Examination is a big part of how we find the best of the best. This podcast was created to explore life, transparency, perseverance, and all the ways we have learned and been tested in our own lives. From the greatest outcomes to the worst outcomes, sometimes our hypothesis isn't what we thought. We all want to live an abundant life, have a healthy lifestyle, be connected in great relationships, and be at the top of our game. But how? There are three principal means of acquiring knowledge: observation of nature, reflection, and experimentation. Observation collects facts; reflection combines them; experimentation verifies the result of that combination. Join host Brandon Pogue and his guests as they take you on a journey of self-discovery, sharing their experiences and insights on how to evolve into who you were created to be. It's time to take a step into The Lab with Brandon Pogue.

She also shares the important dates you'll need to know for the Viral Jesus summer series. Social media—blessing or a curse? The same tool that is used as a blessing to connect us to people around the world can also be used to interfere with our identity and relationship with the Lord. When we're focused on getting affirmation from our followers on social media, it can be easy to forget that we are ALREADY affirmed as children of God.
The 2022 Lagerpalooza is set for May 7. The two-part event features one of the country's largest—if not the largest—lager-specific homebrew competition. Brewed by Chaz Smith, proceeds from the sale of Nala's Nectar benefit the Davis County Animal Shelter. Can you imagine living outside in this cold weather? As you can imagine, people are risking frostbite while they sleep outdoors because they don't - for many reasons - want to use Calgary's downtown homeless shelter. This morning we talked about the homeless situation in our city is Chaz Smith, president and CEO of the outreach organization BeTheChangeYYC. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We begin with a look at the continuing and complex issue of homelessness in Calgary. We speak with Chaz Smith, President and Founder of “BeTheChangeYYC.” Chaz explains why he believes “warming centres” would be a viable option for the city and how he feels City Council could better to help those in need. Next, it's an apology from the ‘top-brass' of the Canadian Armed Forces, aimed at those who've been affected by sexual assault, harassment or discrimination – but is it enough, and what's coming next? We get the latest from Amanda Connolly, Political Reporter with Global News. Then, could it be that a drug, already in production, and used worldwide, may contain properties that could combat Alzheimer's Disease? We catch up with Dr. Ted Jablonski, our “on-call family physician” for details on a new study on an ‘alternate' use for Viagra. Finally, what the heck is a “Fooman Cookie” or a “Chewgurt Yummy”? We get answers from Camie Leard, Editor of “Savour Calgary” magazine, who joins us to share details of the latest issue of the magazine (now available) which also happens to mark the publication's 2nd Anniversary. Never been in a relationship?
On this special podcast version of The Breakdown, we are proud and excited to share a conversation with Founder and CEO of “Be The Change YYC”, Chaz Smith. As the expression goes, the measure of any society is how they take care of their most vulnerable. There's no question that some of the most vulnerable Albertans are the ones who survive on the streets. The number of homeless Albertans in our province continues to grow, and their vulnerability has only increased during the Pandemic. As part of the early pandemic response, the government of Alberta set up several warehouse style shelters across the province, but those shelters have received a lot of criticism. In Calgary, part of the initial response to care for the homeless population was to house members of the homeless population in vacant hotel rooms, but this option was squashed by the province citing suicide concerns and stating that the rooms would have to be retrofitted to removed string and wires, despite the ready availability of these items on the streets where the homeless spend most of their time. Additionally, the province obtained exemptions to decrease the required social distancing from 2 meters to 1 m inside of homeless shelters, which to many, created a significant double standard. This is our extended conversation.

Rerun of #866, from December 2002. Arteests include John Lennon, a lotta Lemur, Bro. Cleve Dunkan doing The SubGenius Alphabet, ESO Radio with Chaz Smith, Lonesome Cowboy Dave and Stang, Zoogz Rift, Drexel, DK Jones, Half Man Half Biscuit, Puzzling Evidence, The Black Lodge Singers, Dr. Philo Drummond, Rev. Jimmy Swaggart, Dr. Howll, Byron Werner collage x 10, Israel Regardie and Christopher Hyatt. We couldn't assemble a new SubGenius show this week because we only have one week in which to cast four fossil dinosaur tracks on Stang Ranch and scientifically map them out on a big grid before rains come and put them under water again for the next seven months. It's a long story. We're documenting the process. But this is a really good rerun and it's a better copy than could ever be downloaded before.
