Guest: Ben Chestnut, Former CEO and Co-Founder of MailchimpIf you find yourself selling your startup, then Mailchimp co-founder Ben Chestnut has some important advice for you: Get a dog. When Intuit bought Mailchimp in 2021 for $12 billion, the company asked Ben if he wanted to stay on as CEO, but he chose to “walk off into the sunset” and let the new owners take over. After that, he estimates it took 6 to 12 months before he stopped checking his email, social media, and calendar with the same level of stress a CEO might have. Adopting a dog, he discovered, forces you to “get OK with the voices in your head."“After the acquisition, that's all I do, I walk the dog,” Ben says. “And the dog was good therapy ... No judgments from a dog.”Chapters:(01:09) - Growing slow (03:06) - The long journey (07:48) - Is money a burden? As an MSP, you're looking for ways to grow your business. One way is to acquire new clients, but this can be a long and costly process. Another way is increasing monthly recurring revenue (MRR) from existing clients. Key to this is upselling them to a higher level of service. In this episode, our host Malwarebytes Sean Dawley along with Malwarebytes Brian Thomas and Brian Kane from NerdsToGo will discuss their experiences with upselling providing tips on how to successfully upsell levels of service. There is a tremendous amount of information that has been written about the process of raising funding for startups, but for some reason, you don't see nearly as much information about the acquisition process. What are the good, the bad, or the ugly experiences? How does one get on the radar for a potential acquirer? What are the common pitfalls, etc., etc.? It seems like there are so many things that can go wrong, so it's a common question that I ask entrepreneurs for this podcast. Based on Brian's track record, it was a perfect opportunity to get some solid advice for entrepreneurs to follow, as he's been through multiple acquisitions via companies like Google and Facebook. Brian's latest startup is focused on data privacy for digital marketing, as Sourcepoint provides tools to protect consumer privacy, manage compliance and optimize revenue. In this episode of our podcast, we cover: * Brian's background story and how he got his career started in the tech industry in customer service. * His experience in leadership roles in the tech industry at DoubleClick, Admeld, and LiveRail. * The story behind Sourcepoint with his Co-Founder, Ben Barokas, and how their vision of transparency around usage of data became a reality. * The current stage of Sourcepoint and growth plans ahead. * Advice around hiring for startups and how to think about the recruiting process. * And so much more. The 2020 election was historic for its turnout, the way many Idahoans voted and the fact that it was held during a once-in-a-century pandemic. So how did things go? Chief Deputy Secretary of State Chad Houck and Ada County Clerk Phil McGrane join co-hosts Brian Kane and Scott Graf for a wide-ranging discussion on the state of Idaho elections. Recorded Nov. 18, 2020.

The Field Works Listener's Guide". Escuchar audio

Brian Kane isn't much different than most of us. Except that he did what most of us only talk about doing when we gab about opening our own brewery. Fairhope Brewery in Fairhope, Alabama has become a fixture of the community and has distribution throughout the southern part of the state. His facility is a community gathering place - open for corporate events and family friendly - and has a steady stream of regulars who come in a to catch up with each other. It's a place where everybody knows your name. And Brian's proudest achievement is that those he began with six years ago, whether customers or employees, are all still around.

We talk living in Alaska, how you decide on a pelican and the letter "F" to be your brand, getting lost in Mountain Brook and much more. Tweet #FlyEaglesFly – The Philadelphia Eagles are Minnesota Super Bowl 2018Champions! Could this Sunday be just as great with the return of Small Bites with Glenn Gross and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire RadioFebruary 11th at 635pm? Not a chance in hell, but hey, what else better do you have to do now that the Eagles aren't playing so why not tune in and have some fun with us Any Seinfeld fan will instantaneously recognized our guest this week. The Original SoupMan has gone from “No Soup for You” and now they shout “Soupman -- Soup For All” as they recently launched a new E-commerce site. We will be joined by Joseph Hagan the President and one of the owners of The Original Soupman to talk about how fans can now purchase 6-packs of the small batch, super fresh soups that are still made with the handcrafted excellence that has made these soups legendary with prices ranging from $19.99 to $24.96 all available at www.theorginalsoupman.comand delivered right to your front door. The delicious flavors include: Shrimp Bisque, filled with plump real shrimp and Orzo pasta; Lobster Bisque, brimming with succulent fresh lobster and veggie; Gluten-Free Lentil, which offers a hearty, fiber-rich meal; Chicken Gumbo, the authentic soulful southern delight; Jambalaya, made with a feisty kick and Crab and Corn Chowder, a seaside inspired fan favorite. The Original SoupMan sells its complete line of delicious soups in eco-friendly shelf stable Tetra-Pak cartons at the best supermarkets, grocery, mass market and convenience stores. The Original Soupman chooses to package in Tetra-Paks because it makes it possible to have the high quality, best tasting soups in a shelf stable package and contains No BPA compared to canning. The company also supplies soup to foodservice operations including Restaurants, Colleges, Franchises and more. In 1984, The Original Soupman opened its doors at 55th Street & 8th Avenue in Manhattan and quickly became a worldwide destination. Rated #1 by Zagat and praised by the New York Times as "Art, not Soup," it set the standard for innovation and excellence long before the famous “Seinfeld” episode made it a cultural icon. Thankfully the Eagles won; otherwise Philly may have turned towards the apocalypse. Wonder what that would look like? Well you can get a glimpse of what the post apocalypse city would have been like by going to Mad Rex– a meeting place, dining haven, and watering hole for revelers from “all walks of life.” -where SURVIVORS indulge in food + drink at an urban outpost. It's an environment where patrons are encouraged to create their own “interactive rites” through virtual reality. Where despite the fallout there's still a sense of food, culture, community and ART that still thrives. Visit a sanctuary where urbanites are encouraged to create & share their own experiences. Where the food is locally sourced, the cocktails surprise you, and you feel like this is the ultimate stop in the post apocalypse. Who ever thought the apocalypse would taste so great. They also have a VREX Lounge. Experience the virtual reality lounge (VREX) where patrons can escape the doldrums of normal life and immerse themselves in augmented reality. You can also reserve the more private Virtual Reality Chamber that comes equipped with a lounge throne, private locker, table service, and drinks served in an IV bag for easy handling. Mad Rex is the first restaurant to fully infuse VR technology into their concept in Philadelphia. A true experience to live for….Be a survivor!
