In this Kitchen Side episode of The Long Game Podcast, the Omniscient Digital team explores the tension between moving fast and making smart decisions. Speed is often praised in startups and growth environments, but it can lead to thrashing, burnout, and wasted effort when misapplied. Through reflections on agency work, in-house roles, and working with clients, they examine how to balance urgency with focus, and how strategic patience—paired with tactical speed—can create real momentum. They also share real-world SEO and AI examples of teams pivoting too fast, chasing trends, and missing out on compounding gains due to lack of prioritization, alignment, or decisiveness.Key TakeawaysSpeed ≠ Thrashing: Speed is powerful—but not when it means jumping between tactics without a long-term direction.Experimentation Requires Discipline: The best teams move quickly within a defined portfolio of experiments, not across constant strategic shifts.AI and SEO Demand New Timelines: Understanding how long it takes to see results from AI Overviews or SEO changes is critical for smart investment.Strategic Decisions Need Time: Channel or strategy-level shifts should have space to breathe—tactical pivots can happen faster.Avoid Becoming the Bottleneck: Leadership speed often comes down to fast approvals, trust, and timely delegation.Portfolio Thinking Beats All-In Bets: High-performing orgs allocate some resources to R&D and experimentation while maintaining core execution.Alignment Enables Flow: Teams that communicate clearly and early across departments unlock faster execution and reduce friction.Show LinksConnect with David Khim on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Alex Birkett on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Allie Decker on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Omniscient Digital on LinkedIn or TwitterWhat is Kitchen Side? One big benefit of running an agency or working at one is you get to see the “kitchen side” of many different businesses; their revenue, their operations, their automations, and their culture. You understand how things look from the inside and how that differs from the outside. You understand how the sausage is made. "Avoid Becoming an Unintentional Pharisee" JESUS was genius in His teaching! Matthew 7:28-29 describes how his hearers experienced His teaching: “And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching them as one who had authority…” As JESUS' teaching ministry expanded, He made the decision to frequently use parables as a primary teaching method as Mark 4:1-2 tells us: “AGAIN JESUS began to teach beside the lake. And a very great crowd gathered about Him…And He taught them many things in parables…” His parables focused on the Kingdom of GOD and often employed a very UNEXPECTED twist to awaken the hearts and minds of His hearers so they would draw nearer to Him and His kingdom work. This series of messages is entitled UNEXPECTED. We'll explore many of the parables JESUS taught. Why don't you plan now to join us on Sundays at one of our services at 9:30 or 11AM, or in our livestream service at 11AM on riverbluff.live for each message in this series? I am praying that something UNEXPECTED will happen in our lives and in our church that will bring much glory to GOD and release even more of His kingdom goodness on us, and through us, into our city. In the latest episode of the Teka podcast, my guest is Mark Bauerlein. We discuss some interesting questions: Have we really become more intelligent with the rapid advances in communication technology? What to make of the shift that sophisticated people in the past were often depicted holding a book in their hand, whereas today they are more likely to be holding a smartphone? To what extent are schools and the older generations responsible for today's children being called the 'dumbest generation'? And last but not least, what is our message to today's young people? In this episode, the hosts dive deep into the evolving world of note investing, discussing the shift toward wrap notes, hard money, and the increased presence of note brokers. With their guest Nate Hair out due to a family emergency, they pivot to a crucial discussion on how to broker notes the right way, including what not to do—like blasting borrower data or skipping due diligence. They emphasize the importance of adding value when brokering, building relationships, understanding the asset, and why NDAs and spreadsheets matter. Common pitfalls like "joker brokering" and sending out unvetted bulk lists are discussed, along with how to vet real buyers and sellers.Later in the episode, they tackle the myth of buying notes directly from banks, explaining why this rarely works for individual investors. Instead, they advocate for smarter strategies like direct mail and partial note buying for beginners with limited capital. Finally, they tease upcoming episodes, including hypothecations and trust structures, and encourage participation in the upcoming Diversified Mortgage Expo (DME).[00:00:00] Show Intro and Guest Update [00:01:12] Shift in Note Investing Trends [00:02:04] Upcoming Market Crash Predictions [00:02:33] Importance of Networking in Notes [00:03:18] Who We Are as Note Investors [00:04:08] Diversified Mortgage Expo Details [00:05:26] Why You Should Attend DME [00:06:01] Sit with Someone New at Events [00:07:02] Why NDAs Matter in Note Investing [00:08:22] How to Become a Note Broker [00:09:42] Mistakes Brokers Make with Notes [00:11:26] Key Info to Include in Listings [00:12:37] Vetting Real Note Buyers [00:13:31] Avoid Becoming a Joker Broker [00:14:22] How to Add Value as a Broker [00:15:52] Real-Life Note Brokering Examples [00:23:00] Why Partials Are Great for Starters [00:27:04] Can You Buy Notes from Banks? Ever felt hangry? Like, really, really hangry? So hangry that you might just turn into a supernatural, flesh-craving monster? Well, you're in luck because this week, we're diving headfirst into the legend of the Wendigo—a creature that takes "snacking" to a terrifying new level. From its origins in Algonquian folklore to modern-day sightings (and possibly a Wendigo diet plan we can't endorse), we're breaking down what makes this beast so chilling. Is it a warning about greed and gluttony? A cautionary tale for winter survivalists? Or just an ancient way of saying, "Dude, don't eat your friends"? Zack in Defiance, Ohio faces a unique challenge that may sound specific at first but is more common than you think: he can only close a deal if his customer closes a deal of their own first. In other words, they must “sell” a project to their own clients before Zack's solution can come into play. This scenario appears in industries like construction, engineering, software licensing, and more. The conversation with Zack revealed practical strategies you can use to overcome these hurdles and keep your own pipeline healthy. Welcome to another Ask Jeb segment on the Sales Gravy Podcast! I'm Jeb Blount—bestselling author of Fanatical Prospecting, Objections, Sales EQ, and INKED. In each of these special episodes, we shine a spotlight on your questions, challenges, and roadblocks—offering real-world advice from sales pros who are in the trenches every single day. 1. Recognize the Real-World Obstacles Whether your customer has to bid on government contracts, secure large client projects, or get internal buy-in from multiple stakeholders, their success dictates your sale. While it's easy to be frustrated by this extra layer, it's crucial to acknowledge a few realities: Your Customer's Motivation: They're laser-focused on winning their own deal. Your product or service is secondary—important, but not top of mind until they're assured of a win. Lead Time: Deals can stretch out because you're waiting on an entire chain of approvals or external decisions. Competition: If your customers finally land the big deal, they might still shop around to find the best supplier, leaving you in a second round of competition. Understanding these pressures helps you empathize with your buyer. It also positions you to offer support in ways that make them want to stick with you—rather than jumping to a competitor at the eleventh hour. 2. Be a Genuine Partner, Not a Peddler It's tempting to keep nudging your buyers with hard-closing tactics, but that rarely works when they haven't secured their own contract. Instead, pivot to a mindset of partnership: Build Real Relationships Invest time getting to know your buyer on a personal level. Talk about local sports teams, industry news, or shared hobbies. Real rapport fosters loyalty. When your customer finally wins their deal, they'll feel comfortable turning to a friend—you—for the solution they need. Offer Strategic Expertise If your offering requires complex configurations or specialized knowledge, step in as a consultant. For instance, share best practices on how to optimize a design, or explain how to streamline a process. By helping them present stronger bids or more compelling proposals, you become integral to their success. Stay Responsive If they're scrambling to nail down specifics for a bid, be the easiest person on their call list. Quick turnaround times and thorough answers showcase that you're a reliable partner. Nobody wants a vendor who goes dark when the pressure is on. 3. Avoid Becoming a “Quote Factory” One of the biggest pitfalls in this scenario is turning into a “quote factory” that does piles of work for prospects who never buy. While it's true you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, you also waste valuable hours if you keep shooting at targets that never pan out. Track Buying History Look at your records: are there customers or accounts for which you consistently provide proposals and never see a sale? Identify these patterns. Have Candid Conversations Let them know your time and expertise aren't free. You're happy to help, but if they continually choose other suppliers or undercut your prices, you need to reevaluate the partnership. Sometimes, a direct discussion is enough to shift their approach and earn you real business. If not, you can focus on more promising leads. Prioritize Strategic Deals If you're caught up producing endless quotes for “long-shot” clients,

KIB 449 – How to Avoid Becoming an Agent in Babylon's Matrix Kingdom Intelligence Briefing There are many that teach that once you are saved, the enemy cannot touch you. However, the New Testament has warnings that contradict our modern Laodicean theology. From Peter's warning that we are to be vigilant and sober to Paul's admonishment that the enemy can take us captive to do his will (2 Tim. 2:20-26) are essential in understanding the level of spiritual warfare that believers are experiencing today. Believers must have a firm foundation in the Word of God and actively engage in sanctification to remain free of the enemy's machinations in the last days. Hypocrisy creates a disparity between professed beliefs and actual conduct. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar dive into this topic and encourage listeners in ways to avoid hypocrisy in their lives. Ray shares how his evangelistic fervor is fueled by a genuine desire to adhere to the standards set forth by God for Christians to share the gospel boldly and authentically. Yet hypocrisy remains a persistent struggle within the Christian community, from the time of Jesus to present day.Central to the issue of hypocrisy among Christians is the existence of a prescribed moral standard, derived from Jesus' teachings and scriptures. When Christians inevitably fall short of these standards the response should ideally be one of humility and repentance, seeking forgiveness from those affected by their actions. However, hypocrisy often manifests in the form of minimizing one's own faults or even elevating oneself above others, rather than acknowledging and addressing one's own shortcomings. The detrimental impact of hypocrisy extends beyond individual behavior, permeating familial and societal dynamics as well. Children are particularly perceptive to inconsistencies between what their parents profess and how they actually behave. Such incongruences can lead to confusion and disillusionment, undermining the moral upbringing within the household. The story of Saul, who disobeyed God's command by keeping spoils intended for destruction, serves as a cautionary tale against the dangers of rationalizing moral lapses. Similarly, the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, a trusted disciple, highlights the deceptive nature of hypocrisy and its potential to betray even the closest relationships.Despite the prevalence of hypocrisy, believers find solace in the knowledge that God discerns the true intentions and motivations of the heart. This awareness is a reminder of the importance of genuine repentance and accountability. Jesus Himself vehemently condemned the hypocrisy of the Pharisees, emphasizing the need for alignment between professed beliefs and actual conduct.Ultimately, combating hypocrisy requires introspection, accountability, and a commitment to spiritual growth. Cultivating a devotional life centered on prayer and scripture meditation serves as a powerful antidote to hypocrisy, fostering a deeper connection with God and a heightened awareness of one's own moral shortcomings. By embracing humility, authenticity, and a genuine desire to live according to God's standards, believers can strive to overcome hypocrisy and cultivate a life of integrity and moral consistency.Where the hosts introduce the podcast giveaway with instructions where and how to participate. Over the course of your life, would you prefer to feel special or happy? If you can only choose one in your life, which one would you choose and feel like you made the most of it? That's the topic for our roundtable discussion today. We're joined by our very special guest Dana Anspach, CFP®, RMA®, Kolbe Certified™ Consultant, and Founder & CEO of Sensible Money, LLC. She's joined by our in-house sourpuss OG and Len Penzo, creator of the award-winning blog lenpenzo.com. Our panel discusses whether achieving "happy" or "special" is necessarily an either/or decision, or if there's some middle ground between the two. Joe goes on to clarify that the author's definition of "special" centers around addiction to professional success: addicted to being hardworking, successful, and wealthy. We tackle why many success-focused people are actually "miserably rich." Do you have to sacrifice your happiness in order to achieve professional success, or is there a way to have the best of both worlds? In the second half of the discussion, sponsored by DepositAccounts.com, we dive into how to overcome workaholism, so you avoid being miserable and wealthy. Is shedding materialism in favor of simplicity the secret to maintaining a healthy balance between success and happiness? Stay tuned for Doug's amazing big-money question. Will Dana propel Paula into a 3-way tie for first place or will OG or Len take sole possession of the lead?
