The once-bustling Embarcadero Plaza in San Francisco now bears a striking resemblance to a post-apocalyptic movie set. Once the thriving heart of the financial district, it's now become a ghost town. The bustling lunchtime crowds and shoppers have evaporated, leaving behind shuttered shops and a deafening silence that punctuates the air.Each corner of the Plaza screams a tale of economic catastrophe. Gone are the times when office-goers would frequent Pete's Coffee for their daily caffeine fix or Banana Republic for the latest fashion trends. Now, "Closed" signs hang on every storefront, a chilling testament to the pandemic's relentless economic havoc. Yet, amidst this grim scenario, there's a peculiar sense of optimism - a soundtrack of chirping birds, an overabundance of flora, and the occasional tourist exploring the deserted landscapes. Sure, the Plaza might feel eerily silent, but it's far from being dead.It's a scenario you wouldn't expect in the heart of a city once buzzing with life, but San Francisco's financial district isn't throwing in the towel just yet. With a surprising absence of vandalism and a maintenance team clearly not willing to let things fall apart, the district stands poised for resurgence. All it needs is a return to the old normal, or perhaps the ushering in of a new one. I feel like all of America looks at infrastructure kind of the way a negligent homeowner looks at their house. “Yeah, the roof's kinda leaky, but we'll give it another year.” Invariably what happens is you've waited too long, your whole house floods, your insurance premiums go up, and it costs you three times as much to fix your roof–because you waited. Writ large, that, to me, is how we deal with infrastructure. We just wait and wait, people fight over it, it gets more and more expensive, something happens, and then it's an emergency, and the labor costs are more expensive. And people rush, and they make mistakes. There's no regard for it. There's no respect for how important it is. Driving the desolate streets of Indianapolis brought me an eerie peace and unexpected surprises. It hearkened me to a time when the mystery of what was around the next bend was enough to keep my spirits high and my soul in balance. It's a feeling I'd let the noise of the world hide from me for too long.
Deep Energy 2.0 - Music for Sleep, Meditation, Relaxation, Massage and Yoga
So this piece of music came together as I was running down the road the other day. I was running down one of the main roads in my town and when the run was finished, I realized that I had not seen another person or a car hadn’t drove by me. I could have run down the middle of the road, which would have been fun, and not been driven over. And it got me thinking about everything that’s going on and how empty and deserted the streets have been in the last week or so. So this afternoon, I abandoned the music that was originally scheduled and found a great ambient piano sound, and just went for it. Everything I have been feeling, all of the nervousness and anxiety, for myself and everyone else. So this is the result. One take, fully improvised, minimal editing after. It’s very slow and sort of haunting, and evolves into something peaceful and calming. I hope it relaxes you and you enjoy it. TranceFusion (Empty Streets) Balearic Progressive Trance. First track "Empty Streets" is only a teaser. You WILL get a double dose of new Empty Streets remixes at the end of the set .. But you have to EARN IT! :) Slowly re-embarking on the Trance voyage. I realized I had not uploaded "new Trance" since the beginning 2016. Starting here at the confine of Progressive and Trance. What prompted the change of mindset? Two reasons: I looked at "House is a Journey" Spotify plays and was surprised that all the Trance uploads are getting large numbers of plays. Lars, a follower from way back, had requested some new Trance tunes. "Lars, I have another episode of Trance Mission lined up after this one. Pure Trance, Ganz für Dich, bitte warte eine woche!" Good Trance tracks, at least within what I find tolerable for 80 minutes, are few and far between! Either it is insipid commercial Trance or 138 bpm frantic tunes I really cannot listen to for that long. Yet, between some remixed or re-edited classics and enough new tunes, I can comfortably go back to the Trance, mix new and old and proudly keep the flame lit. Set started to overrun the 80 minutes format and I will post a follow-up pure Trance Mission episode in the next few weeks. It will mark the end of Progressive House and Trance for a little while! Most probably will go deep or soulful. In the meantime get some glow sticks, get sorted, put the proper gear on and embark!
