South African cycling team, Qhubeka Assos, raced to its third stage victory in the 15th stage of the Giro d'Italia on Sunday. Belgian rider, Victor Campenaerts finished ahead of his Dutch breakaway companion Oscar Riesebeek of Alpecin-Fenix on the 147km stage which crossed over into neighbouring Slovenia. It was good news for the team after the uncertainty of ending last year's season with no sponsor for 2021. Team Qhubeka ASSOS races for something bigger than wins. Forhjulslir præsenteres i samarbejde med Oddset fra Danske Licens Spil +18. På denne etape af Forhjulslir tager vi sydpå, hvor vi skal høre fra fire talentfulde danske World Tour-ryttere. 22-årige Andreas Kron (Lotto Soudal) vandt mandag 1. etape af Catalonien Rundt og cementerede for alvor sit store talent på den øverste scene i cykelsporten. Hør Kron fortælle om sejren, tankerne bag den afgørende spurt og om at skulle rulle ud på 2. etapes enkeltstart iført løbets førertrøje. I lørdags kørte Mathias Norsgaard Jørgensen (Movistar) sit første monument i karrieren, Milano Sanremo. Det fejrede han med 270 km. i morgenudbruddet og +7.000 brændte kalorier. Hør Mathias fortælle om det vilde udbrudstogt i Milano Sanremo og meget meget mere. Emil Vinjebo (Team Qhubeka-Assos) kørte - ligesom Mathias - sit første monument i lørdagens Milano Sanremo. Vinjebo havde dog en helt anden rolle end Mathias, hvor han skulle opvarter sin kaptajn, Giacomo Nizzolo, så han sparede så mange kræfter som muligt. Hør hvordan det foregik i praksis samt om Vinjebos mange oplevelser på landevejen indtil nu i 2021. Mikkel Honoré (Deceuninck-QuickStep) fik en fremragende sæsondebut i de franske endagsløb Ardeche og Drome Classic. Nu har han så været på højdetræningslejr på Teide med Remco Evenepoel for at bygge formen op mod ardennerklassikerne, som er de store mål i den første del af sæsonen. Forhjulslir præsenteres i samarbejde med Oddset fra Danske Spil +18. Lasse Norman Hansen er nyeste dansker på World Touren. Han skifter til Team Qhubeka-ASSOS i 2021 og vender tilbage på cykelsportens øverste niveau efter fem år som Pro Conti/Tour-rytter. Som det første cykelmedie har Forhjulslir taget en eksklusiv snak med Lasse om det nye spændende skifte til World Touren. Udover at fortælle om, hvordan dialogen og kontrakten er kommet på plads, beskriver han også den svære tid efter sæsonen, hvor fremtiden som professionel cykelrytter så meget usikker ud. Han ser frem til at skulle blive en del af lead-out-toget til holdets sprinter, Giacomo Nizzolo. Og så glæder han sig bare til at være på World Touren igen, hvor han føler, at han har lidt 'unfinished business' efter to år på Garmin/Cannondale i 2014 og 2015. The future of NTT, formerly MTN-Qhubeka, looked to be in doubt until team principal Doug Ryder announced Assos have stepped up their involvement to keep the team at the races in 2021. Ryder tells Ian Parkinson how Africa's Team will keep working on getting homegrown riders from the continent into the top tier of the sport, and the big change in personnel for next season. Qhubeka means “move forward” – an apt slogan in these challenging times. Derek Bouchard-Hall, CEO of Assos, joins us to explain the renowned Swiss clothing company's decision to stick with Ryder and the team and put the Qhubeka name front and centre of the project. The Boyum Mobilization Program is our social responsibility initiative to, together with NTT Pro Cycling - Africa's first UCI World Tour Team racing to mobilize change in Africa -, help Qhubeka, a South African charity organization that donates bicycles through fundraising. NTT Pro Cycling was founded in 2007 and is the most purpose-oriented and technology driven team in professional cycling today. Their ambition is to continue riding at the highest level and motivate everyone across the African continent to ride a bike.

Stefan de Bod of Team Dimension Data joins the Tacx Turbo Talks ahead of the Tour de Pologne. He talks about the challenges obtaining the right visa to race in Europe (0:57), how it affects his chances of riding La Vuelta (2:12), his breakthrough 3rd place overall in Tour of Austria (3:59), his role at the Tour de Pologne (5:07), being new to riding at the World Tour level (6:10), his goals and plans for the rest of the season (8:54), representing the Qhubeka charity and how bicycles change life (10:02), and about his first bike and love for cycling (11:45). Stefan then reveals a secret skill in answering the Tacx Turbo Talks fan question of the week (13:11), before he answers a round of rapid fire questions (14:52).

JOHANNESBURG — For several years now, technology company Dimension Data has been linked to a charity organisation called Qhubeka. What's incredible about Qhubeka is that it does something that, from the outside, looks very simple: delivering bicycles to children and communities who need them most. What amazed me about this story is the massive difference these bicycles make to these people's lives. Amid a lack of transport, many people and children in far-flung areas of South Africa spend hours walking to get to schools and clinics. Having a bicycle can cut down this travel time by up to 75%, making a huge difference in people's lives. In this interview, Dimension Data's Albi van Zyl explains the importance of its partnership with Qhubeka, especially in light of a recent auction. - Gareth van Zyl

One of current cycling's most prominent voices and the Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka road captain, Bernhard Eisel, sits down and opens up in the first ever episode of the 'UnClipped' podcast. He talks candidly about his beginnings in the sport, the sacrifices he's made for others, the advent of "modern cycling" and reform proposal PLUS the impact that Sky's withdrawal after 2019 will have on the peloton. I spoke with Doug Ryder, 'Team Dimension Data' for Qhubeka Team Principal. Doug is a South African cycling icon and Olympian turned leader of the first ever African registered team in the Tour de France. The team also achieved it's bicycles change lives goal of raising funds to put 5000 students on bicycles.

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka once again thrilled their fans at the 2017 Tour de France as they continue their meteoric rise within the top division of world cycling. In a unique feature, the Laureus Power of Sport podcast brings you a special edition: the inside story of Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka at the 2017 Tour de France -  presented by Jean Smyth. Smyth also visits the Qhubeka assembly plant at Nederburg to find out just exactly how bicycles are literally changing lives. And, in a truly uplifting story, Nicholas Dlamini, a member of the Laureus YES! Programme, has now taken one step further to realise his dream of riding at the Tour de France after earning himself a contract on Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka’s World Tour team.

Simon, Shane and Nathan talk about the post-Tour blues, how they’re coping and how Zwift has leapt into the vacuum with a big announcement. But before they get to the launch of the Zwift Men’s Academy, the chaps discuss the arrival of Mark Cavendish on the platform. . . with a little help from Cav’s team-mate, Steve Cummings and his Directeur Sportif, Roger Hammond. The big news, though, is the Men’s Academy in partnership with Cav’s team, Dimension Data. Team owner Doug Ryder tells Simon why the decision to get involved was a no-brainer and describes his excitement at the benefit both to the team’s adopted charity, Qhubeka, and the potential to find a hidden gem of a new rider. Roger Hammond is equally excited and tells Simon how Zwift may help modernise recruitment to the pro peloton. There are important differences from the Women’s Academy scheme and the Zwiftcasters discuss what they are, why they might have been made and what is their likely impact. Zwiftcast resident Coach Kev Poulton discusses the theory behind his Four Week FTP Builder programme, a training plan that’s likely to prove very popular for Zwifters. Simon, Shane and Nathan then get excited about how training plans can be compared to moving piles of sand . . . . Steve Cummings gives Zwifters a little insight into how his rehab worked on Zwift and feels the same results can be achieved as Cav starts his long climb back to race pace using the platform to stay sharp. Finally, Simon pops into D C Rainmaker’s pain cave in Paris for a quick chat about what Eurobike may hold in store and why software challengers to Zwift may face an uphill battle.

Episode 47 features a long interview with Dimension Data's Lachlan Morton.  The Warren brothers spoke with the Boulder, Colorado resident as he was at the Denver airport getting ready to fly back to his home country, Australia.  Morton has high praise for his new team and the charity work it does through MTN Qhubeka in distributing bicycles to African children in need.  Lachlan spoke about his upcoming season and races as well as his and his brother Gus' latest Thereabouts film.  The latest edition takes the Morton brothers through Columbia and will be released any time now.  Randy and Dean speak about domestic team roster changes and BMC's new kit, before touching on a little cyclocross talk.  The Warren Cycling Podcast concludes with a little talk on staying healthy during the busy holiday time.

Randy and Dean Warren cover a multitude of cycling topics in episode 46 of the Warren Cycling Podcast.  The main feature is Dean's interview with Giant-Alpecin's Chad Haga.  Chad talked over lunch with Dean about his off season and upcoming 2017 campaign.  The Warren brothers appreciate the professional cyclists who have taken time to talk to the podcast and look forward to future interviews.  Dean and Randy talk about what's going on in cyclocross racing and touch on what to wear in cold temperatures.
