In today's episode of LID Radio, we're joined by Neil Francis, the author of The Creative Thinking Book: How to ignite and Boost Your Creativity. We talk about his book and the different inhibitors blocking our creative thinking. About Neil Francis Neil Francis is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in digital and software technology. He is the author of four other self-development books, including Positive Thinking (LID). About The Creative Thinking Book Creative thinking is about finding a way of looking at problems or situations from a fresh perspective, and then to conceive of something new or original. A creative person has clever and original ideas, and that all starts with firing up your imagination. It's through your imagination that you produce and simulate novel objects and new ideas, images or concepts.    The good news is that everyone is capable of thinking creatively – as human beings, it is within our nature to do so. Through a mixture of anecdotes, stories and practical methods, this book is designed to help you understand what creativity is and how to unleash and apply your inner creativity.   ➡️ Grab a copy: https://lidpublishing.com/book/the-creative-thinking-book/

South Wales is building back from the pandemic with a raft of industrial start-ups and with leisure operators keen to fill vacant space on the high street, believes Fletcher Morgan associate Matthew Jones. Fletcher Morgan is the highest placed regional independent agency in the Radius On Demand Rankings for South Wales with 338,699 sq ft of space transacted across 40 deals so far this year. Jones, meanwhile, has done the third most individual deals (22) for the whole of Wales, with only Knight Frank's Neil Francis and Mark Sutton having done more. Jones says the office market has been the toughest in living memory but is starting to spring back to life, albeit with occupiers less interested in conventional leases. Small industrial units, meanwhile, are selling in their droves to local occupiers and the industrial estates of South Wales are now high on the priority lists of investment funds. Meanwhile, a variety of leisure occupiers are setting up in the high street, helped by the fact some 20% of the population of Cardiff are students.

Luke pays tribute to Stander's service to Irish rugby, but has mixed feelings over his decision to step away. In terms of on-pitch action, Luke takes a look at Ireland's defensive issues, while the lads discuss Ireland's propensity to kick away turnover ball. England are coming to town for the Six Nations finale on Saturday, and Luke and Neil both offer areas where Ireland must improve if they want to secure an upset victory. However, ultimately, they think Eddie Jones' men will leave the Aviva Stadium with a five consecutive win over Ireland.

Luke is disappointed that the pattern of the loss followed along similar lines to Ireland's recent defeats to England, while Neil says that Ireland were outfought by Eddie Jones' side. The form of the Ireland half-backs, Conor Murray and Johnny Sexton is discussed, with Luke saying that he thinks Sexton might be carrying an injury. In terms of changes to the team, Neil says that Leinster back row Rhys Ruddock - who was omitted from the Six Nations squad - is someone who could make a difference for Andy Farrell's men. The French revival, Joey Carbery's latest injury and Eddie Jones' selection decisions are all up for discussion too. the Left Wing is sponsored by Land Rover

Ireland have taken their hits so far in this World Cup but the question remains whether they can pick themselves up for the rest of the tournament. On this week's Left Wing, Neil Francis joined Luke Fitzgerald, Fergus McFadden and Will Slattery and as usual, Franno didn't pull any punches. "They look a tired team," says Franno. "The graph is going a particular way and even if they correct it against Samoa, they've got a lot of things wrong. Is it mirroring something? Where are the unforced errors coming from?" While all the panel agree that Ireland are more than capable of beating anyone on their day, no one can see them doing it for a semi or final. "It's a tough space to be in mentally because you have to move on pretty quickly," says Fergus McFadden. "Your'e just hoping Joe is picking their confidence up again because time is of the essence." The panel also lament the continued poor standard of refereeing, whether Joe Schmidt has learned from 2015 and the return to form of the 'veteran' McFadden for Leinster in the Pro14. Part 3 - Track by Track The Terrific Trio gets to gab about two huge worldwide hits with "A Little Respect" and "Chains of Love."  Andrew reminds Brian and Sarah that in the UK, "Ship of Fools" was also released and did quite well on the singles chart, which causes all sorts of envy and bitterness.  However, the mood is set to right by the lovely story of YouTube sensation Neil Francis - because no one can be depressed after watching him sing "A Little Respect" while waiting for the train!  Let's see, then Sarah and Andrew team up against Brian because he had the audacity to say that he doesn't think "Hallowed Ground" is as catchy a tune as "Chains of Love."  He backtracks on what he said just so they don't turn off his mic.  Man, Sarah usually writes these episode descriptions, but she is away this weekend and I thought it would be easier than this!  Oh!  Did you know that one of the songs on this side of the record was released as a single over twenty years later??  We'll talk about that too so I don't want to give it away here.  A Little Respect Ship of Fools Phantom Bride Chains of Love Hallowed Ground See the videos we discuss here: A Little Respect Ship of Fools Chains of Love Read more at http://www.permanentrecordpodcast.com/ Visit us at https://www.facebook.com/permrecordpodcast Follow us at https://twitter.com/permrecordpod Follow Andrew at https://twitter.com/disheedee

On this week's episode of The Left Wing, Will Slattery and Luke Fitzgerald are joined by Irish and Sunday Independent columnist Neil Francis to discuss how the Irish provinces fared in the first weekend of Champions Cup action, and look ahead to this weekend's games. Neil isn't overly pleased with Leinster's performance while Luke thinks that the errors made by Leo Cullen's men can be rectified ahead of Glasgow on Saturday. The lads also discuss JJ Hanrahan's role at Munster, the cynicism on show in their draw against Castres, what Ulster need to do to take the next step, and Warren Gatland's response to Sean O'Brien's Lions criticism.

Neil Francis loves the outdoors. There's nowhere else he'd rather be than stretched out in a field gazing at the sky, with his dog Bouncer by his side. From his front room he can see the hills that he used to play in as a child. But for now, he can't get up them. 25 years ago, an accident left Neil paralysed from the chest down and since then he's had to rely on 24hr care at home. His wheelchair gives him some freedom but it can only take him so far. Uneven paths, muddy fields and steep hills are out of bounds and being trapped in the same position day after day, for over two decades, is taking its toll. His spine is curving and he endures debilitating seizures. Neil needs to find a way out of pain and back into the landscape that he loves. He discovers there's a wheelchair that could help him, but it costs a lot of money - too much money. It doesn't look like he can get it. But then, enter two guardian angels.... Presenter Grace Dent.
