“If there are kids in high school that are showing an interest, or a passion, or want to try something, we absolutely do not want literacy barriers, financial barriers to be an issue. So, we want to be able to be there to assist and make sure they get those opportunities.” Lindsey Haring & Celia Uribe are a partner and board member of PEAK. In this episode, Lindsey and Celia chat with Luis about San Luis Obispo, best places to hike there, PEAK or Promoting Extracurricular Activities for Kids, history and mission of PEAK, how to submit your hike so money will be donated, the importance of PEAK, Peaks for PEAK fundraiser, volunteers, and The Mountain Air store. PEAK's mission is to enable all TK-12 students in San Luis Obispo to participate in extracurricular activities. Welcome! Today I share a recent experience with “ego backlash,” and we explore the reasons why this intense phenomenon arises. Indeed, if we are able to remain as non-reactive as possible, this essential phase can ultimately reveal more of our sovereign nature. We then discuss how an increasing sense of divine appropriation, a bold claiming of our dreams into the external dimension of our lives, is a hallmark of spiritual maturity. Neville Goddard's short lecture “Brazen Impudence” provides excellent clarity around these themes. Musical selection: Mountain Air by Cody Francis. How important is it for Kirk to keep this up now with a Danny Jansen hand fracture? He gets to the ABs seen from Vladimir Guerrero Jr., including some unfortunate Angel Hernandez-induced results, and also discusses the play of Davis Schneider and Ernie Clement. Is Clement making a case to stay in the majors, and how has Schneider looked at third base? The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

Josh and Lindsey Haring own The Mountain Air, a shop in downtown San Luis Obispo that sells outdoor gear like skis, sleeping bags, and hiking shoes. And because it's summer, and because Josh and Lindsey have been dear friends of mine for years, I thought we could talk about eating and cooking on the trail or at the campground. Camping and backpacking food and gear has come a long way since I was a kid, and I wanted to share the Harings' expertise with you, as well as their story. The Mountain Air opened in 1975, so there's lots to cover. And yes, we talked about radishes, a vegetable that Josh believes shouldn't be served at Halloween parties. Hello! And welcome to series two of Mountain Air! It's an absolute pleasure for this episode to be supported by UKHillwalking.com, and an equal pleasure to be bringing you 87-minutes of conversation with Sibusiso Vilane - an inspirational man with an inspirational story to tell.In 2003, Sibusiso he became the first black African to summit Mt Everest, a phenomenal achievement given his impoverished roots and lack of mountaineering background, and one that earned him the attention and praise of Nelson Mandela and the wider world. But his story runs far deeper than that. His childhood was one of extreme poverty in apartheid Johannesburg, and later in Swaziland (now Eswatini). Hard work, dedication and the privilege of being able to attend school from age 10 eventually brought him a job as a tourist officer in a nature reserve, a position which made possible a chance meeting that would change the path of his life forever.Consumed by a passion for mountains and physical challenges, his life story is one that involves continental summits, ultra running, humility, the responsibilities of being a role model, laughter, charity work, motivational speaking, multiple summits of Everest and historical partnerships with... The aviation business isn't a simple one. It's loaded with all kinds of requirements - and the pilots like Joe Guardiola are the people who organize each of those missions that we take for granted when jumping on a plane to zip across timezones. This episode dives into some of the stories, nutty clients and risks that a private jet pilot's life encounters.  Most of us haven't landed on a strip in Central America - but nearly all of us can identify with Guardiola's sense of passion and desire to seek adventure. Shortly after recording this and the end of his vacation, Joe continues to fly humanitarian missions around the world to help with the covid-19 pandemic.  conventioNOT listeners won't find a more exciting career story... we've got plenty of those in our catalog to sift through - but the way that this Denver Pilot opens up about the details inside the private jet industry sheds a different light about what goes on during those flights.

For the beard portion of the podcast, Dan and Eric review the Beard Care Starter Kit from Artius Man in Citrus Fire Scent. Evan provides his review of the Mountain Air scented beard oil from the company. Lastly, Evan gives 515 Brewing Co. out of Des Moines a lot of business when he leaves his growler of Baby Groot (a beer in the "gruit" style, translation: no hops!) in Cedar Rapids and has to buy another. Have you worked harder than ever on your life, your sobriety, your addictions, and suddenly, without a warning, relapse in your recovery?  Slam; you can hear, feel, sense and regret hitting the cement wall with vengeance.  Now what the heck do you do? Blame, anger, pity, anxiety and depression on the table and you just can't seem to 'clear the palate' of all your past and present patterns. My guest today is Holli Kenley, psychotherapist and author of Mountain Air: Relapsing and finding The Way Back One Breath At A Time.  This book is an honest personal narrative of her experience that will allow you to connect and feel the path along the road.  Feeling alone, regrets, or crawling around the bottom of the self imposed hole you have dug for yourself, please listen, we will be sharing stories of people who have been there also.  Life with challenges are very similar to each other, they may just have a different way of presenting.  No worries.
