Evan catches up with Saskatoon's Chief of Police, Cam McBride, to talk local crime statistics, how the city is doing in 2025 and what information people in Saskatchewan should be aware of.
A lot of people think policing is mostly about force, authority, and “taking control.” We see it differently. The real work is staying human while you're tired, stressed, and surrounded by a culture that sometimes rewards cynicism, ego, and a follower mindset. Tonight we bring on Chuck and Tom from the Warlocker Show to talk honestly about what makes good cops better and what makes bad outcomes more likely, even when nobody means for things to go sideways. We dig into command presence as calm confidence (not cockiness), why debriefs and after-action reviews are a lost art, and how peer accountability can prevent the kind of mistakes that end careers and hurt communities. We also get into constitutional policing in plain language, including a powerful reframing: police are often the ones protecting constitutional rights at home by following them, especially around First Amendment encounters, searches, and everyday discretion that can't be replaced by a spreadsheet. From drones as first responder and surveillance transparency to internal affairs done right, we push past slogans and deal with the messy reality of training, leadership, burnout, and officer wellness. If you care about police accountability, law enforcement training, community safety, or just want a real conversation that doesn't turn into an echo chamber, this one is for you. Subscribe, share it with someone who argues about this stuff, and leave a review with the one change you think would make policing better.send us a message! twocopsonedonut@yahoo.comPeregrine.io: Turn your worst detectives into Sherlock Holmes, head to Peregrine.io tell them Two Cops One Donut sent you or direct message me and I'll get you directly connected and skip the salesmen.Support the showPlease see our Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/TwoCopsOneDonut Join our Discord!! https://discord.gg/BdjeTEAc *Send us a message! twocopsonedonut@yahoo.com

What does it really take to protect your team, your clients, and your business as you grow? In this episode, Collin talks with Stacy Aguilar, owner of Abby's Animal Sitters and Dog Walkers, about how safety and accountability shape every decision she makes. Stacy shares how her background in marketing helped her scale quickly, why her entire team is Fear Free certified, and how body cameras became a cornerstone of her operations. They discuss hiring for teachability, building trust in clients' homes, and setting non-negotiable standards. This conversation challenges pet sitters to rethink what professionalism and protection really look like. Main topics: Business liability and safety Body cameras in pet care Fear Free team standards Hiring for teachability Scaling with accountability Main takeaway: "If safety and accountability are your standard, you can't lower that just because a client asks you to." That's easy to say—but much harder to live out in real business situations. Especially when you're trying to serve people well, keep clients happy, and grow your business. But the truth is, your standards are what define your business, not your exceptions. In pet care, we're entering homes, handling keys, and caring for living animals. Cutting corners—even once—doesn't just create risk, it erodes trust. And trust is everything in what we do. Strong businesses don't bend their values based on convenience. They build systems that protect their team, their clients, and the pets in their care. Sometimes the most professional thing you can say is: "We're not the right fit." About our guest: Stacy Aguilar is the owner and founder of Abby's Animal Sitters and Dog Walkers, a team-based pet care company serving southern New Jersey. With a background in marketing and public relations, Stacy scaled her business from a side project into a multi-employee operation. Her company is fully Fear Free certified and is one of the only pet care businesses in the region using body cameras for accountability and safety. Stacy is passionate about systems, risk management, and building a business that serves both clients and staff well. In this episode, we discuss the United Kingdom's move toward judge-only trials and what the erosion of jury trials means for due process and limits on state power. We examine how plea bargaining, prosecutorial incentives, and presumed guilt have reshaped the criminal justice system, along with the role of body cameras and public trust in law enforcement. We also explore federal enforcement authority, debates over the Second Amendment and constitutional carry, and why gun rights are often treated differently from other civil liberties. The conversation then turns to housing, where we break down competing estimates of the housing shortage, rising prices, zoning restrictions, rent control, and political attempts to manage prices rather than supply. We close by looking at why prices function as signals rather than levers, and how productive disagreement is essential to a healthy society. 00:00 Introduction and Overview 00:27 UK Moves Toward Judge-Only Trials 01:46 Jury Nullification and the Last Check on State Power 03:18 Prosecutors, Plea Deals, and Why Jury Trials Disappear 04:48 Presumed Guilt and the Psychology of Law Enforcement 05:58 Body Cameras and Changing Views of Police Conduct 08:01 ICE, Oversight, and Federal Enforcement Power 08:59 Judge Jeanine Pirro and Threats Against Lawful Gun Owners 10:45 The Second Amendment as a Pre-Existing Right 12:43 Limits, Exceptions, and Constitutional Carry 15:04 Federal Policing and the Purpose of the Second Amendment 16:07 Conflicting Estimates of the U.S. Housing Shortage 18:50 Housing Prices, Income Ratios, and Public Perception 20:43 Down Payments, Rent Pressure, and Affordability Myths 23:47 Spending Habits, Lifestyle Inflation, and Housing Choices 27:30 NIMBYism, Zoning Laws, and Why Supply Stays Constrained 30:15 Rent Control, Landlords, and Market Distortions 32:14 Trump on Housing Prices and Political Price Controls 33:53 Why Prices Are Metrics, Not Levers 36:07 Mortgages, Risk, and Government Loan Guarantees 38:02 How Productive Disagreement Actually Works 40:35 Closing Reflections and Community Engagement Learn more about your ad choices. The Trump administration will provide body cameras to federal officers in Minneapolis. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the body-camera program would expand nationwide to DHS law enforcement as funding becomes available. The fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good are fueling new efforts to fill a longstanding gap in U.S. law: It is nearly impossible to hold federal agents liable for causing someone’s death. Kicking off with escalating national tensions, today’s Rickey Smiley Morning Show highlights the major shift in federal enforcement as ICE and DHS agents in Minneapolis move to immediate body‑camera requirements after public outrage over two fatal shootings in the city. Officials say the mandate will expand nationwide as funding allows, with both bipartisan support and scrutiny shaping the rollout. Meanwhile, daytime TV gets another shake‑up as Sherri Shepherd’s syndicated talk show is officially canceled after four seasons. Producers emphasize that the decision reflects the changing daytime landscape—not a decline in the show’s performance—and say they are already exploring digital‑platform opportunities for its future. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump joins the RSMS crew, bringing insight shaped by decades of landmark advocacy. Recently named the Top Black Newsmaker of the 21st Century due to his impact on major civil rights cases—from George Floyd to Breonna Taylor—Crump continues expanding his reach through justice‑oriented initiatives and national conversations about constitutional rights and government overreach. The show closes on a deeply urgent note as the FBI intensifies its search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, who authorities believe was abducted from her Arizona home. Investigators report forced entry, hundreds of active leads, and an urgent need to locate her due to life‑sustaining medication requirements. Tens of thousands of Minnesota voters are expected to participate in precinct caucuses Tuesday night. They will take straw polls to give their preferences in the race for Minnesota governor and weigh in on issues they think are important. There is no U.S. Senate straw ballot. But Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan — who's running for senate — says she expects the federal immigration enforcement operation will draw turnout. The Department of Homeland Security says it is rolling out new oversight measures for federal immigration agents in Minneapolis. In a statement posted to social media platform X, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced that body cameras are being deployed immediately to every officer in the field in Minneapolis.Meanwhile, a court order requiring federal investigators to preserve evidence in Alex Pretti's fatal shooting has been lifted. The judge says there is no indication that authorities have failed to properly maintain evidence. The FBI is now taking the investigative lead. A separate state probe is ongoing. The Minnesota Court of appeals has ruled that the state cannot criminalize a tribal member for possessing cannabis on tribal land.
Every Homeland Security officer in Minneapolis is now being issued a body camera. That's according to Department of Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem who said the move is effective immediately. MPR News host Kelly Gordon spoke with Lauren Bonds, the executive director of the National Police Accountability Project, to get a better understanding of what this means for accountability efforts.DHS was asked whether cameras are for only ICE agents in the city of Minneapolis or statewide. They were also asked how long it would take for cameras to be up and running. They did not answer those questions.
We start with major changes to the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. House Speaker Mike Johnson faces a key hurdle to reopen parts of the federal government. President Donald Trump struck a deal to lower tariffs on a US trading partner. We have an update from authorities investigating the disappearance of a “Today” show anchor's mother. We'll explain why Trump is threatening to sue Grammy host Trevor Noah. Plus, a man on trial for a high-profile double-murder case learns his fate. Learn more about your ad choices. He then tackles major concerns about ICE body cameras, the risks and realities of Kill Switch technology in modern cars, and President Trump's lawsuit against JPMorgan over alleged political de-banking. Bryan also addresses viral claims involving Bill Gates, meat consumption, parasites, and tick-borne allergies, separating evidence from speculation. A split‑second decision lives in a world your camera can't fully see. That's where we spend this episode, with Force Science's Von Kliem guiding us through how the brain actually works under threat and what that means for accountability, policy, and courtroom truth. We start with the mission: honest accountability grounded in human performance. Von breaks down why perception, cognition, and environment shape both police and civilian choices, and how de‑escalation succeeds only when conditions allow it. From there, we dig into why bodycams aren't eyes. Surveillance systems drop frames, bodycams distort angles and time, and a missing 0.56 seconds can erase a punch or a pre‑attack cue. You'll hear a Montana case where video “proved” no swing, until a frame‑level analysis changed everything. We unpack the gap between deciding to fire and the moment a shot breaks, why warnings are “when feasible” and often not, and how asking for movement can invite danger. In court, opposing experts increasingly invoke “generally accepted practices” that aren't real standards. We examine how that reframes the rules mid‑trial, how prosecutors should handle reasonable doubt ethically, and why juries deserve better than freeze‑frames and hindsight. We also walk through a real‑time bodycam review: a wrong‑way pursuit, a fleeing suspect waving a gun at drivers, and the principles that govern immediate threats. Along the way, you'll learn why “don't move” is the smarter command, how imputed knowledge from air support and dispatch matters, and why audio often tells more truth than video. If you carry a firearm, this conversation is a blueprint: invest in decision making, not just draw speed. Know the law of self‑defense, get insurance that stands by you before the facts look tidy, and train for recognition, avoidance, and control of your own attention. If you lead, legislate, or report, build processes that respect science: scrutinize video provenance, understand frame construction, and resist narratives that travel faster than facts. Rick Smith (CEO, Axon) joined Logan to share the 30-year journey of building a nearly $50B public company behind the TASER, police body cameras, and now AI-powered tools like Draft One. He talks about taking Axon public in the early 2000s, navigating intense public scrutiny, and evolving from a controversial hardware startup into a software and AI pioneer. Rick also reflects on leadership lessons, regulatory battles, and his long-term mission to make the bullet obsolete.
