Jason Hall earned an associate degree from Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, Pittsburgh, in 1995. His career has taken him throughout the United States, from Akron, Ohio, Napa Valley, CA, to Wilmington, NC, where he worked as executive chef at Café Sonoma. Hall has also worked as executive chef at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, SC and for nine years as executive chef at Hammock Dunes Club, Palm Coast, FL. In March of 2015 Jason joined the team at Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte N.C. to lead the culinary department as executive chef. Hall holds more than 25 ACF and international competition medals. He has been recognized for his work with the Northeast Florida Culinary Apprenticeship Committee. Chef Hall has done charitable work with, Habitat for Humanity, James F. Holland Foundation, Rally for a Cure-Susan G. Komen Foundation, Flagler County Education Foundation, and Feed Flagler. In August of 2012 Hall successfully passed the Certified Master Chef Exam (CMC®) at the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, becoming the 67th chef to pass the test. In 2013 Jason was selected to be a member of the exclusive ACF Culinary Team USA 2016, that represented the United States in international cooking competitions across the globe. In November of 2015 Team USA won third place overall at the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg with double gold medals and attaining the highest score out of all nations in the cold food category. In October 2016 the team again dominated the cold food/culinary art category as world champions placing first in the world out of 42 countries and placing 4th overall.

You see, your children's health and well-being depend on adults opting for vaccination. Stay tuned and I will explain why. Musical Introduction Decision Time is Here As they say where I live, it's time to fish or cut bait. We are fortunate to have two highly effective vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 and more in the pipeline that will likely be coming soon. We know the vaccines work and we know they are free from serious short term side effects. As of the time of this writing, which is only a month into the U.S. vaccine campaign, illness numbers in my community of Charlotte N.C. are already starting to fall quite significantly, especially among the health care workers who have been the first to get vaccinated. If you are part of the rest of the population, soon it will time for you to make the big decision... will you get vaccinated? I'm begging you to say yes to that question. In fact, I am making this podcast with the intention of using my name and my influence to convince you to go ahead and get vaccinated as soon as it is available to you. Let me explain to you why this is so important, especially for children. Children are Being Harmed by SARS-CoV 2 As you are probably aware, children aren't dying in large numbers from this coronavirus pandemic thank goodness but they are being harmed, nevertheless. Here is a short list of what many children are facing as a consequence of the pandemic- sleep problems, bodily complaints secondary  worry, depressive thoughts if not outright depression, as well as anxiety and panic attacks.  We also know that not being in school has led to other things that can harm children- fewer reports to social services of child abuse and neglect by teachers, fewer meals being provided at school to children whose families are struggling to feed them, and less time in the secure, safe, enriched environment that schools provide for a child. And what about the loss of quality education and social time in school? How does a child make up for a year of subpar learning and socialization with their peers? The answer is that they likely can't. Time will tell what effects this has on today's children, but I as a pediatrician who has spent his adult life with children of all ages, I can tell you that the loss of in-school time for today's children won't be positive for most and is likely to be devastating for many. What the Numbers Show So, you can see that the quickest way back to normalcy for children is through the administration of effective Covid-19 vaccines to at least 70% of the adult population. But unfortunately, for numerous reasons, acceptance of Covid vaccines by Americans is lukewarm at best. Here is a chart with the numbers from a recent survey published in Scientific American.   What is Causing People to Hesitate about Vaccination? So, what is causing people to hesitate about getting one of the Covid-19 vaccines? What is at the basis of their hesitancy? I'm sure you have heard of some of the wild rumors going around- the vaccine may, instead of preventing the disease, actually infect you or, the vaccine actually contains a microchip that allows the government to track your whereabouts through cells towers or, this is corporate America's way of using the U.S. population for biologic experiments. I've got to tell you; I haven't heard so much paranoid thought since I was a medical student interviewing schizophrenics on the locked psych ward. Has the stress of the pandemic, with the help of social media, tipped a large segment of our population into  paranoid thinking, devoid of attachment to reality? Or,

The biggest news of the week came on Tuesday with the announcement that Georgia and Clemson will kickoff the 2021 season playing each other in Charlotte (N.C.). Read The Book, The Invisible Queen which tells the surprising story of Queen Charlotte, including her African ancestry and her lasting legacy as a supporter of the Abolitionist movement that ended the Atlantic slave trade.  Unbeknownst to most, Charlotte North Carolina has a rich history steeped in black history. The Queen City was founded in 1768 and named for Queen Charlotte! In Queen Charlotte's era slavery was prevalent and the anti-slavery campaign was growing. Portrait painters of the royal family were expected to play down Queen Charlotte's African features. Ramsey's inclination to paint truer versions of the Queen could be seen to have come from being ‘an anti-slavery intellectual of his day. Charlotte N.C. is often called the Queen City. But as the city approaches its 250th birthday, what do we really know about our namesake monarch?   “Most Charlotteans know that our city and county were named in honor Queen Charlotte, with Mecklenburg County being named after her home province in Germany,'” said Adria Focht, president & CEO of The Charlotte Museum of History. A rare highly-educated woman in the 1700s, Queen Charlotte was originally a German princess. . Discussing the mounting tension between police and protesters; as well has having a live interview in player below with Charlotte Mecklenburg’s District 5 county commissioner Matthew Ridenhour.This last week Keith Lamont Scott was shot and killed by a CMPD officer. All initial reports from the police report claim that Scott has a firearm and was not complying with officers orders. A video of the events was released by the family early Friday, but the location of the gun is not easily observed in this video. Scott’s family maintains a position of innocence and is trying to demonize the events a protest did take place. Initial elements of the protest were peaceful. Unfortunately a small, but growing fraction of that element broke off and turned to violence. police department as we’ve seen nationwide.Like with many of these Within hours the looting of a local Walmart, random attacks on whites, blocking of major highways, and deployment of the police occurred. Police engaged what the media calls “protesters” with tear gas and flash bangs to disperse the crowd. By night three it has become abundantly clear that these are not simply protesters. CMPD is reporting that up to 70% of the arrested individuals are coming in from other states. Dark Time - After college when he started his radio show professionally things moved quickly.  Everything seemed great, but an emptiness crept in and ultimately Bryce walked away from the job that he thought he always wanted.  He had a lot of pride thinking that he could do better, but he had nothing.  He was living at home with no girlfriend and friends leaving and Bryce was lost.  God told him he needed to incorporate his faith into his radio talent.   Bryce had too much pride and selfishness thinking he needed to accomplish his goal and God would give it to him. With the help of other good men he began to become accountable when he strayed from God’s purpose for him. An opportunity to work for “Sports Spectrum” a faith- based sports magazine came to Bryce.  In the beginning he was humbled by what he was asked to do.  Eventually he was able to start a podcast with them. Left the magazine to send his show to a station in Boston and realized he could syndicate.  “Unpackin It Ministries” was born. Luke with his partner Butch having gone as far as they could progress in little old New Zealand in the early 70’s  decided they wanted to explore the world of Pro Wrestling, knowing that the USA was the pinnacle. At that time they were known as “Sweet William and the Brute" - The Kiwi’s. First stops were Australia, Singapore, Thailand and then Canada where they spent 3 years, the last one working for Stampede Wrestling owned by the notorious Stu Hart. They returned home in 1974 to do live tapings for the first New Zealand televised wrestling show “On the Mat”. In 1979 while working in Hawaii, Roddy Piper and Buddy Rose called the northwest promoter Don Owen. Hence the invasion of U.S.A by the team now known as “The Sheepherders” After ruling the northwest for 15 months they moved on to the NWA headquarters in Charlotte N.C where they became the Mid Atlantic tag champs in a matter of weeks. In the 80’s the Sheepherders were the most hardcore and brutal tag team in North America and held numerous titles throughout the US and around the globe. In mid 1988 the boys got a call from WWF (WWE) and off they went to the biggest promotion on the planet. The Sheepherders were now known as the BUSHWHACKERS who were loved by everyone. These eccentric farm boys from “Down Under” mesmerized millions of fans from all walks of life, young, old, rich and poor from all corners of the globe.  Among the many TV shows the boys were featured on was Warner Brothers “Family Matters” featuring the character Steve Urkel. After the WWF era The Bushwhackers worked in England and Europe. Butch returned to New Zealand in 2001 and Luke went on to work in wrestling offices as talent coordinator.
