What if the key to stronger leadership, deeper team connections, and a more engaged workplace wasn't another corporate training—but a well-timed joke? This week on Everyday Injustice we talk with Jamarr Brown, a seasoned campaign strategist, proven political executive and commentator. Jamarr serves as the Executive Director of Color Of Change PAC where he leads the fundraising and program operations to support candidates that will bring about essential and transformative changes within the criminal justice system. In the second Trump administration, President Trump initiated a series of executive actions aimed at dismantling Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across federal agencies and contractors. The Trump administration justified the rescission by labeling DEI programs as “radical and wasteful,” asserting that they fostered preferential treatment and deviated from merit-based hiring practices. The impact of these executive orders extended beyond the federal government, influencing private sector entities and educational institutions. Many organizations, in response to the administration's stance, began reevaluating or scaling back their DEI efforts to align with the new federal directives. Listen as we discuss with Jamarr the importance of these moves and the importance of DEI in general, and the misperceptions of the programs that lead to the rollback by the right.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver coach Troy Walters joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham, to talk about how his receivers have stepped up to the plate to start the season and Jamarr's recording breaking performance against the Cardinals. With the absence of Tee Higgins for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals the Bengals receivers needed to step up in a must-win game and that's exactly what they did. Starting with the obvious standout, Jamarr Chase had a field day on Sunday setting a Bengals reception record with 15 catches for 192 yards and three touchdowns. It was awesome to see Joe Burrow and Jamarr reconnect as they did for the past two seasons. Jamarr won AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his dominant performance but another Bengals receiver played a pivotal role in the Bengals Week 5 win, Trenton Irwin. Irwin had eight catches for 60 yards and also had some great punt returns to set up the Bengals offense with great field position. Irwin is used to this role, doing the same last season when Jamarr had to miss time with a hip injury he has proved to be a valuable piece to this Bengals team. With Tee's availability still up in the air for Week 6 against the Seahawks the Bengals wide receivers will need to step up again in what feels like another must-win heading into the bye. Millions of college football fans across the nation have been left in the dark after Disney pulled ESPN from all Charter Spectrum cable subscribers prior to the Florida-Utah kickoff last week. The two media giants are duking it out over the future of the cable and streaming industry while the viewers are the ones who suffer. Could this feud lead to the downfall of the one-time worldwide leader in sports? Jason and an all-star cast of “Fearless” contributors — Steve Kim, T.J. Moe, and special guest JaMarr John Johnson — discuss the deep-rooted implications of Disney's dispute. Following Colorado's upset victory over TCU, Coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes are the talk of the sports world. Some talking heads are even talking about Deion heading to NFL coaching stardom. Jason believes it's time to pump the brakes on all the Prime Time praise. After all, it is just one game. Is Coach Prime primed for continued success, or could he be a one-hit wonder? Jason, Steve, T.J., JaMarr, and Coach Jason Brown debate the issue. In Tennessee Harmony, Anthony Walker and Virgil Walker join Jason, T.J., and JaMarr to discuss Deion and his professed faith. Is he the Mike Todd of college football? And, as a Christian, does his role extend far beyond just the Xs and Os of a football program? We want to hear from the Fearless Army!! We are thrilled to introduce our next guest, JaMarr Johnson, as we visit him at his home on the outskirts of Austin. From the moment we meet JaMarr, his presence fills the room with a vibrant energy. His physical stature, aura, and readiness for the conversation signal his readiness to shine on the show. JaMarr is not only a Marine but also a motivational speaker—a ball of energy and light.JaMarr's upbringing was far from easy. His father, a Vietnam veteran, battled with severe drug addiction and PTSD, leading him down a destructive path. This left JaMarr to navigate a challenging environment, yet despite the hardships, he remained soft-hearted, warm, and compassionate.Born to parents from New York City, JaMarr's life took a tragic turn when his father, in a case of mistaken identity, was shot and killed. Left to be raised by his mother, who faced her own battles with drug addiction, JaMarr found himself in the care of his grandmother until the age of 12. Against all odds, his mother exhibited incredible determination to turn her life around and reclaim her family. However, the impact of his tumultuous early years had a profound effect on JaMarr. From a young age, he possessed a keen awareness of his surroundings, becoming hyper-vigilant and questioning the intricacies of life, God, religion, and spirituality.JaMarr faced difficulties in school as well. Once his mother managed to rebuild their lives, they settled in Spanish East Harlem, where JaMarr's mastery of the English language made him stand out, drawing both admiration and ridicule. Enduring teasing and ridicule for his intellect and articulation, he attended multiple schools until a single person intervened and made a difference. This intervention opened doors for JaMarr, propelling him forward. It culminated in a remarkable 14-year career in the Marines, where he rose to the rank of naval officer before retiring in 2012.Following his military service, JaMarr embarked on his dream of pursuing comedy in California for nine years while blending it with his blossoming career as a speaker. His multifaceted personality is a blend of depth, complexity, and simplicity, making him a captivating individual.Join us as JaMarr sits down with The Jar and fearlessly shares his incredible story. Through his experiences, he takes us on a journey that encompasses resilience, self-discovery, and the pursuit of dreams. JaMarr's presence and insights will leave a lasting impression on our listeners, as we delve into the many layers of his life and the profound impact it has had on his journey. Mike Bazadona & Steve France Talk with Jamarr Reid about the BRRRR Method. The BRRRR method is a real estate investing strategy that stands for buy, rehab, rent, refinance, and repeat . The goal of the BRRRR method is to buy a property, fix it up, rent it out, and then refinance the loan to pull out your original investment plus any additional equity. Then, you repeat the process with a new property. The BRRRR method can be an effective way to build wealth through real estate investing. By refinancing the loan after you've already added value to the property through renovations, you can access more capital to reinvest in new properties. This strategy can be particularly helpful for investors who are looking to quickly build a portfolio of rental properties. If you're considering using the BRRRR method to invest in real estate, it's important to do your research and understand the process. You'll need to find a good deal on a property, have the ability to finance the purchase and renovations, and be prepared to be a landlord. But if you're willing to put in the work, the BRRRR method can be a powerful tool for building wealth through real estate.

Growing up, both of his parents struggled with drug addiction. JaMarr's father, who was killed when JaMarr was nine, became addicted to heroin after returning from the Vietnam War, where he'd fought as a marine. His mother, who was addicted to crack cocaine, saw the pain and suffering her addiction caused and pledged to live her life differently. She started attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings and bringing a teenaged JaMarr with her. “I would see her share her story very vulnerably and very emotionally, and I would see people transformed by her speaking,” he recalls. “I knew that I wanted to do that one day for people with my stories.” Life in the 1990s New York City, though, threatened to set JaMarr down a different path. Held back twice, he described himself as an angry and scared teen who, although he was naturally gifted in school, “wasn't motivated to do schoolwork. I was motivated with staying alive.” That was when a New York superintendent noticed JaMarr and decided to transfer him into a specialized high school devoted to communication, both written and oral. That act, he recalls, was where he shone — learning-driven all the more home for him at 18 when he spoke in front of 2,000 people at New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel. Since then, JaMarr's path has taken many turns. After an accomplished 14-year career in the military, he found his calling in a decidedly different public speaking format — stand-up comedy. A self-fashioned “entrepremedian,” he's merged his natural talent for words and humor with his business acumen. And today, as Chief Marketing Officer of Club Nirvana, he's applying all of those skills toward achieving a new goal: transforming the cannabis industry. In this episode of “Good Dudes Grow,” Gary and JaMarr talk about what inspired JaMarr as a comedian-entrepreneur to take on cannabis, what inspired him first to enter entrepreneurship while stationed in Japan as a naval officer, and the power of putting yourself out there. What You'll Learn: Why, as a marketer, JaMarr says there's “an audience for everyone” (and how he found his on ABC, NBC, and MTV, among other places) Why he believes in the importance of “flow state,” and how he's seen it manifest in comedy, in business, and the military What sets Club Nirvana apart in the cannabis, CBD, health, and wellness spaces And much more! Favorite Quote: “I can't wait to take the cannabis industry farther than it's ever been with creative, introspective, artistic, and hilarious content that educates people and shows them that hey, this thing should have never been illegal.” – JaMarr Johnson Connect With JaMarr: Instagram Twitter LinkedIn __________________________________________________________________________ Gary Roberts, the host of the Good Dudes Grow podcast, is the founder and CEO of Pure Body Zen, a company based not only around creating and selling high-quality CBD products, but one that is on a mission to change the landscape on how mental health and addiction are treated.
