Happy Fun Friday, Today's breath is: Skull shining Kapa-la-bhati Pranayama Which: Energizes and improves circulationHere's how to do it: Kapalabhati consists of alternating short, explosive exhales and slightly longer, passive inhales. Exhales are generated by powerful contractions of the lower belly (between the pubis and navel), which push air out of the lungs. Inhales are responses to the release of this contraction, which sucks air back into the lungs. If at any time you feel dizzy, stop doing this breath and go back to your regular breathing. Focus on your lower belly. Many beginners aren't able to isolate and contract this area. If needed, cup one hand lightly in the other and press them gently against your lower belly. Now quickly contract (or pump your fisted hands against) your lower belly, pushing a burst of air out of your lungs. Then quickly release the contraction (or your hands), so the belly "rebounds" to suck air into your lungs. Pace yourself slowly at first. Lets Repeat this 10 times at about one exhale-inhale cycle every second or two.As you become more adept at contracting/releasing your lower belly, you can increase your pace to about two exhale-inhale cycles every second. Imagine the exhale sweeping out or "brightening" the inner lining of your skull.Continue to do this breath while I give you your morning nudgeToday's nudge is: Try something new todayWhy not. You only live once. Try a new food. Take a new route to work. Do something extraordinary for your loved ones. Mix up your routine. Pick up a new exercise. Try new products. Change your attitude for the better. Change is good because you have the opportunity to embrace new experiences. New perspectives are waiting for you each time you do different things. There are so many opportunities out there for you! When you look back on your life, all of the really amazing memories are because of a new experience you had. Trying something new, may seem hard, but once you do it, you will have developed better perseverance and resiliency which are tools we all need to get through life! So, try something new today! Let's repeat this nudge three times:Try something new todayTry something new todayTry something new today Have a great Fun Friday!
I am super excited because I am joined by my own master energy practitioner Sarah Hardy. We are going to discuss spiritual tools for guilt, fear, and overwhelm. We will also dive a bit deeper into how we met each other, our experience of working with each other, and so much more. Topics discussed in this episode:Who is Sarah Hardy and how did she help me become the person I am todayWhy it’s so important to lean into the spiritual tools to let go of any feelings that no longer serve you How you can tap into these tools and use them whenever you feel like the guilt, the fear or the overwhelm are creeping inHow to feel aligned and connected with your truth and powerKey takeaways:Why it’s so important to connect with your highest version of selfHow energy medicine and healing can change thingsIt's really about always connecting to the highest version of youAction step:Wherever you are in your healing journey, hear these words, hear these tools, let them sink in. Today’s episode is for your highest good, and there's something in here for you.Sarah said:“So we can even just remove the labelling of the fear completely and just look at the frequency itself and say, I need to trust that the earth provides for me. I need to trust that I will survive. I need to just get outside, let the frequency of the earth come up into my body and shift my energy. And that starts to shift away from that heavier frequency of these fears so that sometimes we don't even have to go deeper into them.”“And one of those shifts is the overthinking that we start to do right within this need to have these answers a big reason why we struggled to find them is that we're overthinking and we're overthinking from a very human-based place. Right? So we're overthinking our fears, right? Leading us into worrying about a lot of things and worry is the realm of imagination.”Thanks so much for listening!Important Announcements: If you haven’t downloaded our FREE 3 Vital Steps to THRIVE after BC mini course yet, download it now! Good Morning, Colorado, you’re listening to the Daily Sun-Up. It’s Wednesday May 5th, and even though there’s a lot of turmoil right now we’re feeling lucky to start the day with you. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is back in use now. Today -- Why a Colorado woman who experienced blood clotting after getting the vaccine is still an advocate for it. But before we begin, let’s go back in time with some Colorado history adapted from historian Derek R Everett’s book “Colorado Day by Day”: Today, we take you back to May 5th, 1910 when Oliver T. Jackson filed for a homestead in Weld County. This was the first step toward establishing an agricultural colony for African Americans. Jackson hoped that the nascent community - named Dearfield - would promote independence and self sufficiency for a group with few opportunities at that time. Unfortunately a postwar recession hit Dearfield hard, and by 1925 most had left. Now, our feature story. The Johnson and Johnson coronavirus vaccine was paused for a few weeks last month as health officials investigated a rare form of blood clotting that occurred in a handful of women. The single-dose vaccine is back in use now, as officials determined its value to public health outweighed the rare adverse reactions. Reporter John Ingold talks with Lucy Haggard about a Colorado woman who experienced similar clotting -- and why she’s still an advocate for the vaccine. To read the full story, go to coloradosun.com. And Before we go, here are a few stories that you should know about today: Colorado Democrats formally introduced their long-awaited transportation bill Tuesday that seeks to combine fees from multiple sources. Senate Bill 260 would add a new charge on gas purchases, as well as deliveries, rideshare trips and electric vehicle registrations. The bill has support from two state Republicans as well as much of the business community. Funding for transportation projects has been notoriously difficult to gather in Colorado in recent years, with frequent partisan gridlock and multiple rejected ballot measures. The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests are adding reservation systems to some of their most popular spots this summer. The land saw record visitation last season, including 700 encounters between humans and bears. The 1.5 million acres includes Brainard Lake and Mount Evans, both of which will operate under a timed entry system. All overnight visitors to the forest will also be required to have bear-proof food storage containers. Other protective changes will be announced soon, including some overnight areas switching to day-use only and instituting fire bans earlier in the season. The three U.S. Antarctic research stations are now hiring for seasonal jobs, and they’re starting their search for candidates this Thursday in Centennial. Most of the positions don’t require an advanced degree, but recruiters caution they’re not easy jobs. Workers stay at the south pole anywhere from five months to a year at a time, and the coronavirus pandemic means traveling to and from the stations will take a few weeks as well. But impending improvements to one of the research stations will likely reduce the jobs available on the continent within the next decade, so seasoned workers and newcomers alike are encouraged to apply now. Jenn Lyon not only talks about her courageous choices professionally (like being a reader for a Broadway show and then boldly asking to audition for the lead), but also about her personal struggle with anorexia and bulimia, and how living a life of service helps her keep it all in perspective. From her guest star on Justified that turned into a multiple season arc, to her show-stopping turn as Finna in CLAWS, Jenn is a stunning example of an artist in her power. And today she shares with us exactly how she got that way. Jenn has had quite a journey in life and is no doubt using that road traveled to help inspire others. For years she struggled with an eating disorder that came close to ending her life, and thanks to the Renfrew Center in NYC was able to get the treatment she needed. Jenn is showing other women that it’s okay to take up space (we’re not all a size 2), and it’s okay to have a voice and to use it. It’s all about being healthy. Would you like to write an allegory? An allegory is basically a story that reveals a hidden meaning or moral. One great example is *The Alchemist* by Paulo Coelho. An allegory is necessarily as long as a novel, but it should leave the reader with an understanding of a key concept or idea.An allegory is a little like self-help, except in the vein of a story.Jordan Gross is author of the allegory The Journey to Cloud Nine and a TEDx speaker. He's also a prolific non-fiction Medium writer. In this interview, Gross explains:The problems with traditional self-help books todayWhy he veered away from this genreHow to write an allegoryWhat it took to land a TEDx speaking gigHow he's selling copies of his new book through public speaking And lots more.I started by asking Jordan why he decided to write the allegory The Journey to Cloud Nine in the first placeResourcesThe Alchemist by Paulo CoelhoAttention writersGrammarly is one of my favourite proofreading tools. Mark Walters' Grandfather, Lloyd Walters, invested in his first “fixer-upper” property back in 1937 during the Great Depression in San Jose, California. Since that time, his family has always been passionate about real estate. His father, Lloyd Walters, was written up in a national publication in 1985 for some revolutionary marketing ideas he shared dealing with discounted mortgages. The demand was so great to learn more of their techniques that they wrote the first book in the country on marketing for discounted mortgages titled, “How To Find All The Discounted Mortgages You Could Ever Hope To Buy.” After that book's release, they were inundated with people asking what else they were doing. They then wrote another real estate investing book, which had people requesting more ideas and the big snowball has never stopped rolling. By the age of 25, he had his own real estate brokerage. After a few years, and being more interested in the investor side of the business, he closed up shop and have not been an active broker since. After the savings and loan crisis of the late 1980's and early 1990's, in 1992 they packed up all their California belongings – moved to Arizona – and began buying properties with the intention of riding the market up. Guess what? The old crystal ball must have been working because over the following years Phoenix became one of the top real estate investing areas in the country. He still enjoys investing – and sharing investing ideas with good people. What you will learn: Why it's important to constantly seek new information Mark's formula for success in real estate Why saying “my market is different” isn't a valid excuse for failure How to stop indulging in your own self-limiting beliefs The biggest obstacles of getting into a buy and hold investment strategy How to take action towards real estate success TODAY Why you need to talk less and listen more Some of Mark's current favorite books and magazines Why marketing is so important in business — especially in real estate Resources: SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/ProfitPotential SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/webinar SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/termsbook SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/ebook SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/QLS

If we're going to trust our intuition, then often times, that means rejecting some of the gimmicks and hacks and cheats that others don't seem to mind using. Why the gap in thinking? How can we make sense of that? And how does it change our behavior? Today, we go outside our echo chamber with Emily Hirshey, a writer on Ashton Kutcher's Netflix show, The Ranch. Today's EpisodeDoing business today can be a complicated mess. That's not to say it has never been complicated. However, businesses have to be careful about what they say, do, think, feel and place. Even employees have to watch everything they do. Snapchat came under fire today for their “blackface.” Now maybe, it was not the best idea, but if it was in partnership with the Bob Marley Estate, then, who is to blame? This is the problem businesses face. As a marketing professional ideas are going to have to be thought about. You are going to have to tear them apart and reassemble them. Find out if there is an “outrage” in your idea. I will say, that you cannot make everyone happy. That does not mean you should not just throw up your hands and do whatever ideas comes from your head. However, businesses should take risks, but, they should be calculated. Be sure you are equipped to handle the outrage. If you need to, update your crisis communication plan. As the boy scouts always say, “be prepared.” Now, onto the show!Marketing News Discussed:Storyful crowdsource video for journalistFacebook is looking to get you paid in your postsYou can play podcasts in Google searchGoogle bets on AMP in their newsThe changing face of searchSnapChat is not feeling the love todayWhy business needs to risk but be aware of the backlashApps/Programs to try:ShowboxShazam for BrandsScreenSquidGoalMapQuestion:Is this Bob Marley filter that bad?
