Jim and Rich start of this episode with some listener feed back. Seems The guys missed the fact that American Rossi Moor has signed to ride in the Junior GP Moto2 class this year (link below). Next Jim and Rich tackle the news starting off with Pirelli becoming the sole tire supplier for the entire MotoGP paddock in 2027. They discuss the Ogura disqualification and chat about the X rant that people are becoming bored with the sprint races. Lastly they cover all the action from Argentina. Piqueras opened his winning bank account with a somewhat controversial win in Moto3. What does the rule really say about touching the green paint on the last lap? Inquiring minds want to know. British pride was on full display in Moto2 as Jake Dixon took a commanding win and moved into second in the championship chase. Lastly MotoGp and what can you say about Marc's incredible start to the season. The result may have been the same as last race when Marc battled his brother for the win, but how we got there this time is completely different. The guys also wonder when Marc will actually loose a race. Diggia su Zarco, Honda in ripresa, KTM si difende, Yamaha no. Aprilia sfortunata e Ogura squalificato. Tank Slappers is back for the 2025 Season! Taking over the reins is Dre Harrison, alongside Autosport's Chief Motorsport Writer Ben Hunt, and Motorsport.com MotoGP reporter Oriol Puigdemont. The trio sit down to review the opening round of the 2025 MotoGP season in Buriram, Thailand at the Chang International Circuit. It was a dream debut for Marc Marquez in the Ducati red, dominating the proceedings to finishing in a 1-2 in both the Sprint and Grand Prix with his brother Alex. How impressive was Marc's performance? How concerned should Francesco Bagnaia be after only managing a pair of third places? There's also the fact that Marquez had to concede an early second-and-a-half advantage to comply with MotoGP's tyre regulation rule. A necessary evil, or bad for the show? There's also a discussion on Ai Ogura and the best debut performance in the sport since 2013 after finishing 5th in his first race with Trackhouse, the latest on Jorge Martin's broken hands, and asking if Honda and Yamaha are finally closing the gap to Ducati and Aprilia.
Marc Marquez shows off his experience and speed in the 2025 MotoGP season opener. And, in the process, looks like he did in 2019. I break down the action, surprises, and most impressive riders in Buriram, and try to figure out if Marc might actually own a Time Machine on the ThaiGP post-race show! The Rundown:- The ThaiGP!
¡Vamos a ver cuáles!

Jim and Rich discuss all the action from Motegi. The first World Championship had been handed out to David Alonso! The Moto3 champ won this title in style by winning in true Alonso style. He was as far back as ninth in this race but road through the pack late in the race to win by half a second. The Moto2 race provided all the drama this weekend as a rain shower just after the start caused a red flag. It was anybodies guess on wether to use rains or slicks, but championship leader Ogura with he courage of his convictions went on slicks. He quickly fell back to 14th but the as he put heat into his slicks they came good and he powered through the field to lead. In fact six riders started on slicks and all would finish in the top six! Ogura riding smart let Gonzales take the win. Ogura now leads Garcia by sixty points. MotGp was a mixed bag as Marc was denied pole because of track limits and this promoted Acosta to his first pole position in the top class. All eyes were on Acosta in both the sprint and the Sunday race as he was heavily favored to win both. Lady Luck is a cruel mistress and she took both wins away in the form of two front end low-sides. Bagnaia benefited the most as he won both races with championship rival Martin finishing fourth in the sprint and second in the Sunday race. Bagnaia took fourteen points out of Martin's lead and now sits just ten points behind. The guys (well Jim mostly) got all geeked out on are contrails fuel consumption and flywheels. Its heavy engineering geek speak that had Richard's eyes glazing over! Mancano quattro prove e tutto serve: qualifica (dove Martin è caduto), partenza (questa volta entrambi a fionda), Sprint e gara (Bagnaia impeccabile). Rivoluzione in Honda arriva Albesiano. Jim and Rich review the first of the triple headers. First Jim talks about his busman holiday to the IMSA race in Indianapolis, then the guys go through all the news. After the new the guys break down the racing from San Marino! With heavy rain just before the weekend the track had all of the rubber washed off and this seemed to have massive effect on all the classes. In Moto3 it was normal shrive resumed as Alonso won a cracker of a race. The last few laps were quite a spectacle as Alonso, Piqueras, Vier and Holgado constantly changed positions. In Moto2 the guys discuss the surprise send place in Q2 by Joe Roberts. The real surprise was the race itself as Ogura made one of the most impressive starts this season, by powering around the outside of several riders to be third on the start. The race settled into a fight between Vietti, Canet and Arbolino. Arbolino looked like a sure bet to win his first race of the season but a gearbox problem caused him to run wide handing the lead to Canet. Can't was them pipped at the finish line by Vietti, by .029 seconds! This was the best Moto2 race of the season! MotoGp help up its end of the bargain by having a great late race battle between Martin and Bastianini. Where was Pecco? Well he struggled with his rear tire and fell off about halfway. Bastianini would win after aggressively move Martin out of the way. This championship is definitely going down to the last race of the season. Rich returns from holiday to discuss all the action from Aragon! The race weekend was plagued by overnight thunder storms that dirtied the track and created crazy racing action. In Moto 3, Alonso busted out to a huge lead and looked a sure bet to win the race, but Rueda had different ideas as he chose a hard rear tire. Once that switched on, Rueda ran down Alonso to take his first class victory showing the brilliance and speed that won him the Jr. World Championship and the Red Bull Rookies Cup in the same year. Don't worry about Alonso because he increased his lead in the championship to 75 points. In Moto2, crashes were the main topic as Canet, Aldeuger, and Roberts all had wild high sides! Jake Dixon rode a masterful race to win another Grand Prix and close in on the championship leaders. It was truly a miserable weekend for Garcia as he called it a day after starting 29th and receiving a long lap penalty. He still leads the Championship over Ogura. In MotoGP, the question was, could anyone beat Marc Marquez? Fastest all weekend, Marc took pole position, converted that to a win in the Sprint race on Saturday and then dominated the Sunday race to win in 1,043 days! Bagnaia struggled with grip levels on each of his race starts, finishing off the podium in the sprint handing Martin the championship lead by 3 points. Sunday was another bad start for Bagnaia, but he made the best of it and was looking good for a podium finish until he and Alex Marquez crashed at turn 12. Now, Martin holds a 23 point lead as we head for the double in San Marino! if you're a regular listener, please sign up to support the show financially if you can and don't forget to connect with us via the social media channels. Functional neurological disorder (FND) has been called a “silent epidemic,” a “crisis” in neurology, and psychiatry's “blind spot.”And, I have to admit it has been a huge personal blind spot for me. Luckily, others in the OT community have been hard at work standardizing care for these patients. Multidisciplinary treatment, including referral to OT is a best practice for these patients. And, today we will look at expert recommendations for OT assessment and treatment. After we review the OT recommendations for FND, we will welcome Naoya Ogura, OTD, OTR/L, he is the West Los Angeles Clinic Director at re-active and specializes in neurological conditions like POTS, EDS, MCAS, and FND. Jim rides solo on this one and reports on the Catalan GP. This weekend's racing seemed backwards as the Moto3 race was the calmest of the weekend and we had two wild races in the MotoGP Class. The Moto3 race was won by Alonso after smooth ride to the front and riding the best last sector than anyone else. Moto2 was a wild race with the ugly onset of track limits causing many riders to have to take the long lap penalty loop. The most infamous of these penalties caused Aldeguer to crash in the long lap loop! Roberts had a track limits penalty and finished down the field, losing even more ground to Garcia. The best part of this race was that Ogura won after a 2 year drought. Finally two very crazy MotoGP races started off with Aliex retiring from the sport, winning a sprint race that no one wanted to win and then missing the podium in the Sunday main. Acosta crashed out again and Marc Marquez rode from 14th to 3rd on a soft rear. Oh, did I mention that Raul Fernandez had a career best finish in 6th for Trackhouse? Can't wait for Mugello!
Ancora Alonso in Moto3 (quarta vittoria in sei GP), dove sboccia Luca Lunetta.

Manchester United's shock FA Cup triumph unsurprisingly headlines Sports Minutes - but will the Wembley miracle be enough to earn Erik ten Hag a stay of execution? Plus, with Singapore's national team in action against South Korea and Thailand very soon - has head coach Tsutomu Ogura made a mistake by omitting Ilhan Fandi from his squad?

Junko Furuta was a 17 year old student at Yashio-Minami High School. She was a good student who had high hopes for the future as she was saving for a trip post graduation and had a job lined up. On the night of November 25, 1988, Furuta was on her way home from work when she was kicked off her bike by and unknown teenaged boy. A few seconds later, another teenaged boy appeared and helped her. He offered to walk her home. Unbeknownst to Furuta, both boys (Hiroshi Miyano and Shinji Minato) were friends who planned this out. Miyano lead Furuta to a warehouse, where she was beaten and raped. She was held captive at Misato's home for 40 days. Miyano, Minato and two of their friends, Jō Ogura and Yasushi Watanabe beat, tortured and raped Furuta. Minato's family never reported the crimes as they feared their son and his friends. Furuta succumbed to her injuries on January 4, 1989. Fearing the consequences, the boys wrapped Furuta's body in blankets and placed her in a metal drum, which was then filled with wet concrete. Over the next four months, the boys continued to commit more violent crimes. After being arrested for an unrelated crime, Miyano confessed to killing Furuta and dumping her body after thinking Ogura confessed as well. The four boys were arrested and charged with murder. They all served anywhere from 5 to 20 years in prison. Furuta's family and the public believed the sentences were too light. Once they got out, most of them continued to commit crimes.
Furuta was born in Misato, Saitama Prefecture. She lived with her parents, her elder brother, and her younger brother. As a teenager, she attended Yashio-Minami High School and worked part-time at a plastic molding factory during after-school hours since October 1988. She did this to save up money for a graduation plan she had arranged. Furuta also accepted a job at an electronics retailer, where she planned on working after graduation. At high school, Furuta was well-liked by her classmates, with high grades and very infrequent absences. The perpetrators were four teenage boys: Hiroshi Miyano (宮野裕史, Miyano Hiroshi, 18 years old), Jō Ogura (小倉譲, Ogura Jō, 17), Shinji Minato (湊伸治, Minato Shinji, 16), and Yasushi Watanabe (渡邊恭史, Watanabe Yasushi, 17), who were respectively referred to as "A", "B", "C", and "D" in court documents. At the time of the crime, they used the second floor of Minato's house as a hangout, and had, as chimpira, previously engaged in crimes including purse snatching, extortion, and rape. On 25 November 1988, Miyano and Minato wandered around Misato with the intention of robbing and raping local women. At 8:30 p.m., they spotted Furuta riding her bike home after she had finished a shift at her job. Under Miyano's orders, Minato kicked Furuta off her bike and fled the scene. Miyano, under the pretence of witnessing the attack by coincidence, approached Furuta and offered to walk her home safely. Furuta, accepting this offer, was unaware that Miyano was leading her to a nearby warehouse, where he revealed his yakuza connections. He raped her in the warehouse and again in a nearby hotel, threatening to kill her. From the hotel, Miyano called Minato and his other friends, Jō Ogura and Yasushi Watanabe, and bragged to them about the rape. Ogura reportedly asked Miyano to keep her in captivity in order to allow numerous people to sexually assault her. The group had a history of gang rape and had recently kidnapped and raped another girl, whom they released afterward. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thes3podcast/message
Compiled around 1235, the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, or Ogura's 100 Poems by 100 Poets, is one of the most important collections of poetry in Japan. Though the poets include emperors and empresses, courtiers and high priests, ladies-in-waiting and soldier-calligraphers, the collection is far more than a fascinating historical document. As the translators, James Hadley and Nell Regan, note in A Gap in the Clouds: A New Translation of Ogura Hyakunin Isshu (Dedalus Press, 2020), "these beautiful poems have endured because their themes are universal and readily understood by contemporary readers". MotoGP in Styria Holy crap, Miguel Oliveira wins with a brilliant final corner DOUBLE overtake on Jack Miller and Pol Espargaro to take his maiden victory in the top flight! It was also a race of two halves as Joan Mir was the big loser after Maverick Vinales had to jump off a Yamaha that had a brake failure... at 180 miles per hour, causing a red flag! Fabio Quartararo could only manage 13th after numerous brake issues and we discuss their latest mechanical gremlin. And holy crap the title standings, Top 13 covered by 41 points! Aron Canet binned it from pole, Remy Gardner finally got back on the podium too, with Tetsuya Nagashima 4th and Tom Luthi 5th. We also had Sam Lowes turn into a bowling ball, getting disqualified for causing a three bike pile up including Jorge Navarro. Turns out, he'll also get a pitlane start for Misano... And in Moto3, Celestino Vietti takes first win over Arbolino and Ogura, McPhee bins it with 2 to go as well. Also, Deniz Oncu and Ayumu Sasaki collide in nasty Tech 3 incident (Thank GOD the Dentist won).
And in the final extended part of the 5-parter catchup, we talk MotoGP in Brno as Brad Binder pulled off his first GP win in shocking fashion, while the other KTM's imploded behind him! We also talk the 70th Anniversary GP, which Max Verstappen somehow won in a key strategic fight over the Mercedes! Episodes 254 and 255 are already on YouTube, but will also be here very soon! How can we address global inequalities in this era of climate change? What disciplines, methods can we use – and how can we do this research ethically, collaboratively? UBC Forestry PhD student Saori Ogura is working with Indigenous peoples in Zimbabwe and the Himalayas to support their knowledges about traditional nutritious crops as a counter to monocultural cash crops like cardamom. Saori tells PhDiva Xine about her research journey from Japan to Berkeley to UNESCO involving agricultural sciences, political science, ethno-ecology, and art. And most importantly, living with communities and learning from them, not just extracting knowledge as capital. Networks of ecologies mean considering the ethics of these transnational relationships. What does diversity mean across these different contexts? How is art integral to Saori’s project and what are the vital differences between drawing and photographing plants? Colin Marshall sits down overlooking greater Kyoto on Mt. Ogura with Stephen Gill, poet, BBC radio scriptwriter, and executive director of People Together for Mt. Ogura. They discuss the mountain's place in a traditional Japanese poetry card game; how, after scores of Japanese noticed in it an opportunity for free trash disposal, the mountain generated the headline "Ogurayama, gomi no yama" (Mt. Ogura, Mountain of Trash); the compilation of a collection about Mt. Ogura featuring verse by one hundred different poets; the onset of sightseeing season, which mostly brings visitors to the neighboring Mt. Arashiyama; the rich literary heritage of this now-suburban area, which even offers real locations from The Tale of Genji; the modern development of Kyoto, whose tower blocks at least cast into relief its more historical elements in the "glorious chaos" mixture well known to Asia; his three stretches in Japan, and the constant visits to the doctor his early acclimatization required; how he makes radio programs about Japan, always beginning with an image and then crafting a broadcast around it; how he only learned about his native Britain by living abroad, and what a foreign poet can offer Japan by way of a helpful thorn in the side; his view of Kyoto as a vast intermeshing of systems, which once there tend to last a hundred, or even five hundred years; what could possibly "shake up" Kyoto short of actual destruction; and what it means for him to "tune in" to a place like this. He also reads haiku poems, both his own and those by other People Together for Mt. Ogura participants.
