"The Audacity" is an American dark comedy television series created by Jonathan Glatzer for AMC and AMC+. It follows a self-appointed "inventor of the future" tech CEO and his self-serving "performance psychologist,” who are engulfed in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data. The series premiered on April 12th to positive reviews. In March 2026, ahead of the series premiere, the series was renewed for a second season. Creator Jonathan Glatzer and stars Billy Magnussen, Lucy Punch, Paul Adelstein, Simon Helberg, Rob Corddry, Meaghan Rath, Everett Blunck, Thailey Roberge, and Ava Marie Telek were all kind enough to spend some time talking with us about their work and experiences making the series, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the series, which is up for your consideration for this year's Emmy Awards and is now available to stream on AMC+. Thank you, and enjoy! More of my interview with 'The Big Bang Theory' and ‘The Audacity' star Simon Helberg. Simon tells me about the unfortunate way he found out ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' was cancelled, how he untied his self-worth from achievement, and how parenthood brought more perspective. Plus, I share a funny time at this restaurant that involved his ‘Big Bang' costar Jim Parsons. This episode was recorded at El Condor in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Learn more about your ad choices. 'The Big Bang Theory' and ‘The Audacity' star Simon Helberg joins the show. Over enchiladas and guacamole, Simon reflects on ending ‘The Big Bang Theory' after 12 years and starring alongside my dear friend Lucy Punch as a tech bro billionaire Martin Phister in the AMC series ‘The Audacity.' We also talk about his early life: how formative his experience at Crossroads School was -- creating lasting friendships -- and how growing up at the Groundlings theatre influenced his love for comedy and performance. Continuing with the cycle theme of “Offbeat Musicals”, Julian and Madeline draw from the conception of their friendship with a joint suggestion - Leos Carax's “Annette” (2021). Joining Emilio as a first-time viewer is actor and puppeteer Kelly Autry, a friend of Madeline's since tweendom. Our two seasoned Sparks fans share their background with the musical duo, who write and compose the music for this film, and try their best to initiate those who are new to the band's unique musical style. Although many may know “Annette” as “the Adam Driver puppet musical”, the group digs into themes of originality, self-sabotage, and the nature of performance. Their opinions of the film may vary, but the group agrees that “Annette” becomes richer with a discussion among friends, and in the value of “simple stories expressed unconventionally”, in the words of past guest Shaun Seneviratne.Kelly Autry is an actor, singer, dancer, and puppeteer, who can be seen performing around New York City. Simon Helberg is best known for playing Howard in the hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" for 12 seasons, but he has also built a notable and varied film career working with people like Leos Carax, the Coen Brothers, and a stand-out performance opposite Meryl Streep in "Florence Foster Jenkins." For his latest, he returns to television in Jonathan Glatzer's Silicon Valley series "The Audacity" on AMC. On this episode, he talks about why he's "precious" about the first read of a script, ponders the paradox of character vs. self, shares some tidbits he gleaned from Ms. Streep, sums it all up with three important words: "Expect and Affect," plus much more! Back To One is the in-depth, no-nonsense, actors-on-acting podcast. In each episode, host Peter Rinaldi invites one working actor to do a deep dive into their unique process, psychology, and approach to the craft. If Halt and Catch Fire was AMC's first lesson in tech, The Audacity is what happens when that world metastasizes — a look at how money, power, and ego rot the core of 2026 Silicon Valley. Billy Magnussen stars as Duncan Park, a data-mining mogul doing a tightrope walk over a cliff, dragged down by his own hubris. On the pod, we break down the sprawling ensemble (Sarah Goldberg, Meaghan Rath, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg…), touch on plot points including blackmail, NDAs, insider trading, and Wallflowers stuck in basements... Finally, we conclude whether the show has potential or if it is just a cheap Black Mirror rip off. Tune in, and Welcome to Todays Episode!
Q&A on the AMC series The Audacity with creator/EP/writer/showrunner Jonathan Glatzer and cast Billy Magnussen, Lucy Punch, Paul Adelstein, Simon Helberg, Rob Corddry, and Meaghan Rath. In the bubble of Silicon Valley, the unorthodox relationship between a wannabe tech titan and his therapist illustrate the Valley's madness and failings.
Rob Corddry makes everything he's in better. From grand Shakespearean aspirations to getting work playing all the douchebags you love to hate ("Hot Tub Time Machine", "Children's Hospital", "Ballers"), Rob is simply too funny to let Dan "The Grief Eater" Le Batard make this a downer episode. Instead, Dan and Rob share laughs, dive deep into Rob finding his dream job as a correspondent alongside Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," and the absurdity of Hollywood, keeping things refreshingly light. "The Audacity", starring Rob Corddry, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, and Simon Helberg, premieres Sunday, April 12th at 9PM ET/PT on AMC and AMC+ Learn more about your ad choices. 2016 - the last year of the Obama administration, and the year of the ill-conceived GHOSTBUSTERS reboot -- the start of a highly upsetting time in America. It was also the year this week's film hit the theaters. This tone-deaf period piece lives up to the clumsiness of it's inspiration. Personnellement, ça me gêne. The Big Bang Theory ran for 12 seasons, 279 episodes, on CBS, and continues to be a pop culture presence with its frequent re-airings on cable, permanent home on HBO Max, and its spin-off life with the CBS hit Young Sheldon. With its spot in television history firmly secured, the series was due for a comprehensive chronicle of its success, and journalist and author Jessica Radloff's New York Times bestseller The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series is just what the Big Bang fan ordered. Radloff's coverage of The Big Bang Theory as a Senior West Coast Editor at Glamour earned her the trust of the series cast and creators, which led to this fantastic, exhaustive account. From their memories of the multiple pilots and recastings that eventually brought together the stellar ensemble cast of iconic characters to their sometimes fond, sometimes controversial and divisive decisions as friends and co-workers, stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch, as well as series creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and showrunner Steve Molaro are among the dozens of interviewees (and hundreds of hours of interviews) Radloff crafted into this tale of on-set romance, million-dollar contract negotiations, Emmy-winning performances, and the classic moments of TV comedy that still have viewers laughing. In many ways, "The Big Bang Theory" is what really brought nerd culture to the forefront after it became a fast breakout hit when it first debuted in 2007 A show about two scientist who enjoyed comic books, science fiction, role playing games, and so much more hadn't really gotten much love on prime time television. And certainly not as main characters depicted in such a positive light. The show pulled strong ratings throughout the entirety of its 12 season run which is no easy feat. Four years after its final episode aired we look back at the shows pilot episode and try to better understand why you couldn't walk past a single kiosk at any mall without seeing a "Bazinga" shirt. Will the S1E1 boys green-light their pilot episode? Listen and find out. www.S1E1POD.com Starring: Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, & Kunal Nayyar

Welcome to Times Will Tell, the weekly podcast from the Times of Israel. This week, we speak with Mayim Bialik, who has just released her filmmaking debut, “As They Made Us.” Most people know Bialik from her performance as neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler on “The Big Bang Theory,” from her work as a child as the title character on the sitcom “Blossom,” or lately, as the new host of "Jeopardy!" Bialik wrote and directed “As They Made Us”," which is quite the departure from the rosy sitcom bubble. It is a tough look at tense family relations as the father's life is winding to a close. It stars Dustin Hoffman as the dying father; Candice Bergen as the overbearing mother; Simon Helberg is the estranged older brother, and Dianna Agron plays the anchor of the family, Jewish journalist Abigail. "As They Made Us" is now in theaters. IMAGE: Filmmaker Mayim Bialik. (Storm Santos) See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory, Florence Foster Jenkins, As They Made Us) joins Mayim in studio to discuss the preparation he did and fears he had playing his complicated character in Mayim's new film, As They Made Us. He takes us through the darkest moments of his mental health journey, his OCD stemming from his attempts to avoid failure, and his motivation to seek professional treatment. Mayim considers the shift she witnessed in Simon's mental health on The Big Bang Theory set. They discuss their entries into the Big Bang cast, what happened once the show grew in popularity, and the mental health quirks and stereotypes of each of the characters. Simon and Mayim explain the process of finding themselves after the success of the series and what it was like for Simon to perform an impression of Stephen Hawking in front of the late physicist on the set of the show.Trailer for As They Made Us : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU-b6NoDkiU&t=0sSimon Helberg's impressions on CONAN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7xQkJYwyi0BialikBreakdown.comYouTube.com/mayimbialik

Prepare your funny bone for some otherworldly ticklin', because for Episode 332, I unearthed a hidden gem of a haunted house comedy. In https://tubitv.com/movies/633149/the-selling?start=true (THE SELLING), a too-nice-for-his-own-good real estate agent is tricked into buying a house that was once owned by a long-dead serial killer. If that wasn't bad enough, the house is also EXTREMELY haunted. Can Richard defeat the ghosts, sell the house and save the day? (And is anybody gonna eat those leftover brownies???) "Annette" premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival and is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film has confounded audiences with its rock-musical brilliance and mad storytelling from the unique mind of Leos Carax. While a lot of praise was directed towards Carax's vision and Adam Driver's leading performance, we think Simon Helberg deserves some awards consideration for his role as The Accompanist. Simon was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about his work on the film, which can be listened to down below. Enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... For our second podcast review this week, Amanda Spears, Nicole Ackman, Dan Bayer, Casey Lee Clark & Will Mavity join me to discuss the highly original, divisive, wild, and bombastic operatic musical from the brilliant mind of Leos Carax, "Annette." What did we think of it, though? Tune in below to hear us discuss the performances, songs, themes, and of course, that adorable puppet baby. Enjoy! This will culminate in NBP Film Community Awards and awards voted on by the staff. Next up is our review of "Florence Foster Jenkins" starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant & Simon Helberg. Based on a true story and directed by Academy Award nominee Stephen Frears ("The Queen" & "Philomena"), the film is a delightful piece of entertainment, hoisted up by its main trio of performances. What did we think of it though? What did we think of the film's awards season run which resulted in Meryl Streep's 20th Oscar nomination but left Hugh Grant on the sidelines? Tune in to find out all of this and more in our review. Joining me for this podcast retrospective review I have Amanda Spears, Dan Bayer & Ryan C. Showers.
