In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes four through six of My Love Story with Yamada Kun at Lv999! In episode four, Runa, Eita's younger sister, is abrasive and rude toward Akane at the Forest of Savior guild meetup. After parting ways, Runa personally reaches out to Akane, seemingly to extend an olive branch, and makes plans with her for that upcoming Saturday. In episode five, Runa fails to show up to a restaurant to spend time with Akane, but instead sends a Rurihime superfan to go in her stead, all the while convincing that superfan that Akane was Rurihime. This results in this middle-aged man coming on very strong, and Akane attempting to escape, but he goes so far as to follow her into the bathroom. Eventually, Yamada figures out what was going on, and he, Eita, Runa, and Mr. Kamota all go to rescue Akane from the situation. In episode six, Akane's computer suddenly short circuits, preventing her from gaming. In episode one, Akane is dumped by her cheating boyfriend, and fluctuates through stages of grief. At an in-person event for a game her ex-boyfriend, Takuma, introduced her to, Akane bribes an attractive guy to pretend to be her boyfriend in front of Takuma and his new lady. This attractive guy turns out to be a locally famous professional gamer, Yamada. In episode two, Akane wakes up at Yamada's apartment after getting too drunk the night before, and worries that something happened between them. At home, Akane realizes she lost her necklace at Yamada's place. In episode three, Akane learns she's been frustrating her guild members by placing low level gear inside their shared storage, and doesn't log into Forest of Savior for several days. We meet the elven mage Frieren and her adventuring party: Himmel the Hero, Heiter the priest, and Eisen the dwarf. After defeating the Demon King (or Lord?), they part ways after a decade-long journey together. Fifty years later, ensuing the death of Himmel, Frieren wishes she had taken the time to get to know him better. Years later, while visiting Heiter, she sort of stumbles into having an apprentice - a war orphan named Fern who Heiter had been looking after. Les années 1980 sont devenues magiques pour beaucoup de gens qui donneraient cher aujourd'hui pour y revenir. Et en y repensant, je dois vous avouer me souvenir qu'on avait l'impression de vivre un grand moment. Tout nous semblait nouveau et moderne en 1980 : on jouait aux Space Invaders, on écoutait des radios libres pour la première fois et on utilisait un enregistreur VHS. Et si, question musique, en 1980, il y avait encore des Chantal Goya pour chanter Bécassine et Julio Iglesias Je n'ai pas changé, le reste, mis bout à bout, était sacrément moderne : The Buggles, Orchestral Manoeuvres, Funkytown, le Manureva d'Alain Chamfort, le Banana Split de Lio ou John and Mary de Robert Palmer, c'est quand même une musique futuriste avec tous ces synthés.Et puis il y a le ska. Je revois encore toute la piste de danse sautant d'un bloc sur One step beyond quinze fois sur la soirée d'un samedi. C'était quelque chose de radicalement nouveau qui correspondait tellement à la jeunesse du début des années 80. Si le genre n'a pas fait long feu, en Angleterre, il a été un véritable phénomène social avec des groupes comme Madness, bien sûr, mais surtout les Specials, Selecter, Bad Manners et The Beat. Complètement méconnu chez nous, The Beat enchaîne trois albums, tous disques d'or, avant de se séparer. Alors qu'est-ce qu'on fait ? se demandent Andy Cox et David Steele, respectivement bassiste et guitariste de The Beat, les auteurs de cette intro que tous les Britanniques connaissent … Moi je vous dis : une paire pareille de musiciens ne devrait pas se séparer, et justement, ils décident de continuer ensemble. Mais que jouer comme musique ? Ils sont plutôt punk, ont connu le succès avec le ska, deux musiques bien passées de mode en 1984, alors ils suivent un peu le mouvement du milieu de cette décennie, avec les Wham!, Madness ou Culture Club qui ont injecté de la soul américaine dans leur musique. Andy et David jouent chacun de plusieurs instruments, ils sont un band à eux seuls mais voilà, il leur faut un chanteur, un frontman. Alors ils passent une annonce dans un magazine musical. Pour vous dire à quel point la scène musicale était intense et lisait les magazines, ils reçoivent 500 cassettes de gars qui veulent être leur chanteur. Quand va-t-on écouter tout ça ?Ben on s'arrête au premier qui nous plaît.Et si le suivant est dix fois meilleur ?Ils vont mettre huit mois à trouver le temps de tout écouter et à choisir le bon. Il se nomme Roland Gift, et a aussi fait du ska, mais comme saxophoniste, dans un groupe de Hull sur la côte est du nord de l'Angleterre, bien connue de ceux qui prennent le ferry pour la Hollande. Ainsi naissent les Fine Young Cannibals, un groupe qui incarne tellement la seconde partie des années 80, une carrière fulgurante, seulement deux albums mais quels albums, synthèse de la pop d'une époque où on vivait pour la musique.

Afterwards, Kazehaya walks Sawako home under the stars, and they almost share a kiss. In episode eighteen, Chizu buys Ryuu a birthday present. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika and Giana review episodes ten through twelve of Kimi Ni Todoke! In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes seven through nine of Kimi Ni Todoke! In episode seven, Sawako, Chizu, and Ayane go out for ramen to a local shop. Sawako learns that the shop is owned by Ryuu's family, and they live above the store. They spend the evening hanging out in Ryuu's room and invite Kazehaya over. In episode eight, Sawako's friends encourage her to call them by their first names. However, she struggles to call Kazehaya “Shota”. Pin forces Kazehaya to become a committee member for the upcoming sports festival. His middle school friend, Kurumi, is also on the committee, and it's evident she's trying to become closer to Kazehaya. Kazehaya helps Sawako practice soccer for the sports festival. In episode nine, Sawako is enchanted by Kurumi and hopes to become friends with her, and the feeling seems to be mutual... or is it? Kazehaya struggles to call Sawako by her first name. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika and Giana review episodes four through six of Kimi Ni Todoke! In episode four, rumors rapidly spread about Chizu and Ayane, pinning Sawako for starting them. Ayane and Chizu overhear Sawako claim that they aren't her friends and leave before they can hear the full context of the conversation, which hurts and confuses them deeply. In episode five, further rumors about Sawako's presence being a detriment to Kazehaya, Chizu, and Ayane cause her to distance herself from them. Kazehaya speaks with Sawako about this, and he urges her to discuss her feelings with Chizu and Ayane about their friendship. Later, Sawako confronts girls she hears spreading rumors in the bathroom to try and settle them once and for all. In episode six, the school gathers around the girl's bathroom after hearing about a fight going on inside. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review the first three episodes of Kimi Ni Todoke! In episode one, Kuronuma Sawako struggles to interact with her classmates after being branded as cursed because of her resemblance to Sadako from the horror film The Ring. Her classmates even refer to her as “Sadako”. Despite this, she is able to speak with a popular boy, Shouta Kazehaya, who invites her to the school's test of courage event. Through this, Sawako becomes friendly with two more classmates: Yoshida Chizuru and Yano Ayane. In episode two, Sawako leaves her umbrella to cover a puppy left out in the rain on the way to school, and, later, Kazehaya decides to adopt him. The next day, Sawako's class has a seating arrangement change, and nobody wants to end up with their desk near hers. Kazehaya, Chizu, Ayane, and Ryuu choose to sit near her, bringing her to tears. In episode three, Kazehaya and Sawako chat after school, and Kazehaya brings his new puppy, Maru-chan, along. He learns that she daydreams about teaching others. The next day, Kazehaya asks Sawako for help with schoolwork, and the rest of the class flocks over to be tutored by her. She smiles genuinely, taking her classmates off guard. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes forty-seven through fifty of Fruits Basket (2019)! In episode forty-seven, Yuki and Manabe discuss Tohru and the nature of Yuki's feelings towards her. Tohru's class decides to rewrite Cinderella to fit their odd casting choices. In episode forty-eight, it's showtime! Cinderella-ish is a hilarious success, despite an out of character outburst from Tohru at the end of the show, causing Kyo to wonder about her true feelings towards him. In episode forty-nine, Yuki makes sure to include Machi in the student council's plans to celebrate the end of the school year together. It's also time for the New Year's banquet at the Sohma estate, which results in an unsettling exchange between Akito and Yuki around forgiveness of one another. Tohru spends the holiday with Kyo, Kazuma, and Rin at Kazuma's dojo. Tohru's wish for the new year is for the Sohma's curse to be broken. In episode forty-one, Tohru visits the Sohma estate to talk to Kureno on Uo's behalf. By happenstance, she meets Momo, who is fascinated by Momiji and hopes Tohru can convince him to be her big brother. When Tohru speaks with Kureno, he vows to never speak to Uo again. In episode forty-two, it's time for Tohru's class trip to Kyoto! Romantic shenanigans are abound, while Tohru and Yuki find souvenirs to bring home. Yuki muses over the positive impact Tohru has had on his life and silently offers her gratitude. Kyo and Tohru spend some time alone. In episode forty-three, we learn about Rin and her difficult childhood, which culminated in her parents abandoning her in her teen years. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika and Giana review episodes thirty-eight through forty of Fruits Basket (2019)! In episode thirty-eight, Yuki meets new members of his student council. Kakeru Manabe and Yuki have an argument after school when Manabe asks Yuki regarding his feelings about Tohru. The boys have a heart-to-heart conversation, which breaks up the tension between them. In episode thirty-nine, Shigure steps in for Tohru's parent-teacher conference when she learns her grandfather won't be able to attend. Yuki contemplates inviting his own parents to the conference. Hatsuharu and Rin finally reunite. In episode forty, at parent-teacher conferences, Ayame arrives to help Yuki through the very uncomfortable meeting with his mother. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika return to Fruits Basket (2019) and begin season two! In episode twenty-six, Yuki joins his fellow student council members: Manabe and Machi, and he certainly doesn't know what to make of them. Motoko's embarrassing outburst in the student council room is difficult to see unfold. In episode twenty-seven, Kazuma shows just how exemplary of a father he was, and still is, to Kyo. Kyo and Tohru share a deeply emotional conversation over late night somen regarding their futures. Chika and Giana are unquenchably intrigued, wondering what Shigure's writing is like. Shigure's laundry analogy perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being overwhelmed. In episode twenty-eight, Yuki steps out of his comfort zone yet again to try and better understand his flamboyant brother Ayame by visiting his clothing shop. We get a glimpse into Yuki's difficult relationship with his family, including Ayame growing up. Despite their differences, the brothers strive to meet in the middle so that they can begin to mend their bond. This is possibly the most vulnerable episode we've released on the main podcast. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes ten through twelve of A Sign of Affection!
