We all have a need to be seen, known, and loved. But it's not always easy, as women, to feel that way in our broken world. Difficult circumstances and painful experiences can even leave us questioning how God feels about us. But when we look in the Bible, we see that God has seen, known, and loved His daughters, since the beginning of creation. In today's episode, we'll share some examples of women in the Bible and how God went out of His way to love, honor, and restore their equal value to men, in a culture that treated them like second-class citizens. As we dive into scripture, you'll be reminded of your true and unshakable worth, as fellow image-bearers of God and co-heirs with Christ. Hosted by Summer Shore and Melissa Campbell. We live in a world where we are addicted to hurry and busyness. This results in a culture that leads to burnout, weariness, and being constantly exhausted…even after a vacation! We could all use the rhythms of rest and sabbath to help us create the space to hear from the Lord and bask in His presence. There is a beauty to rest that helps us find balance in our busy world. In this episode, we'll talk with one of our Revive Conference breakout speakers, Mary Adele Wilcox, to discover the antidote to weariness and busyness and how we can draw near to God through the spiritual rhythms of rest and sabbath. About Mary Adele Wilcox: Mary-Adele grew up as a pastor's kid in Corvallis and Sherwood. Following in her mother's footsteps, Mary-Adele became a teacher and currently works as a 2nd-grade teacher in the school district that she attended as a child. She has served at Northwest Christian Church in worship ministry and children's ministry for several years. Mary-Adele currently lives in Newberg with her husband, Kieric, and their spunky, troublesome little corgi, Archibald, and is expecting her first child in July. So exciting!! For a lot of us, reading the Bible can often feel like one more thing in a long list of things that we are “supposed to do as good Christians”. But spending time in God's Word can be so much more than an item on a checklist. Because on every page, God's unchanging and loving character is revealed. Through God's Word, we can begin to see and experience His radical love for us as we learn His heart and see it in action. In this episode, we'll discuss how studying the Bible can give us a deeper understanding of what God is like, and help us to connect with Him personally, by looking at the life of Jesus. We'll give you some good places to start reading the Bible, as well as some practical Bible study resources, whether you're diving into God's Word for the first time, or trying to find your Bible study groove again. From beginning to end, the Bible is the story of God's loving pursuit of His people. It is our prayer that by the end of this episode, you'll be inspired to curl up with your Bible, and journey deeper into your relationship with the God who loves you. What words come to mind when you are asked to describe yourself? How we see ourselves really matters. Our mind is powerful and what we think about ourselves and about God determines so much of how we walk this life--the decisions we make and the way we interact with others. We can turn to God for the truth of our identity because He is the one who knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows us this well because He is the one who created us and knew us before time began. What we think of when we think of God is one of the most important things about us. Our view of God and his relationship with us, especially how he deals with us when we stumble and fail, is important to us growing in our faith. The way we follow Jesus, how we read the Bible, how we live out our faith, how we see ourselves, all revolve around and are influenced by how we see God. Sometimes we struggle with coming to God in prayer because we are afraid of God's reaction. In this episode, we will talk about some common misconceptions we have when we think of God that keep us from approaching Him in confidence and how we can learn to embrace His grace. Good friendships are a gift from God that can shape us to be more like Him. They are an avenue for us to experience His love and faithfulness. Nowadays cultivating deep and meaningful friendships can sometimes be difficult. It takes a whole lot of intentionality with a dash of Holy Spirit-fueled bravery. In this episode, we will discuss a few ways you can cultivate deep, God-centered friendships in a world where many friendships are mile-wide and puddle-deep. Being in community doesn't just benefit us--it has an eternal impact in the Kingdom of God! You play a role in the work that God is doing in the world. We have a natural tendency to think of our roles in the world as individual ones. We navigate our daily lives relatively independently of one another. We consult our individual calendars to make plans and don't think much about what the neighbors are up to unless their dog is barking non-stop early on a Saturday morning! ;-) While it's a totally normal rhythm to life, God also calls us to a life lived in community. In this episode, we discuss how we can begin to shift our perspective from our limited individual perspective to a fuller, eternal perspective of what God is doing not just through us in our own lives, but through us in community. Do you have some new pandemic habits that have stuck even after you may no longer “need” them? Coming out of the pandemic, it seems we are all learning how to re-engage in life and in community after two long years of isolation and a daily rhythm that was anything but normal. After having to be separated from others and be careful about keeping our distance, it is understandable that we may be hesitant to jump back in. For some people, there is a real need to continue to be cautious in order to keep their loved ones who are vulnerable safe. But the truth for most of us is that we have simply lost the habits we once had, like getting together with family and friends, volunteering at our kids' school, or going to church in person. Now as we are coming out of the pandemic, we need to recognize that some of the new ways of living that were once a necessity, may now no longer be helping us but rather hindering us. Join us as we discuss how some of our “new normals” might be keeping us from the life in community that God wants for us. My guest this week on the Bringing Her Hope podcast is Hope 1079's newest team member and can be heard on weekday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM PST, Summer Shore. After enduring two miscarriages and walking with a family friend through the tragic loss of their 2-year-old child, something in Summer broke and she couldn't pray anymore. Her faith had been stretched so far that she feared her faith and heart might never recover. But God was tender and patient with her in her grief and worked tirelessly to heal her fragile heart and redeem her pain for a purpose. We are so excited to bring you this newest episode, featuring one of our new favorite authors, Denisse Copeland! Denisse was born and raised by a single mother in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Her upbringing offered little stability, and Denisse soon found herself on a seemingly endless quest to find love and acceptance. It wasn't until Jesus shook her world that she truly found what she was looking for. Now a mother of three living in Oklahoma City, Denisse works alongside her husband, Rashawn Copeland, as an online minister and evangelist. Their ministry reaches more than 6 million people every year. Denisse just released her first book, “Set Apart: Stop Comparing, Own Your Giftedness and Rest in Jesus”. By unpacking the biblical story of Mary and Martha, as well as her own story of recognizing her unique giftedness, Denisse Copeland shows you how to embrace your identity as a woman set apart to be exactly who God created you to be, whether that is a C-suite executive or a stay-at-home mom. Sometimes we find ourselves in social situations that make our insecurity come out in full force. Especially now after we've been so isolated for the last year, it can be hard to navigate social situations again. The problem with insecurity is that it can feel like a prison with no way out–it can make us feel hopeless. When we are feeling insecure, our focus turns inward and we can only see our weaknesses, our doubts, our fears and other's opinions. We forget the ways that we are gifted and uniquely created to make an impact in each situation. In this episode, we will discuss how we can begin to navigate social life again and find freedom from insecurity. We were honored to have Amanda Swick as one of our breakout speakers at our last Revive Conference, where she spoke on how to Revive Your Prayer Life. Amanda is married to Jason Swick and is a homeschooling mother to 3 handsome boys. They live in Prineville, Oregon and have been ministering with the Prineville Church of Christ for the past two years. Before that they spent 10 years as college ministers at Oregon State University. During those years, as she dealt with the ups and downs of campus ministry, caring for a sick child, and the general chaos of life, Amanda found her passion for prayer. Through prayer, God sustained her and brought peace that was beyond understanding (Phil 4:7). Now she is on a mission to share the joys of prayer with others. Amanda shares some encouraging and practical wisdom on how to revive your prayer life, or get one started for the first time. Where do we find our self-worth? We often allow a relationship, what others think of us, or our ability to juggle all the things to determine our self-worth. When we place our identity in the the wrong places instead of in Christ, it can change how we see ourselves and where we find our self-worth. God sees us and esteems us! We are esteemed by God so much that He chose to sacrifice and Jesus chose to suffer. He took on our sin and paid the price for it. It is the most expensive ransom ever paid, and it begs the question, “Why would he do that for me?” In this episode, we will discuss: Where we often put our self-worth Why is it difficult to feel worthy of Jesus’ sacrifice Why Jesus chose to sacrifice for us How do we live into the reality of our worth Hosted by Summer Shore and Melissa Campbell Music by Nathaniel Rodrigues Resources: Article: You Are Worth It www.experiencerevival.com Key Scriptures: Romans 5:8, Romans 8:31-39

Nowadays we have a lot of pressure from the world around us to do all the things and do them perfectly; to be everything to everyone. The problem with trying to live up to this image or expectation is that we can end up feeling a sense of failure, that we are not enough, empty, exhausted, unlovely, and ever-striving but never arriving. What if we got off the hamster wheel of chasing our self-worth and identity from our jobs, roles and the approval of others? What if we first found confidence from knowing who we were made to be and owning that. What if we found our security from knowing that what defines us is who God says we are? In this episode, we will discuss: Where the source of our identity should be. What God say about who we are. How shame can redefine our identity by what we do or don’t do. How we can break free from seeing ourselves through the lens of shame. Ways we can find balance with so many mixed messages coming at us about who we should be and what we should be doing.
