Juni 2027

Hermann Buhr Vivier of Bitcoin Ekasi and Carel Van Wyk of MoneyBadger join for an emergency dispatch on South Africa's proposed Bitcoin restrictions. We get into draft exchange control rules that would bring Bitcoin under a harsh regulatory framework, including forced disclosure of private keys, undefined transaction thresholds, limits on peer-to-peer commerce, mandatory use of centralized crypto service providers, and potential forfeiture. Then we discuss why South Africa's grassroots Bitcoin adoption matters globally, how MoneyBadger and Bitcoin Ekasi helped build real circular economy usage, and what Bitcoiners can do to push back through public comments, legal challenges, donations, and awareness.Property Rights Defense Group: https://propertyrightsdefense.orgPRDG on X: https://x.com/PRDG_ZABitcoin Ekasi: https://bitcoinekasi.com/Bitcoin Ekasi on X: https://x.com/BitcoinEkasi Bitcoin Ekasi on Nostr: https://primal.net/bitcoinekasi MoneyBadger: https://x.com/MoneyBadgerPayMoneyBadger on X: https://x.com/MoneyBadgerPayMoneyBadger on Nostr: https://primal.net/p/nprofile1qqsz85k206vm3vqdmlvcy9l4kyfqchlnf4hnctasxufa3ph0ck9decgpk49rf EPISODE: 203BLOCK: 949535PRICE: 1264 sats per dollarmore info on the show: https://citadeldispatch.comlearn more about me: https://odell.xyzmonitor the situation: https://citadelwire.comten31: https://ten31.xyzopensats: https://opensats.org

Why you should listenAngie scaled from an 18-year marketing agency to leading AI adoption for 600-person corporations, giving her a rare ground-level view of exactly where companies get stuck and what actually moves people from fear to fluency.Learn the "people-first" sequencing Angie now uses before any AI tool deployment, including how she frames corporate AI training as "recess" to sidestep resistance and drive real adoption.Get Angie's workflow automation logic: how she mapped every bottleneck in her business using Miro, then eliminated them with Make, enabling her to run 15 trainings in a single week instead of her previous max of three. If your clients keep investing in AI tools and their teams still aren't using them three months later, the problem isn't the technology. In this episode, I talk with Angie Carel, an AI enablement consultant who spent 18 years running a marketing agency before pivoting full-time into corporate AI adoption in 2022. Angie works with large corporations across finance, healthcare, and higher education, and her view is consistent: jumping straight to use cases before building AI literacy almost always backfires. We dig into the people-first sequencing she now uses to close the gap between deployment and actual adoption, and why framing AI training as "corporate recess" gets results that formal rollouts never do. If you're a consultant whose clients are sitting on AI investment with nothing to show for it, this conversation will reframe how you solve that problem.About Angie CarelAngie Carel is a Generative AI Consultant named one of the Top 50 Women to Watch in AI and featured in the IEDC 2025 Yearbook as a leading entrepreneur. After running a 10-person marketing agency for 20 years, she went all-in on AI consulting — and in her first year solo, she's on track to outpace her old agency's revenue. Angie founded AI in FW, Indiana's largest AI community with 700+ members, and Co-Crafted, an AI consultancy collective. How can commercial producers use breeding values without recording full pedigrees? This week, Mark chats with Carel Teseling, Chief Operating Officer at Angus Australia, to find out. Carel's career has taken him from South Africa's regional performance recording programs to 14 years of developing genetic tools for Angus Australia, a decade leading Australian Wagyu Association's genetics, and now back to Angus again, giving him unique insight into what actually works for producers across different systems and breeds.Carel begins by sharing the story behind South Africa's groundbreaking work in livestock genetics during the 1990s, as well as his early days tackling genetic conditions in Angus, and his time at the Australian Wagyu Association. After 10 years at the Australian Wagyu Association, Carel returned to Angus Australia in 2025 as Chief Operating Officer, where he's overseeing the parallel running of the trans-Tasman (TACE) analysis and Angus's new internal analysis. He explains how the internal system has been in development for almost five years, includes new traits like immune competence and body condition, and uses different methodological approaches such as avoiding pre-adjustments on carcass data. Angus Australia is letting breeders compare both systems to see how they re-rank animals. Carel explains that while there will be some re-ranking, both point in the same direction and will still guide breeders toward genetic improvement.Carel and Mark also coverCommercial breeding strategiesThe value of female data in maternal breedsHow to identify and cull poor-performing damsWhy commercial producers should pay attention to breeding values even without recording full pedigrees.----For more information on our fundraising efforts for the 'Cure Brain Cancer Foundation' visit this link:https://fundraise.curebraincancer.org.au/fundraisers/markferguson/twentysix2000Head Shepherd is brought to you by neXtgen Agri International Limited. DESCRIPTION Welcome to The Ecommerce Braintrust podcast, brought to you by Julie Spear, Head of Retail Marketplace Services, and Jordan Ripley, Director of Retail Operations. Today, we're tackling what might be the least glamourously named ad product out there: OLV, short for “Online Video.” But don't let the name fool you. Behind that bland acronym lies a powerful tool that's been driving some seriously impressive results. To help us unpack the magic of OLV, we're joined by two of the masterminds making it happen on the front lines: Ross Walker and Carel van Rooyen from our retail media team. “It's getting more and more expensive to buy incremental traffic on Amazon itself. This is true especially for brands competing in premium beauty categories or even CPG grocery categories. It's tough to get an edge.” Ross Walker KEY TAKEAWAYS In this episode, Julie, Jordan, Carel, and Ross discuss: Clarification of OLV as Online Video, distinct from sponsored brand video and streaming TV. Where OLV ads run (off Amazon, across the open web and apps via Amazon's publisher network). How OLV has helped overcome challenges like declining traffic or flat sales on Amazon. OLV's impact on increasing glance views, revenue, and generating a "halo effect" across product catalogs. The importance of keeping creatives fresh to avoid stagnation. Best-performing audience types so far: in-market and lifestyle audiences drive awareness and new-to-brand purchases. Early success testing retargeting and AMC (Amazon Marketing Cloud) lookalike audiences for higher click-through and page view rates. Value of demographic layering, even though it narrows reach, it lowers cost per action and improves efficiency. Lower costs and less competition compared to streaming/connected TV ads. Easier creative requirements: Repurposing existing sponsored brand videos can minimize barriers to entry. OLV fills a vital role in the funnel, driving external traffic before consumers start their Amazon search, improving overall channel performance. How to fund OLV: Testing with incremental budgets where possible, or reallocating spend from less efficient campaign buckets. Examples of positive results even from modest testing budgets (as low as $2,000/month). Why focusing solely on ROAS is limiting; OLV's bigger impact shows up in incremental lifts in overall traffic and sales. Utilizing AMC Path to Purchase reports to demonstrate OLV's role in the customer journey. Rising success with vertical video formats and Amazon's support for new creative options in OLV.
In this episode of Behind the Product, host Zac Darnell and co-host Raman Ohri sit down with AI strategist Angie Carel for a refreshingly candid conversation about the human side of AI adoption. From why skipping AI literacy is a guaranteed misstep, to how “corporate recess” can spark innovation. Angie brings clarity, empathy, and a touch of urgency to a rapidly evolving space. Whether you're a seasoned leader or just dipping your toes into the AI space, this one's packed with insight and inspiration.3 Key Takeaways:AI Literacy is Non-Negotiable: Organizations fail when they skip foundational education. Without a baseline understanding, fear and misuse take hold.Adoption Starts with Play: Introducing “corporate recess” gives employees a low-risk space to experiment, share, and discover meaningful use cases.Experience Still Matters: Great outputs from GenAI come when real-world knowledge meets strong prompting—tools don't replace wisdom. We'd love to hear from you!
