemble forme une belle harmonie. Arnaud Rebotini apporte ses synthés et ses machines en réponse aux guitares de Feu! Chatterton. “Palais d'Argile” gagne en vigueur, c'est rythmé, parfois même dansant. Cette énergie permet de ne pas plomber l'ambiance, parce que les textes sublimes sont plus sombres. Si la musique prend une nouvelle orientation, Feu! Chatterton reste fidèle à ses textes toujours si poétiques. Arthur Teboul et sa bande nous embarquent dans un nouveau monde, pas idéal, les textes sont empreints de nostalgie et de l'angoisse ambiante. Ils rapportent les conséquences des réseaux sociaux sur nos vies. Une expérience qui a préparé et galvanisé le groupe à faire tourner ces 13 nouveaux morceaux sur scène. Un objectif en ligne de mire pour Feu! qui ne veut pas tomber dans l'apathie. Vanya Koreya - 1902s Today we premiere a track from one of our favourite artists of all time, and an act who has literally been there and done that within the dance music scene, the mighty and legendary CJ Bolland. Set to be released on RAW, who after more than 5 years in the techno scene as a promoter, label, and agency, the Paris based collective launched their first vinyl and digital compilation earlier in the year. They have clearly set the bar high and have followed up with yet another VA this time entitled 'Third Eye' which is still a mystery as to who is featured. To say we're excited to premiere this track 'Red Raw' from CJ Bolland is an understatement. Hailing from Durham in the UK, but very much engrained in Antwerp, Belgium from a young age, CJ Bolland is well and truly a legend of techno and dance music in general. He cut his teeth in dance music from an early age as his parents ran a club in Antwerp, with his mother DJing there. He grew up listening to a diverse selection of electronic music, but by the late '80s he had devoted most of his time to house and techno when he began releasing tracks. At the time he was one of the first producers to ever be signed by the then iconic R&S Records, he since has worked with everyone from Jeff Mills to Joey Beltram. Bolland is one of the most consistent producers in the history of dance music, with numerous stone cold classics that stand the test of time, and are regularly features on dance floors, radio and mixes worldwide. Le groupe de rock français Feu! Chatterton a ouvert à Hortense Volle les portes de sa nouvelle demeure : le majestueux Palais d'argile. Verdict ? Elle en est encore toute chamboulée. Car ce 3e album poignant dépeint notre époque avec une rare acuité et ses auteurs en parlent avec une sacrée générosité. Un podcast original en audio 3D avec de la poésie et de la musique dedans. À écouter au casque. Il y a dix ans émergeait Feu! Chatterton, une formation dandy, rock et cultivée (pour ne pas dire surdouée). Un club des cinq emmené par Arthur Teboul et quatre autres Parisiens, tous nés à la fin des années 1980 : Raphaël de Pressigny à la batterie, Antoine Wilson à la basse, Clément Doumic et Sébastien Wolf à la guitare et aux claviers. Après un EP, deux albums, deux Disques d'or et deux nominations aux Victoires de la musique (Révélation scène  en 2016 et Meilleur album rock en 2019), Feu! Chatterton est de retour avec Palais d'argile, un troisième opus réalisé par le maestro électro Arnaud Rebotini qui a travaillé avec Alain Bashung et reçu un César pour la musique du film 120 battements par minute. Ensemble, au prestigieux studio ICP à Bruxelles, ils ont tout enregistré en live et construit un album poignant et élégant avec du riff, du groove et des synthés. Un album aux textes à la fois drôles, poétiques et engagés qui, c'est certain, résistera au temps. Un morceau qu'ils nous ont fait l'immense plaisir d'interpréter live version piano/voix de manière complètement improvisée.
