Rerun. Disneyland Paris, now Europe's most popular theme park, initially haemorrhaged money - at a rate of around $1 million per day. But, after three hard years, it returned its first annual profit on 16th November, 1995.  This change in the park's fortunes can be attributed to the popularity of two trains: the opening of the Eurostar direct line from London, and the building of the world's most expensive roller coaster, Space Mountain, which first launched from Discoveryland on 1st June. Of all the Tomorrowlands in all the Magic Kingdom-style parks, there is no version more unique than the one in Disneyland Paris, whose title is not Tomorrowland but Discoveryland. A couple of posters that Jim did before his Disney tenure recently caught our attention while planning this episode. Jim had indeed dabbled in the Milieu of Milhous (President Nixon's middle name) earlier in his career. And, he is even responsible for a classic Jefferson Airplane poster, seemingly straight outta "the Height." Jim has of course done many posters and place setting art for the Disney Parks, but probably none as well known as his Disneyland Railroad poster, and its' similarly arranged descendants, depicting other Disney rail lines around the world. This political poster for Richard Nixon's 1968 presidential election campaign shows the presidential hopeful in the foreground with his running mate, Spiro Agnew behind him on the right. There are images of celebrities (such as Clint Eastwood), sports figures (Wilt Chamberlain and Bart Starr), politicians (Ronald Reagan), and others are in the background, as well as Nixon's daughter and a group of young people who carry placards. Space moutain et Indiana Jones c’est pour les plus grands (1 m 40), Big Thunder Mountain, j’ai pu le faire avec ma fille de 5 ans, elle a adoré. 10ème conseil : Va voir des spectacles J’ai été agréablement surpris par le spectacle la reine des neiges. In the Camp Minnie Mickey section of Disney's Animal Kingdom you'll find the Festival of the Lion King. In Hong Kong Disneyland in Adventureland you'll find their version of the Festival of the Lion King (check out MMCTV EP0110 to watch their show). In Disneyland Paris, deep in the heart of Discoveryland is the Videopolis Theater. There you will find the third incarnation of the Lion King. Their version is called The Legend of the Lion King. Each version tells a similar story but are all different from each other. The two Fesitvals are done in the round while Legend is done in a more traditional stage setting.
