Takeaways: Understanding Metrics and KPIs: It's crucial to grasp the difference between various performance metrics and KPIs. This understanding helps in measuring the effectiveness of Amazon advertising strategies and making informed decisions. Focus on Key Metrics: Sellers should focus on key metrics like ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sales), ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), and TACoS (Total Advertising Cost of Sales) to evaluate the performance of their ad campaigns. These metrics provide insights into the efficiency and profitability of advertising efforts. Strategic Planning and Budget Allocation: Successful Amazon advertising involves strategic planning and proper budget allocation. Knowing how to allocate the budget based on performance data ensures that the ad spend generates optimal returns. Optimization of Ad Campaigns: Regularly optimizing ad campaigns based on performance metrics is essential. This includes adjusting bids, refining targeting, and managing keywords to improve the return on ad spend. Utilizing Advanced Tools: Leveraging advanced advertising tools and software can provide deeper insights into campaign performance. Tools like those offered by AdBadger or Search Scientists can help automate and optimize advertising strategies for better results. Community and Networking: Engaging with communities and forums, such as Core Community, can provide valuable insights and strategies from other sellers and industry experts. Networking and sharing experiences can enhance advertising tactics and overall performance. Quote of the Show:Would you rather have 10 exact match keywords each getting one conversion a month or one broad match keyword achieving 10 conversions a month? The math is the same, but the broad match keyword is easier to control and more likely to improve your ACOS. DJ Glenn Aure was born and raised in the Bay Area. He learned how to play the drums at the early age of 9, which helped him understand the theory of measures, tempo, and syncopation. Glenn began collecting his own vinyl to start building up his own collection of music. Inspired by DJ legends on the radio (Cameron Paul, Michael Erickson, Alex Mejia, Theo), Glenn continued to work on his craft and carving out his own style of DJing. In 1991, Glenn participated in the local 106 KMEL Radio “Battle of The DJs” contest which he won and earned a guest spot on the station. That guest spot eventually led to a permanent weekend mix show slot on the station. Glenn was eventually asked by Sway to be his DJ on the weekly KMEL 10 o'clock Bomb show, which centered around highlighting new music and artists. They helped introduce and break many artists and songs on this platform. A bigger break for Glenn would come in 1994 as Sway was promoted to Morning Drive and brought Glenn in as his Morning Show DJ. Glenn was heard daily in the mix, providing that music soundtrack to the Bay Area listeners. After a few years of doing Morning Drive, Sway left KMEL for MTV which then led to Glenn becoming Music Director for KMEL. As the station's Music Director, Glenn was responsible for choosing and programming what music got played on the station. He helped mold the sound of KMEL and the Bay Area. Glenn also worked for labels such as Epic, Republic, and Def Jam Records, serving as Radio Promotions for these companies. #djglennaure #dj #kmel #bayarea #hiphop #rap #radio #radiostation #music #podcast #noideasoriginalpodcast #interview #spotify #youtube #soundcloud #defjam #epic #radiopromotions
Managing PPC campaigns on Amazon is one of the most effective methods to drive sales. If done well, it can be extremely profitable, but if not done well, it can also be an absolute drain on your profits. The other challenge is that as you grow, it can become incredibly time-consuming, but the good news is that there are many options to help you run your ad campaigns more effectively (and free up your time to focus on other important activities). In this episode, Michael Erickson Facchin from AdBadger comes on to discuss different ways that sellers can better manage their ads. Having highly relevant targets and strategic campaign structures is not the end-all-be-all when managing your ads. Often, we see sellers focusing too much on their campaign structures and targets while taking a reactive approach to bidding, which usually results in poor advertising performance. It is important to understand that successful campaigns are designed with a step-by-step, strategic and proactive bidding approach that aligns with the overall business goals. In today's episode, I was happy to be joined by Michael Erickson Facchin from Ad Badger to dive into various bid optimization strategies. We had a great time discussing how sellers can optimize their bids to align with overall business goals and get the most from their advertising efforts. Michael Erickson Facchin is the CEO of Ad Badger, a company that delivers powerful Amazon PPC software and resources. Michael specializes in helping Amazon marketers and entrepreneurs scale their advertising campaigns and boost their revenue. Michael's initial experience with online marketing comes from his role as a PPC Strategist for Search Scientists, where he continues to work to this day. He is also the host of the PPC Den, a podcast that discusses the fundamentals of Amazon PPC. In this episode… There are a lot of different ways to get your brand promoted on Amazon. As PPC has grown in usage, the results haven't always followed proportionally. After all, there's a limited amount of space and customer attention to go around, despite a seemingly endless number of products in the marketplace. So how do you get that extra leg up on the competition? Plenty of experts offer their advice on how to excel, but few have built a community around it. Michael Erickson Facchin, the CEO of Ad Badger, has designed his software company by pulling from a larger pool of technology and expertise. The result is a service that delivers concrete results the old-fashioned way: by getting well-researched people in one place. In this episode of the Ecommerce Wizards Podcast, Guillaume Le Tual talks with Michael Erickson Facchin about his Amazon PPC software company, Ad Badger. They discuss the early days of the company and Michael's experience with fundraising. Michael also goes into detail on acquiring customers, optimizing your marketing channels, and making your mark on Amazon. They even share the tips and tools your brand needs to succeed. Michael Erickson is the CEO of Ad Badger, easily the best podcast that is dedicated to Amazon PPC. I've listened to them test real case studies, doing things to prove them so to speak. When Amazon misleads or doesn't transparently share how things work, these guys know how to cut through the thick of it and figure it out. PPC, the most important thing on Amazon or the mostest important thing on Amazon? If you had to summarize your entire 100 podcasts into one soundbite, what have you learned about PPC?Right product with right message to right consumer at right time.People who master PPC - wield a weapon. What they know to be true is that there are many ways to market your product. Lot of PPC dimensions. Not all keywords are treated equal. One keyword will be best.So what you're saying is, put my top 3 keywords on a manual campaign and an auto campaign and I will then have Amazon passive income? /sSimple and digestable - and giving the right advice. Step by step process is a disservice.Be helpful/accessible but too complex. How many ads is too many?Improvements someone can make today:View search term reportAdd new negativesNegative phrase and exact match. When would I want a high ACOS?More often than one would think.Amazon looks at conversions and orders.Pick between 10 orders at 10% acos, or 100 orders at 50% acos, most of the time it makes more sense to do 100 orders at 50% acos.More reviews creates more orders. What has changed on Amazon?Way more adsWhat will change in 2021?More ads.Higher complexity.Higher CPCCounter to this to make best listing for that keyword. If you bid less, if you convert better. Be the best result.More competitionMUST have brand registry. What use case was the most helpful to your cause? Most surprising? The higher you spend the lower your ACOS. Diminishing returns?Product market fit - spend more to hungrier market.Growing up played starcraft. Got a degree in biology. Jonathan Michael Erickson may live in Portland, but he wants you to know he hasn't given up on Los Angeles. There's room for both desert and lush green spaces in his work, just as there is in his own life. Appropriately, Erickson reached out to us some months ago, while both Kend and Tony were caught up in travels of their own. Now that schedules and disruptions have evened out, we're excited to connect the dots. Drawn to science fiction for its boundary-blurring possibilities, Erickson began writing his first novel, "Relics of Andromeda," while on a road trip--and his characters journey far and wide as well as deep into their own subconscious in his work. We spoke with Erickson about crafting a science fictional narrative informed by Depth Psychology, landscape, and yes! imagination. You can read more about "Relics of Andromeda" as well as its upcoming sequel and Erickson's other works-in-progress at www.jonathanmichaelerickson.com. Like our content?
