We've learned that everything we want is out of our comfort zone, yet no one teaches us how to survive in the discomfort zone. Still, if we dig deep, there's nothing comfortable about the comfort zone; there is no comfort in unrealized dreams, in not being ourselves. The comfort zone is actually a lie; it is the known zone. Either way, there's only one exit, and it requires a change in our belief system, which our guest, Janine Durso, happens to know a lot about. In this episode, the inspiring Janine Durso invites us to shred limiting beliefs, reveal our true selves, and, through that discovery, promote personal growth and connect with a deep sense of realization and fulfillment. Janine is the Beliefologist, a Life Coach on a mission to help others bust their limiting beliefs and live their lives to the fullest. After years of a highly successful yet exhausting career in corporate, a statement from her cardiologist put Janine's life upside down: "You'll have a stroke if you don't slow down, not 5 years from now, no next year, now. Go back to your house and change your life immediately." Throughout our conversation, Janine talks about her transformation after that consultation with her cardiologist and the importance of creating a healthy work-life balance. You'll also hear about her discoveries on limiting beliefs and why it is so hard to get rid of them, how she dealt (and still deals) with her own, and her advice on going from reactive to creative mode. Additionally, Janine talks about why she became a beliefologist, the origin of the name, the four steps of the Beliefology Method, and much more.Tune in to Episode 138 of the Joy Found Here and learn more about Janine's formula to bust the limiting beliefs between you and who you were born to be. Today I have a special guest, fellow podcaster and serial entrepreneur with multiple exits under his belt, Jeff Durso. Jeff is a Massachusetts native who after attending MIT, sold his first business at the height of the internet bubble in 2000. We'll hear how a strategic partner can turn into an acquirer without any notice and how a well-timed silence during the subsequent negotiation with that buyer was worth an extra $1 million to Jeff. On his second exit, Jeff describes the incredible hurdles he and his team overcame to get multiple investors in. With signatures in place to not blow up a deal. Jeff shares his lessons learned on keeping your cap table clean and how time is not your friend in any M&A engagement. Currently, Jeff is the host of the Founder Breakthroughs Podcast, interviewing fellow founders on their incredible stories, as well as running Startup Mastermind, helping new founders get their businesses off the ground.A few highlights:(5:30) ... How a throwaway bullet point and a timely moment of silence created another $1M to Jeff and his partners (9:00) ... The cars that became the motivation for Jeff and his partner (and brother) to sell their first business - Acura NSX and a red Ferrari 355 Spider (17:17) ... Selling at the top of the NASDAQ(22:29) ... In Jeff's 2nd company, the 43 investors and an error by the State of Delaware that almost killed the deal.I hope you enjoy my conversation with Jeff Durso.

Hello everyone and welcome to Episode Sixty Five! I hope all of you remain safe and healthy out there. I'm back in the booth after a couple of weeks in Peru and it's great to talk with you all again. As always, I want to thank all of the patrons of the show – we would not be kicking off a third season without you and I appreciate your support. To others in the listening audience, if you like the show, please consider supporting it via the So Much Pingle Patreon page. You can support the show for as little as three buck a month - less than a fancy cup of coffee! You can also support the show via one-time contributions via PayPal or Venmo (please contact me via email to somuchpingle@gmail.com). I also want to mention that my buddy Bryan Hughes and I were recent guests on the Arizona Wildlife Federation podcast, which is hosted by my long-time friend, Michael Cravens. And of course Bryan has been on my show a number of times and I did an episode with Michael back in season one. At any rate, Michael had us on to discuss field herping, as a recreational activity and as a recreational activity in Arizona, and it is Episode 12. It was a lot of fun and thanks Michael for inviting me to participate. If you're living out there and you're partaking of the tremendous natural wonderland that is Arizona, well you should be listening to the Arizona Wildlife Federation podcast. Michael does a great job with the show and it's off to a great start. Check it out! My guest this week is Dr. Andrew Durso, he is an Assistant Professor of Wildlife Biology at Florida Gulf Coast University, and it's been my privilege to know him for more than a decade and we've worked on a few projects together and I hope that continues. Andrew describes himself as an ecologist but as you'll hear from our conversation, he's involved in other projects outside the focus of ecology, so I will just call him a scientist with a capital S. Andrew is also the author of the fantastic Life is Short, but Snakes are Long blog, which we cover as well. We also discuss one scientific paper in particular, "Harnessing the Power of a Global Network of Citizen Herpetologists by Improving Citizen Science Databases", which can be downloaded from Dr. Durso's list of publications. Thanks so much for coming on the show Andrew! It was great to chat with you and I look forward to our next meeting. And thanks for listening everyone! And as always, please keep the comments and suggestions coming, and please take time to rate the show on your podcast platform! The show email is somuchpingle@gmail.com, and there's also a So Much Pingle group on Facebook, for discussion, comments, feedback, suggestions, herp confessions, blind snake capture techniques, tips for herping better, etc. Cheers! Mike
