Seitdem hat Gonzáles vier weitere Soloalben veröffentlicht – das aktuelle heißt "Against The Dying Of The Light". Stijn Schmitz welcomes John Feneck to the show. John Feneck is CEO Feneck Consulting Group. The podcast discussion centers on gold markets, investment strategies, and critical mineral opportunities. Feneck provides insights into the current gold market, noting that while there have been recent price fluctuations, major banks like Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and HSBC are bullish, with price targets ranging from $4,900 to $5,000 for the next year. Discussing gold miners, Feneck highlights that the GDX ETF has broken out to new all-time highs, with producers like Newmont seeing significant growth. He believes junior miners still represent substantial value, with the GDXJ ETF trading well below its 2011-2012 peak. His investment approach combines value investing with technical analysis, focusing on a diversified portfolio of 60-70 stocks to manage risk. Feneck is particularly enthusiastic about critical minerals, especially tungsten and antimony, driven by geopolitical tensions and supply chain concerns. He sees significant opportunity in companies like Guardian Metals and Triumph Gold, which have strategic positions in these critical minerals. His investment philosophy emphasizes understanding company management, project fundamentals, and potential near-term catalysts. The conversation also touched on the challenges of mineral exploration and development, particularly in the United States, where permitting processes can take years. Feneck believes there's growing political momentum to accelerate critical mineral development, with initiatives like Trump's executive orders aimed at reducing dependence on Chinese mineral supplies. Through his consulting group, Feneck offers investment research services, including real-time updates, CEO interviews, and portfolio insights. He emphasizes the importance of active management, conducting extensive research, and maintaining flexibility in investment approach. His track record includes impressive returns, with his current portfolio up 118% for the year, demonstrating the potential of strategic investing in the mining and metals sector.

What if the clarity you’ve been craving doesn’t come from vision boards or five-year plans… but from pressure? In this solo episode, Julie Hyde gets brutally honest about the moments that pushed her to breaking point—financial stress, a cancer diagnosis, and the realisation that “fine” was a trap keeping her stuck. These weren’t just hard seasons. They were turning points. And they forced one truth to the surface. When your back’s against the wall, you stop performing—and start leading from truth. This isn’t about glorifying struggle. It’s about understanding the role discomfort plays in growth, alignment, and empowered decision-making. If you’ve been ignoring that quiet inner voice or waiting for the ‘right time’ to make a change… this is your wake-up call. In this episode, Julie shares: Why we delay change until the pain outweighs the fear The biology of discomfort—and how it sharpens your focus Her personal story of rock bottom (twice) The mindset shift that put her back in the driver’s seat How to make one bold, aligned move—before crisis forces your hand

In today's retrospect episode, I chat about "25/8" and "Back Against the Wall," tracks 1 and 2 off of my "PREVAIL" EP. These two songs helped to define the "PREVAIL" era by offering two different flavors of production - one punky, one fuzzy. Two different sides to my branding back then. I will always look at this two songs with gratitude for allowing me the opportunity to experiment a bit. Thank you for listening!

"When you finally get a little bit of money in the bank, what got you here won't get you there. You're going to have to change gears at some point and start hiring employees and having training systems and allow yourself the freedom to sleep in on the weekends." - Keith Kalfas Topics Covered: Introduction and Starting a Window Cleaning Business in Winter The Initial Struggles and Persistence Gradual Growth and Earnings Negotiating Prices and Persistence The Harsh Reality of Starting a Business The Turning Point and Overcoming Challenges The Realization and the Decision to Change The Journey to Debt Freedom The Success Story and Lessons Learned The Importance of Hard Work and Balance The Next Step: Building Administrative Pillar Takeaway: "The next 7 years of my life are going to be hell. Five to seven years, but seven years to pay off these karmic debts. I never did anything wrong. I wasn't a bad person, but to dig myself out of this hole and build and establish my life. It seemed like an eternity, but I did the math and the math said seven years is going to go by either way. So in seven years, you're going to crawl out of this fucking hole. And finally be somebody. And it's not going to be the person you always wanted to be. You're not going to be a somebody you have to just accept the fact that you're an average Joe. My final 1983 gig-going-entry recaps a couple of shows I took in during a crazy/nuts four-day trip to NYC. While I will be discussing the performances by hardcore titans The Circle Jerks and post-Throbbing Gristle offshoot Psychic TV, I'll also be looking at the madcap trip to Manhattan as a whole, recounting the hijinks that MZ, Miss B, myself, and others got up to. If you've heard or read EP 25 on the Flipper show at Fryfogle's, then you'll have somewhat of an idea of what to expect.Tune in for destroyed hotel rooms; terrified cousins; "Peace, Love and Groove!"; Danceteria bathroom hallucinations; Brooke Shields' husband, Broadway Bob; and pterodactyls and manifestations. You can also read the original blog entries for The Circle Jerks and for the Psychic TV show on the mylifeinconcert.com blog. Next On Stage –> I am jumping back further into the past as I recall a cabaret show that happened between my first and second “official” gigs (Roxy Music at the London Arena on February 5, 1975 and Bob Seger at the London Gardens on May 19, 1978). I saw the cabaret in Portsmouth, England, in August 1977, and it featured early-60s popster Susan Maughan, she of the 1962 hit, “Bobby's Girl,” and possibly the legendary Tessie O'Shea. I had initially planned to discuss it as part of upcoming compilation episode but have instead decided to make it a stand-alone episode. The EP's Special Guest is my 96-year-old mother—we'll call her Vera Various Artists—who attended the cabaret along with me and my late father. My mum shares her vague memories of the evening, including that she feels the legendary Tessie O'Shea was on the bill. If my mother is right, then boy do I wish I could remember that. I wouldn't have known who she was then but I sure do now. We do both remember humourist Pam Ayers and the Famous People Players being part of the show. My mother also recalls the venue itself, the Portsmouth The Hippodrome but also The King's Theatre in Southsea, as she grew up in Petersfield, but later moved to Portsmouth after marrying my dad, and both my elder siblings were born there. In the interview, she discusses listening to the radio as well as records in the UK as a girl in the ‘30s, and also music and live shows she enjoyed after to moving to Canada in the mid-50s and onwards. I also talk about my experiences on this trip in the ultimate UK punk year—1977—amid the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Tune in for dangerous radio batteries, hanging out in British record stores to hear the latest releases, what double album of my mum's drove me nuts in the ‘70s, punk rock mania, not seeing The Sex Pistols, and what Ethel Merman was really like live. That's all coming up in Episode 31, Concert no. 001.5, entitled UK 1977: VA's Mum on Ethel Merman and Susan Maughan at the Portsmouth Hippodrome and the Music of Her Life + My UK Trip Amid the Year of the Punk Rock Explosion and Silver Jubilee mylifeinconcert.com

Christopher breaks down why your mindset is the #1 tool to your real estate success.
This week, we sit down with Physician Associate and business owner, Sarah Balladares, PA-C for one wild ride! It all started with Sarah's original career post-marketing degree, Financial Planning. After 5 years helping medical professionals get a handle on their money, she decided it was time to leave her career and head off to medical school for a career in Plastic Surgery. That was a short lived, as a few of her close physician friends talked her off the ledge, and offered up a career as a PA as viable alternative. That was all it took, and Sarah went back to school to take a year of prerequisites only to be waitlisted! That didn't stop her, one of the many times she would persevere. She eventually got into PA school that year, and the rest is history...sort of! Sarah had her goal in mind- Aesthetics- and despite repeated interventions from her professors, she stayed the course. After PA school, Sarah embarked on a journey that would take her to Ohio where she still works periodically then to Louisiana. She got involved with a practice in hopes of owning it one day, but her curiosity was not welcomed, so she found herself in a tight spot. What to do to end this "fun employment?" Well, Smooth by Sarah was born! Through a bit of desperation and a lot of gumption, with $7000 in injectables, a chair, and a one room rental spot, she opened her own practice. Now, she goes back and for to Ohio, works at another medical spa in Metarie, LA and has her own clinic in Baton Rouge. She's a busy gal managing 3 practices and a packed schedule, and flying home to North Carolina to see her new(ish) husband and remodel a home! She's definitely on the go, but so many of her decisions have been ones that may have seemed crazy at the time, but looking back, it's exactly what needed to happen in that moment to arrive at the destination. Now 3 years into owning Smooth by Sarah, she is continuing to innovate and evolve as a business owner and an injector, learning valuable lessons along the way. In this episode she shares: What fueled her decision to completely change careers and start over The impetus behind opening her practice, Smooth by Sarah, while also working in 2 locations The benefits of being an entrepreneur AND an employee The cautionary tales of going too big in the beginning Asking the tough questions, even if it hurts at the time And, so much more!!! This episode is FULL of laughs, southern charm, and Sarah's fiery spirit. But it's also a testament to just jumping in, trusting yourself, and realizing that whether you crawl, walk or run, you just have to keep moving forward. Rahab The Prostitute: It was her label and her identity. But when the opportunity (or need) arose, she chose to stop living by the label and embrace a new identity. We have the same choice in front of us. We have been given labels throughout our life and whether we embrace and live according to those is our choice. As born again people we have an identity that doesn't come from those labels but from our Heavenly Father and what He has done in us.
The Brewers lost two heartbreakers in Chicago in the latest chapter of frustration for a team whose playoff fortunes have gone south. Brewers reporter Todd Rosiak and host JR Radcliffe search around for any signs of hope, and there are some. But what about Eric Lauer's comments about communication from the front office, Christian Yelich's struggles in the field, and the white-hot St. Louis Cardinals? Is it surprising the club hasn't brought up Sal Frelick to man center field? Is Keston Hiura finally going to get some extra playing time? Then, Curt Hogg sits down with Brewers third baseman Mike Brosseau, who's been one of the bright spots in an offense that can't find consistency. EP 421 BACK against the Wall When life throws a curveball most imagine that they are Babe Ruth knocking opportunities out of the park. I have learned and experienced that life is more like a power puncher in a prize fight. Floyd Money Mayweather has quoted and tailored his style on the principle that you should "Take at least punishment as possible". When we switch from baseball to boxing comparing what life can simulate like this can paint a more accurate picture. More often than not with the constant and accurate jabs life throw us we end up in a defensive position covering up and rarely getting a chance to counter. "When our backs against the wall" could be a better quote than the one with curveballs. How can we effectively defend ourselves? Furthermore, can we get a punch of our own? In this episode, we will talk about strategies that can be used to refuse to be cornered when life throws us punches. So....when life throws a haymaker? What do you do?

If you've been in business for any length of time, you've probably been in a situation where you feel your back is against the wall. You don't know how you got yourself into this situation and you have no idea how to get out of it! This maybe exactly how you've felt over the last few months? In this episode I talk about some of the toughest situations I've found myself in. I'm talking "sink or swim" situations where if I didn't figure things out VERY quickly I was finished! I now see these situations as a gift! Without them I wouldn't have had the success I've been able to achieve. Listen carefully and think of some of the situations in your life where, at the time, you thought it was GAME OVER, but now you realise it was a life-lesson that has truly served you. If you have a challenge in your business right now, please reach out to me, I'm always happy to hop on a call or advise in any way I can.
