We know you want US Champs reactions, but this episode starts with the real post-mortem you've been waiting for... the redux on the Hot Ones challenge where Kara and Des go full TMI on you. They tell you all about the spicy aftermath of last week's episode, and Des shares that she has been going back for more. Then after quick life updates, they get into in-depth recaps of every event 800m+ at the US Champs. There are almost too many storylines to cover from surprises in the distance events to some sprint drama both on and off the track. There was so much good stuff that it took a full 95 minutes to recap. We can't wait for Tokyo... can you?!

We are mixing it up with this episode, and let's just say that things get a little bit spicy! If you haven't subscribed to our YouTube channel yet, then now is the time b/c you will want to watch this one there for sure. In this episode, I (editor Chris) join as host to take Des and Kara through the Hot Ones challenge, using the hot sauce line-up from Season 27 of the show. Hot Ones is the show with hot questions and even hotter wings, but since we recorded this in Austin, we swapped in smoked brisket for hot wings, with all of the same sauces from the show. To start, we cover fun running questions and then get into deeper life stuff as the bites getting hotter. Des and Kara hang in there pretty well until brisket bite #8, when things drastically fall off the rails as we hit the infamous "Da Bomb" sauce. Des starts sweating dramatically from the sides of her nose, and suddenly Kara can't form a coherent sentence. In addition to the hilarious spectacle of it, you learn some fun stuff along the way including their post-long-run food of choice, their alt Olympic sport from another life, some very questionable road-trip hygiene choices, and how they remain authentic in the public eye (plus so much more). How will these two Olympians handle the challenge?!? Tune in to find out!
God is referred to as He, Father, King so much in scripture that many people just assume that is the proper way to talk about God. But people are often surprised that God is also consistently talked about in feminine ways in the Bible as well, especially as a Mother. All of us have images and metaphors for God that are comfortable to us. We need images and metaphors to understand God, but God is always greater than these images. To say God is Father or Mother is a way of getting at God's character. Like a parent God watches over, protects, disciplines, encourages, and loves us. But this language describes God's character, not God's essence. So no matter what words you use to describe God, don't ever think that those words capture all of who God is.

We're closing out Nolan Month on The WatchTower Film Podcast with his most explosive film yet—Oppenheimer. And to honor the occasion (or punish ourselves), we brought on special guests Carlos Corral and Alan Borunda and challenged the whole crew to take on The Bomb—yes, that Hot Ones sauce.Spoiler: it did not go well.In between gulps of milk and fits of regret, we actually do manage to unpack Nolan's epic biopic—its towering performances, tense structure, moral weight, and why Cillian Murphy might've just delivered the performance of the decade. It's heavy. It's hilarious. It's painfully hot. Tune in.
Great News! Instead of a regular episode this week, we've Livestreamed ourselves taking on the Hot Ones challenge. That means we ate spicy wings, answered spicy questions, and took on spicy challenges! Tony is joined by Stephen (@slomo_delpo) and they review Maria Sharapova's episode of Hot Ones. They also use the episode to kick off a quick kiki about their favorite Maria shots and moments. In this bonus episode, they discuss: Maria's funny anecdote about her 4th round Wimbledon win in 2004. Her "trick shots" Her *perfect* answer on pickleball And how well Maria poured a beer on the showIt's a must-listen even for people who weren't huge Maria Sharapova fans - she absolutely crushed this interview. Does God have a plan. Is God in control? Yes. Do you get to make choices and shape your life? Yes. When you hold these both together, it offers a lot of hope. God is in control and scripture promises that God goes before us, walks with us, and has determined to save us. But in this journey, we have choices about how to live and move through life. And you don't have to be worried about “missing” God's plan for your life, because there are so many ways to be faithful to it.

We just got a new paper that compares initial treatment with adenosine compared with diltiazem for the treatment of adults with SVT in the ED. Wouldn't it be great if it turned out that diltiazem was just as effective, if not more effective, as adenosine without the crappy feeling? Yeah, that'd be great, but what do we do with statistically insignificant results. Is there, perhaps, a way to save this “insignificant” paper? Fear not, Bayes is here! Yes, that's right, Dr. Jarvis is grabbing this new paper and diving straight back into that deep dark rabbit hole of Bayesian analysis. Citation:1. Are the couple behind the phenomenally successful 'The Salt Path' lying in their incredible memoir? How has an AI band duped music fans around the world? What is the secret sauce to the Youtube sensation Hot Ones? The Salt Path rocked the world in 2018 when couple Raynor and Moth Winn told their real-life tale overcoming terminal illness and homelessness by taking a 630 mile walk around the UK. Now an incredible article in the Observer claims that the main elements of Raynor and Moth Winn's story, including their names, are fabrications. “Those moments of connection when you can have them with people who seem so different from you on the outside, I really do think that it braids a level of connectiveness and empathy, and it is much harder to harden your heart.” — Gayle FormanWhat does it mean to rise to the occasion, not once, but over and over again? Sometimes it means reckoning with grief. Other times it means stumbling forward, messing up, and trying again. And sometimes it means simply showing up, imperfect, but still trying to be better.Gayle Forman is the bestselling author of If I Stay, Frankie & Bug, Not Nothing, Afterlife and more. Whether it's Mia in If I Stay, Alex in Not Nothing, or Amber in Afterlife, her characters often walk a jagged path toward healing, falling short, trying again, and inching closer to the people they hope to become. In this episode, Gayle talks about growing up as a self-described “odd duck,” the Ramona books that shaped her childhood and parenting, and the formative years she spent traveling solo. She opens up about why she is so drawn to flawed characters and how fiction became a way to survive grief and stay connected to the people she has lost.***For her reading challenge, Flawed, Gayle is going to bat for the prickly, messy, not-here-to-be-liked protagonists. She points out that kids are used to reading about heroes, but it can be just as powerful, maybe even more so, to read about characters who fall short and grow anyway. In the 94th episode of the WGI Unleashed podcast, we're excited to introduce you to Chris Velasquez, EIT, a Senior Graduate Engineer in our Civil + Land Development Team based out of WGI's San Antonio, TX office! Join us as hosts Dan and Katie travel to the Alamo City to sit down with Chris for a spirited, insightful, and entertaining conversation filled with compelling career highlights, hilarious anecdotes, and fascinating behind-the-scenes stories from Chris's unique journey within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. From Curiosity to Engineering Excellence Chris's passion for engineering and innovation sparked long before his professional career began, and his journey to where he is today is anything but conventional. Born in New Jersey but raised in Rosenberg, Texas, Chris humorously recounts his childhood experiences growing up in a quiet subdivision, jokingly referring to it as "the hood." His curiosity and keen problem-solving abilities were evident from a young age. On the podcast, Chris shares vivid memories of his school years, including an unusual educational structure where sixth, seventh, and eighth grades each had their own separate buildings, and his early fascination with engineering, sparked by hands-on high school classes in aerospace, mechanical, and civil engineering. College Triumphs and Steel Bridge Competitions Chris chose to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), balancing the desire for independence with proximity to family. At UTSA, Chris actively participated in the American Society of Civil Engineers' Steel Bridge Competition, where his team repeatedly secured regional wins and competed nationally against some of the most prestigious universities in the country! Internship Experiences and Transition to WGI Chris gained valuable experience through internships, initially exploring public works before discovering WGI through a UTSA career fair. His humorous anecdote about initially confusing WGI with a color guard organization highlights his amicable personality and underscores his seamless fit within WGI's culture. His internship at WGI proved instrumental, smoothly transitioning him into a full-time role upon graduation, thanks to the mentorship of colleagues in the public works team. From Intern to Influencer Over four years at WGI, Chris has grown from an eager intern to a respected Senior Graduate Engineer. He reflects on his professional development, noting how he now actively mentors new team members and interns. Chris highlights how each project presents unique challenges, making every day exciting and engaging. He emphasizes how teamwork and a supportive environment have significantly contributed to his personal and professional growth at WGI. Life Beyond The Office Outside work, Chris enthusiastically shares his love for chicken wings, especially lemon pepper wings cooked in an air fryer, proudly noting his dislike of chicken nuggets. He also humorously recounts the San Antonio office tradition of participating in the "Hot Ones" spicy wings challenge, despite his aversion to spicy foods, simply because he "doesn't like giving up." What Makes WGI Special Chris quickly points out that what makes WGI stand out is its remarkable people and collaborative spirit. "At WGI, you're more than just an employee - you're part of a close-knit community genuinely invested in your growth and success," Chris shares, emphasizing the nurturing and supportive company culture that inspires everyone to reach their highest potential. Tune In This episode is packed with unforgettable moments - from conquering UTSA's Steel Bridge competitions and navigating spicy wing challenges in the San Antonio office, to mentoring the next generation of engineers and solving real-world infrastructure problems with heart and humor. So, tune in, and as always, stay curious, stay driven, and keep unleashing your full potential! Ashton Kutcher has a long-standing friendship with Sean "Diddy" Combs, which has recently come under scrutiny. In a resurfaced 2019 interview on Hot Ones, Kutcher awkwardly dodged questions about what went on at Diddy's infamous "White Parties," where many celebrities gathered. When asked for details, Kutcher laughed it off, saying, "I've got a lot I can't tell," and added that he was "cycling through" memories but refrained from sharing specifics. This refusal to discuss the parties, paired with his cryptic remarks, has sparked renewed interest following Diddy's recent legal troubles.Kutcher described their relationship as "bizarre," explaining that it started when Diddy became a fan of Punk'd. We covered a paper in episode 81 that suggested treating atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response in the field could lower mortality. But it also drops BP a bit. Could pretreating these patients with calcium lower the risk of hypotension? Dr Jarvis puts on his nerd hat and uses Bayesian analysis to assess a new randomized, placebo-controlled study that looked at just this thing. Why is he going off on this Bayes thing? Because he's been reading a couple of book on it and wanted to take it for a spin. Tables: Charts: Bayesian Distributions: Citation: 1. However, recent events have put their relationship under scrutiny. In September 2024, Diddy was arrested on serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, which have led to a significant public backlash. Many are now questioning how Kutcher, a prominent advocate against human trafficking through his organization Thorn, could have missed the signs of his friend's alleged behavior.Kutcher, who co-founded Thorn in 2009 to combat child sexual exploitation, has not publicly addressed his past association with Diddy since the arrest. This silence has drawn criticism, with many pointing out the apparent conflict between his activism and his friendship with Diddy. As expected, the Marathon to put distance between Diddy and his one time friends is now fully underway. The question remains however:What did Ashton Kucher see and when did he see it?(commercial at 9:56)to contact me:'bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

This weekend in the theaters is ‘Lilo & Stitch' vs. ‘Mission Impossible.' If you're heading to BottleRock or a concert don't forget your see through backpack! Aaron Paul cracks us up on ‘Hot Ones,' and some brief Diddy updates. Half of people clean their house before the cleaning person comes. Plus, Sarah tells us about her childhood days on Cape Cod.
Conan is cracking us up, per usual. Sesame Street's future is in question. Is Nicole Kidman wearing a wig? Plus, the Diddy trial is continuing, and we aren't enjoying it. Kurt Cobain started in a CCR cover band, mosquitoes play favorites, and it's hard to imagine a time before the t-shirt. Would you sleep in a bed off the edge of a cliff?
The guys workshop an idea for a new show called "Hot Zero Tards" that will rival the very popular show "Hot Ones." Bobby and Jay tell voiceover stories where Bob becomes an angry baby and Jay gives an embarrassing impression of Charlie Sheen. Jacob and Bob were both extras in movies and the reality of acting was more difficult than imagined. Bob plays clips of a travel show he pitched that revolved around a U-Haul and Dan Soder performing stand-up on the street. *To hear the full show to go www.siriusxm.com/bonfire to learn more FOLLOW THE CREW ON SOCIAL MEDIA: @thebonfiresxm @louisjohnson @christinemevans @bigjayoakerson @robertkellylive @louwitzkee @jjbwolfSubscribe to SiriusXM Podcasts+ to listen to new episodes of The Bonfire ad-free and a whole week early.
