We talk about the five-year reality of product-market fit, why velocity per store beats “more units,” and how owning a specific occasion (post-workout, post-shift, post-party) unlocks scale.Mark breaks down risk discipline—grow deep before wide—and what acquirers actually buy: a future customer and a missing occasion, not just a product. If you're tempted to expand because it feels like progress, this episode shows a sharper path: focus, proof, and traction that travels. To learn more, visit groundforcecapital.com ____________________________________________________________Free 5-Day Restaurant Marketing Masterclass – This is a live training where you'll learn the exact campaigns Josh has built and tested in real restaurants to attract new guests, increase visit frequency, and generate sales on demand. Jude breaks it down in plain language with a reminder that waiting too long could delay your tax-free income in retirement. Next, Jude tackles two questions that often go hand in hand: what to do if you make too much to contribute to a Roth IRA, and whether you should convert your entire IRA all at once. Send us a textIn this episode, Mena and Stuart unpack the ins and outs of Australia's often misunderstood 6-year CGT exemption rule for main residences. They explore how this powerful tax concession can help homeowners maximise profits when selling a property they no longer live in, particularly those who rent it out after moving. Listeners will learn the exact eligibility criteria, including how to ensure a property still qualifies as your main residence for tax purposes even while it's earning rental income.Stuart explains how the exemption resets if you move back in, while Mena walks through common scenarios, including how a full exemption applies if the sale occurs within six years, and how pro-rata tax is calculated if you exceed the threshold. They also highlight important strategies such as resetting the 6-year clock, obtaining accurate property valuations, and the critical CGT implications for couples with multiple properties. The conversation also covers mistakes to avoid, like poor record keeping, incorrect main residence elections, and confusion around land tax. Finally, they issue a clear warning for expats: non-residents lose access to the CGT exemption entirely. It's a must-listen for any property owner looking to sell smart and avoid unexpected tax bills. If this episode resonated with you, please leave a rating on your favourite podcast platform. In this episode of Beer and Money, Ryan Burklo discusses the recent changes to the rules governing inherited IRAs, particularly focusing on the new 10-year rule that requires non-spouse beneficiaries to deplete inherited accounts within a decade. He explains the implications of this rule, exceptions for certain beneficiaries, and the importance of tax strategies when managing inherited funds. The episode emphasizes the need for financial planning and awareness of IRS regulations to avoid penalties and optimize tax efficiency. Check out our website: beerandmoney.net For a quick assessment of your current financial life go to: https://www.livingbalancesheet.com/lbsVision/lite/RyanBurklo Takeaways The 10-year rule requires non-spouse beneficiaries to deplete inherited IRAs within 10 years. Prior to 2020, beneficiaries could stretch withdrawals over their lifetime. Exceptions to the 10-year rule exist for minor children and disabled individuals. Tax planning is crucial when withdrawing from inherited IRAs. Delaying withdrawals until year 10 can lead to significant tax implications. Inherited traditional IRAs are subject to ordinary income tax rates upon distribution. Understanding these rules is imperative to avoid penalties. The IRS is now enforcing these rules more strictly than before. Financial planning should consider retirement timing and income changes. Resources are available for individuals to assess their financial situation. In today's episode, we discuss the process of working with FEMA in the aftermath of a disaster and give you some advice for small businesses seeking government contracts. It is important to note that FEMA has to plan for disasters in advance and cannot wait until after a disaster to identify contractors and vendors. With that, I encourage businesses to look for bid opportunities with FEMA before a disaster strikes. Here's an important reminder: I advise against relying solely on the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) for help with government contracts, as PTAC may not assist startup businesses that have been in operation for less than two years. Hope you enjoyed this episode of The Daily Wind Up. See you tomorrow.
