First conceived in 1956 by Michael Bond, the marmalade-loving immigrant from Peru has become an iconic British cultural figure – treasured for his chaotic nature, impeccable manners, and proximity to royalty. So, how did Paddington become the spokesbear for Britain, crossing political divides in the country, and one of the most commercially successful characters in the world?Tom Gatti is joined by New Statesman contributor Amelia Tait, and Paddington screenwriter Jon Foster.Read: The triumph of Paddington Inc Hosted on Acast. Hey everyone, welcome back to another review and today, we'll be discussing the sequel to one of the most consistent franchises in films right now. Paddington and Paddington 2 are both some of the best family movies of the last decade. The thought of doing a third film is definitely terrifying because of how it could affect this franchise's track record but also because Paul King wasn't coming back for this third entry, although he still has a story credit. He went off to work in the Chocolate Factory. As I'm now studying in the UK, I had the chance to see Paddington in Peru. Does this movie cement the Paddington trilogy as one of the best of all-time or is the absence of Paul King felt? Find out in this review!Paddington in Peru:Directed by: Dougal WilsonScreenplay by: Mark Burton and Jon Foster & James LamontScreen Story by: Paul King and Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton"Paddington Bear" Created by: Michael BondProduced by: Rosie AlisonExecutive Producers: Jeffrey Clifford, Ron Halpern, Paul King, Naoya Kinoshita, Dan Macrae, Anna Marsh, Tim WellspringMusic by: Dario MarianelliCinematography by: Erik WilsonEditing by: Úna Ní DhonghaíleCasting by: Robert SterneProduction Design by: Andy KellyCostume Design by: Charlotte WalterCast: Ben Whishaw, Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Samuel Joslin, Madeleine Harris Synopsis: Paddington travels to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With all the tragedy happening in the world every day, it's quite easy to lose hope in humanity. However, as leaders, we should be the first to model that optimism so that others can be inspired. In this episode of Leading Boldly into the Future, Anne Pratt is joined by John Foster Pedley, dean and director of Henley Business School Africa. John invites us to rethink “tragic optimism” and use it as paradigm for leadership. He also talks about the lasting value of kindness and paying it forward, the importance of collective intelligence, and why Nelson Mandela's anger can be inspiring. Tune in for more!Love the show? In this SECOND EPISODE of Season 3, LEAD PODCAST is back with an interview of DAVID and JON FOSTER from KILN COFFEE BAR from Downtown Grand Junction! Two amazing men of God who have a passion to serve people in our community with the love of Jesus in a cup of coffee! Check them out at 326 Main Street! Hop over to their Instagram and give them a follow @kilncoffeebar and on Facebook at Kiln Coffee Bar!On LEAD PODCAST, our motto is: LIFE. LEADERSHIP. MINISTRY. We believe we do LIFE through these podcasts, as believers we are called and encourage to do LIFE with one another (Hebrews 10:24-25). We are Jesus followers are called to be leaders and in a role of LEADERSHIP. This belongs to a call that Jesus gives to us by laying down our lives and picking up our crosses to follow Him daily (Mark 8:34-35). As Jesus said, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45, NIV). Our role of LEADERSHIP begins with serving others and serving Jesus.Through the empowerment and life led by Holy Spirit, we believe that there is a call of MINISTRY upon each believer's life. A call of spreading the good news of Jesus and proclaiming His name to all nations (Matthew 28:18-20). A role of MINISTRY looks like being with Jesus, spreading Jesus, proclaiming Jesus with great effect. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes..." (Romans 1:16, NIV).Be blessed in the living presence of Jesus through the empowerment and indwelling of Holy Spirit as we continue to reveal the heart of the Father to every tribe, tongue, and nation under heaven!Support the show (https://www.canyonviewchurch.com/online-giving)

Jon Foster is the President of Marathon Industries, a manufacturing company known for creating flat-free wheels. Recognizing the potential in a nearly bankrupt business marked the beginning of a journey that Jon started with his father over twenty years ago. After taking over the struggling organization and growing it into the enterprise it is today, Jon decided to sell. However, he chose to remain with the company in a leadership role because he believes in the people working there, and he's passionate about the culture and products they've created. When he's not busy overseeing the daily operations at Marathon Industries, Jon spends his time relaxing with his family and exploring the Pacific Northwest. As a health and outdoor enthusiast, Jon has summited the 14,411 feet of Mt. Rainier and managed to cycle the Tour de France on two separate occasions. He's a graduate of the University of Washington, where he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. In this episode… Whether you're just starting out or you've been at it for years, running a business can be hard. When things are constantly changing, what solves today's problems might not work tomorrow. So how can you make smart decisions when you don't have all the information? Preparing for what lies ahead might seem impossible when you can't see what's coming, but planning isn't always about forecasting the future. Sometimes you just need to accept that surprises are inevitable and hit the ground running when the unexpected happens. Also, a little bit of resourcefulness might come in handy. In this week's episode of the Measure Success Podcast, Carl J. Cox sits down with Jon Foster, the President of Marathon Industries, to talk about growth, contingency plans, and finding opportunities. Jon explains how he took a struggling business on the brink of bankruptcy and turned it into a company supplying products to some of the industry's biggest retailers. Plus, Jon and Carl J. Cox reminisce about their college days together and agree to embark on a new adventure. Stay tuned!
