Micke on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 1pm PST 11/10/22 About Micke - In 1998, Micke co-founded Liquid Lounge (now known as Liquid Lounge SoundSystem), with good friend & long-time business partner, Erik Johnson, known as EJ. Together they formed a DJ collective & promotion group, which was led by Contrast, Micke & EJ's tag team name. As part of Contrast, Micke was regularly playing some of the most notable venues on the East Coast. Micke gained notoriety as a sound & lighting tech for Primacy, a major venue owner in DC — most notably at Club Five and Nation — Micke's hard work and dedication was recognized by Scott Henry, the founder of Buzz, who hired him onto his management team. Buzz was one of the most well known and influential weekly club events in rave history. Thanks to Buzz, Micke's talent was quickly noticed by some of the biggest names in Electronic Music including: Sasha, Hybrid, The Crystal Method, Tarantella & Redanka, Paul Oakenfold, BT, Judge Jules, Max Graham, Armin Van Helden, Dave Ralph, Deep Dish, PVD, Chris Fortier, Carl Cox, Scott Dixon, DJ Dan, Scott Henry, Charles Feelgood, DJ Keoki, and Donald Glaude to name a few…. and of course, Sandra Collins. Micke earned a Buzzlife residency, putting him and his collective, Liquid Lounge, in regular main room rotation at Buzz. It was then that Sandra Collins noticed his skills, and requested Micke as her opening DJ whenever she played at Nation. On top of an active performance schedule, Micke was grinding for Deep Dish and their online label site, Yoshitoshi Records, as Customer Service Manager & Assistant Music Purchaser, under the direction of Alex Whalen, General Manager of Yoshitoshi Records (Store) and Yoshitoshi.com. In 2006, Micke took a hiatus from performing to focus on honing his production skills. Now, he's surging back, hitting the scene heavy with original tracks & collaborations with such artists as Sandra Collins, Scott Dixon (Voyager), & Andy Woldman. He has continued to evolve his 20 year music partnership with EJ, as Temporal Mental, in parallel to his solo career. Micke represents District Ignition, Buzzlife Productions and Liquid Lounge SoundSystem, which are stables from his Washington, D.C. roots. In late 2017, Micke's collaboration with Sandra Collins began to shine. As of November 2018, Sandra & Micke have signed 9 original tracks along with 3 remixes across 4 different labels. These labels include: Perfecto Black, Pro B Tech Music, Stripped Digital, & Stripped Recordings. Emerging in Washington, D.C. twenty years ago, in the prime of the rave era, Micke was a talented & bright, yet unknown artist in an overgrowing sea of bedroom DJ's. In 1998, Micke co-founded Liquid Lounge (now known as Liquid Lounge SoundSystem), with good friend & long-time business partner, Erik Johnson, known as EJ. Together they formed a DJ collective & promotion group, which was led by Contrast, Micke & EJ's tag team name. Micke became a Buzz resident with regular, main room rotations. It was then that Sandra noticed his skills, requesting Micke as her opening DJ whenever she played at Nation. While playing regularly, Micke also grinded for Deep Dish's Yoshitoshi Records, alongside mentor, Alex Whalen. In '06, Micke took time away from DJing to focus on his production skills. Now, he's back performing & working with such artists as: Sandra Collins, Voyager, & Charlie May, in parallel to his solo production & performance career. In fact, as of Dec 2018, Sandra & Micke have signed 9 tracks along with 3 remixes across 4 different labels. These labels include: Perfecto Black, Pro B Tech Music, Stripped Digital, & Stripped Recordings. In support of these releases, the duo started a national tour beginning in Spring 2019. - Micke is a affiliated with District Ignition, Liquid Lounge, & Buzzlife, WDC - Bookings: facebook.com/djmicke About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ's/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. Kaspar Tasane on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 8/8/22 About Kaspar Tasane - Kaspar Tasane was named the one to watch in 2020 by Soundgarden Resident Gustin in DMC World Magazine. “His music just totally blows me away. It's elegant yet driving, and has a timeless energy that often reminds me of the mid 1990's progressive sound.” Hailing from Tallinn, Estonia, Kaspar has used his experience growing up in the European trance scene to bring his own unique flavor to his progressive house beats. Kaspar's unique sound has garnered support from trance legends Armin Van Buuren who showcased his track Fusha at A State of Trance Festival 700, Airwave, and Matt Darey. As Kaspar's style has evolved to a more underground progressive sound, DJs such as Darin Epsilon, Kenneth Thomas, Tripswitch, Mariano Mellino, Jorgio Kioris, Sandra Collins, Solid Stone, Wally Lopez, Graziano Raffa, Chris Cargo, Rick Pier O'Neil, BOg, Nicolas Rada, and Chris Fortier have all shown their support. This is my first conversation with Chris Fortier, Vice President of the Web 3.0 company Rally. It begins when Chris questions me on what he calls my "natural forces" theory, which invokes two nonrandom forces of evolution: natural selection and natural reward. Relevant to this theory, we discuss the concept of teleology, especially as it relates to evolutionary adaptation and experimental evolution in microorganisms. We then review the "major transition” framework for classifying evolutionary innovation in terms of levels of organization, cooperation, and information storage and transmission, and how they relate to the Web 1/2/3 scheme. We then forge analogies between the cooperative and informational problems facing planetary life and humans operating in the technoworld, with reference to game theoretical dilemmas. In the latter half of the conversation, I tell Chris about my project investigating the economics of science and how to make science more innovative by altering its funding structure. Chris immediately grasps my approach to the problem and speculates about a solution. We then discuss what Chris is doing at Rally and I query him about its economics and governance. Finally, I tell Chris about my proposed solution and Chris is ready with examples from the cryptoworld that support my approach. At the end, Chris answers my question of how Rally itself stands to profit along with the creators within it. This conversation is an explosion of dynamism, where a discussion of “natural forces” illuminates the phenomena of nature, technology, and science.
In this episode, Lance Cashion brings us back to his early days in the Orlando scene, where we learn how the Orlando underground ecosystem operated and hear stories about clubs like The Edge. Additionally, Lance teaches us the about the importance of strong resident DJs and how his experience in Orlando helped him build a progressive scene in Austin, Texas, where he promoted the Austin leg of the Delta Heavy tour and was a resident DJ himself.
⦿⦿ElectriX Podcast⦿⦿ This Friday is a very special episode. I have Darin Epsilon in the series. If you are into Melodic Techno and you check out the beatport charts once in a while, you will definitely know his name. He released on really successful labels Incl. my favourite “Einmusika" and is always charted in the Beatport charts. I met him at a party in Berlin last summer and I was stoked when he agreed to have a mix ready for this series. He`s based in Berlin, but he`s currently touring through Mexico. In general in non COVID times he`s always on the road. He shared with me a great set from one of it`s gigs with some great tunes from himself and other big artists. Hope you enjoy the set and do yourself a favor and check him out on spotify and here on Soundcloud as well. Have Fun! Like the Mix? Click the [Repost]
Chris Fortier is Vice President of Product at Rally, a project built on Ethereum that helps creators develop economic relationships with their audiences by launching their own crypto social tokens and NFTs. Why you should listen: Rally builds tools for creators to launch and grow their crypto economies. Rally started with social tokens but has always imagined a world where a creator's crypto economy included both fungible tokens and NFTs. Fans want reasons to buy, use and hold social tokens and creators have pioneered countless ways to power experiences with those tokens. But they also want tangible goods and services — as well as experiences — that they can own in exchange for those social tokens. NFTs and social tokens paired together tie the creator's crypto economy into a cohesive whole. Rally is building NFT capabilities that allow creators to focus on utility and collectability versus scarcity. They believe that the true economic value of NFTs will come from creators and their fans using NFTs to drive connections, particularly if creators allow more of their fan-base to participate. By enabling these utility-based NFT use cases, Rally is opening up a world for creators to experiment in their engagements with their fans and focus on offerings that delight their broader fan base rather than a small set of deep-pocketed speculators. Mike worked as the manager of Daytona Beach's staple record store Atlantic Sounds. Through this position, a 100,000 watt radio station 99.9 FM offered the opportunity to develop a radio show known as "Alternative Frequency". Alternative Frequency started to buzz and local nightclub Coliseum decided to sponsor the show, offering Mike a residency. A decision was made after three years, to leave Atlantic Sounds and dedicate more time to the nightlife and the sounds of the underground. With experience under his belt, and two partners with similar interests, Mike opened his first nightclub - Madhouse. As resident DJ, Mike worked with various artists: Kimball Collins, Chris Fortier, D-Xtreme, Rich Rosario, D-Love, Stylus, and AK1200 to name a few. One year later the group decided to open an additional short lived nightclub known as 3D. Broadening his horizon, Mike began playing to the Orlando crowd as a resident at Ultraviolet and winning two DJ contests in the Central Florida area. He later moved to the Midwest, and began playing areas in Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis and Denver. After a 18 year hiatus, Mike is back in Florida and has recently found himself back in the scene DJ'ing and creating music. The past genres of music played included a mix of trance, progressive house and breakbeat but Mike's current focus (DJ/artist) is primarily breaks. New original material is being worked on and set to be released in early Spring 2021 on 77Deuce Records. PREMIERE: Muchak - Roots (Original Mix) [Asymmetric Recordings/Dip] Israeli artist Muchak returns to Asymmetric Recordings with a wonderful 9 track album. This album is firmly aimed at the dance floor, as every track (apart from the last) is a peak time melodic slice of musical magic. Drawing on all of Israel's current musical form and musical dominance, starting with the quirkiness of 'Tetrahedrone', the hypnotic flavours of 'Coincidence' and the dreamy edges of 'Attention'. We start getting serious as 'Air' unfurls its musicality, while the warm yet trippy sounds of 'Kaktus' bring a smile to your face, before 'Roots' take things deeper, with great use of vocals. 'Eight Hours' goes a little darker, yet still full of harmonics, before picking up the pace with the haunting 'Asibolla', before we are treated to the outro 'Patient'. Early Support : Hernan Cattaneo, Cid Inc, Erick Morillo, Cevin Fisher, Seth Schwarz, Pete Oak, Chicola, Danito, Kadosh, Alex Zed, Luke Garcia, Eli Nissan, Arrab, Lexicon Avenue, Chris Fortier, Nii Tei, Chris Cargo, Dimitri Schnider / Definition, Balad and many more
CD1 starts with a nice sublime cut from Universal Agents that people may think pays homage to the Tigerhook Corp, but there is a reason for that as one of its members was actually involved in the production, working alongside the mighty G-Pal. The excellent Jay Tripwire continues this deep intro, before the massive smash hit that is BLH's Marscarter (John Debo and Steve Porter's remix) which oozes a raw yet perfect bass led house track from an era long since passed. Things head off in a deeper direction as we glide through Thomas Penton and Luis Dura's brooding Control Factor, sweeping deeper still into the lush deep house of Illinton's interpretation of Choc Electrique's ‘Edge Of Time’ into a track from promising producer Haris with a track that was given exclusively to Fortier entitled ‘Touched By Dub’. Its classic time once more as a track from around 1992 is inserted, Dearboy's ‘Greyclouds 9’ and people may recognise the sample from God Within's seminal classic, ‘Raincry’. Ben Camp's ‘Timewreck’ is up next, as Mara grip it and reinterpret it leading into the massive collaboration between Bill Hamel and London boys Swain & Snell, resulting in the fresh sound of Future. Chris sprinkles some breaks into the mix from Meat Katie as the cd ends with the soothing yet disturbingly dirty Chab mix of Sunscape & Chris Dee's ‘Generik’, leaving you gasping for more.
As the sound of thunder and deep atmospheric effects signal the start of CD2, Women Of Colour's ‘Elemental’ trickles through the speakers onto Deep C and Randall Jones’ percussion driven ‘The One’, with its smokey sax samples that ease the mood into a deep drop courtesy of Chris's studio partner Neil Kolo, whose solo project Nova marks a turning point in the cd, its deep and trippy percussion leading into a sublime break before driving straight into the hypnotic ‘Gasp’ by Dan Morris & Shylock. Chris's friend Steve Porter pops up once more with John Debo as we get 'Deported'. A bit of oriental flavour is sprinkled in from Hong Kong producer Tszpun as the mix moves subtly along and into Steve Porter's massive single ‘Nordica’ lifts the pace a few notches, as the tough, house chords and vocals of Coco Da Silva's ‘@Night’ erupt, you find yourself getting drawn in even deeper. John Graham and Steve Porter's ‘Two Days On Landsdown’, a track briefly unsigned at the time but which became a monster. Rounding off the cd we have one of Chris's favourite artists Angel Moraes with the tough I-Jack remix of ‘Turn It Up’ before the final track from Chris himself, ‘Losing Wait’ making sure you are in for the ride right till the end, an amazing end to an amazing cd.

He launched his Perspectives Digital record label in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. In 2016 he was nominated for ‘Best Progressive House Artist’ in the annual Beatport Awards, and in 2011, John Digweed named him one of the winners in his DJ Competition sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live. To date, Darin has released music on many of the industry's most respected labels including Sudbeat, Global Underground, Renaissance, Hope Recordings, microCastle, Selador, and Perfecto Records. His productions have entered Beatport's Top 100 charts numerous times and are featured in the compilations of Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, and Max Graham. He cites a variety of important influences in the past decade, from the early Leftfield and Future Sound of London albums, to the iconic Global Underground compilation series, to the sweeping sounds of Paul Oakenfold circa 1999, to Sasha & Digweed's mind-blowing Delta Heavy tour in 2002. If you have ever been in the audience to catch one of his live sets, it becomes immediately apparent that he is proficiently skilled as a DJ as well. His frequent flyer miles are continually on the rise with regular tours around the world. He has electrified audiences across the United States, as well as headlined dozens of countries across 6 continents. Over the years, he has shared the spotlight with many of dance music's superstars including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Sasha, James Zabiela, Armin van Buuren B2B Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, BT, and countless others. He has headlined over 7 major festivals by North America’s biggest promoter, Insomniac Events, and been invited to perform at Amsterdam Dance Event, Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, BPM Festival, and South By Southwest (SXSW). With hard work, passion, pure dedication to his art, and support from the industry's most revered names, this Chicago native turned LA transplant aims to prove that this is only the beginning to a long and promising career.

VridianMusic (New Delhi, India) VridianMusic is the shared moniker of Vir RC & Siddhant Jain. With a hybrid approach, this initiative intends to offer a musical experience that blends the known, to fuel the unknown. Infatuated and influenced by dance culture from when they were just teens, this duo enjoys their time on either side of the DJ console. Now in their twenties, VridianMusic is also striving in their time in the studio with releases on imprints such as Kiko Records, Substation Recordings and RF Music. Touching into various styles such as Electronica, Deep House, Techno and Tech House, music that keeps a groove consistent in a plethora of atmospheres and a variation of rhythms. With a quest for all things eclectic, VridianMusic intends to be a well-rounded establishment for emotive electronic music (not limited to dance music). The project has become a part of Vancouver's renowned Gorgomish after-hours family and 2017 has seen the duo release original music internationally, garnering support from the likes of Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Danny Tenaglia, Sam Divine, Rennie Foster, Chris Fortier, FILM, Owen Ni, Ibiza Global Radio, Decoded Mag, DJ Mag IT and many more. Chris Fortier delivered one of the more interesting Balance compilations when he dropped compilation number 7 in the series. It was 3 CDs deep and filled with the sort of moody, tech-filled music which on first listen was bewildering, yet strangely alluring. It featured many artists at the early stage of their careers (Mathew Jonson and Alex Smoke come to mind), and showed that there was more to the progressive house sound which was so prevalent back then: It even received a strong 4.5/5 on Resident Advisor. Indeed, the Fade Recordings owner's keen ear for a great underground track, and his eagerness to do some decent crate digging were on full display. Then again, Chris Fortier is a true professional who have traveled the world playing at the best venues and events. He has tasted success in the club and and in the studio: Fortier’s remix of Delerium's "Silence", was the first and original remix and sold in excess of one million copies worldwide, and he has one full length album to his name, "As Long As The Moment Exists”. In 2005 Chris Fortier compiled his acclaimed Balance compilation - and 11 years later we welcome back the American selector for a very smooth Balance Selections podcast... For episode #11 of the DC House Grooves Meet the Locals Podcast, we've got an exclusive set from Auricle Recordings label boss and DC local Rodd Sim, recorded live at Fusion Factory in Denver on February 7th 2015. In his own words: "This mix was conceived and executed in the darkest depths of the Denver Warehouse scene. While at fusion factory and playing with legend Chris Fortier, I released his assault on the unsuspecting ravers at Fusion Factory on Feb 7th, 2015. A fusion of element and sound blending house, minimal and techno together, the dancefloor was rocking for over two hours. Tracks from reputed labels as Bedrock, Selador, Fade, Auricle, Dirtybird and more kept the dancefloor hungry. They were graced by such artists as Luke Mandala, Justin Martin, Dave Seaman, myself and Darius Twin. Their thirst for quality beats sated they were ready for the next offering." Look out for upcoming releases from Rodd on Kool Katz, Neptune City, Egothermia, Clandestine, Auricle, and Animar, plus a couple of Dancelab remixes signed to upcoming labels. Patrick Zigon is hailing from Germany’s beautiful and inspiring city Konstanz at the Lake of Constance, which probably is one of the reasons why he drops such jaunty and fresh beats. Being active in the electronic music scene since 1996, Patrick since then eminently contributes to the establishment and development of electronic music in South Germany as a DJ, producer and promoter. First own releases promptly showed up in the boxes of international big names. Though Patrick never liked to be pigeonholed, which he perfectly underlines with his productions for labels such as Sven Väths’ Cocoon Recordings, Anthony Rothers’ Datapunk, Puzzle Traxx, Sounderground, Tanzbar, Turbo, Great Stuff, Trapez, Traum, Treibstoff, Kling Klong and Session Deluxe. Especially his remixes for artists such as Guy Gerber, Shlomi Aber, Gregor Tresher, Steve Lawler, Chris Fortier, Gui Boratto, Ramon Tapia, Martin Eyerer, Extrawelt etc. show his status in the current electronic music-scene. 2005 he created himself his own little Traumraum (the german word for Dreamroom), which is not only the name of his production studio, but also the name of his event series @ venues such as his long-term Stuttgart based resident club Climax Institutes. His current releases and remixes perfectly mirror, for what Patricks name stands nowadays – hypnotic Tech House with good portion of soul. Soon after that they got a chance to do a remix for great Belgian dj and producer, Tom Hades and his “ Cinema Club“ track alongside with well-known Brazilian dj and producer Wehbba. The release was supported by world famous djs like Laurent Garnier, Joey Beltram, Chris Fortier... Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground MovementWhile many people may claim to know Chris’ sound, with their focus on continually labeling him one thing or another, Chris is equally as focused on his efforts to push back the musical boundaries. It is testament to the man that he continues to develop his sound and musical direction, after all, as the man says himself “I just like to play good underground music, I don’t limit myself.”It is artists such as Chris Fortier who are inextricably linked to the underground dance music scene that are the genuinely pushing the sound forward. Chris’ determination to continue to push the envelope can be seen in all aspects of his career. Proof of this can be found on his recent triple CD compilation Balance and his recent solo production under the 40oz moniker and his stellar debut artist album As Long As The Moment Exits. The Balance CD genuinely offers something exciting and underground to the current stale compilation market. Boasting tracks from across the musical spectrum like David Gilmore Girls, Global Communication and Floppy Sounds through to Slam, Matthew Jonson, Rabbit in the Moon and Bent. It is little wonder the CD was name checked for compilation of the year by numerous international press publications.Under his 40oz production guise Chris has released the several EPs that musically could fit comfortably on labels such as Cocoon, Kompakt or Get Physical. Further remixes of Alexi Delano, Joshua Collins, Lee Burridge, Freaky Chakra and John Selway show Chris’ genre defying sound at it’s underground best. Taking this a step further in 2007, his debut artist album was released to countless plaudits and impeccable praise. Not satisfied with status quo, look for the boundaries to continue to be pressed and pushed with each coming musical excursion. With a DJ career spanning 15 plus years, he has continually been a crowd favourite, confirmed by his very first residency at the legendary “Aahz” in Orlando through to more recent residencies at The Cross in London and at Twilo in New York. Since a debut European tour in 1997, Chris has gone on to consistently tour the globe behind numerous singles, remixes and no less than 9 mix albums. You can catch him as easily in Tokyo as in Buenos Aires and all points in between on any given weekend. To those that know Fortier’s history, they know to expect plenty more to come, for those that are just getting initiated, Welcome!About Fade Records:Fade Records was created out of necessity in 1993. At the helm is American DJ Chris Fortier. Chris and studio partner, Neil Kolo, needed an outlet to release the tracks they were producing together. With not many options in the States, it seemed obvious to start a label and create the opportunities themselves. The first release was in 1994 called "...For All the People". This track gave them a voice and platform for the future productions. The next three tracks, "All I Got", "Separation" and "So Good" were more highly praised and received heavy support from the biggest DJs out there, including Sasha, John Digweed and Dave Seaman. Equal support came from the USA from Kimball Collins, DJ Icey and John Debo as well as the brand new Mixmag USA (which eventually would be known as Mixer). This great support put the duo on the map and started every label in the UK demanding their talents for remix duties. After several years of building their profile through remixes and the odd single, Chris wanted to re-launch the label in the hopes to help discover and cultivate new talent from America. Steve Porter was the man for this job as Chris discovered him at age 17. With the productions of Steve Porter and others like Derek Howell, Royal Sapien, Funk Harmony Park & Tonepushers, the label is as strong as ever and having great success worldwide. www.faderecords.comSpecial Thanks to Mr Chris Fortier.

Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground MovementTHE FADE STORY…FADE was formed in the summer of 1993 when Neil Kolo, a young studio engineer, introduced himself to Chris Fortier, a young resident DJ at the infamous "Marz" club in Cocoa Beach, FL, and passed on a tape of some of the material he had been working on. Chris, very enthused by what he had heard, expressed his interest in the idea of working together and learning about how to produce tracks of his own like the ones he had been playing up and down the East Coast of America. The two instantly clicked and a friendship was formed. Two years later, the pair released their first record titled "...For All The People". They Floated a few one-sided promos out to gauge reaction. Meanwhile, a second track was completed, "All I Got". The two tracks were then combined as a double A-sided release, which was the first release on FADE Records, the label that Chris owns and operates. "All I Got" caught the attention of UK duo Chris & James, who helped it get signed to Mushroom Records where James was working as an A & R representative. In August of 1995, Fade released two new singles, "So Good" and "Separation". The Two Tracks received massive support from some of the biggest DJs around including their biggest inspiration, SASHA. The records became underground hits and quickly sold out. Soon after, Glasgow’s Limbo Records signed the duo for a multi-album record deal in February 1996.This success opened the door for the boys to move into the realm of remixing. First, they did remixes for friends John Debo and DJ Icey. This gave them more exposure and experience and led to remixes for Stress records and Sony’s S3 label. The Summer of 1996 brought new challenges. Now they were going to get a chance to work on more vocal oriented songs. One such song was Sam Mollison’s "Cry". When finished, the "Cry" remix set a new standard for Fade and the quality of tracks they could produce. Dave Seaman heard "Cry" and quickly added it to his Essential Mix for England’s Radio 1 FM and his Renaissance Volume 4 mix compilation on Network Records. With this surge of notoriety, DMC’s Guy Ornadel contacted Chris & Neil to remix Future Force’s "What You Want" for DMC’s Remix Culture. Rising to another level, Fade delivered one of the progressive anthems of 1996 winning Remix and Remixer of the Year in Australia. This gave way to the chance to remix Marathon’s "Movin" and Viola Wills "It’s My Pleasure", two of the guys all time favorite tracks, as well as getting the chance to remix another big influence, BT, for his song "Quark".1997 saw the boys getting attention from major labels for remixes, as well as writing and producing their own more vocal based material under the guises of Fade and Nutribe. They released their first vocal track with singer Dauby Talles called "No Resolve". This was another pinnacle in their rising careers. "No Resolve" saw heavy play from John Digweed on the Northern Exposure 2 Tour, climbed as high as #12 in the Cool Cuts Chart and has become a Florida club anthem.1998 saw Chris and Neil further expanding their horizons by doing remix work for more Indie style bands and artists like Sarah McLachlan and Delerium. The Delerium which features Sarah McLachlan on vocals and has been tearing up clubland since the first time heard at Renaissance in Ibiza when John Digweed dropped it at the closing party. Sasha quickly rang up for a copy and the tune soon became an anthem for the pair at every gig including Twilo. It even had Sasha opening and closing his sets with it at Cream and Tyrant. With the rest of clubland searching for it, Delerium debuted and #5 in MixMag Update’s Buzz Chart and appeared on the Northern Exposure 3 CD. This was truly a high point for Chris and Neil in their ever rising careers. 1998 also saw the release of "Sanctuaries" The Fade Records Collection. a collection of work including a number of unreleased remixes and original productions. The CD was released in conjunction with Universal Music.Throughout ’99 and 2000, the duo worked on their debut artist album and saw the release of their "Silence" remix released in Australia. The record was an instant hit and went to #6 in the National chart and rose to Platinum status (70, 000 units sold) in Australia alone. It also went to #1 in Holland, Belgium and Ireland, with total sales over One Million Units. Also completed was another mixed CD, mixed as Fade, called "Anthems of Progressive House: Limbo Records" and was released in November 2000. Chris made the move to New York City where he now calls home.During 2001 the pair continued their prolific remix work for new artists Andy Hunter, Lunik (Delerium) and Balligomingo. They have also produced tracks and remixes for established artists like Tiesto and Sarah McLachlan again. For the past 6 years, both Neil and Chris have been concentrating on solo work. One day they may reunite, but only time will tell.www.FadeRecords.com

It is testament to the man that he continues to develop his sound and musical direction, after all, as the man says himself “I just like to play good underground music, I don’t limit myself.” It is artists such as Chris Fortier who are inextricably linked to the underground dance music scene that are the genuinely pushing the sound forward. It is little wonder the CD was name checked for compilation of the year by numerous international press publications. Under his 40oz production guise Chris has released the several EPs that musically could fit comfortably on labels such as Cocoon, Kompakt or Get Physical. To those that know Fortier’s history, they know to expect plenty more to come, for those that are just getting initiated, Welcome! Special Thanks to Mr Chris Fortier. www.myspace.com/chrisfortier www.faderecords.com

As teenage acquaintances they quickly realized each other’s talents for remixing and producing quality Electronic Music. This natural bond fueled an interest in both Ariel and Jesse to help each other successfully further their music careers. For several years Ariel G & Jesse Perez joined forces and began to take weekly Hip Hop gigs at different nightclubs and lounges throughout the Miami area. This made a long night of playing music an opportunity to discuss current (Electronic) projects they currently worked on individually. Around this time Ariel was also launching the first releases from his newly formed Label, Behold Recordings, featuring remixes from Jeff Bennett, Chris Fortier, and Saeed Younan. Jesse was then asked to remix Behold’s new release, and the rest is history.Jesse Perez became one of the biggest artists on Behold, having almost every track he touched Chart top 40 and Ariel G took on a residency at one of world’s best known nightclubs, Club Space 34. Here he shared the booth with the likes of Sasha, Pete Tong, Sharam, Desyn Masiello, Nic Fanciulli, Sander Kleinenberg, Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, Ceballos, Oscar G, and many others. Together, Ariel G & Jesse Perez, form a duo that is unique with their experience, knowledge, and appreciation of all forms of music. It is not surprising to hear them push the envelope and drop an original 80’s Classic in one of their live sets to stir up the crowd. In a day where it is hard to depict refreshing new talent, they are at the forefront of the future.DISCOGRAPHY:Ariel G & Gabriel Marcos-Aconoserme (Original) (O Recs.)
