Olly Stone grew up in Europe obsessing over motocross mechanics — not riding, wrenching. He taught himself on two-strokes, polished his spokes at 3am watching GPs from Japan and Australia, and eventually earned his way to America. Pro Circuit. Justin Barcia. Austin Faulkner. Then team principal of the Troy Lee Designs GasGas program — until KTM pulled the budget overnight and ten years of work disappeared with a phone call. Now he's back. New team. New facility. And it's moving faster than even he expected. In Chapter 402, Olly breaks down what it actually takes to survive as a European mechanic in American moto, what made Mitch Payton's Pro Circuit the standard for everyone else, the brutal reality of how factory programs end, and the new program he's building from scratch — including a shop in Corona and a riding facility in Florida that's already turning heads.Enjoy Chapter 402 — like, subscribe, and drop a comment below.IN THIS CHAPTERWrenching at Pro Circuit under Mitch PaytonWorking with Justin Barcia and Austin FaulknerTroy Lee Designs GasGas team principal — and how KTM ended itHaiden Deegan vs Austin Forkner at the test trackBuilding a new Supercross team from the ground up in 202600:00:00 Intro00:02:35 Welcome Olly Stone00:03:31 How Olly Found a Career in Motocross00:18:26 Cash App Ad00:20:04 The English Built Dirt Bike00:32:04 MXGP has no rules00:33:06 Ducati Doesn't get enough Credit00:37:58 Betting Everything on MXGP00:53:40 The Grind of MXGP01:03:38 The Work Culture at Pro Circuit01:10:01 SOTA Fuel Ad01:10:40 Olly's first job at Pro Circuit01:17:14:23 Early Days Working for Pro Circuit Kawasaki01:26:43 Mitch Paytons Drive to Win01:31:34 Cooper Webb VS Tyler Bowers01:33:32 Working for Prime Austin Forkner01:43:55 Austin Forkner was faster than Ricky Carmichael01:48:58 Deegan Couldn't beat Austin Forkner01:50:57 Motosport Ad01:52:47 What was Austin Forkner Missing?02:00:02 Why Everyone Love's Dean Wilson02:02:17 Why Olly Left Pro Circuit Kawasaki02:05:12 Justin Barcia Destroy's Equipment!02:09:35 Why Racers love Broken in Bikes02:10:46 Becoming Crew Chef of Troy Lee Designs GasGas02:16:08 Forced to Leave Troy Lee Designs GasGas02:27:32 Why MX6 Racing is so successful02:29:35 MX6 Racing's Breakout Supercross Season02:37:43 Fist Handwear Ad02:39:08 Privateer Riders on a "Factory" Program02:43:48 Building a Top 5 Supercross Team02:51:41 Buying Justin Barcia's Property02:54:18 The Cost of Running a Supercross Team03:09:24 From Factory to Privateer03:14:03 Closing

We chat about all of that and more on this week's Kickstart Podcast by Maxxis!

Presented by Maxxis Let's be real here...did we have our first snoozer of a race in 2026? Sure, in comparison to the edge-of-your-seat races of the parst few weekends, the runaway performances turned in by Haiden Deegan in the 250 Western Division main and Hunter Lawrence in the 450 main on Empower Field inside Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado, were quite boring. Still, the stage is set for two great races this weekend in Salt Lake City, where the 450 title will come down to a winner-take-all affair between Ken Roczen and Hunter Lawrence, and Haiden Deegan will try to destroy the competition in what will be his last 250 Supercross. Who do you have?
Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto sit down to take a look at Mile High this past weekend, including Hunter Lawrence taking back momentum, Ken Roczen knowing what he had, Jorge Prado at it again, a rule that needs changing, Eli Tomac is back, Dylan Ferrandis hits two guys in two turns, Haiden Deegan stacking records and dollars, and how each rider in the 450 title race should handle it in Salt Lake. In this Race Tech Service Center Highlight we talk to the owner of B99 Suspension, Justin Baker. Justin raced some Supercross in 2010 and 2014, but knew professional racing was not going to be his career path. Justin had previously raced for Rob Brown who is now the Research and Development Manager at Race Tech, so he went to California and took their suspension and engine seminars and soaked up as much knowledge as possible. He eventually opened his own shop, B99 Suspension, and now supports many of the top amateurs in the country, including his son, Jax Baker and two-time Loretta's champ, Wyatt Tedesco.
This week the MotoXpod features Partzilla PRMX Kawasaki's Kyle Chisholm who made his Supercross return in Philadelphia to talk about testing for Factory Kawi, being back at the races, and what's next. Presented by Maxxis The final Triple Crown of the series went down in Cleveland, Ohio, last weekend, and the 450 championship was literally blown wide open. With only three rounds left, we have the tightest premier class championship battle in the history of the sport, with Hunter Lawrence and Ken Roczen separated by only a single point. Tragically, Eli Tomac's championship hopes came to an end with a crash in the whoops during the first qualifying session, as he banged up his hip badly enough that he was unable to carry on. Our Editor at Large, Kellen Brauer, joins us on today's Kickstart Podcast to add extra insight to this week's show! Enjoy!

Presented by Maxxis Round 13 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship in Nashville, Tennessee, saw the 450-class championship go from the tightest ever at this point of the season, with three racers within five points, to Hunter Lawrence enjoying 10- and 15-point leads over rivals Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac. The hard-packed dirt inside Nissan Stadium posed a problem for many racers, and while Lawrence rode to victory and sole possession of the series points lead, Roczen and Tomac both hit the ground and finished third and 12th, respectively. We cover all of this and more on this week's Maxxis Kickstart Podcast.

Presented by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co. Round 11 of the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross Championship went off in Detroit, Michigan's Ford Field last weekend, and - once again - the racing was insane! Dare we say it, sometimes at this point in the series, the action has tapered off in the past and become almost predictable. Not this year! Though Honda HRC Progressive's Hunter Lawrence came in with a solid points lead and three wins in the last four races, a crash in the whoops and damage suffered to his front brake blew the championship wide open again as Eli Tomac reclaimed the red plate with a fifth-place finish. We've got a seven-race series on our hands, folks! In the 250 Eastern Division class, Cole Davies put an exclamation point on the dominance that he's enjoyed in the class, coming from nearly mid-pack to win by over 10 seconds. The New Zealander was upset with his performance at the first East vs. West Shootout of the year a couple of weeks ago, and he's certainly looking forward to a rematch with his teammate Haiden Deegan next weekend in St. Louis. We cover these points and a lot more, in this week's Kickstart Podcast!
Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto are revved up for the latest round of Supercross coming out of the Motor City. The champions discuss the Whoops, why they were so difficult, and why riders are not better at them, Hunter Lawrence's tough night and whether he or Eli Tomac, after a lackluster performance, are on the Guts Hot Seat. They also dive into Ken Roczen's championship hopes, whether the AMA should have penalized Cooper Webb, the mindset of both Chase Sexton and Malcolm Stewart, Cole Davies being a cut above the rest, what was the save of the night, and whether or not injuries should be public thanks to the world of sports betting. Since Jett Lawrence was last on the podcast four years ago, everything has changed, he went from dominating the 250 class to completely taking over the 450 division, winning every championship he's been healthy for, including an undefeated 450 Pro Motocross rookie season, a dominant Supercross season, multiple SuperMotocross World Championships, and another outdoor title, at this point Jett isn't questioning it anymore, he knows he's the best, and this is a side of him we haven't seen before, confident, fired up, and hungry to stack even more championships, with another perfect season in his sights.#GypsyTales #JettLawrence #Supercross #Motocross #GOAT #HunterLawrence #SuperMotocross #PodcastIn this chapter we talk
Presented by Maxxis Tires and Outhouse Coffee Co. Round 10 of the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross Championship visited Birmingham, Alabama, last weekend, and the action in both classes was spectacular! In the 250 class, we saw the first East vs. West Showdown of the year and were treated to some great racing as Haiden Deegan put on a riding clinic and came from 10th to first, passing all of the top riders from both coasts en route to the win. Or so we thought... Deegan was penalized by the AMA for clipping a track marker entering a split lane and was stripped of his win and docked to second. This gave his teammate Cole Davies the win, and we go over this extensively on the show. Hunter Lawrence was perfect in the 450 class and turned in a runaway performance over Ken Roczen and title rival Eli Tomac, who had one of the wildest nights in recent memory...
Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto are back from vacation to breakdown Birmingham. From the controversial penalty to Haiden Deegan, Hunter Lawrence's impressive performance, Eli Tomac's compelling night, Ken Roczen's speed, Cole Davies plans, and fixing the AMA and Privateer situations, the legends discuss it all in the lastest edition.
