Guvernul analizează extinderea bazei de contribuabili la sănătate în timp ce Bursele elevilor vor fi reconfigurate, iar sporurile vor fi reevaluate. Edit y WSL libresMicrosoft abre Edit y anuncia WSL abierto, impulsando desarrollo Linux y Windows con código libre totalmente.  Edit y WSL libresPor Félix Riaño @LocutorCoMicrosoft anunció que va a publicar el código fuente de dos herramientas clave para desarrolladores: el nuevo editor de texto llamado Edit y el subsistema Windows Subsystem for Linux, conocido como WSL. El código fuente de un programa es como su receta secreta. Al hacerla pública, cualquiera puede ver cómo funciona, modificarla y mejorarla. Edit es un programa de texto simple y ligero que funcionará directamente en la línea de comandos de Windows, como un bloc de notas, pero sin necesidad de abrir ventanas adicionales. WSL es una herramienta que permite usar programas de Linux dentro de Windows, combinando dos sistemas que antes eran rivales. ¿Será esta movida el inicio de una nueva relación entre Windows y el software libre?  Pero abrir código despierta dudas futuras sobre seguridad y soporte.  Edit nació porque las versiones de 64 bits de Windows no tenían un editor de texto sencillo en la línea de comandos. Un editor de texto es como una hoja en blanco donde puedes escribir y modificar texto, pero Edit está diseñado para funcionar directamente en la terminal, la pantalla negra donde se escriben comandos. Los usuarios podrán usarlo para escribir código, notas o cualquier texto sin necesidad de abrir otras aplicaciones. Y, al ser de código abierto, cualquiera puede ver cómo funciona, copiarlo, cambiarlo y mejorarlo. Esta libertad permite que los desarrolladores añadan nuevas funciones y corrijan errores más rápido.  Sin embargo, hay dudas sobre el compromiso de Microsoft con estos proyectos. Aunque Edit es ligero y promete ser útil, algunos temen que Microsoft lo abandone, como ha hecho con otros proyectos en el pasado. En cuanto a WSL, su apertura también despierta preguntas sobre seguridad. Cuando un programa muestra su código al público, cualquier persona puede ver cómo funciona, pero también puede detectar errores o vulnerabilidades. Esto podría hacer que WSL sea más seguro si la comunidad corrige esos errores, o más riesgoso si los atacantes encuentran formas de aprovecharse de ellos.  Microsoft asegura que Edit llegará integrado en futuras versiones de Windows y que su desarrollo será abierto y colaborativo, lo que significa que cualquier persona podrá aportar mejoras a su diseño y funcionalidad. En cuanto a WSL, su apertura permitirá que los desarrolladores añadan funciones y corrijan errores directamente. Esto podría hacer que Windows se vuelva una opción aún más popular entre los programadores, ya que les permite usar herramientas de Linux sin abandonar su sistema operativo de siempre. Además, WSL seguirá ofreciendo compatibilidad con Ubuntu, Fedora y otras distribuciones de Linux.  Edit es extremadamente ligero, con menos de 250 KB de tamaño. Esto es como una pequeña carta digital. WSL, por otro lado, lleva existiendo desde 2016 y ha permitido a millones de usuarios de Windows usar programas de Linux sin instalar otro sistema operativo completo. En lugar de depender de máquinas virtuales que consumen mucha memoria, WSL permite usar Linux directamente dentro de Windows de manera eficiente. Ahora que su código es abierto, cualquier persona puede revisar cómo funciona, hacer mejoras y adaptarlo a sus necesidades.  Microsoft liberó Edit y casi todo WSL, abriendo la puerta a mejoras hechas por la comunidad. On today's episode of the Out of Site Podcast, Adio Royster has to eat a little bit of crow as the Philadelphia 76ers defeat Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets 126-121 in South Philadelphia this past Tuesday. (For context, Adio continues to state that Jokic is the best center in the NBA followed closely - his words - by Joel Embiid). Embiid played well. Tyrese Maxey threw in another excellent night in close to 43 minutes played, and stop us when you've heard this: "Tobias Harris has been looking good in the month of January". All of this to say that the Sixers are looking very interesting as a potential contender for the NBA Championship this year, buyers at the NBA Trade Deadline in a few weeks, and an intriguing team to watch in the off-season with all of the potential cap space and assets that General Manager Daryl Morey was able to acquire with the James Harden trade. The Indiana Pacers sent a few players and draft picks to the Toronto Raptors for Pascal Siakim, so that deletes one name from the list of potential targets the Sixers could be trading for. Do the Sixers go after a different potential third star or work the margins and make a ripple or two somehow with buyout possibilities like Charlotte Hornets forward Gordon Hayward or Atlanta Hawks guard Patty Mills. The Sixers could still be in the market for Chicago Bulls guards Zach Lavine and Alex Caruso as well as Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray. We'll have to see what Daryl has planned in a few weeks. The happiness of last week's podcast is all but gone now that Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid has missed the last few games with a knee injury. Adio Royster and David Early express frustrations with the Sixers coaching staff (seemingly) continuing to mismanage Embiid's minutes based on his health. After an awkward landing against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Embiid continued to play and now hasn't been in the lineup since the January 5th game against the New York Knicks. He will miss tonight's game when the Sacramento Kings come to the crib in South Philadelphia, but with a handful of significant games (two against the Denver Nuggets and one game each against standings chasers Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic), how detrimental will that decision be? The Sixers are currently 2-7 on the year when Embiid is out, and Tyrese Maxey (who has been playing out of his mind, lately) can only carry the team so much on his 6'0" frame. After the break, now that OG Anunoby has been traded to the Knicks since the last podcast, Adio and Dave go through the potential tier list of players who the Sixers might want to think about targeting come the trade deadline. Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam is a name that continues to swirl around the league, but now, Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray has also come up as a potential target for some teams. It has been a long time since your hosts Adio Royster and David Early got together to talk Philadelphia 76ers. Maybe they just haven't been able to formulate the takes and stunning commentary you would expect (given the off-season) because they've had to flip the script. Subtract James Harden. Subtract Doc Rivers. Insert Nick Nurse. Insert Tyrese Maxey. After all of that, your Sixers are 23-10 after 33 games of the 2023-2024 season, and there is a lot to be happy about. The team looks clean and crisp. They're a game back of the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2-seed and three back of the Boston Celtics for the top seed in the conference. Who knew all of this was possible? They should have known given Joel Embiid expanding and continuing on his MVP-iid level play as well as Tyrese Maxey taking yet another leap, offensively. Adio and David discuss all of that as well as what the Sixers should do going forward in terms of trade possibilities.
