Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer, JC Chasez, and Golden Globe winning songwriter, producer and composer Jimmy Harry announce their groundbreaking new musical theater concept album, Playing With Fire. Inspired by Mary Shelly's timeless novel Frankenstein, Playing with Fire marks Chasez's first major musical theater recording project. Chasez is also featured as a vocalist alongside singers Cardamon Rozzi and Lily Elise. The project comes on the heels of an exciting year for both Chasez and Harry respectively, following the highly anticipated *NSYNC reunion on the Trolls Band Together soundtrack where Chasez lent his vocals on the group's first song in two decades, "Better Place," and Harry's recent work writing and producing "Take Me Back To The Party," the latest single from B-52's founding member Kate Pierson. Harry has previously worked with legends such as Madonna, Pink, Britney Spears, Diplo, Kelly Clarkson, Weezer and more. Chasez made a surprise appearance at this year's Elsie Fest and joined festival host creator Darren Criss on stage where the project was announced.Featuring a collection of 16 original new tracks, Playing With Fire first came to fruition when Harry presented Chasez the script of his late mother's (Barbara Field) theatrical adaptation of Shelley's prescient sci-fi story. Chasez was immediately intrigued with the play, and work on it immediately began, creating a heartfelt story of timely technological issues, love, responsibility, revenge, loss, and the human condition. This reimagining of the classic tale constructs a conversation between Frankenstein and his creation, The Creature, at the grave of Frankenstein's wife, Elizabeth, ten years after her death. Through dynamic interplay of dialogue and shared flashbacks of key events in both their lives, the concept album plunges into the heart of their intertwined destinies. As they confront their past actions and the devastating impact they've had on one another, Frankenstein and The Creature gradually find understanding, sympathy, and forgiveness. Chasez and Harry were drawn not only to the thought-provoking technological themes in Shelly's novel, but also to the emotional depth that Field's adaptation brought to the story. It was as if they discovered an untapped perspective on a literary classic that they could illustrate with music. This gripping story is accompanied by dark brooding songs that blend Electronic pop juxtaposed against classical music from the romantic era, forming a captivating symphony of contrasts that reflect the characters own internal conflicts. "When we first discussed creating a musical inspired by Frankenstein, obvious topics such as technology, A.G.I., monsters, immortality and death came up. However, when we began the process of writing the songs, we couldn't help but lean into topics dealing with familial relationships, love, deceit, and denial. In the end, we flipped the technological beast on its side to reveal that, in spite of all its benefits and horrors it creates, it changes nothing about our basic humanity." Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Inspired by the age-old tradition of settling things with your best friends, the game comes to life through the shenanigans of pals Rock, Paper and Scissors in Nickelodeon's new animated series Rock Paper Scissors. The titular characters, Rock, Paper and Scissors, are a trio of best friends and roommates who lovingly compete over everything in hilarious but mostly wildly absurd ways. Throughout season one, the trio will go to extremes playing hide-and-seek around the world, running from the birthday police, defending the world from an alien invasion, going head-to-head with the Rat Bros and more.Nickelodeon's brand-new animated comedy stars Ron Funches (Trolls, Trolls Band Together) as Rock, the member of the trio with the biggest heart and moral compass; Thomas Lennon (Zoey 102, 17 Again, Reno 911!) as Paper, the wannabe intellectual who dreams of being a famous inventor; and Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko's Modern Life, Reno 911!) as Scissors, who acts overly confident and always wants to be cool. The series also stars Melissa Villaseñor (Saturday Night Live) as Pencil, the trio's incredibly smart neighbor down the hall and Eddie Pepitone (The Muppets, Old School) as Lou, the angry landlord, who is also a garbage can.

Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of November 17, 2023. The Trolls are back together as Justin Timberlake leads an N*Sync reunion in digital animated form in “Trolls Band Together.” But fighting for box office dominance is also the “Hunger Games” prequel movie, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes." Also on the big screen is "Next Goal Wins," where Taika Waititi hilariously tells the story of the 2011 American Samoa national soccer team who just wanted to score a goal in a World Cup qualifier. And Horror fans have "Thanksgiving" from director Eli Roth, featuring some over-the-top gore from a guy dressed in a pilgrim costume as he terrorizes Plymouth, MA. Steaming has lots of choices this weekend, including an animated series on Netflix that is the sequel/reboot/continuation of the story started in "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" called "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off," which brings back the entire voice cast from the 2010 movie.  SNL fans may get a kick out of the Please Don't Destroy guys in their movie on Peacock TV, "The Treasure of Foggy Mountain." Disney Plus’s "Dashing Through The Snow" sees Ludacris and his 8-year-old daughter trying to help Lil Rel Howrey's Nick recover a lost iPad on Christmas Eve. And Netflix’s "Best. Christmas. EVER!" has Heather Graham and hubby Jason Biggs take their two children to college friend Brandy's house, partly to prove that Brandy's life can't be nearly as great as her yearly Christmas letter makes it seem. Extra fun: It was filmed and set here in Utah! Beyond Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, and Tech, the brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing the nerdy. Brilliant opinions and commentary on all things geek, but surprising knowledge and witty arguments over pop culture, Star Trek, MARVEL vs. DC, and a wide range of movies, TV shows, and more. It turns out the third time really is the charm! Today, Ian and Don review Trolls Band Together, the latest installment in Dreamworks' wildly successful kids' fantasy about the misadventures of colorful, song-obsessed magical creatures with famously wild hair. The film centers on the secret origin of Branch (Justin Timberlake), who used to be part of a popular boy band comprised of his heart-throb older brothers. They broke up during the first performance of a major tour, and were subsequently scattered to the far reaches of Trolldom (or whatever it's called). When one of the brothers is kidnapped by vacuous pop-star siblings Velvet and Veneer (Amy Schumer and Andrew Rannells, respectively), Branch and Queen Poppy (Anna Kendrick) set out to literally get the band back together, thus combatting the dark forces of auto-tuned wannabes! In this spoilerific discussion, the guys talk about Band Together's surprising target audience; how Trolls does Disney better than Disney (especially compared to The Marvels); and how this film may just be bullet-proof against a recent controversy!Subscribe to, "Like", and comment on the Kicking the Seat YouTube channel, and check out kickseat.com for multiple movie podcasts each week! In the feature segment, spooky season continues as Kennerk speaks to Virgil Cardamone of the Mahoning Drive-In Theater, where an event-based approach to screenings has made them a bucket list destination for horror fans.Give us your feedback on our podcast by accessing this survey: https://forms.gle/CcuvaXCEpgPLQ6d18 Episode Resources: Weekend Box Office: FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S is First Horror Leader in Post-Halloween Frame Since 1991 Long Range Box Office Forecast: Marvel Studios' THE MARVELS What to Listen For 00:00 Intro 00:33 The Mahoning Drive-In 01:45 Third lowest box office weekend of 2023 03:02 Five Nights at Freddy's box office numbers 05:55 Day-and-Date opening 09:31 Nostalgic movies 13:12 Added show times  14:58 Killers of the Flower Moon numbers drop 18:02 International box office numbers 20:37 The Marvels prediction 23:45 Preservation of drive-in culture 25:42 35 millimeter film fanatics 27:43 Going retro 29:43 Slight movement in the culture 34:11 Commitment of retro film 39:47 Breeding ground for creatives 41:23 Curated food and beverage experience 46:10 Plans for 2024

Another week, another episode of the Empire Podcast, another bumper crop of incredible guests. First, we bring you the enormously fun Richard Armitage interview that was recorded live at our recent London Podcast Festival show, where he talked to Chris Hewitt about becoming an author with his debut novel, Geneva (on sale now, fact fans). That runs from 23:21.00 - 45:51.00 (approx.) Then, Chris talks to the legendary documentarian, Errol Morris (1:03:32.00 - 1:20:20.00), about his John Le Carre documentary, The Pigeon Tunnel, and the art of interviewing, and finally Neel Bhatt has a natter with Garth Davis (1:43:58.00 - 1:57:36.00), director of the sci-fi drama, Foe. Then, in the podbooth, Chris comes dangerously close to infecting Helen O'Hara and James Dyer with the dreaded lurgy, but they brave it out and end up talking, and listing in order, the films of Martin Scorsese, discussing the week's movie news, and reviewing Scorsese's Killers Of The Flower Moon, plus The Burial, Foe, The Pigeon Tunnel, and Trolls Band Together. Oh, and they pay tribute to two of the MCU's fallen heroes in a conversation (4:10.00 - 7:58.00 approx) that might spoil Avengers Endgame, so be careful if you haven't seen it. Marty, we're talking to you. Enjoy.
