Generational Shifts: A 2025 National Research Group study found that nearly 50% of men aged 13–30 desire to see men become more emotionally vulnerable, indicating a shift in perspective among younger generations. Mixed Opinions: Data from the Movember Foundation reveals that 31% of men surveyed view the ability to cry or be emotionally open as a strength, while 34% see it as a weakness. Adam Tomlin is the host of the ACT OUT podcast. Before embarking on his journey as a podcaster, he worked as an attorney, where he dedicated as much effort to avoiding his own emotions as he did to advancing someone else's dreams. After a couple of years of rewiring his mindset, he became frustrated with the narrative perpetuated by the "podcaster bro" culture, which suggested that compassion was a weakness incompatible with masculinity and the pursuit of a better world. This inspired Adam to create the ACT OUT podcast to change that perspective. He advocates for everyone to have the ability to pursue their happiness, allowing ALL individuals to make a life, earn a living, and make a difference. Adam's story reflects the American experience. At one point, I introduced myself with the line, "I began every attorney bio that way." In hindsight, that may have sounded more pretentious than charming, but ironically, it was more accurate than I realized. At the time, I felt stuck, empty, and like a bad person. Unfortunately, that feeling is a common narrative for many people, and I want to help change it. I was born and raised in a small rural town in northwest Georgia, where the accents were so strong that I didn't realize I had one until I went to college in Atlanta. Growing up, I was taught that the only acceptable feelings were “positive” ones, and even those came with terms and conditions. As a result, I tried to suppress all my emotions, but I was wildly unsuccessful. Nonetheless, I didn't seek help for my mental health until much later in life. We go over the few new names that are included in that list of staff members, and we also have conversations on the overall size of the staff and much more related to that Thursday announcement by the team. Several current and former Steelers have now chimed in on the comments made by Joey Porter Sr. about Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger during his recent interview on the Cameron Heyward podcast, so we go over the latest related to that topic. Former NFL QB Derek Carr has made it known that he is open to a comeback in 2026 should the right opportunity present itself so Alex and I address what all he had to say recently and whether the quarterback could be a plausible and possible fit with the Steelers. The NFL has reportedly now informed all 32 teams in a memo that it prevailed in its grievance vs. the NFLPA and its “team report cards" after an arbitrator determined that the NFLPA's conduct violated the CBA and ordered it to stop making public any future report cards. Alex and I both have opinions and reactions to that Friday breaking news. A judge ruled on Thursday in favor of Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss still having a year of college eligibility remaining due to a medical hardship a few years ago, so Alex and I react to that news during this show. On the heels of my first 2026 salary cap update for the Steelers being posted on Thursday, Alex and I discuss everything related to that topic. We also discuss potential March salary cap casualties related to the Steelers in addition to other ways the team might decide to create additional space should they deem that necessary during the offseason. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss the probability and plausibility related to offseason contract extensions being signed by CB Joey Porter Jr., K Chris Boswell, OLB Nick Herbig, DT Keeanu Benton, and TE Darnell Washington. Matt Jones and Drew Franklin are back in Kentucky and watched the Seahawks become Super Bowl Champions! Matt notes the rough night had by Will Campbell, but just how good are the Seahawks? Matt looks ahead to next season and how Seatte's schedule will play out? Drew was impressed by the showing from Seahawks fans in San Francisco.
