Contents: Plot Cast Production International broadcast history Home media Awards Syndication International broadcast Spinoffs and related programming ALF (TV series) ALF is an American television show sitcom that aired on NBC from September 22, 1986, to March 24, 1990. The title character is ALF, (an acronym for "Alien Life Form" whose real name is Gordon Shumway) who crash-lands in the garage of the suburban middle-class Tanner family. The series stars Max Wright as father Willie Tanner, Anne Schedeen as mother Kate Tanner and Andrea Elson and Benji Gregory as their children, Lynn and Brian Tanner. ALF was performed by puppeteer Paul Fusco, who co-created the show with Tom Patchett. Produced by Alien Productions, ALF originally ran for four seasons and produced 99 episodes, including three one-hour episodes, ("Try to Remember", "ALF's Special Christmas" and "Tonight, Tonight") that were divided into two parts for syndication, totaling 102 episodes. The series proper concluded with an unresolved cliffhanger, but a later TV movie, Project: ALF, served as a series finale for the franchise. In August 2018, Warner Bros. Television announced development of an ALF reboot. These plans were cancelled in November of that year. In February 2022, it was announced that Shout! Factory had acquired distribution rights to the ALF titles, and would "develop new ALF-related content." Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss Joseph: King of Dreams. A direct-to-video prequel to The Prince of Egypt, Joseph: King of Dreams retells the story of Joseph from the book of Genesis.  Led by his oldest brother Judah (Mark Hamill), Joseph (Ben Affleck) is sold into slavery as a prank. After cleaning floors, suffering in a pit, and explaining dreams, Joseph rises to prominence. Can he forgive his brothers when they need his help the most? Although it looks similar to The Prince of Egypt, Joseph: King of Dreams is a much cheaper affair. Neither the music or the story is as captivating, although there are moments of wonder in the dream sequences. A more intimate story by its nature, this movie tries its best and ends up waffling around. Things get moving once Joseph is sold off as a slave in Egypt.  Mat and Thrasher feel Deadpool 2 was a very good sequel emboldened by its more complicated story, greater variety of characters, and light tone.  Mat enjoys 78/52 Hitchcock's Shower Scene, an in-depth scholarly documentary on the infamous shower scene from Psycho. He also has enjoyed the antics of master impressionist Sour Shoes on The Howard Stern Show. Thrasher did not like revisiting Antz, finding it so boring he had to shut it off. He continues his voyage into the work of puppeteer Paul Fusco with the TV special A Far Out 4th; depsite some neat puppets, it too was a letdown.  Ratings for Joseph: King of Dreams: Mat: Sequel No Thrasher: Sequel Yes Follow the show on Twitter @Sequelcast2 Like our Sequelcast 2 Facebook Page The theme song to the Sequelcast is written and performed by Marc with a C. http://searchforschlock.com/media/podcasts/sfs-039-ProjectAlf.mp3 Download MP3 In 1990, the producers of the declining hit puppet sitcom ALF were given a handshake promise of a season renewal. Season ending cliffhangers were all the rage right that second, so they ended the last episode with a tense standoff in which ALF's existence is discovered by the Alien Task Force, and the Tanners -- ALF's adopted human family -- seem powerless to intervene. And then the show was cancelled. ("Ha! I kill me!" -- anonymous network executive who surprise-cancelled ALF, probably.) For reasons that I'm going to assume are directly related to the runaway success of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, idiosyncratic ALF creator Paul Fusco got the opportunity to tie up the loose ends that had bedeviled the nation for six long years with a TV movie. There's still no movie about what happened to VICI and the Lawsons, though. Original post located at searchforschlock.com.
