From established working arts professionals and arts educators to emerging artists and community impact artists, each year's honorees are truly "visionary". This years award ceremony happens Monday, April 29, 2024 6:00 - 8:00 PM at The Sun Theater, 3625 Grandel Square St. Louis, MO 63108.

HASSIE DAVIS, ANDREA HUGHES, DIANNE ISBELL, MEE JEY, EMILY RAUH PULITZER, PAM TRAPP Hassie Davis, this year's recipient of the Outstanding Teaching Artist is a locally and nationally known performing and teaching artist based in the St. Louis Metro area. As a performer, she has worked with various theater companies around the country, most notably with TheaterWorks/USA performing at the Kennedy Center. As an arts educator, she has utilized her skills in Arts Integration with many arts education programs such as Muny 1st Stage, Gitana Theater, The Canvas Project, and is a member of the Wolf Trap International Arts Integration program. In addition, she is a 2016 Fellow of the Regional Arts Commission Community Arts Training Program. She helped to create and has served for the last  21 years as Program Coordinator for CLUB CHIPS. CHIPS Health and  Wellness Center's innovative teen leadership program utilizes the arts to guide teens in acquiring valuable knowledge about their mental and physical health in order to educate and empower themselves and their peers.

In 2019, the inaugural Visionary Honours, founded by Thriller Live creator Adrian Grant, celebrated work that inspired social change in or debate about equality, diversity, inclusion, mental health, anti-social behaviour or environmental change. For its second year, there will be a Visionary Awards ceremony in March and ten bursaries of up to £5,000 each for young creative artists. This year’s panel includes the writer of hit West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Tom MacRae, who spoke to us about the awards and his involvement, as well as about how Jamie, soon to go on a world tour and be released as a film starring Richard E Grant, initially came about. The Visionary Honours 2020 recipients will be announced on 18 March, with the shortlist to be announced on 4 February.

Photographer Kat Reynolds is having a moment. In the past few months, Reynolds has exhibited at five St. Louis venues. She was named this year’s Emerging Artist by the local Visionary Awards, a prize she’ll accept April 24 at the Sun Theater in Grand Center. She’s also wrapping up a residency program at Paul Artspace, north of Florissant. Her work primarily features young people of color, friends, people she encounters on the street, or people she finds through social media. Reynolds works all these activities around a full-time customer relations job.
