Black Goo has become more than an innocuous symbol on our black-mirror computer, television, and phone screens. Scrying through these devices has conjured something very real into our zeitgeist and lexicon. Invariably the black substance is a byproduct of the insatiable obsession the entertainment industry and silicon valley have with all forms of power. From music videos and demonic possession to quantum computers and cosmicism, Black Goo is now acknowledged as some THING real. Harald Kautz will help us understand the history and technological aspects of the Black Goo.This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5328407/advertisement

In this episode I speak with Semeda, a company based in Germany who creates products for clubfoot treatment. I speak with Harald, Andrea, and Artur a team from Semeda about a wide range of topics pertaining to clubfoot. We discuss the unique challenges clubfoot treatment faces in Europe and where the company sees clubfoot treatment headed in the future. Since we were speaking over seas and they were in a group format, there are bits where the audio got a little tricky, but we persevered and the result was an engaging and interesting conversation about clubfoot. A big thank you to Semeda for being guests on the podcast, it was wonderful to have you on. https://www.semeda.de/english-1/about-semeda/

Ep. 30 gives you a “watchers guide” to Viking dramas available for streaming starting with VIKINGS: VALHALLA now in its second season on Netflix. Alex Chisnall, host of the popular business podcast Screw It Just Do It, is our guest and guide. We met Alex via the Clubhouse social media app where he gave podcasters like us the incentive, courage, and a road map to just do it and launch Historical Drama with The Boston Sisters. Alex, who is close to Viking history in the UK and shares our enthusiasm for history, got us curious about VIKINGS: VALHALLA, and other Viking-themed dramas (see below) currently available on streaming services. Alex Chisnall started his audio career with BBC Radio in the 1990s before deciding to travel the world working for Virgin Atlantic Airlines. He founded his podcast agency, Podpreneur, after the success of his own podcast literally changed his life. Alex Chisnall's podcast Screw It Just Do It is a #1 rated business show downloaded in over 180+ countries from the UK to Uganda. (Recorded 2/20/23) EP. 30 TRANSCRIPT Set over a thousand years ago in the early 11th century, VIKINGS: VALHALLA chronicles the exploits of some of the most famous Vikings from history — the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his courageous warrior sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and the ambitious Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter). Season Two begins after the tragic fall of Kattegat; an event that has shattered the main characters' dreams and altered their destinies. Finding themselves suddenly fugitives in Scandinavia Leif , Harald, and Freydis are forced to test their ambitions and courage in worlds beyond the fjords of Kattegat. VIKINGS: VALHALLA is a sequel to the HIstory Channel's VIKINGS series helmed by Michael Hirst. Created by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive), VIKINGS: VALHALLA is set 100 years later towards the end of the Viking era 1066. The next sequel we are reviewing is "The Pink Panther 2" starring Steve Martin and I was lucky enough to interview the director of it, Harald Zwart. Harald has been making films since he was young, leading him to film school in Amsterdam. After film school, he started to direct commercials which got him on the radar of Spielberg, Michael Douglas, and others in Hollywood. Harald and I talked about our love of Back to the Future, how he met his wife, how the director's pitch to land a job (great story), and making sure all of his films have a big premiere in his hometown of Fredrikstad, Norway. Great chat. Watch the unedited interview and check out photos provided by Harald at sequelsonly.com/HaraldZwart Next up is our review of "The Pink Panther 2 "which is free on Netflix and Pluto. The Lorber society was a religious cult formed in the early 1800s in Dresden, Germany. Harald Alexander had taken over the leadership of this cult after the previous leader George Riehle passed away. After assuming the leadership of the group, Harald would give them one more dogma to abide by- that his second son, the newborn Frank, was the messiah of God. The rest is FUCKING WEIRD. What needs are satisfied in digital gaming? And what does the shift of these need satisfactions into the digital space say about the social realities in which they are embedded? Harald Koberg lets gamers themselves have their say and follows their traces of the described fascinations and passions in his latest book Free Play: Digital Gaming and the Longing for Effectiveness (Freies Spiel: Digitales Spielen und die Sehnsucht nach Wirkmächtigkeit). The answers found aim at experiences of efficacy: digital games and the communication spaces around them offer particular opportunities to experience one's own decisions and actions as relevant and effective. It is not only about narrated stories and interactions with the game, but also about the rules and limits of communication, spaces of unfolding, self-dramatization, and norm-setting. Using the examples of adolescent search for free spaces, insecure masculinity, and achievement society overload, Harald Koberg shows why critique of the medium of video games must focus on people and how much can be determined about larger social contexts along the way. “We looked at our telematics data and found that a car is moved for about 4 to 5% of its lifetime, so there is life outside the car. We can enhance telematics services outside the car”, says Harald. With a background in electronic engineering, Harald shares his journey in to telematics and co-founding Austria-based Dolphin Technologies in 2001, highlighting his passion for preventing accidents and saving lives.“We try to make people avoid wrong decisions and we want to fill the gap of missing information”, as Harald explains Dolphin's product offering following a study of 40,000 drivers over a 2-year period. Harald emphasises the benefits on offer to both policyholders and insurance companies. “Bringing risks down means bringing accidents down, bringing losses down, bringing bodily injury down.” Dolphin is also helping carriers improve CX and up-sell. “Touch points are not very positive and not very frequent, so we help insurance companies and their customers to stay in touch and have a meaningful relationship.”Harald gives an overview of growth plans and challenges moving forward, the culture & values the team are seeking to maintain as the business scales and Dolphin's desire to be a ‘holistic risk partner.'
We are excited to introduce our new season of Holy Donors featuring King Canute the Saint. This season is different from our others in that it's a shorter season, and it takes us much, much further back in time (over 1000 years ago!) to the time of the Vikings. Canute was born in Denmark in 1042 to Sweyn II, King of Denmark and father to more than 20 children, 5 of which followed him as king. Sweyn II died in 1076, and although it is rumored that Canute was his favorite child, Canute's brother Harald, at the pleasure of the country's aristocrats, was the first to take the throne. Canute became King of Denmark in 1080, and he was known as King Canute the Saint. Canute was married to Adele of Flanders and, together, they had three children. As king, Canute was a bold and faithful leader. He did whatever he thought was right, even if he upset Denmark's elite. He was a devout and disciplined Catholic, faithful to his wife (unlike his father!) and eager to spread the Gospel. He, in part, used his role as leader to build churches and support missionaries, using taxes paid by the aristocracy. Upset with Canute's actions as King of Denmark, the aristocrats rebel, and they and their armies trap Canute, his brother, and a small number of loyal soldiers in St. Alban's in Odense. They plan to kill Canute and take control of the country. Will King Canute survive? Join us next time to find out!---Holy Donors is brought to you by Petrus Development (petrusdevelopment.com) in cooperation with RED-C Catholic Radio (redcradio.org).For more about Holy Donors please visit our website at holydonors.com or find us @HolyDonors on Instagram and Facebook.Holy Donors: Bringing you inspiring stories of radical generosity that have changed the world.

While nicknames are the norm in Sports Radio - energy podcasting doesn't quite lend itself to coining the movers and shakers in the energy space - but we did that with our guest today - the Godfather of the PPA in Europe - Dr. Harald Overholm - the found and CEO of Alight Energy. The leader in PPAs in Europe, Overholm tells us how he's always been destined to make moves in clean energy, why the United States has the best entrepreneurs in the world, whether or not Alight will ever venture into the US market and how a chance comment in a Cambridge University cafeteria led to him connecting with Jigar Shah. Learn more about Dr. Harald Overholm and Alight Energy.

“Can we run the same models, but with better data? Can we get to a 1.5-degree world? And that's the ultimate nuclear argument for how Bitcoin mining actually makes sense…where does it make sense to engage with policymakers, to actually build on their language, with their models, rerunning it but with Bitcoin mining, and Bitcoin in the various dimensions as the X factor in the equation.”— Herald RauterHarald Rauter is an environmentalist and Bitcoiner. In this interview, we discuss how UN climate change action is predicated on socio-economic scenarios that no longer apply (i.e. a cooperative world with improving equality), and how Bitcoin's trustless market-based support for the energy transition could be the solution. - - - - The Paris Climate Accords in 2016 set the goal to limit global warming to below 2°C, but preferably 1.5°C, from pre-industrial levels. Following this, the UN'S Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2018 produced a report setting out the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C, and the pathways to keep warming below 1.5°C. The pathways were developed from forecasts of greenhouse gas emissions and radiative forces affecting climate change, and five different plausible scenarios of how the world may evolve in the future in socio-economic terms. These extend from an optimistic scenario where society starts shifting to a sustainable future, to a pessimistic scenario of a multi-polar world focused on national interests. Not all of the scenarios had mitigation pathways developed. The issue is that the world has changed drastically in the short time since the IPCC produced the report: it now resembles the pessimistic scenarios for which we have no mitigation pathways. This is obviously a problem, but not one that is being widely discussed, let alone having potential solutions considered. However, there are some working with environmental investors and policymakers who are seeing Bitcoin's utility in a new light. The world is waking up to Bitcoin being able to support energy grids, subsidise the harnessing of stranded renewable energy and utilise waste methane. What isn't commonly discussed is that it can do all of this without the need for cooperation: it is a trustless protocol with a market-based utility. Bitcoin mining could potentially be an important factor in mitigating climate change and limiting warming to 1.5°C, in an uncooperative world. What is needed is for it to be accounted for in the open source modelling work the IPCC has made available. Once we can quantify its importance, we can educate the decision-makers, and the market should take care of the rest. - - - - This episode's sponsors:Gemini - Buy Bitcoin instantlyLedn - Financial services for Bitcoin hodlersBitcasino - The Future of Gaming is herePacific Bitcoin - Bitcoin‑only event, Nov 10 & 11, 2022Ledger - State of the art Bitcoin hardware walletWasabi Wallet - Privacy by defaultTexas Blockchain Summit - Nov 17-18, 2022 | Austin, TexasBCB Group - Global digital financial Services-----WBD562 - Show Notes-----If you enjoy The What Bitcoin Did Podcast you can help support the show by doing the following:Become a Patron and get access to shows early or help contributeMake a tip:Bitcoin: 3FiC6w7eb3dkcaNHMAnj39ANTAkv8Ufi2SQR Codes: BitcoinIf you do send a tip then please email me so that I can say thank youSubscribe on iTunes | Spotify | Stitcher | SoundCloud | YouTube | Deezer | TuneIn | RSS FeedLeave a review on iTunesShare the show and episodes with your friends and familySubscribe to the newsletter on my websiteFollow me on Twitter Personal | Twitter Podcast | Instagram | Medium | YouTubeIf you are interested in sponsoring the show, you can read more about that here or please feel free to drop me an email to discuss options.
