Steve Sallis, an author, teacher, and mindset coach, dives into the real qualities that make or break a leader. He doesn't hold back, calling out bad leaders as people who don't listen, lack vision, and often have a streak of narcissism. Steve opens up about his own experience being bullied at work by a narcissistic boss, something that hit him hard emotionally. That difficult chapter in his life led him to write a book for young professionals, helping them spot toxic leadership early on. His years working in tough London schools, where gang culture and knife crime were part of daily life, gave him a unique perspective on what it takes to lead well—starting with self-awareness and creating a supportive, safe environment for everyone.Over time, Steve developed the strategic mindset needed to lead effectively. For Steve, it's all about pairing confidence with competence—because while confidence gets you started, it's skill and awareness that make you truly successful. He's big on the idea that ego can wreck communication and relationships, and without self-awareness, even the most confident leader will struggle to inspire their team. What really fires Steve up is his belief in building strong, high-performing teams by recognising and playing to people's strengths. It's not about ego—it's about helping your team win. And for him, leadership is a journey of continuous growth, learning, and improvement.Take Your Business to New Heights: Book Your Spot at the UK's Biggest Business Event to hear from Global Thought Leaders and Industry Pioneers in 2025:https://thebizx.co.uk/Powered By ActionCOACH Business Coaching: The Help You Need to Grow Your Business: https://business.actioncoach.co.uk/ Hosted on Acast. Gonzaga Bulldogs forward Anton Watson is among the five Zags who declared early for the 2023 NBA draft, joining Drew Timme, Julian Strawther, Malachi Smith, and Steele Venters. We look at reasons why Watson should return to Spokane, even after Mark Few's team added Graham Ike, and why it makes sense for him to go through the draft process and hear from scouts and analysts. We then discuss the other four NBA draft entrants and give odds on whether they will be back in Spokane next season or if they will remain in the draft process and what that could look like for each of them.We close out the show discussing Hunter Sallis transferring to Wake Forest, where he will play under Steve Forbes. Forbes turned transfer guards Alondes Williams into the ACC Player of the year and Tyree Appleby into a All-ACC player, can he do the same with Sallis? The Five-Percent Nation, sometimes referred to as the Nation of Gods and Earths, is a Black nationalist movement influenced by Islam that was founded in 1964 in the Harlem section of the borough of Manhattan, New York City, by Allah the Father, who was previously known as Clarence 13 X and, before that, Clarence Edward Smith. The Nation of Gods and Earths teaches the belief that Black people are the original people of the planet Earth and are therefore the fathers ("Gods") and mothers ("Earths") of civilization. The goal of this episode is to help normalize and educate people about the philosophy and attitudes associated with the The Nation of Gods and Earths from an Afrocentric perspective. Join my guest, MacChisedec Sallis, we discuss the mythology, mathematics, and methodology behind The Five-Percent Nation. Our prayer is that this episode will help you find the god within yourself. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theafrocentricpodcast/message

Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Hunter Sallis joins Dominick Harris in entering the NCAA transfer portal, a concerning trend for Mark Few's program in Spokane. Is this the start of a mass exodus for the Zags? And is this the new normal, with the Bulldogs bringing in so many high profile (4 and 5 star) talents, and not always having room for all of them to play big minutes? Also, what does Sallis' departure mean for Gonzaga next season? Nolan Hickman and Dusty Stromer are now the top two guards returning, depending on whether Malachi Smith chooses to use his final year of eligibility. The Zags might have as many as five scholarships to fill this spring, so the transfer portal updates could be coming regularly for a while. Finally, we close out the show discussing potential landing spots for Sallis, including his hometown programs of Nebraska and Creighton, his friendship with Wisconsin's Chucky Hepburn, and whether he will pursue an opportunity to play point guard or shooting guard at his next stop.Link to new college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Hunter Sallis played just 17 minutes combined when Gonzaga faced San Francisco and Santa Clara last week, calling into question Mark Few's resistance to playing anyone other than his starting five. Sallis' defensive presence against Khalil Shabazz and Brandin Podziemski could have helped the Bulldogs down the stretch, and Few's insistence on overplaying his starters has hurt this team in March. The rest of the show is grading listener-submitted hot takes, with discussion about Drew Timme's NPOY candidacy, Dom Harris' future, and Rasir Bolton's role as this team's third (or second) leading scorer.Link to new college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbDanny Evans GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-coach-danny-evans-his-childrenJeremy Eaton GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/r8yj3-jeremys-cancer-fundhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. The Gonzaga Bulldogs secured their record-breaking 72nd consecutive home victory on Tuesday against the Montana Grizzlies, behind 32 points from Drew Timme and a 15 point, 10 rebound double-double from Julian Strawther.Mark Few's club struggled early, going down 20-10 before a 26-8 run late in the first half. We discuss the frustration of these slow starts this season, and also look at the shooting guard competition between Rasir Bolton, Malachi Smith, and Hunter Sallis.Sallis is the best defender, while Smith has been the best offensive player - yet Bolton remains the starter. Should that change? Would a change just disrupt Gonzaga's offensive and defensive flow? Is a players statistical performance the only thing to consider when evaluating a lineup change?Link to new college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbDanny Evans GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-coach-danny-evans-his-childrenJeremy Eaton GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/r8yj3-jeremys-cancer-fundhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. The Gonzaga Bulldogs powered through a slow start to down the Northern Illinois Huskies, 88-67, behind 26 points from Drew Timme, a career night from Ben Gregg, and an outstanding all-around performance from Hunter Sallis.Sallis had another productive night, while Malachi Smith looked like Gonzaga's best offensive guard. It prompts the big question - should Gonzaga change up the starting lineup? Julian Strawther had just four points in 17 minutes, while Rasir Bolton was 1-7 from the field. Is it time to make a move?We also look at Ben Gregg's monster night, where he scored 18 points off the bench. Efton Reid had a nice showing as well, and we got a glimpse of Dominick Harris in the closing minutes. We close the show looking at a few Zags in the NBA, including a career-season from Zach Collins and Corey Kispert, and injury to Rui Hachimura, and a nice showing from Kelly Olynyk on the Utah Jazz.Link to new college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbDanny Evans GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-coach-danny-evans-his-childrenJeremy Eaton GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/r8yj3-jeremys-cancer-fundhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
