In 2010, Sunrise graced the world with the best Gundam film ever made: Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie -A Wakening of the Trailblazer-. After five years of covering Gundam, we finally review this masterpiece to give it the credit it so rightfully deserves. So buckle up and join us aboard the Ptolemaios for the last time as Allelujah fights Waymo; zombie Ribbons takes a WWE chair shot; Setsuna grabs the Metal Cap and joins the Borg; and the T-1000 gets renamed the Extraterrestrial Living Metal Shapshifters. Someone should really check on the Azadistanis... Happy AFD, listeners!
You might have been thinking, "Wow, did Gundam 00 really kill Brian and Isaac?" The answer is no. We would never relent to our nemesis! On this episode, we focus all our newtype potential into finishing the fight against the Innovade menace in Gundam 00 Season 2! This show raises the stakes in the back half as Ribbons abuses his brain WiFi powers; Graham becomes Mr. Weeaboo; Lyle replaces Neil even though cyborg-Neil is a way better idea; Louise and Saji forget how to use a phone; Sumeragi hooks up with Allelujah (or was it Hallelujah?); and Setsuna evolves into an Innovator because reasons. Plus, we discuss Gundam the Musical, the prospect of livestreaming nude limbo, and even make a Beerfest reference.
Christ is risen! Allelujah! Join us as we celebrate the sacrifice of Jesus and rejoice as we remember His resurrection! Today we continue our study of "The Lord's Prayer" and learn about the theme of "Forgiveness."

SynopsisToday we note the birth and death anniversaries of two American composers of the 20th century. On today's date in 1915, American composer David Diamond was born in Rochester, New York. In 1940, Dmitri Mitropoulos, then the music director of the Minneapolis Symphony commissioned one of Diamond's best-known works. Mitropoulos had specifically asked him for an upbeat piece of music. “Write me a HAPPY work,” asked Mitropoulos. “These are distressing times ... make me happy!” The 29-year-old composer responded with his popular “Rounds for String Orchestra,” which Mitropoulos premiered in Minneapolis in 1944.Also on today's date, in 1984, the American composer and teacher Randall Thompson died in Boston at the age of 85. Randall Thompson wrote three symphonies and some fine chamber works, but HIS best-known piece of music is this choral setting of “Allelujah” which was first performed at the opening of the Berkshire Music Center at Lenox, Massachusetts, in the summer of 1940, when Thompson was 41 years old.“[My ‘Alleujah' is] a very SAD piece,” said Thompson. “Here it is comparable to the Book of Job, where it is written, ‘The Lord giveth and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.'”Music Played in Today's ProgramDavid Diamond (1915-2005) Rounds (Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra; Gerard Schwarz, conductor.) Finally, a new release that actually brings us joy! The latest John Wick installment is bold, funny and a visual delight (as well as utterly ridiculous!). We're also talking The Night Agent, Unforgotten 5 and feeling less celebratory about Allelujah.
James Cameron-Wilson takes Simon Rose through the box office charts, dismissing new #1 Shazam! Fury of the Gods as lacking suspense or laughs. However, he waxed lyrical about the Alan Bennett adaptation Allelujah at #4 ("the feel-sad movie of the year"), with Judi Dench & Derek Jacobi in a story about old age and the NHS. He was even more taken with love story Rye Lane at #7 which he found funny & exhilarating, a debut which excited him in the way Trainspotting had. In few cinemas but on Apple+ is French drama Other People's Children, which James adored, thinking it moving and involving. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Link to MusicMerry Christmas! Today we learn one of the most popular medieval Christmas hymns: Puer Natus in Bethlehem. Let's all raise our voices to praise God for the Incarnation!A child is born in Bethlehem,Exult for joy, Jerusalem!Allelujah. With an exultant heart, let us adore the new-born Christ, with a new song. The Son of God the Father,In the highest has taken flesh,Allelujah.By angel Gabriel announced,The virgin has conceived the Son.Allelujah.Like a bridegroom from the chamber,He proceeds from the womb of the mother.Allelujah.Lo he who reigns above the skies,There in a manger lowly, lies.Allelujah.The ox and ass in neighb'ring stall,See in that child the Lord of all.Allelujah.And kingly pilgrims, long foretold,From East bring incense, myrrh and gold,Allelujah. And enter with their offerings,To hail the newborn King of Kings.Allelujah.He comes, a maiden mother's Son,Yet earthly father has He none;Allelujah. And from the serpent's poison free,He owned our blood and pedigree,Allelujah. Our feeble flesh and His the same,Our sinless kinsman He became,Allelujah. That we, from deadly thrall set free,Like Him, and so like God, should be.Allelujah.Come then, and on his natal day,Rejoice before the Lord and pray.Allelujah.And to the holy One in Three.Give praise and thanks eternally.Allelujah.
JoyReader: Jon WatsonDate: 3rd December 2022Passage: Nehemiah 8:10-------------------Many people think that joy and Christianity don't often go together. Christians may be looked on as killjoys, austere, judgemental and unattractive characters. Maybe we have ourselves to blame for that. That however is not how it should be — it is not the Bible's portrait of a Christian. The Bible tells us that God is a God of joy (Psalm 104:31) and that there is joy in his presence (Psalm 16:11). Christian people share in this joy because they have confessed their sins, repented of them and have received mercy and forgiveness from God himself so they share in this joy — joy that is "inexpressible and full of glory" (1 Peter 1:8).If joy is missing from our faith then we really have some serious thinking to do. A joyless Christian has been described as 'a libel on his Master' because we have forgotten all that he has done for our salvation. God rejoices in his believing people and we rejoice in God and should be 'an Allelujah from head to foot' as one of the early Christians said! PrayerDear Lord, forgive me when my life has been so preoccupied by worldly concerns that I have not rejoiced in the God of my salvation. Amen.

Oftentimes what we don't understand, we fear. What we fear, we sometimes judge as evil. Wouldn't we all be better off if we sought first to understand, before being understood? Proving this episode of 3Q3D is no joke, Chris sits down for a wide-ranging and uplifting conversation with 3 very wise men. Representing Judaism, Christianity and Islam respectively, Rabbi Michael Ross (Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom in Hudson, OH), Father Patrick Schultz (Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Wadsworth, OH), and Masroor Malik (Khatib at the Chagrin Valley Islamic Center in Solon, OH) share their perspective on how their faiths are similar, how they differ (and perhaps differ greatly), and what they believe some misperceive about their chosen religion. And proving the world needs more conversations like this one, prepare to be inspired by each man's answer to the question, “what do you love most about your faith?”Drinks in this Episode:Masala Chai (Traditional Indian/Pakistani Spice Tea) >> Black Tea, cardamom, cinnamon, milk and sugar. Bound to the Risen Christ by Ben Keyes 2020 Here is another rough recording of a new hymn. Bound to the Risen Christ is a broad reflection on the incarnation and our union with Christ in his death and resurrection. The Christian hope is that we go where Jesus goes; that our sin was conquered in him on Good Friday and that a new life is guaranteed in him on Easter morning. I was trying to find different ways of communicating the uniqueness of the cross. It simply cannot be replaced with any other source of hope. I hope you enjoy it and find it encouraging. Ben Keyes Bound to the Risen Christ He who gives us the breath of life died for our sin. And every good and wholesome thing is a gift from Him. So what can we, with a conscience clean withhold from Him? … Allelujah! The God of Israel and this man, they are the same. The Lord, His name unspeakable, took a common name, Which was disgraced but has earned the place of eternal fame…. Allelujah! Chorus: We live, bound to the risen Christ- In his death and life. The Maker of all is our Salvation. Build your kingdom with our hands As we long for the New Creation There is no freedom in life except what was bought that day, So don't reject the priceless gift with attempts to pay, For when we hope in less than this we have gone astray… Allelujah! But no great love have we returned to You, our King. And chilly thanks we give to You, who give everything. So broken spirits and empty hands are all we bring….. Allelujah! Chorus O where were you when all his friends abandoned Him? Yes, I was with Him on that day only by my sin But that part died and what survives will rise with Him … Allelujah! We who stand in the name of Christ have been remade. And bound to Him we will leave behind these empty graves So let us sing in the face of death, ‘we are not afraid'…. Allelujah! Chorus

Yes, I will laud Him until death; With songs and anthems I come before Him As long as He allows me breath. From Him my life and all things came; Bless, O my soul, His holy name. Allelujah, allelujah! 2 Trust not in rulers; they are but mortal; Earth-born they are and soon decay.Source
