In part 2, Jaap and I discuss the development of the embryo, where consciousness begins, and speculate about what lies beyond. Jaap van der Wal born 1947 has served as Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Anatomy and Embryology at various universities and colleges in the Netherlands from 1973 (in which he received his medical degree) until 2012. As a researcher, he specialized in the functional anatomy of the Postural and Locomotor Apparatus with an emphasis on the organization of connective tissue (and later: fascia) and the significance of architecture and tensegrity in human movement and standing. Since 2009, he has contributed to modeling and research on fascia, continuously emphasizing that a one-sided anatomical approach of the body is a reductionist one that can be complemented with an architectural and a biotensegral view on the organization of the body where fascia can be considered as the 'fabric' of the body. But his primary passion has remained human embryology and morphology, in search of the meaning of the forms of the human organism. For over 25 years he has been giving courses and seminars on what he calls The Embryo in Us. One of the themes is that our body is not a spatial structure built up of parts but a lifelong process and appearance in time. That also forms, that also anatomy is behavior. That we are not the product of our bodies but that our bodies are created and maintained by ourselves. That is "The Embryo in Us": we do not only have a body, we are our body. We are a being of mind and body with mind and body as indissoluble psychosomatic unity; the whole body therefore and not just a particular organ or domain like brain or central nervous system. "With respect I can find in the embryo tentative answers to questions about the meaning of human existence". All of this comes together in the concept, endorsed by him, of the triune nature of the human body, in all directions in all dimensions and directions, as a logical consequence of the idea that we are beings of mind and body. The so-called Triune Man -[ Man is Mind, Motion, Matter (AT Still). Knowledge Bank is committed to improving the financial literacy of youth and underserved communities. We refer to these groups as “Up & Comers”. Our programs are aimed at  introducing new concepts, starting new conversations and teaching life application. We create economic hope where hope may not have existed before and we equip Up & Comers with the tools to adequately and healthily participate in free enterprise. The need for financial education targeted at youth and our solutions. Younger generations are responsible for more financial decisions than any generation before them with greater implications. Yet, there is very little preparing our young people for this monumental task. Our mission is to develop the resources that not only improve the financial literacy of our young people, but to also inspire hope to fuel their unique ambitions. We develop financial education content for kids from elementary school through college. All our educational resources are informed by the population of students which they are meant to serve.Super Money Kid Banks. The Super Money Kid bank helps young kids put money in its place literally and figuratively. The bank helps young kids develop good money skills based on 3 money habits, saving, spending and sharing. The bank includes terms and reminders which make it interactive. And we've recently developed a curriculum which enables schools and youth programs to incorporate financial education for kids within their organizations. We set a goal to equip 1,000 kids with banks by the end of the year and we're two thirds of the way there. The inspiration for knowledgeBANK. There have been 2 events in my life which have affirmed this work. First, my mom was never able to pursue her creative ambitions because entrepreneurship was too risky a proposition for a woman with 3 kids. Second, five years ago, my wife was diagnosed with a form of heart disease which altered every aspect of our lives. In June, she underwent a successful heart transplant and is doing phenomenally today. As we were fighting through her health issues, we were faced with some harsh realities and have conversations that you would not expect at 30 years old. During one of those conversations, we agreed that our circumstances would not influence our ability to live our best lives. My hope is that the work of knowledgeBANK inspires a generation of young people to see beyond their current circumstances and pursue their most unique gifts.Program outcomes. Over the last 2 years, we've helped teens save over $283,000 by designing a curriculum which the students could connect with and helping them understand that the act of saving is an investment in themselves.Learn more:  https://www.knowledgebank.money/social-impact/

Hello, and welcome back to the lead generation for financial services podcast. This week we have got a very special guest, Nicola Firth, founder and CEO of Knowledge Bank. Nicola started as a mortgage advisor before deciding to work independently for her own company which is Knowledge Bank, a mortgage criteria search system. She used to be a broker and turned into software as a service. She wanted to have everything in one place for the lenders and brokers who place mortgage business. Saving hours and even days using a product sourcing system which is simple, very intuitive, fully searchable, easy to access place. With everything in one place, it will be quicker and easier to place cases. Every lender will have their login to Knowledge Bank, they can input their criteria to showcase to all the brokers that use it in no time. Making all information readily available and crystal clear. Knowledge Bank is not just for new brokers and inexperienced ones. Even brokers with years of experience in this country who spent time researching criteria to place a case can help save a considerable amount on time. This software was purposely designed to be as simple as possible to use because people who will use it are busy, working long hours and they don't have the time to learn to use a new system. It's very intuitive and all you need to do is simply log in and start the free 30-day trial and put a case. Monthly plan at £14.99 excluding VAT with no contract, after the 30-day free trial or annually for £149.99 excluding VAT, non-refundable and a 3 month notice period. If you have a team, you can get it for £25 per month for 5 to 10 users excluding VAT with a 3 month notice period or £50 for more than 10 users. Any questions, you can reach out to her via Twitter and LinkedIn, just type knowledge bank and you will find it there. I've been playing basketball since I was a kid, but started playing the sport seriously at age 11 after going to summer camps for years. I sucked at first, but got better the more hours I put in – which grew my love of the game. The game, the people, and many of the coaches that I've worked with over the years have taught me so more than the skills of the game. They've taught me skills for life and building championship teams, along with how to apply that to business and life itself. All of which changed the course of my life for the better. Though I didn’t always learn the lessons until later on, I kept many of them logged in journals – which I still refer to often. I’ve also dived into a lot of books from basketball greats like John Wooden, Phil Jackson, Jay Bilas, and Kevin Eastman lately. I have so much to share that this will surely be the first of many episodes on the wisdom, lessons and insights one can get from basketball. I hope that you enjoy it. IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN: How my perceived shortcomings in basketball ended up being some of my greatest strength in business and life. How to re-evaluate and shift your perspective surrounding yours “gifts”.Why life is a team sport and if you’re not helping the teams around you get better you’re missing out on more success and a fulfilled life. The "3 gaps" and how to recognize which one is stopping you from creating a championship life. What 'The Knowledge Bank' is and how to know if you are depositing every day to build it up as your most valuable asset. What 'Teamness' means and why I believe it's the biggest missing piece to helping you build a successful business. The 3 parts that must be present to have championship “Teamness”The word and perspective I brought back from my trip to Africa and how it changed the way I operate in my business and life. The triangle of past, present and future and how to use each to your strength. How to know if you're “coasting” or working towards a championship life? I'll give you the litmus test that will show you.The championship creed I have on laminated cards for myself and my team.
