Micke on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 1pm PST 11/10/22   About Micke - In 1998, Micke co-founded Liquid Lounge (now known as Liquid Lounge SoundSystem), with good friend & long-time business partner, Erik Johnson, known as EJ. Together they formed a DJ collective & promotion group, which was led by Contrast, Micke & EJ's tag team name. As part of Contrast, Micke was regularly playing some of the most notable venues on the East Coast.   Micke gained notoriety as a sound & lighting tech for Primacy, a major venue owner in DC — most notably at Club Five and Nation — Micke's hard work and dedication was recognized by Scott Henry, the founder of Buzz, who hired him onto his management team. Buzz was one of the most well known and influential weekly club events in rave history.   Thanks to Buzz, Micke's talent was quickly noticed by some of the biggest names in Electronic Music including: Sasha, Hybrid, The Crystal Method, Tarantella & Redanka, Paul Oakenfold, BT, Judge Jules, Max Graham, Armin Van Helden, Dave Ralph, Deep Dish, PVD, Chris Fortier, Carl Cox, Scott Dixon, DJ Dan, Scott Henry, Charles Feelgood, DJ Keoki, and Donald Glaude to name a few…. and of course, Sandra Collins.   Micke earned a Buzzlife residency, putting him and his collective, Liquid Lounge, in regular main room rotation at Buzz. It was then that Sandra Collins noticed his skills, and requested Micke as her opening DJ whenever she played at Nation.   On top of an active performance schedule, Micke was grinding for Deep Dish and their online label site, Yoshitoshi Records, as Customer Service Manager & Assistant Music Purchaser, under the direction of Alex Whalen, General Manager of Yoshitoshi Records (Store) and Yoshitoshi.com. In 2006, Micke took a hiatus from performing to focus on honing his production skills.   Now, he's surging back, hitting the scene heavy with original tracks & collaborations with such artists as Sandra Collins, Scott Dixon (Voyager), & Andy Woldman. He has continued to evolve his 20 year music partnership with EJ, as Temporal Mental, in parallel to his solo career. Micke represents District Ignition, Buzzlife Productions and Liquid Lounge SoundSystem, which are stables from his Washington, D.C. roots.   In late 2017, Micke's collaboration with Sandra Collins began to shine. As of November 2018, Sandra & Micke have signed 9 original tracks along with 3 remixes across 4 different labels. Happy Sunday everybody!  For pt. 2 of the Summer XO, I went back and brightened things up a bit by putting some sunshine into the mix.  This set has some of my go-to songs of the moment like Basement Jaxx “Never Say Never,” the unstoppable Duke Dumont's “Won't Look Back” and Kieza's “Hideaway.”  Sandwiched in-between is a heaping trove of house goodness. September is pretty much gonna be a sleeper here at Party Favorz, with two new Mixtapes (which are already in the can) and a very special new Diva induction into the Hall of Fame.  I still have the final five volumes of Millennial house classics to deliver so you got a pretty good idea what's coming out this month.  The next EDM set(s) and the Fall Edition won't likely drop until some time in October. September is pretty much gonna be a sleeper here at Party Favorz, with two new Mixtapes (which are already in the can) and a very special new Diva induction into the Hall of Fame.  I still have the final five volumes of Millennial house classics to deliver so you got a pretty good idea of what's coming out this month.  The next Dance Club set(s) and the Fall Edition won't likely drop until sometime in October. Anyone that's had a chance to check out the site, will notice a major re-work of the layout and design.  Realizing I need to restructure so I can somehow monetize it to recover my monthly costs, I'm trying out some new things.  Expect even more changes to Party Favorz in the coming months.  Don't worry, this ain't gonna hit your pocket-book, but hopefully will allow me to take my costs off my budget so it can sustain itself and continue to provide you with the excellence in podcasting you've come to enjoy from me. ~Seismyc~, a member of the H3LIUM DJ crew, representing all three coasts of the US, found his way to the house music community by way of the filthy warehouses, airplane hangars, fields, theatres, and any other location where producers and promoters of Denver Colorado’s early underground house music scene could throw a party. His early musical influences included the standard host of veterans like DJ Dan and Donald Glaude, Bad Boy Bill, Charles Feelgood, Frankie Knuckles, Deep Dish… and while artists, genres and tastes in the global electronica scene have ebbed and flowed, for ~Seismyc~ one genre has always shined through... House. After 15 years of dancing and fist pumping to the eargasmic beats of the world’s legendary house music producers and DJ's, with a push from a friend, he got behind the decks and dropped his first beat. Since then, he's rocked the decks across the nation and the globe, opening for legends such as Stonebridge, Eric Prydz, Markus Schulz, The Shapeshifters, ATFC, Ivano Bellini, Lizzie Curious, Scotty Boy, Riley Warren, Chrissi D!, and Austin Leeds to name a few.
