Gabby Petito Update; Breaking Down The Cold, Callous and Tone Deaf Behavior Of Bryan Laundries Parents Amid Crisis Could the tragic fate of Gabby Petito have been prevented? That's the haunting question that lingers as we unravel the disturbing web of indifference, denial, and alleged complicity surrounding her murder. From law enforcement's failure to act on clear warning signs to the Laundrie family's cold detachment, the case isn't just about one life lost—it's about the larger implications of how power, privilege, and silence protect the wrong people. Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins us to dissect the psychological mechanisms at play—how a family seemingly prioritized self-preservation over justice, how an alleged abuser operated without consequence, and why, time and time again, red flags are ignored until it's too late. Is this just another tragic case, or is it a reflection of something much darker within society itself? And seriously… who takes their son on a camping trip when he's suspected of murder? #GabbyPetito #BrianLaundrie #TrueCrime #PsychologyOfCrime #HiddenKillers #CrimeAnalysis #JusticeForGabby Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? When a loving mother and dedicated nurse's body is found nude on the side of the road, several suspects end up on law enforcement's radar. It would take years and the determination of the victim's family to unspool the secrets (and secret lives) of those involved to finally unmask the killer. Sources: 1. Highlights from the podcast The profound realization that "It's only a problem if you make it a problem" struck me deeply during a memorable trip to Belize. As I sat on a dock in San Pedro, reflecting on life's challenges and desires for change, a wise local's words resonated, shaping my heart's message moving forward. Welcome to "It's All About the Heart, Baby," where we delve into the essence of Leo energy and the power of the heart. Greetings, I am Queen B. Divine, and I'm thrilled to explore the vibrant energy of Leo with you. Leo, represented by the lion, the sun, and the heart, symbolizes fire and passion. This season, we're not experiencing a total eclipse of the heart but an awakening—an opportunity to truly understand what we love and what we refuse to tolerate any longer. This year is about clarity, growth, and the realization that knowledge elevates us. **The Ladder of Knowledge and Growth** Knowledge is a ladder in life, and surrounding ourselves with supportive people is crucial for our growth. Leo, the sign of the heart, encourages us to open our hearts and embrace joy and beauty. However, mental health requires acknowledging both the light and the darkness, allowing us to make informed decisions. **Recognizing and Addressing a Damaged Heart** The first sign of a damaged heart is the words we speak. Callous comments, such as "better them than me," reveal deeper issues. The second sign is when someone claims they're "fine" despite evident struggles in their life. Denial and avoidance create a callous over the heart, preventing healing. The universe often intervenes, putting blocks in our path to force reflection. Whether it's a relationship ending or a job loss, these moments signal the need for change and growth. Embracing the crumble allows us to rebuild authentically, taking full responsibility for our actions and learning from them. As we navigate Leo season, pay attention to the signs your heart is sending. The heart's energy is powerful, driving our passions and dislikes. Join me at bluntreflection.com for more insights on healing the heart, including herbal remedies and mental practices. Together, let's become the best versions of ourselves by nurturing and understanding our hearts. --- **Explore More:** For further insights and practical tips on heart health, visit [bluntreflection.com](https://www.bluntreflection.com), where I share my journey and the tools I've used to heal and grow. Embrace the power of Leo energy and let your heart lead the way.Follow and subscribe for the end of Leo season report

“Hypermasculinity is a psychological and sociological term for the exaggeration of male stereotypical behavior, such as an emphasis on physical strength, aggression, and human male sexuality. In the field of clinical psychology, this term has been used ever since the publication of research by Donald L. Mosher and Mark Sirkin in 1984. Mosher and Sirkin operationally define hypermasculinity or the "macho personality" as consisting of three variables: Callous sexual attitudes toward women The belief that violence is manly The experience of danger as exciting They developed the Hypermasculinity Inventory (HMI) designed to measure the three components.[1] Research has found that hypermasculinity is associated with sexual and physical aggression towards women[2][3][4] and perceived gay men.[2] Prisoners have higher hypermasculinity scores than control groups.[5]” -Wikipedia. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

In the shocking aftermath of Halyna Hutchins' death on the "Rust" movie set, armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed's initial focus seemed to be on her own career. But was she merely in shock, or does this reveal a deeper disregard for safety? Now, facing criminal charges, the spotlight is on her actions and the chaotic conditions that led to disaster. Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer joins Tony Brueski to break down the trial and its critical questions: Callous or Confused? What does Gutierrez-Reed's bodycam statement reveal about her mindset after the shooting? Was it self-centeredness, or the panicked reaction of someone deeply inexperienced? Scapegoat or Culprit? Could Gutierrez-Reed, with her limited training, be taking the fall for a system that prioritized cutting corners over gun safety? Negligence vs. Crime: Where's the line between a terrible accident and criminal responsibility? Was Halyna Hutchins' death preventable, and if so, who should be held accountable? Beyond the Armorer: Could Alec Baldwin have done more to ensure his own safety? What systemic failures allowed live ammo and unqualified personnel on set in the first place? Lessons from Tragedy: As other accidental shootings on sets come to light, is the movie industry's culture of gun safety fundamentally flawed? This episode probes the complex issues of responsibility, negligence, and the devastating consequences of ignoring the dangers of firearms, even in the pursuit of entertainment. This week, in a listener-researched and written episode, we head to Omagh in Northern Ireland, as we take a look at the brutal 1998 murder of 17-year-old Sylvia Fleming. On the cusp of adulthood, and with a difficult childhood now behind her, Sylvia thought she had struck gold when she met 26-year-old Stephen Scott. He was charming, handsome and popular. But he had a wicked side and enjoyed putting Sylvia down in front of her friends and family. And behind closed doors, things were much, much worse. He carried out his sadistic sexual fantasies on Sylvia and on the night of 3 April 1998, armed with a syringe full of insulin, he went too far and Sylvia paid with her life. A truly harrowing case... Our thanks to Rhiannon Smith for researching and writing this episode and our thoughts remain with the loved one of Sylvia Fleming. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for February 10, 2024 is: callous KAL-us adjective Someone or something described as callous does not feel or show any concern about the problems or suffering of other people. // Several employees cringed at the callous remark their supervisor made about the team's performance. See the entry > Examples: "The tragedy of AI is not that it stands to replace good journalists but that it takes every gross, callous move made by management to degrade the production of content—and promises to accelerate it." — Brian Merchant, The Los Angeles Times, 1 Dec. 2023 Did you know? A callus is a hard, thickened area of skin that develops usually from friction or irritation over time. Such a hardened area often leaves one less sensitive to the touch, so it's no surprise that the adjective callous, in addition to describing skin that is hard and thick, can also be used as a synonym for harsh or insensitive. Both callus and callous come via Middle English from Latin. The figurative sense of callous entered English almost 300 years after the literal sense, and Robert Louis Stevenson used it aptly when he wrote in Treasure Island "But, indeed, from what I saw, all these buccaneers were as callous as the sea they sailed on."
It's almost a year since 16-year-old Brianna Ghey was stabbed to death in a park in Warrington. She'd been lured there by two 15-year-olds - Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe - who carried out the most brutal and bloody attack. They've now been jailed for life. But how did two seemingly innocent teenagers become utterly callous killers? From ITV Granada, Rob Smith tells Gamal Fahnbulleh What You Need to know…
In the last of this brief series, we employ more upside-down thinking to consider the ways in which Satan would like us to act and react in order to ruin our spiritual health. He will, by all means, prevent us from coming to and keeping near Christ. The last four strategies we consider are his urgings to resist the concern of our brothers and sisters for our souls' good, to develop a diet of spiritual junk food, to stir up envy in our hearts, and to lower our expectations of God and his church. If we do these, with the others, incrementally, simultaneously, and defensively, it is a recipe for disaster. So, we must remember the reality of this battle, gauge the hostility of our foe, beware the subtlety with which he operates, and grasp the remedy in Christ Jesus, and use the means he has provided to keep from stumbling and falling.

Callous unemotional behaviors can be challenging to understand. One community study of 1136 children (from 3rd-7th grade) found that 10%–32% of those with conduct disorder and 2%–7% of those without conduct disorder met the callous emotional specifier threshold in the DSM-5. In this episode, we will discuss what callous unemotional behaviors are, how they look like, how to assess these behaviors, types of interventions, and more. Dr. Meghan Rose Donohue joins us today to help us unpack this topic. She is an instructor in psychiatry and works in the division of child and adolescent psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine.Published On: 12/18/2023Duration: 24 minutes, 33 secondsJoshua Feder, MD, and Mara Goverman, LCSW, have disclosed no relevant financial or other interests in any commercial companies pertaining to this educational activity.

In this episode we discuss sharing the Gospel with people in our familes. Often, family members, immediate and distant can be the most difficult to share the Gospel with. What are some helpful principles for sharing with them? We answer questions on the looming government shutdown and whether or not a Christian can have a calloused heart towards God. We top it off with a game featuring fall foods available at county fairs across the country.
Grace shares the horrific stories of violence and murder that seems to be infecting younger and younger age groups. How does a nation grow this callous? How does a society get to this point? Tune in for two stories that are scary for the future of the United States.
