Co-Host Raj Khedun (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/raj) My first time guest Raj Khedun is one of the few and the proud who has turned his philosophy degree into a viable living. He's done that by helping men harness the power of their breathing. Now, before you dismiss this as yet another attempt to get guys to do yoga, hear Raj out. You see, too many of us as men let ourselves get all worked up over the little things in life--and can't seem to find our 'off' switch for the stress we compile--when our masculine edge is found in those moments we keep our cool even when the chips are down for real. So just to get it out of the way, Raj isn't gonna make you wear spandex and do lotus poses, dude. What he is all about, however, is introducing what he calls his 3:3 Metaverse Method to get your breathing to work for you instead of against you. As you know, I don't do a whole lot of shows on this sort of thing. But Raj is indeed on to something. We do his exercise live on the show, and although it made for a weird couple minutes of audio, I can vouch for its immediate impact. According to Raj, controlling our breathing can obviate the need for some of the meds we take, help insomnia, and yes...improve our interactions with women. How? Well, for starters it enables that elusive 'flow state' that men's dating advice has sought after dating back to the PUA era. The breathing exercise could also theoretically help you get in state before approaching women at the grocery store, or even when a woman comes over your place for the first time. Remember also, that your state affects that of the woman you love and even your kids. The possibilities are only limited by the number of instances you want to gain control over your thoughts and emotions. If you're the parent of a highly sensitive child, you've probably tried everything to help them manage their meltdowns. Breathing exercises, counting to ten, talking it out afterwards... but nothing seems to stick. It's an endless cycle of reactivity, and it's exhausting for everyone involved. But here's the thing: it's not your fault, and it's not your child's fault either. The real problem is that most therapists and parenting strategies focus on reactive care. They wait for a meltdown to happen, then try to slap a band-aid skill on it and hope for the best. But that's like trying to build a house without a foundation. It might look okay for a minute, but it won't stand up to the first big storm. If you're ready to build that foundation for your family, register for my latest training, The top 3 mistakes parents make in trying to end the daily meltdown cycle: megghanthompsoncoaching.com/3mistakes

Tracy and I met 9 years ago when she commented on the Facing Homelessness Facebook page. Her sharing was, you could say, a tour de force of emotional outpouring. Today I want to revisit that exchange because something important happened, something I believe is available to all of us and provides a path for moving forward when discussing difficult societal issues. Tracy's comments on the Facebook page were, for sure, ones of disgust and even anger towards those living homeless in her neighborhood. They were not unlike the polarized back and forth emotional statements we often see in the world of social media. However, Tracy did something remarkable after sharing her comment. She remained open and willing to engage. Daniel Fitzpatrick and I discuss "Restoring the Lord's Day" his new book, written in a way that is like a balm for the body and the soul. How Reclaiming Sunday will flow over and revive our Human Nature. We live in a culture and a society in need of healing, and our conversation turned to the sanctuary of Sundays, a day that seems to have lost its sacredness amidst our hectic schedules. As Daniel and I shared personal stories and theological insights, he illuminated the deep-seated yearnings for connection and the spiritual rejuvenation that can be found in the rhythms of the liturgy—reminding us all that the Lord's Day is more than obligation; it's a foundation for a fulfilled life. Daniel Fitzpatrick lives in New Orleans with his wife and four children. He is the author of the novels Only the Lover Sings and First Make Mad. His verse translation of the Divine Comedy, illustrated by Timothy Schmalz, was published in 2021 in honor of the seven hundredth anniversary of Dante's death. He is the editor of Joie de Vivre, a journal of art, culture, and letters for South Louisiana, and he teaches English at Jesuit High School of New Orleans.Link for Purchase: Restoring the Lord's Day Visit Daniel: Joie de Vivre or Instagram @fitz.d.writerFollow us on X: John Paul II Renewal @JP2RenewalCatch up with the latest on our website: jp2renew.orgSign up for our Newsletter!! When's the last time you took a minute to just breathe before you acted out? Whether it's acting out of anxiety, stress, anger, lust, excitement… did you bring it to the Lord first? We are so fast to just go and just do that we don't take the time to actually be with Jesus in what we are feeling. Let Him lead. Give Him your stress and anything else you could be grasping at. The Environmental Protection Agency is strengthening air quality standards on industries like factories, power plants, and vehicles that emit soot. Those fine particulate particles have been found to collect in people's lungs, cause respiratory problems, and have even been linked to cancer. Reset learns more about this change from Chicago Tribune reporter Michael Hawthorne, and how the change could improve our health from Brian Urbaszewski, Director of Environmental Health Programs at the Respiratory Health Association.
