REC 2 is a 2009 Spanish found footage zombie film sequel to 2007's Rec and the second installment of the Rec film series. The film was written and directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, both of whom returned from the previous film. The story takes place immediately after the events of the first film and follows a team of soldiers assigned to protect a scientist supposedly sent to investigate the cause of the outbreak, but who may already know more about it than he claims. The police station of Vallecas, Madrid, received a telephone call late on the night of November 27th, 1992. The understaffed police station wasn't at all prepared for what the frantic voice at the other end of the line was saying. A frightened man claimed he and his wife were plagued by tall shadowy people and strange things were happening in their home. Inspector José Pedro Negri who took on the case, quickly assembled a small squad of officers to help deal with what he believed to be intruders inside the caller's home. Nothing in their official training would prepare them for what unfolded in the home of Maximo Gutierrez and his wife Concepcion Lazaro. This case eventually became one of the most controversial mysteries and sent shockwaves across Spanish society. It was also the first police documented case in Spain which cited paranormal activity as official cause of disturbance. The story eventually inspired the 2018 Netflix movie Veronica, directed by Paco Plaza, best known for 2007's hit zombie movie [REC]. The movie Veronica made headlines as it claimed to be so scary many people couldn't even get through it. This is the real-life story of an 18-year old girl named Estefania Gutierrez Lazaro. Esta semana viajamos a una nueva edición de Seminci, la 68 y la primera con José Luis Cienfuegos. Precisamente con él iniciamos este programa con el charlaremos de la nueva identidad del certamen, de su frescura y de lo más importante del cine independiente, experimental y vanguardista. JUNIPER, es la primera película escrita y dirigida por Matthew J. Saville y la elegida para cerrar el certamen, con una impresionante y excepcional Charlotte Rampling que además recibirá una de las espigas de honor. Con ambos compartimos micrófono. Kiti Mánver, protagonista de Mamacruz que se presenta en el festival fuera de concurso y llega hoy a todas las salas es otra de esas espigas de honor. Con Ella y Patricia Ortiz charlamos de esta cinta que habla abiertamente de la sexualidad en la madurez, una película con la que muchas mujeres se van a sentir identificadas. Ken Loach, visitó por primera vez la Seminci en 1969 con Kes, le gusta presentar sus películas en este certamen, este año llega con el Viejo roble, de nuevo con guion de su viejo compañero, Paul Laverty. Ambos pasan por el programa como también lo hacen Enric Auquer y Patricia Font, actor y directora de El maestro que prometió el mar que llega a las salas el 10 de noviembre, pero antes pasa por la sección oficial de la Seminci. La SEMINCI le concede el Premio Especial a la Creación Artística, además, fuera de concurso se podrá ver el estreno mundial del documental Cristina García Rodeo: La mirada oculta, de la cineasta Carlota Nelson Con Carlota y Cristina García Rodero compartimos una charla muy interesante. Otro de los estrenos muy esperados es Memento Mori, serie original de Prime Video rodada en Valladolid que protagonizan Yon González, Francisco Ortiz y Juan Echanove, de ella nos habla nuestro colaborador Pedro Calvo que ha tenido la oportunidad de estar con ellos. Repasamos los títulos que llegan a la cartelera y nos detenemos en El chico y la garza, la nueva y esperada película de Hayao Miyazaki que llega a las salas tras pasar por el Festival de San Sebastián una historia con tintes autobiográfico sque nos muestra hasta dónde puede llegar el cine de animación. La contadora de películas de Lone Scherfigun es la película que inauguro Seminci y ahora llega a las salas con un elenco encabezado por la francesa Bérénice Bejo, el español Antonio de la Torre y el alemán Daniel Brühl. Una de las películas que se estrena en plataformas es la última película de Paco Plaza, su título Hermana Muerte, película con la que vuelve al universo de Verónica. Receiving a call from an old lady trapped in her house, they reach her building to hear horrifying screams -- which begin a long nightmare and a uniquely dramatic TV report. is a 2007 Spanish found footage horror film co-written and directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza. The film stars Manuela Velasco as a reporter who, with her cameraman, accompany a group of firefighters on an emergency call to an apartment building to discover an infection spreading inside, with the building being sealed up and all occupants ordered to follow a strict quarantine. Rec was released on November 23rd, 2007 to critical and commercial success, and is considered one of the best films in both the found footage and horror genres.[4][5][6][7][8] Rec placed at number 60 on Time Out's list of the Top 100 Best Horror Films.[9] The film was remade in the United States under the name Quarantine in 2008. Reporter Ángela Vidal and her cameraman Pablo are covering the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations for the television series While You're Sleeping. The firehouse receives a call about an old woman, Mrs. Izquierdo, who is trapped in her apartment. Ángela and Pablo accompany two of the firefighters, Álex and Manu, to the apartment building on Rambla de Catalunya. The old woman becomes aggressive and attacks one of the police officers, biting his neck. The crew find that the police and military have sealed off the building and trapped them inside. As the residents begin to panic, Álex, who remained upstairs with the old woman, is thrown over the staircase and critically injured. Mrs. Izquierdo kills a girl, and the remaining officer, Sergio, is forced to shoot her. Ángela and Pablo begin interviewing the residents. One of them is a sick little girl named Jennifer. Her mother Mari Carmen claims she has tonsillitis, and says her dog, Max, is at the vet. A health inspector in a hazmat suit arrives to help but the injured become extremely aggressive. The health inspector explains that they are infected with a virus similar to rabies; the disease was traced back to a dog in the building, and Ángela realizes it must be Max. Jennifer, now infected, bites her mother's face and flees. Sergio handcuffs Mari to the stairs. They find Jennifer but she bites Sergio. The infected break down the door of the warehouse they were locked in and more of the residents are bitten and infected, including Mari.
