Habakkuk: Habakkuk 2:18-The Lord Ridicules Idolatry and the Idolater-Lesson # 32
Are you and I free? If we are free, then we are sons and daughters of the Most High. Or, are you an idolator and don't even know it?
Idolator. Sorceress. Harlot. As far as wicked women go, Jezebel set the standard for which all women would be judged for thousands of years following her death. Her story is immortalized in the Bible, serving as a cautionary tale for those who would turn their back on God. In this episode, we examine the historical figure behind the tale. Jezebel was a Phoenician princess, married to King Ahab of Israel and (probably) his Queen Consort. When she came to Israel, she brought her Gods and her political aptitude with her. Naturally, the men who wrote her story weren't happy about it. Also in this episode we discuss the concerning status of rabid dogs running around Ancient Israel and learn the inspiration behind our new favorite Commandment: thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's grapes. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultdamsels/support

The 20-year-old artist captured national attention in 2018 as one of the standout stars of ABC's American Idol, kicking off the season with a stunning audition performance of her own extraordinary composition, “21st Century Machine,” immediately winning over judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry, who applauded her a “genius songwriter.” 2019 brought her remarkable solo debut EP, THE SAD VEGAN, highlighted by the moving pop anthem “Prom Queen.” The track, which exploded across all platforms, was named one of TIME's “5 Songs You Need To Listen To This Week,” and landed Catie a spot on Idolator's “On The Verge: 40 Artists To Watch In 2020.” Heartbroken and Milking It follows a string of increasingly well received releases including last year's “One Day.” The track arrived alongside an exclusive premiere and interview with Turner on Philadelphia's WPVI-TV/6ABC and was quickly met with applause from such national outlets as American Songwriter, which wrote, “‘One Day' is an elegant, clear example of how Turner's down-to-earth feelings and every day experiences haven't gotten lost in favor of topics or sounds that are more aggressive, trendy, or edgy, solely to surprise the millions now listening and watching.”Catie – who made a surprise return to American Idol earlier this year (watch it HERE) – also recently launched Friends Without Benefits, a new podcast covering the latest in entertainment, celebrity news, and what it's like living in a dysfunctional household with her co-hosts Ryan Temple and Elizabeth Lerch. Imagine being on TikTok and throwing out a riff, then two people from that post picking it up and it turning into your next single as an artist! Well thats what happened with Shaylen with her latest original track Do Si Do, some super cool southern country vibes with the LA pop dance beats. Shaylen leaves a mark on pop by casually dropping the sort of lines you get tattooed somewhere scandalous or reserve for a drunk DM. Unafraid, unapologetic, and unfiltered, she'll put a boring ex on blast in one breath and open up about her deepest insecurities in the next. Yet, she sets gleefully pins those confessions to a defiant soundtrack of R&B, pop, and alternative across her debut EP Highs & Lows and the buzzing 2019 single “Sprite.” Posting up over 10 million streams within a year and receiving praise from Billboard, Just Jared, Hollywood Life, Popdust, and Idolator who pegged her as “on the brink of a major breakthrough,” the Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter turns heads in 2020 with a series of singles and her forthcoming full-length debut album for Republic Records. We had the pleasure of interviewing Wrabel over Zoom video! The much-anticipated debut full-length album from Wrabel, ‘these words are all for you', will drop on Sept. 24 via Big Gay Records/Nettwerk, ushering into the world the next chapter from one of modern music's most celebrated, versatile, powerhouse songwriters and rising artists. Also today Wrabel has announced a short, intimate run of live dates, the nothing but the piano tour, which includes a stop at NYC's Le Poisson Rouge and an album release show at LA's The Regent Theater this late summer/early fall. Wrabel will also perform this Sunday (6.06) at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as part of the OutLoud: Raising Voices festival. The new album is a refined, masterfully written and cathartically performed collection that is 11 years in the making. Whether it's on tracks like the Billboard-applauded “good”, the beautifully orchestrated “wish you well” (about the “tug of war” of letting go of past loves), the achingly reminiscent and sonically vast “london”, the hauntingly sparse “don't pick up the phone” or the new single “nothing but the love” (whose video drops today), ‘these words are all for you' showcases what has made Wrabel a go-to for heart-shattering slice-of-life songwriting about finding love, losing it, and discovering oneself throughout the journey.“I can't believe this is my debut album. It's been years in the making. The oldest song is around eight years old, and the newest, just a few months,” said Wrabel about the lifespan of the album's creation. “I poured everything into this record and I am just so proud of it. I feel so lucky to have been able to make it with people so close to me and as an independent artist on my own label partnered with Nettwerk. I always thought my first record would be a break-up record, since the first time I started making it it very much was. This album is filled with love. Hope. True stories and true feelings. I hope me sharing in this way helps even one person feel understood, feel better, feel like they're not alone, and it offers hope that love will come and bring the healing powers it holds.”The new video for “nothing but the love” (directed by Michael Thomas and featuring dancer Layne Willis) is gorgeously choreographed and feels like a spiritual reawakening. Watch HERE.Of the video, Wrabel said “Michael Thomas was such a pleasure to work with on this video. And Layne Willis, my goodness. I feel so lucky to have gotten to witness your incredible talent up close. This song is so close to my heart. The only song I wrote by myself on the record. With Michael's direction and Layne's emotive movement, we wanted to show that someone or something is showing me how to express myself, showing me the flow of expression. To mirror the love I am so grateful to have found.”Wrabel's resume speaks for itself. He has toured alongside and collaborated with P!nk, has co-writing/performance credits alongside the likes of Kesha, Marshmello, Celeste, Backstreet Boys, Ellie Goulding, Louis Tomlinson, Louis the Child, Wafia, Cash Cash, and more. He's released four previous EPs, has racked up 265 million streams across all DSP platforms, and his song “The Village” has become an LGBTQ+ anthem. Over the past few years, his “knife-to-the-heart” (Idolator) songwriting has led to him becoming “one of Hollywood's finest songwriters for a decade” (American Songwriter), earned him a performance spot on the national NBC TODAY stage and had Billboard saying that Wrabel is “ready for his breakthrough”.We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing AJ Mitchell over Zoom video! You’ll find Belleville, IL about six hours south of Chicago. It often resembles a ghost town with its many hollowed-out and abandoned factories, marathon winters, and endless cornfields. From the outside, it might not seem like the perfect launchpad for a future pop star, but AJ Mitchell proudly calls this place home. Long before notching 1 billion-plus streams, selling out shows, and performing on television, the singer and songwriter grew up in this small and unassuming Midwest town. Now, he doesn’t forget where he came from on his full-length debut album, Skyview [Epic Records]—named for Belleville’s lone drive-in theater. Since emerging in 2018, AJ Mitchell has consistently asserted himself as pop’s most dynamic new leading man. Averaging over 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he impressively leaped past the 1-billion stream mark within three years. In addition to being named a Vevo LIFT artist and MTV Push artist, Variety championed him on its “Young Hollywood” 2020 list. Beyond acclaim from Billboard, Idolator, Highsnobiety, and Seventeen, he delivered show-stopping performances at the MTV VMAs and on The Today Show and Good Day New York. In 2019, his Slow Dance EP yielded the gold-selling title track “Slow Dance” [feat. Ava Max]. Including the latter, he has logged four songs on the Top 40 at Pop Radio thus far. Between collaborating with everyone from Steve Aoki to Rich The Kid, he assembled his full-length debut Skyview throughout 2020 with the legendary Mike Dean as Executive Producer. He takes flight on the first single “One More Fight.” We want to hear from you! The moving track is joined by a lyric video, streaming now HERE.“’Play God’ is a sad song about not being able to fix a relationship and how the memories of places and sounds are triggered to one person; the type of song you listen to on a road trip and pretend you are a different person to,” Catie shared. “I wrote it because I was trying to fix a relationship but realized I had exhausted all my options and needed someone else to meet me, I couldn’t do the entire relationship maintenance by myself. Hence it being a sad song. I hope you guys like it as much as I do

Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing Jordan Suaste over Zoom video! Today, Jordan Suaste shares the bittersweet but beautifully feel-good video for his new single “Patience.” An intimate look at unrequited love, “Patience” showcases the pure vulnerability and effortless charisma that audiences have come to expect from the 19-year-old singer/songwriter, who first made waves with his breakthrough hit “Body.” Check out the video for “Patience” HERE. Directed by Brent Campanelli (an L.A.-based filmmaker/photographer known for his work with artists like Ashe), the video for “Patience” finds Suaste alone at a dinner table set for two, complete with lit candles and a vase full of red roses. Over the course of the R&B-laced and irresistibly catchy track, the video follows Suaste through a series of reflective moments: listening to vinyl with his headphones on, daydreaming in his bedroom, dancing poolside, gazing into the bathroom mirror and turning his toothbrush into a make-believe microphone. Although the video perfectly captures the lonesome mood at the heart of “Patience,” Suaste infuses every shot with his radiant energy and endearing presence. Says Suaste, “’Patience’ is about being over someone’s bullshit. It’s about feeling lonely, but instead of just sulking, it’s a song about taking charge, setting boundaries and knowing when enough is enough and that’s what I wanted the video to show. Of course there’s a little bit of sadness, but for the most part the idea was to keep it kinda boppy and light hearted. I’m so excited to finally get to share it with everyone!”Wonderland says, “Patience” is “layered with smooth honeyed vocals and fresh charisma, the 19-year-old multi-instrumentalist draws us in instantly and weaves together a story of unrequited love and vulnerability.” “Patience” is the latest deeply personal visual from Suaste, who premiered the official video for “Body” in September. A poignant meditation on empowerment and freedom, the “Body” video helped bring even greater success to Suaste’s breakthrough hit — an early-2020 release that appeared on Spotify’s Viral 50 charts in 22 countries (reaching #3 in the U.S. and #8 on the Global Viral 50 chart) and landed on major playlists like Spotify’s Pop Rising and Apple Music’s New in Pop. Suaste also earned acclaim from outlets like Idolator (who named him “one of 2020’s most exciting newcomers”) and Flaunt (who praised him for “inject[ing] honesty, vulnerability and authenticity into his lyrics…pairing his truths with smooth comforting vocals”).With the arrival of “Body” and “Hookup Culture,” Suaste introduced a much-needed new voice into today’s pop landscape. On the strength of those DIY-produced tracks, Suaste quickly amassed a global following drawn to his detailed honesty — an element that goes beyond surface-level vulnerability to reveal rarely-spoken truths about self-image and self-worth. Having penned his first song at the age of five, Suaste dropped out of school at 16 and soon started posting original songs on Instagram. As he honed his songwriting craft, he linked up with musician/pianist Jake Ostler and Ostler’s friend Jaxon Garrick, a self-taught producer. Written by Suaste with production from Ostler and Garrick, “Hookup Culture” was released in May 2020 and immediately drew attention for its bittersweet takedown of toxicity in modern dating. Just two weeks later, he delivered “Body” and saw his audience grow exponentially — garnering over 50,000 YouTube subscribers in just over a month and surpassing 500K TikTok followers — as fans instantly adopted its message of renewed strength and resilience. Thanks to the unstoppable momentum of his first two singles (as well as the gorgeously sparse “Body (Acoustic),” released in July), Suaste has already built a devoted fanbase who’ve come to rely on their community as a uniquely safe space: a testament to his genuine open-heartedness, as well as his commitment to total transparency.Suaste is currently working on new music and moving forward with his mission of inspiring others to own their sensitivity, and fully embrace the beauty in being unapologetically yourself. We had the pleasure of interviewing Maggie Lindemann over Zoom video!Coming less than a month after her first release of 2020, pop favorite Maggie Lindemann is back with a new track in “GASLIGHT! (feat. Siiickbrain).” Maggie also announced the January 22, 2021 release of her debut EP Paranoia, which will arrive via Caroline Records and her own label, swixxzaudio.“’GASLIGHT!’ is a song about taking back the power after someone has tried to gaslight and manipulate you. It’s a big F+++ off to that person….HA! This song was written so quickly and was really a freestyle between myself and Caroline (siiickbrain). This song was super cathartic to write and sing,” says Maggie of the track.“GASLIGHT! (feat. Siiickbrain)” is the continuation of Maggie’s growth as an artist – it’s a pop-infused rock track that lets both artists shine. Its release coincides with the unveiling of new limited edition merchandise on shopmaggielindemann.com. Items include face masks, crop t-shirts, hoodies, t-shirts, trucker hats, dad hats and more.Since her 2015 debut, Maggie Lindemann has quietly emerged as one of pop’s most subversive forces. Without a filter, her uncompromising approach drove the breakout single “Pretty Girl” to platinum status and over 1 billion streams. Maggie followed that success with anthems such as “Obsessed” (64.6 million Spotify streams) and “Couple of Kids” (38.3 million Spotify streams). 2019 capped off with “Friends Go” [feat. Travis Barker], which Ones To Watch described as “an electrifying, almost retro pop track.” 2019 also brought a scare in Malaysia with immigration (she wound up in jail, on house arrest and standing trial twice—due to a visa issue). The experience proved life changing as upon her return to the US, Maggie turned her feelings towards more new music. At that point, she held absolutely nothing back in the studio and created her forthcoming EP.Along the way, she also successfully launched her SWIXXZ clothing line and recently introduced her own podcast, swixxzaudio which helped Maggie combat the lonliness of quarantine. At 22 years of age, Maggie has truly uncovered her voice as a songwriter and injected a fierce dose of honesty regarding anxieties, obsessions, and insecurities into her new material. Her most recent track “Knife Under My Pillow” has already amassed over a million streams since its recent release. Idolator said of the song “Maggie Lindemann makes a welcome return to the New Music Friday lineup with a winning pop/rock experiment.”We want to hear from you! File under “mellifluous.” That's how Los Angeles' Powell Aguirre likes to think of the music he makes as Surf Mesa. It's electronic, but full of organic texture. It's rooted in dance, but sounds best by the light of the full moon. It's sweet, but also thoughtful. In other words, as Surf puts it, “music for good feels.” That phrase certainly sums up his biggest hit to date, “ily (i love you baby)” featuring Emilee, a tropically tinged bop that was born on TikTok, but quickly conquered listening platforms around the world, amassing over820million combined streams to date, topping U.S. and Global Viral Charts, and debuting on Top 40 radio. Early press has included Rolling Stone, Billboard, HITS, Idolator, Soundazed and Fresh Music Freaks. Though he's only 20, Surf has logged an impressive number of hours honing his craft. He grew up in Sammamish, Washington, outside Seattle, where an older brother hooked him up with FL Studio –when Surf was in third grade. The summer after his senior year,Surf broke his leg and was bedridden for months. Unexpectedly, that time stuck at home paid off in the form of an EP, titled bedroom, of course. When the cast came off, he wasted no time moving in with musician friends in Los Angeles. Then one night scrolling TikTok, he came across Batesville, Arkansas' Emilee Flood playing an acoustic cover of Frankie Valli's 1967 hit “Can't Take My Eyes Off You.” Captivated by her honeyed voice, Surf dropped the audio into his DAW and, within hours, had posted his remixon SoundCloud. Soon, label reps were blowing up his phone. He signed with Astralwerks. There's no shortage of collaborations in the works, beginning with Surf's remix of Marshmello and Halsey's “Be Kind” and his new single, “Somewhere” ft. Gus Dapperton. While the electronic landscape evolves at a dizzying speed, Surf knows what he wants from his own music. He calls it “electronic alternative”–a style that balances digital textures with piano, guitar, and even acoustic drums, and focuses on songwriting as much as sick beats. It's catchy. It's chill. It's mellifluous. We chatted with Surf Mesa about his music and future in the music industry and much more. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Since 2017, he has generated half-a-billion combined streams and views, garnered a gold plaque for “Hurt Somebody” with Julia Michaels, and launched sold-out headline tours in North America, Europe, and the UK. His 2019 full-length debut, Busyhead, attracted acclaim from Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, NYLON, Idolator, Ones To Watch and more. Along the way, he performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Today Show. As he breached radio airwaves and infiltrated popular playlists, he quietly penned songs at a feverish pace. He unveiled another side of himself on the five-track Cape Elizabeth EP, which he completed within six days in April 2020. The opener and first single “Troubled Mind” pairs sparse delicately plucked acoustic guitar with a soft and soothing vocal. “When you hear Cape Elizabeth, I want you to feel like you can escape for a second,” he leaves off. “I want you to feel recognized and know your thoughts aren't scary or crazy. I hope you're drawn into the stories and connect to the characters in the lyrics. Relax, chill out, listen to this, and look out the window. This is my ‘Thank You' to the fans who stuck around, came to shows, watched my livestreams, and listened.” Please go and follow Noah Kahan at: Facebook: http://facebook.com/noahkahanmusic Instagram: http://instagram.com/noahkahanmusic Twitter: http://twitter.com/noahkahan Spotify: https://republic.lnk.to/NoahKahanSpYD SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/noahkahan *** You can follow me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/MKLikesMusic --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/matthias-kaseorg/support

Within two short years, music quite literally carried 22-year-old singer, songwriter, and artist Noah Kahan around the world—a long way from his native Strafford, VT (pop. 1,045) and the 133-acre tree farm where he resides. On the trip, the alternative troubadour notched an international hit in the form of “Hurt Somebody” [feat. Julia Michaels], which tallied 200 million-plus streams in the span of a year, went triple-platinum in Australia and gold in six other countries, and was the third most played song on Australian Top 40 radio in all of 2018. Additionally, he performed the single on Late Night with Stephen Colbert during his late-night television debut. As Noah steadily averaged over 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, his songs “Young Blood” and “False Confidence” racked up millions of streams and he sold out tours in North America, Europe, and the UK. Not to mention, he garnered acclaim from Billboard, Stereogum, Clash, Idolator, and more. In the midst of this whirlwind, he assembled his highly anticipated upcoming debut album. The first single “Mess” illuminates his marked growth as a songwriter and storyteller by way of its biting lyrics and undeniable sing-a-long. The song underscores a heartwarming and often hilarious portrait of hometown longing.Follow Sidewalk Talk:https://twitter.com/sidewalktalkshw (all updates)https://instagram.com/sidewalktalkpop See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Bombshell Radio Radio Guest Mix - Empathy TestOur second featured guest mix this week is Empathy Test. We've been fans of this group since the first song we were sent. Every track we receive always makes the Addictions Fix Mix , and quite often our Top 10 Countdown. We were thrilled when we contacted Empathy Test and they immediately accepted our request to put together something special. I personally would have liked to have seen some Empathy Test on this mix, and contacted them about the same, they returned "You asked for likes and influences -seemed a bit self indulgent to include ourselves in that." So how could I argue? If you like this compilation then do your ears a huge favour and check out Empathy Test. http://www.empathytest.com/ Since Empathy Test's conception in January 2013, the unsigned London Electronic Pop duo has produced two stunning, four-track EPs: Losing Touch (Feb. 2014) and Throwing Stones (Dec. 2014), which have won them both critical acclaim and a legion of dedicated fans worldwide. Their music has been featured by the likes of MTV's Catfish, XFM, KCRW, BBC Introducing, Clash,Idolator, Earmilk, PopMatters and many more. In 2015, Empathy Test booked and co-headlined their own UK tour, performed to an audience of 1,000+ at Wave-Gotik-Treffen Festival in Germany, headlined Riba Rocks Festival in Spain and shared stages with everyone from Bombay Bicycle Club to The Japanese House. In 2016, they released a new double a-side single, Demons | Seeing Stars and joined Mesh and Aesthetic Perfection on a two week tour of Europe, performing in front of audiences of 400-800 a night. In December, they also joined VNV Nation at the last two nights of the Automatic Empire tour, playing to over 1,200 on the final night in Heidelberg (Germany).Empathy Test plans to release a second single, 'By My Side', on 17th February 2017. PSY's two new songs may very well be a shallow boast on hooking up with hot chicks in his 40s, but we discuss possible subversive themes behind the music. Post production note: it is more likely that "New Face" was filmed at the Venetian in Macau - not Las Vegas. Peter was tired and confused. Acclaimed singer/songwriter and actress Chloe Lattanzi releases her debut solo album, NO PAIN (co-written and co-produced with Jarrad Rogers), the follow-up to her #1 Billboard Dance Club hit, “You Have To Believe,” the acclaimed collaboration with her mother, international superstar Olivia Newton-John. Chloe began the project when she was signed to Warner Australia at the early age of 17, as a creative outlet to express her personal battle with body dysmorphia and anorexia. Although some leaked demos created excitement for the project, it was eventually put on hold as Chloe addressed her inner demons. “When I was making NO PAIN thirteen years ago, it was ‘never good enough' in my mind. Perfection was important to me. Now, the state-of-mind I'm in, I can hear the beauty and the vulnerability of the journey I was taking when I was making the album, and I wanted to share it with the world. I'm proud of it now.” Mike Wass, writing for Idolator says, “We've been blessed by the occasional stand-alone single (2010's “Wings And A Gun” and 2011's “Play With Me”) and a club-conquering duet with her mom. But none of those tracks rival the greatness of (NO PAIN). Chloe has a distinctive voice and, more importantly, something to say.” Chloe's Billboard debut, “You Have to Believe,” became the very first #1 hit on the Billboard Dance Club chart by a mother/daughter team. The music video inspired former Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter, to create a role for her in his successful zombie film, Dead 7, which premiered earlier this year on the SyFy Channel. In 2008, Chloe garnered national attention on the MTV reality show Rock the Cradle, where she was the last female singer standing, coming in third in the finale.

S: Hello, audience. Nice to see you again. This is music bang bang. I'm your friend Sunny.T: I'm Taylor. Hi, Sunny, have you ever seen Home?S: Of course I have. It's really hot recently and many people around me like it. The character is so lovely and lively that I lost myself in it.T: En.. So do I! It attracts me a lot. So today, let's go through some music of Home.S: Come on, I can't wait. 垫乐:Rihanna-As Real As You and Me T: It's my favorite singer Rihanna!S: Yes, can you make a brief introduce of your super star?T: Rihanna is not only a singer, but also a actor and a model. She was born in Barbados and developed in American.S: Actually. is a gentle one with her appealing voice. It decorates the movie. It seemed that the sad melody is not match the cute aliens, but the music appeared suitably. Also, Rihanna's voice is throughout the whole movie, because she dubbed for a girl.Kiesza-Cannonball S: Wow, It's extremely passionate right?T: Yes, the fire is burning. It's… It's just like a cannonball. And the atmosphere is high enough.S: You're right! How did you know that cannonball is just the name of the song. I think this kind of music is proper for Home. You guess, the aliens are crazier with the 《Cannonball》rang. During the music, they run faster, laugh louder, live happier.在浩瀚的宇宙中,四处漂泊的波波星族群,躲避瓜星人的追击,经历了种种搞笑的遭遇,终于发现地球是个完美的家园,于是便占领了地球。S:It's Rihanna again!T: You are right! The song is called “Dancing in the dark”, it's kind of Dance-pop music. Rihanna with Jim Parsons and Jennifer Lopez also stared as the lead role in “Home”. Rihanna even created a concept album for the film! S: Wow, they are all world-famous stars, by the way, I think they did well in the film! They are perfect for the role!T: Absolutely! But I like Jim's dubbing best! I love him since he acted “the Big Bang Theory”, I saw the movie because of him!S: Well, ok, just calm down, let's continue to shake with the song!Dancing in the dark T: The song you are listening to is from Jennifer Lopez, the name is “Feel the light”, It is a ballad song and the lyrics is so positive, can let people full of hope, “there's no more waiting ,we're still worth saving, feel the light, shining in the dark of night, remember what we forgot, I know it's a long shot, but we're bringing it all back.” I think it's also the theme of the film.S: Yeah, all the roles in this film are full of positive energy. Bianca Gracie of Idolator wrote, “the featherlight tune is a beautiful and delicate mid-tempo that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.”Jennifer的声音轻柔空灵,但是这首歌却能深深地烙印在我们的心里,实在是一首佳作Feel the lightT: Ok, it's all for today's program, see you next week, bye byeTowards the sunT: The last song we will share with you is “Towards the sun”, it's also from Rihanna. The song is a mid-tempo pop ballad with R&B music influences and features positive and optimistic lyrics.S: I like this song very much, it also received positive reviews from critics. Commercially the song was a moderate success peaking at 76 on the UK Singles Chart and 22 on the French singles chart.T: What an excellent performance! Let's enjoy it!
Denyse calls to share about her new single, Mr. Hipster premiering online at Idolator.com.
After an exciting arrival with a viral video to accompany his debut single, "Human Man," beguiling new pop artist, Johnny Stimson, shows no signs of slowing down. Stimson has since unleashed three additional hits with "Daddy's Money," "Here We Go Again" and "SO.GOOD." All four tracks rose organically to the top of The Hype Machine's highly respected Pop Chart and, after a personal hat tip on their socials, are proving that he is here to make "major waves" (Idolator) on the pop scene. In the past year alone, Stimson has been featured on GRAMMY.com, MTV Buzzworthy, Refinery29, Pop Justice, Nylon Magazine, and dozens of high profile blogs and web outlets. GRAMMY.com calls his songs "elegant," with the "theatrical yet sincere vulnerability of great pop." His music is "infectious" (MTV Buzzworthy), and "makes you want to groove out" (Baeble Music). Influenced by artists ranging from Prince to Justice, Stimson possesses a unique, stratospheric voice that captures the soul of a Motown favorite and the contemporary style and appeal of Daft Punk. Stimsonʼs songwriting harnesses the cornerstones of hit records – strong vocals, enticing melodies, and memorable hooks. Johnny's songs have been featured in national promotion during 2013 for ABC's new series "Trophy Wife," The CW's premiere of "The Vampire Diaries," and DIRECTV's signature first original series "Rogue." On the tour front, Stimson headlined DIRECTV & Aloft Hotels' "Road to Rogue" tour, a national Living Water tour across 17 college locations, and a Southeast US tour across 7 states. He has been a featured performer to packed venues at multiple SXSW showcases, and has played to full houses at Gibson Showroom and Brooklyn Bowl in New York, Living Social's 918F Street in Washington D.C., and House of Blues and School Night at Bardot in Los Angeles.
